DaddyRochie1642:But girls like this are obviously everywhere in naija. They actually are of the opinion that the "World" revolves around them. They are just some kind of unnecessary distraction. |
I wish them speedy recovery even though I am not a fan of his. The man is a bloody bully, he doesn't give a damn. Very blunt as well. His leadership style doesn't go down well with me. |
Please you guys as a matter of urgency should visit the Lagos Badagry Express Road. That Road is a shame to Lagos State and Nigeria. And to think that it is the same road that connects Nigeria to other West Africa Countries. How sad. That road is terrible and needs Government presence. |
Chief Remi Fani-Kayode (1921-1995) was the man who successfully moved the motion for Independence on August 2, 1958. Anthony Enahoro moved the motion in 1953 which proposed Nigeria's independence in 1956 but was rejected by Parliament and it therefore failed. It also resulted in a walk-out by the northern parliamentarians who were of the view that Nigeria was not yet ready for independence. The tensions and acrimony that came from all these resulted in the infamous Kano riots of 1953. In 1957, Samuel Ladoke Akintola moved a second motion for independence in 1959 and it was passed by the Federal House but the British authorities refused to assent to it and, consequently, it failed. In 1958, Remi Fani-Kayode moved the third motion for Nigeria’s independence in the Federal Parliament and asked that Nigeria should be given her independence on April 2, 1960. The motion was not only passed by Parliament but it was also accepted by the British and was therefore successful. However, in 1959, the British Colonial authorities needed a few months to put everything in place before leaving Nigeria and Prime Minister Tafawa Balewa moved a motion for a slight amendment to be made to the original 1958 motion that had been passed and approved to the effect that the date of independence should be shifted from April 2, 1960, to October 1, 1960. Tafawa Balewa’s motion for the amendment was seconded by Chief Raymond Njoku, the Minister of Transport, and it was agreed to by the British. That is how this date (October 1, 1960) has become Nigeria's Independence Day for the past 59 years. Let's check out some interesting facts about Fani-Kayode: * Born December 22, 1921. * He was called to bar in 1945. * Appointed Queens Counsel (Q.C.) in 1960. * He was the third and youngest Nigerian ever to be made Q.C. * He was made a Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN) in 1977. * He was the third Nigerian to be made a Senior Advocate of Nigeria. * He set up the first indigenous Nigerian law firm in 1948 with Chief Frederick Rotimi Williams and Chief Bode Thomas. * In August 1958, he successfully moved the motion for Nigeria's independence in the Federal House of Assembly. * He died in October 1995. * He was the father to Chief Femi Fani-Kayode, former Minister of Aviation. #HistoryVille #IndependenceDay #NigeriaAt60 https://www.facebook.com/1778730488905081/posts/3240923056019143/

Memberclub:That's one of the worse Roads in Lagos State. Its a shame. As a matter of fact, there is no Government presence around that Lagos/Badagry Expressway. Even though a State tertiary institution (LASU) is just along the road, yet the road isn't motorable. How Sad. If you drive from Iyanoba down to Badagry, honestly, you will weep for this nation. In fact, you will hate driving after the trip. The terrible section(s) of the road are but not limited to: Iyanoba, Okokomaiko, Iyana Isaishi, Custom point, Agbara, Odofa etc. These are some of the failed portions of the road. Meanwhile, there's no solution in sight. |
Sorry to let you know that it has been like that for ages. That's naija for you. |
Airforce1:Its not by power bro. |
Liliantalks:I bet you absolutely have nothing to offer. |
It is expected. I am not surprised. |
KingAzubuike:Very irresponsible and senseless comment at this present time. |
This will get to front page in no distant time. |
Sisijetue:Bad girl. You are damn blunt. |
Jim99:Be careful bro. You don't have to say the Truth all the time. You guys should be encouraging our girls. Thank you. |
This too shall pass. |
Welcome development.

Sequel to the COVID-19 outbreak, this is how the Canadian Government is helping her citizens and their families get through this challenging time. The Government is giving her citizens $2,000 per month for up to four (4) months. This is a Government that works.... A responsible Government to a responsible people. What a country.

taitee:I am sure your passport should be ready for collection. I actually captured same January 29th, 2020 at Alausa, Ikeja Office and I have collected my passport already. |
otijah:I suppose it is just a proactive measure, which is quite encouraging. However, I am of the opinion that we are pretty slow to respond to stuff in this part of the World. |
Naija, always too slow when it comes to things that needs urgent and swift attention. |
We have since been rejected by the US. I am not surprised. Unfortunately, I doubt if our politicians are affected as well. |
Freetech:Destination Canada bro. UK is a no no. |
Khaleell001:Boss, truth be told, it is a valid call. And for the fact that he even had the courage to speak the truth, the senator must be applauded. We actually don't like saying the truth the way it is in this country. How sad. Or are you saying the Government of the day has done well? |
agulion:We are gullible. Honestly, we are a major part of the problem. |
I think this is the most foolish response from a Presidential spokesman ever in the history of Nigeria, rather than address the element of Sen. Abaribe call for Buhari's resignation, he went ahead with calumny to blackmail the persona of Sen. Abaribe. The primary responsibility of every responsible Govt is to protect the lives and properties of its citizen which Buhari has failed to do in all ramification. The spate of killings and attacks under Buhari is unprecedented. Sen. Abaribe's call is valid and it represents the opinion of all sensible Nigerians. It is such a watery response coming from the presidential spokesman. And again, Abaribe's shortcomings wouldn't validate President Buhari's failures or incapacities if there are. It's quite appalling how Garba Shehu and Femi have left the real job of image management to stoop for the hatchet job of attacking perceived critics. What a shame. |
Dreyl:You are right bro. |
The people of IMO State new saw it coming. This is a big blow for PDP. Damn. |
