Politics / Re: Desperation Must Not Make You Forfeit Your Right - Aisha Yesufu Speaks On Obi by DonMekino(m): 7:55am On Jun 11, 2022
One peculiar thing about the top three guys battling it out for the 001 seat, is that neither of them is there for the money.

One has milked Nigeria well enough systematically, and just wants to answer President by all means. He lives in Dubai full-time and only comes around every 4 years to contest for the Presidency.

He doesn't understand the struggle of the average Nigerian. He doesn't care so much. If he loses this one, he will go back to Dubai and wait out the next 4 years before coming out again.

Besides the fact that his ambition is scary, we can't afford to have a Paul Biya of Cameroun as President.

Another has been controlling Lagos treasury since 2003. He just wants to fulfill his lifetime political ambition of answering President, even if he dies the next day after swearing-in.

He would properly share Nigeria like cake to his boys....just like he did in Lagos. At the end of the day, he would teach us what being "fantastically corrupt" actually means.

The other was already a billionaire before 2003, and quite content with himself. He doesn't need your money for anything. He wants to be President to reset things and lay the foundation for systemic governance in future.

He relates with the struggles of the average Nigerian, understands what Nigeria needs, and has volunteered himself to save us from impending catastrophe. Win or lose, he would most likely not contest again.

.

It is up to us to choose wisely.

Same thing happened in Abuja. Don't mind those troublesome Meth addicts that always display victim mentality.

Voters registration have been on for the past several month, they did not register. Then suddenly in a single day, they decided to flock a registration center, won't there be pressure on the staff and overcrowding which will naturally cause chaos?

Then they foolishly come only and start crying like babies on the internet that they are being attacked.

Upon all the noise, SW & SS still lead the pack and it's even Osun state that has the highest new registration in the whole South.

Even for online, they have low registration than the NE, but they are loudmouthed and always like showing off, which explain why thousands of people are running to a registration center so they can trend it online and chestbeat. I only pity those who take them serious.

Naturally I don't like getting into these ethnic arguments, because we are merely playing into the hands of greedy politicians, but understand that in this your graph....the percentage of SE ppl embedded in other regions is far more than other regions u see in SE....for obvious reasons sha

All for TINUBU.

Peter Obi will win only on social media and few states in the east and maybe a state in the South South. I pray his followers stop being delusional and wake up to face the reality that APC is coming back to power.

Go to my village in Benue state, people know Tinubu and Atiku. APC and PDP. It will be difficult to sell LP or Peter. This thing is just the reality on ground.

Tinubu and Atiku are grass root mobilizers. What has Peter Obi done. The only people rooting for Peter are those in the town and city and not those in the rural areas. That's where the votes come from.

Peter Obi CANNOT win the presidential election.

It's true, but they still have almost seven months plus to publicise themselves....a lot can still happen before the end of the year. I don't know why ppl are jittery over this....no one knows tomorrow

APC played on PDP's Intelligence

They pushed Northerners to aspire and buy forms, so that PDP can present a Northerner, Atiku

Now, they've dribbled PDP into chosing a Northerner, and they have gone back to chose a Southerner

PDP will be hated forever, for betraying the South, and betraying Nigeria's quest for equity, justice and fairness...

Politics / Re: PDP Primary: Anyim Congratulates Atiku, Decries Voting On Primordial Sentiments by DonMekino(m): 6:36pm On May 29, 2022
I've always admired Gov Wike for his bravery and ability to stand by his word.

He has been almost like the last man standing in his party, PDP even when the chips were almost down and lots of his colleagues who we thought were pioneers in the party had left for the ruling party and some stayed as mere figureheads he stayed and fought on.

He is fearless and has fought gallantly for his party both locally in Rivers state and across the country, he literally became the backbone of his party, he fought like mother hen, you dare not mess with his party or party members without having him to contend with.
The Rivers State governor oversaw party primary elections and inter Party gubernatorial elections in other states, he literally was all over the place and unapologetic about it.

Everything was alright until the race to become president started and then fast forward to when it got to its boiling point then Gov Wike lost my respect.
Not that I have any issues with him exercising his civic rights as a Nigerian but the moment he started picking on a man who would always talk about what he has done in the past and what he can do if he becomes president, a man who never called any opponent by their name, I'm not saying this because I'm an Igbo man but as a Southern Nigerian man..
Peter Obi apparently became like a threat to Wike for whatever reasons best known to him while Atiku Abubakar who is almost non franchise party member would just show his face every 4 yrs and grab PDP's ticket with so much ease and unopposed yet Wike never talked about him or any Northerner in his campaign, instead he became friends and tried mending fences with the ones he has once offended.

