Let me break down in very simple terms what Nigeria is. Nigeria as a country is like giving a contract to a team of bricklayers to build, then you notice different parts of the house keeps falling off, yet you still keep employing the same set of bricklayers over and over again, while your house keeps falling apart. For Nigeria to move forward as a nation, we all need to change our value system. The average Nigerian is wired to be greedy and has little or no empathy and would fatten himself at the expense of others. So what is the problem ? - Our value system ! A problem is better resolved if it's taken from the root. Once we have fixed our value system, the next stage is to stop employing the same bricklayers(politicians) that built a faulty home(country) for us.We need fresh hands, smart minds and most importantly, people with the right value system, people who have feelings for the common man. As crazy as it sounds, there are many families, somewhere in Nigeria, as I type this who have not eaten for days. We can all cry and complain online, but if we don't all do our little bits, in our closets, we can not excel as a country. It's pertinent to understand that, evil can not thrive where good is in abundance. What do I mean ?, the country/leaders are just as bad as MOST of its citizens are. A drop of poison in an ocean cannot kill the fishes there, but a drop of water in an ocean of poison would yield no positive result. Why am I saying all this ?. Most people reading this are either parents or would be parents some day.Train your children well, imbibe in them the right value system.Nurture them like they are going to be responsible for a nation one day, because they all would be. Teach them not to lie, not to steal, to treat other people right. Most importantly lead by example, because children don't follow what you say, they follow what you do. The little drops from each of us, good or bad, is what would determine our success or failure. Kindly patronize me, I build professional websites and mobile apps. I also help businesses(services, brands and products) with the right online strategies to ensure their success. My contact details are in my signature. You can also reply this message or send me a private message. Uber has gotten to a point where it needs little or no explanation. This ride hailing app has been around for some years. But how much do you really know about this company ? Let’s get enlightened . 1. Uber launched in March 2009.Founded by Garrett Camp and Travis Kalanick .It was formerly called UberCab, from 2009-2011. 2. Uber is not the first company to be named “Uber”. A design firm (Uber Inc.), was actually registered in 1999.When Uber launched, this caused a lot of problems for the design firm, as people kept calling them to complain about issues with their rides. A driver once erroneously sued Uber Inc. (the design firm). This hasn’t being the only erroneous law suit The full name of the ride hailing company is Uber Technologies Inc. 3. The world record for the longest Uber ride ever, was 2256 miles(3361Km), the driver drove a YouTube celebrity, Mr Beast all the way from North Carolina to California. For reference, its like driving from Lagos to Egypt The driver made $4100(approx 1.47 Million Naira) in profit and he was given a generous tip of extra $5,500(approx 1.98 Million Naira), that’s a total of approximately 3.45 Million Naira. Just stop wishing, it can’t happen here in Naija …..4. Uber is currently in 173 countries and 785 metropolitan areas. 5. The service first launched in Nigeria on the 23rd day of July 2014, Lagos to be precise. And Ice Prince, the Musician, was the first person to use the service. 6. About 2 years later, March 2016, Abuja became the 400th city in the world to have Uber. 7. Uber is estimated to have 110 million users worldwide. 8. 15% of rides are to or from an airport. 9. If you had invested 10,000 Naira in the company when it was starting out, your investment would be currently worth nothing less than 20 million Naira . 10. More than 5 billion trips worldwide has taken place since it launched . What other interesting facts do you know ? Please share in the comments section. Chayilnotes:"Affordable" is a rather relative term, it depends on the features you want the app to have . The truth very few developers would tell you is "nothing good comes cheap". Anybody can build an app, very few can build a quality app. But I can cook something up for you at a reasonable price I built this recently : https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.sub9ja.android2 Here is my number, kindly let's chat on WhatsApp : 08124021849 |
rusher14:The problems of Nigeria would be fixed if we stop pointing fingers at politicians and fix ourselves, starting from a day old baby . Our problems in Nigeria stems from our value system. An average Nigerian is wired to have "long throat", you can even see that at parties and ceremonies, with people eating multiple plates, while denying they have eaten . They are not concerned that other people at the party would eat too, all they care about is filling themselves to the brim. This may seem like a "crazy" analogy, but think about it deeply, what politicians are doing is just a higher level of this kind of act.GREED. Most people calling politicians thieves , would do the same or even worse. Let's all fix ourselves and inculcate the right value system.Every other thing would fix itself. The government is only a reflection of majority of its citizens.

