Christianity EtcBeing A Christian Is More Than Something You Claim. by donogaga(op): 10:52am On Mar 03, 2015
Pastor Jeremiah Steepek (pictured) transformed himself into a homeless person and went to the 10,000 member church that he was to be introduced as the head pastor at that morning. He walked around his soon to be church for 30 minutes while it was filling with people for service....only 3 people out of the 7-10,000 people said hello to him. He asked people for change to buy food....NO ONE in the church gave him change. He went into the sanctuary to sit down in the front of the church and was asked by the ushers if he would please sit n the back. He greeted people to be greeted back with stares and dirty looks, with people looking down on him and judging him.

As he sat in the back of the church, he listened to the church announcements and such. When all that was done, the elders went up and were excited to introduce the new pastor of the church to the congregation........"We would like to introduce to you Pastor Jeremiah Steepek".... The congregation looked around clapping with joy and anticipation.....The homeless man sitting in the back stood up..... and started walking down the aisle.....the clapping stopped with ALL eyes on him....he walked up the altar and took the microphone from the elders (who were in on this) and paused for a moment....then he recited

“Then the King will say to those on his right, ‘Come, you who are blessed by my Father; take your inheritance, the kingdom prepared for you since the creation of the world. For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.’ “Then the righteous will answer him, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink? When did we see you a stranger and invite you in, or needing clothes and clothe you? When did we see you sick or in prison and go to visit you?’ “The King will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’

After he recited this, he looked towards the congregation and told them all what he had experienced that morning...many began to cry and many heads were bowed in shame.... he then said....Today I see a gathering of people...... not a church of Jesus Christ. The world has enough people, but not enough disciples...when will YOU decide to become disciples? He then dismissed service until next week....... Being a Christian is more than something you claim. Its something you live by and share with others.

EducationIssues As NUC Abolishes Pass Degree by donogaga(op): 7:56pm On Mar 01, 2015
As the report on the abolition of the Pass grade by the National Universities Commission (NUC) continues to generate heated argument from stakeholders in the education sector, CHIKA OKEKE writes that the policy may stir further crisis in the labour market

When the vice chancellor of Usman Danfodiyo University, Sokoto, Prof Abdullahi Zuru, announced during the 2014/2015 matriculation of 4,133 students of the institution recently that the National Universities Commission (NUC) had abolished the award of Pass Degree to graduating students of tertiary institutions across the country, little did he envisage that the message would elicit provocative responses from stakeholders and employers of labour.

The policy, which he said, would take a retroactive effect from the 2013/2014 academic session would also have far reaching implications on the grading system of students in universities.

His standpoint, according to the NUC, was that the minimum pass mark for courses in the universities would be pegged at 45 per cent; that is, D-grade instead of the previous 40 per cent which was E-grade.

Zuru added that the minimum class of degree to be earned by students would be Third Class insisting that no university student would henceforth graduate with a Pass.

However, a cross section of respondents who spoke to LEADERSHIP Sunday kicked against the abolition of the policy arguing that the NUC should be primarily concerned with the provision of basic infrastructure to aid teaching and learning in respective institutions of higher learning.

Stakeholders Standpoint

Reacting, a lecturer at the Department of Fine Arts, Ahmadu Bello University Zaria, Dr Iyabo Khadijah Tijani, described the policy as irrelevant saying that eradicating such degree would amount to crippling students in possession of the degree even as she suggested that other forms of rating should be used to replace a Pass grade.

On whether the policy would encourage monetary gratification, she said, “It is a crime to induce anyone with monetary gratification and administrative lapses will not necessarily be affected by abolishing the pass grade because universities have checks and balances to assure quality academic standards.

Tijani said despite the improvement in the educational curriculum, it is wrong to exclude students that fall within the Pass grade insisting that the degree was still recognised in tertiary institutions abroad.

While calling on the NUC to channel its energy more in providing befitting infrastructure, she argued that employers of labour have the discretion to select the category of employees that would fit into their system.

According to her: “The NUC should worry more about providing infrastructures that will aid effective learning because there is dearth of appropriate infrastructure congenial to effective learning. All the intellectuals reared in Nigeria are frustrated for lack of avenue to practise and showcase their knowledge”.

She debunked claims that the move might cause problem between the NUC and employers of labour. “Only an unserious (sic) person will fight over a degree with serious limitation because it exposes the holder as academically deficient”, she argued.