Until we southerners learn to put aside tribal obsession and sentiments we'll continue to fuel the political strength of the North. The North is not of one tribe and also has Northeast, Northwest, North Central etc just as we have our subs in the South, though they may speak a common language (Hausa) yet they are that part of the country that would always come out as "North" when it matters most while we on our part see the particular occasion as a time to play segregation card.

We can not continue to do the same thing and think we could get a different result. No matter what anyone thinks or believes, politics remains a game of numbers. Take it or leave it, The rule of the game hasn't changed. One other constant thing in the game is change in strategy.

Talking about Nyesom Wike, he is indeed a PDP hero, no doubts. Let's give it to him. No matter how you look at it he's a warrior. He fought gallantly but lost for obvious reasons.

Peter Obi on the other hand may not have emerged as PDP's Flag bearer because he's "Stingy" like they'd put it.

Apart from not being ready to buy his way into office as president, there are still chances that our regular status quo in governance would be a thing of the past once he assumes office, which would in turn create a level playing ground for the political class and the common man. That alone is very laughable to expect people who have made sharing of public money a way of life to welcome. They'll never let it happen, talk more of bringing it upon themselves by their own hands.

The way some gutter analysts see these elections baffles me. You think Peter Obi lost?? No, it's you and I and our future generations that are losing. Peter doesn't need Nigeria to make money and be comfortable, he is already. Many politicians you see today starting from buhari to the tinubus, the atikus, the wikes etc already know that Nigeria is irredeemable. They only invest and scoop their money from their investments. Many of them have started placing their biological children into political offices...and u think their aim is to save Nigeria?? Youths wake up, your future is being mortgaged here.....shine ya eyes
Politics / Re: Peter Obi Joins Labour Party, To Contest For President by DonMekino(m): 7:44pm On May 27, 2022
I met Mr. Peter Obi in Paris, sometime in 2016.
I was travelling to Nigeria and was waiting for our boarding to be announced. And there he was, just standing at the airport lobby like the rest of us 'normal people'.
My first thought was, that can't possibly be Mr. Peter Obi, the former governor of Anambra State. I mean, he was just standing there.
Yes, he was no longer in office, but at least a personal assistant, abi?
But he looked too much like Mr. Peter Obi, so I decided go and say hello.

"Good morning sir," I started, then introduced myself. "Are you Mr. Peter Obi, the former governor of Anambra State?"

"Yes I am," he kindly replied. Smiling, ever so kindly. Not a single air of superiority about him.

We exchanged pleasantries, and talked for a couple of minutes; then I asked him, "Do you speak Igbo, sir? I don't know why we're speaking English if we both speak Igbo."

Yes, I know it sounds foolish now but that was the question I asked.
He chuckled and replied that I was speaking English to him, hence he responded in English.
We talked about this and that, and I thanked him for all he accomplished as a governor.
Soon, it was time to board, and we said goodbye.

Several hours later, I got up to use the toilet. The airplane was very quiet, most of the people were either sleeping or watching something. That was when I saw Mr. Peter Obi again. He was reading something, no, not something, he was reading his Bible!
Now, don't get me wrong. I know he Is not contesting for the position of pastor of Nigeria, but it does say something about the man.
And He wasn't reading it from a device (I wouldn't have noticed if that was the case, just walking down the aisle). He had his Bible, the book itself.
I've met a few celebrities or 'famous' people while travelling and I have never asked to take a picture with them. Me, I like to respect myself.
But there was something about this man. And suddenly, all I heard about him and all he did as governor, came to mean more.
He has a good foundation, he is a structure that will stand the test of time (or Nigeria as I think of it now).
So I went and got my phone, and politely asked if we could take a selfie, and he obliged.
He actually took the picture himself, with my phone, because he is taller than me and when I tried to take the picture, it didn't look good so I left it in the capable hands of Mr. Peter Obi.
I thanked him for the picture and went back to my seat.

Now, there was a man, Sydney Granville Elton, or Pa Elton, as he came to be fondly called. As a young man growing up in England, he heard the LORD speak to him to locate a town called Illesha.
He searched and confirmed such a town existed, and spent the next 50 years of his life there, died and was buried there as he desired.
Pa Elton arrived to an ongoing revival in Ilesha and would come to mentor Pa Babalola and other great men of God, the likes of Bishop Benson Idahosa, Pastor E.A. Adeboye, Pastor W.F. Kumuyi, Bishop Emeka Nwankpa, Pastor Gbile Akanni, Bishop Francis Wale Oke etc.

The above was just to introduce Pa Elton. Pa Elton was no stranger to the prophetic. Now this is one of his prophecies over Nigeria:

"Africa is like the gun and Nigeria is the nozzle. There will come a time when Nigeria will be known for corruption.
But a time will come also, when she will be known for righteousness. Nigeria and Nigerians will be known all over the world for corruption.
Your name Nigeria will stink for corruption but after a while, a new phase will come a phase of righteousness.
People from the nations of the earth will hold to a Nigerian and say, We want to follow you to your nation to go and learn righteousness.”