Depression is real. But just like fear its all in your head. Live through life having it at the back of your mind that every problem has a POSITIVE solution. The situation may seem impossible and unresolvable, but you can and will overcome it. I am talking to you reading this, yes YOU !, don't give up. Talk to someone who loves you about what you are going through, it helps |
BRASH:I know but this is a very different scenario. So many variables are involved, too many to mention. Success parents are not rich, they are not Americans, they are not very educated, this is Nigeria. I could go on and on. I am not trying to be myopic, I am just saying it should be done in moderation and with wisdom |
![]() How do I say this without it sounding like I am hating . Please they should let Success be a child, let her play, let her go to school, let her play with her friends, let her be a child. Its good all what they her doing for her, but taking her everywhere is getting too much. They can give her all the love and support without putting her in the media every chance they get. Relocate her family, give them a nice apartment, set her parents up with nice jobs or train them on a skill to make sure Success is well taken care of. Its better to teach a person how to catch fish and giving them the tools to catch fish, than giving them fish everyday. They should please do everything in moderation. Sudden fame uncontrolled can be intoxicating for adults, not to talk of children. I pray success continues to follow Success I can help you make your business, product or service Successful . Donjazzy12:As much as we should respect our fathers, the bible for a reason said we would leave our fathers and mothers and cleave to our wives. As experienced as fathers are their decision for YOUR life may not always be the best. They are humans too, they make mistakes. |
Marriage26:I like that part, sometimes God gives us what we need to solve a problem, but we still "stress him", keep praying but you also have to act physically too as you said . Be strategic, be bold.Faith without works is dead |
helpee:Thanks for your input Sir, but consider this : 1. There are people, who stay married for 20+ years but eventually divorce, take Jeff and his wife, the Amazon billionaire for example. 2. In some scenarios experience does not necessarily mean "experiencing what you would like to have", it can mean experiencing what you wouldn't like to have .What am I trying to say, take for example if you have seen Nigeria all your life and have lived in poverty but get a chance for an all expense paid trip and a good job, a good house to America, or a well developed country, wouldn't you jump at it ?.Or if you have lived in Ajegunle in a one bedroom apartment all your life but someone blesses you with a free duplex in a developed area of Lagos and a car wouldn't you take it . ? Bottom line, I see girls around, even on the internet. Its become considerably easy to differentiate from the bad, good, better and the best ones. 3.I have seen good and bad marriages around me all my life, I have seen the ones that have lasted and the ones that have broken off in a short while, I have weighed them all, closely monitored them, taken note of the ingredients that made the ones that stayed strong.I am not claiming to be all knowing, but a lot can be learnt by listening and observing to the things that happen around you .Experience they say is the best teacher, but what most people don't add to that saying is that the experiences does not necessarily have to be your own. My point is no matter how good or bad people are, marriages can still fail. The bottom line is that there are some key qualities one should look out for, that cannot be neglected. Once those qualities are present, both parties in the marriage should be ready to be committed to become better people everyday, be committed to making things work.As I said I am not all knowing, couple all those with God's grace and guidance, seeking His wisdom everyday you won't fail . ![]() |
![]() I got married recently, I am probably much younger than you are, I was practically in your shoes . I wouldn't want to give to much details, because privacy is important, but I would say this : No matter what happens, stand your ground, there is only so much resistance a father can give no matter how strict he is or thinks he is . I didn't give her belle, I married her because she was a gem I couldn't afford to lose. The kind of girl you only see in fairy tales . If your wife to be is that kind of girl, don't lose her because of your father's decision. You would regret it for the rest of your life. Just be sure she is worth the fight, if she is. STAND YOUR GROUND.You are a man . Try and find diplomatic ways to resolve it, pray also a whole lot, you have no idea how much prayers can move mountains.Every man has a weak point, find your father's weak point and use it against him, play the fool if you have to and at the end of the day the end goal is getting your wife. If the drama gets too much she might leave you, trust me, women don't like too much drama no matter how much they love you, especially in this case when she has been with you this long. If your father is still "doing strong head", please go to your in-laws collect the list and pay her dowry . You already said they trust you. She is marrying you and not your father, from what you said, its not like he doesn't like the girl, he just wants to be stubborn. But I know he would come around, find his weak point and use it against him and win him over, that's what I did. Don't suffer a life time of regret losing the love of your life because you couldn't stand up to your father. This is one of of your first tests of being a true man. Please pass it Marriage26 UPDATE : Since you are Christian consider this bible passage. I reminded myself of it almost everyday : The king's heart is in the hand of the Lord, as the rivers of water: he turneth it whithersoever he will. Prov 21 VS 1 Make sure you and bae pray and fast fervently together. No battle is insurmountable as long as the person no be God, there is a solution.

![]() Blackberry that year ![]() I remember how girls used to do the unthinkable because of it. Now its Iphone. I can never forget when BBZ10 was reigning then, thats how one girl came into the mechanical engineering workshop, brought out her Z10 and waved it in my my face , her hands moved from left to right in a perfectly synchronised oscillatory motion, showing it off proudly. She opened her mouth like she tried to form an accent, then she uttered what makes me still laugh till today ..in a very confusing accent "Please do you have BBM charger" . ![]() About half of the people who use Iphones have not used 1/10th of its features .And you see them upgrading every year, just to show off. Life is in cycles . If you think what you use to brag today won't become obsolete tomorrow, then you are just deceiving yourself . Invest in things that won't loose value. Land in some parts of Ikorodu and Ifo/Sango is 400-500k . Its better to use an android phone of 30k-50k and have land that would never depreciate in value.