- Pa Sydney Granville Elton.

Have we experienced the time when the Name Nigeria stank for corruption? Is it time for the other part of the prophecy to be fulfilled? Are we ready to take our place as the giant of Africa?

May we be as the sons of Issachar who had understanding of the times!
May it please the LORD to take away our reproach!
May we suffer hunger now (if need be), refuse politics of the belly, and create a country we would be proud of!

Remember, everything rises and falls with leadership.
Our past leaders were not strangers; they came from among us or from the corruption among us and corruption has permeated every fibre of our lives, and our leaders justly reflected that.
I sincerely hope that the sun is setting on corruption in Nigeria and the dawning of a new day is within our reach.

Nigeria is way too rich to be poor. Poverty should not be associated with a country that is blessed like Nigeria.
Nigeria, with her wealth of diverse people and natural resources, CAN truly, in every sense of the word, be the giant of Africa - the trigger that allows Africa to take her rightful place.

What Nigeria lacks is good leadership! If you are still uncertain as to the importance of good leadership, look at the state of our country despite its enormous natural resources.

Mr. Peter Gregory Obi is the most credible and eligible candidate we have.

I said to myself, Mr. Peter Obi must do whatever it takes to give Nigerians the option to vote for him and ensure that he will be on the ballot paper, come what may. And he has started that process.

May God Bless Nigeria with Mr. Peter Gregory Obi.

ABOUT PETER OBI'S SON,

After the faux outrage that Obi's comment about not buying a car for his son about 30 years of age because he believes that he should work to get one for himself, generated, I decided to do a little background check on his son. Below is what I've been able to come up with. My candid opinion on the matter is offered as a postscript at the footer.

Oseloka Obi is Peter Obi's only son and a graduate of Philosophy from Bristol University, UK.
He is a Hollywood actor and a member of the Actors Guild of Great Britain UK and goes by the stage name ELOKA IVO.
He's done a lot of stage plays and recitations, most notably teaming up with Dame Harriet Walter and Gemma Whelan to perform a reading of Timberlake Wertenbaker's 'The Third' at London Burough of Islington in the UK.

His major casts include the movie, "His Assistant" and a sci-fi series "Avenue 5".

He's also done voice over for several Ebooks on Amazon.

Oseloka has worked in various firms which includes Assistant Production Manager at AFRIFF, Lagos and Business Developer at Kombini, London, UK.

In 2018 Oseloka Co-founded TBA which is a Movie Theatre Company in Bristol City, UK.

PS: It's so refreshing to see a Nigerian politician who does not believe that his status as a public office holder is what his son should run with to access privileged positions. I'm genuinely surprised by the number of people who expect Peter Obi to buy his grown up son a car when he's actually set him on a pedestal to global fame and fortunes, having given him the most important virtues of Good education and values. What is a car in comparison to that?

Obi's style of leadership pales greatly to what obtains amongst Black Africans: the wanton obsessing for materialism and the worship of same. This understandably irks the living daylight out of many who cannot understand how a Billionaire's daughter is rather a public school teacher in Lagos as opposed to being a top Executive in NNPC like her peers, and his son having to hustle for his own car.

Coming from a people used to seeing the children of top politicians flying private jets and power bikes of over 40m naira while having no known source of income, I really really do understand. Obi is not your regular Nigerian, and it's so refreshing to see.

Is that what this guy undertook from the interviews Why is it that Nigerians hate to go through PROCESS/PROTOCOL? You expressly likes unintelligent people who promise you magic and flimsy political solutions, right? Mr Obi was trying to give Nigerians a realistic, tangible and concrete PROCESS AND SACRIFICE to Nigeria long term predicament caused by those unintelligent elements who promised you magic but lacks the intelligence and political will to redeem any of those promises, what is wrong in the statement made by Mr obi? Why does it attract a lots of criticism? Just because we hate PROCESS. A QUADRUPLED HARDSHIP IS COMING ON NIGERIANS IF WE GO AHEAD NOT TO VOTE MR Obi THIS TIME. We should learn how to follow due process, entrust leadership and serviceship in the hands of people who really are ready to make SACRIFICES while following due PROCESS. TO revive and revamp Nigeria is not a JUMP AND PASS, It's a gradual process, no MAGIC.

At least if we fail to qualify you can actually hold someone responsible. For the person saying we don't have good players, that's the biggest lie....aside Senegal, no team in Africa has good players more than Nigeria, the onus lies on the coach to bring out the best from his players. Eguaveon didn't seem to have a pattern....his only high point is beating Egypt in afcon which seems like a million years ago now....truly Rohr has been vindicated.