However, another lecturer in the University of Abuja, Gwagwalada, who spoke on condition of anonymity described the move as another evidence of NUC’s commitment towards introducing sanity among tertiary institutions.

She noted that Pass grade was irrelevant in this present generation stressing that employers of labour had over time shunned graduates with such grades. She observed that employers mostly believe that those with the Pass grade would have nothing to offer towards the growth of organisations.

While suggesting that students with Pass grade should enroll for part-time programmes and refresher courses, she also commended the federal government for establishing additional universities across the states.

According to her, “At a time when the cost of living is rising while parents battle to send their children to school, it is the responsibility of the students to study harder and avoid humiliating their parents with horrible results that cannot be used in the labour market”.

Using her nephew as a case in point, she said, “One of my nephews graduated with a pass three years ago despite the huge monies spent by his parents on his education. After searching for work tirelessly both in private and government institutions, the only alternative left was for him to learn a trade. Imagine a university graduate learning a trade because he graduated with a pass grade”, she inquired.

On whether the abolition would cause problem between NUC, organizations and students already in possession of the grade, she said: “I don’t foresee any crisis emanating from the policy from government institutions that already employed such category of people because there is job security in government institutions and they hardly dismiss workers at will”.

But for private organisations, she observed that since there was no job security in the private sector, it would be a wise decision for holders of such certificate to enroll for higher degrees without further delay.

She enjoined parents to closely monitor the activities of their children at home and even in schools by paying surprise visits to their schools saying that it was easier to catch them young than to allow the children to outgrow their parents.

Disputing NUC on the policy, a managing director in one of the multinational companies, who pleaded anonymity because he was not permitted to comment on the issue, criticised the NUC leadership and federal government for not providing conducive atmosphere for learning.

According to him, “It is unpatriotic, uncultured and wicked for NUC to come up with such policy considering the fact that both state and federal government owned tertiary institutions failed to provide the needed infrastructure to make learning easy”.

Speaking further, he said “Most Nigerian leaders went to school through scholarship but instead of assisting to improve the standard of education, they are coming up with all sorts of unhealthy policies that would frustrate students.

“Tertiary institutions abroad still recognise students with pass grade, yet the NUC has already passed a vote of no confidence on them. Until the government is sincere in changing this country, Nigeria will be a better place for all of us. That a student graduated with a Pass grade doesn’t make the person academically deficient”, he concluded.

Students’ Reaction

A student of Nasarawa State University, Linda Pwok, condemned the NUC for initiating the policy, which she believed would introduce unhealthy competitions among students.

She said, “Before the abolishment of Pass grade, students engaged in all forms of dirty deals like sleeping with lecturers, stealing to sort lecturers and even buying recharge cards for the lecturers to, at least, get 40 marks in a course not to talk of now that the pass mark will be pegged at 45.

She pleaded with the federal government through the NUC to seek better ways of introducing reforms in tertiary institutions to avoid students wasting four years in school only to be expelled due to their inability to obtain at least a third class degree.

Another student of the university, Jerome Okafor, condemned Pwok’s position but rather commended NUC for coming up with a bold initiative aimed at strengthening tertiary institutions in line with their counterparts abroad.

He said, “It is a good step in the right direction so that foreigners will recognise certificates awarded to Nigerian students and not just rate their years of academic struggle as a mere jamboree”.

“It beats my imagination to hear that Nigerian graduates are not employable, yet; we spend huge amount of money in school trying to acquire the certificate. The abolition of Pass degree will introduce healthy competition among the students and many that came to school to mess up will be disappointed at the end.

NUC Declines Comment

Attempts to get the reaction of NUC Deputy Director of Public Relations, Alhaji Ibrahim Usman Yakasai on the matter proved abortive as at the time of filling this report as he failed to comment.

Family10 Costless Things That’ll Make Her Give You More Love, More Sex. by donogaga(op): 4:48pm On Feb 22, 2015
This is strictly for the married peeps down here.

Sex Starved? 10 costless things that’ll make her give you more love, more sex

So she's not giving you enough sex and you're wishing you could just get a little more? You’re simply not doing enough ‘good’ deeds to EARN more sex. These 10 tips will help you.

So you think she’s not giving you enough bedroom time

If yes, you’re not alone — many men are in your shoes, not getting enough sex and wishing they could just get a little more.

Well, before you start quarrelling or cheating on her, you should pause and ask: Why is she holding out and preventing you from visiting the honey pot as often as you want?

In many cases, it is not that the woman does not want sex.

It is simply a case of you not doing enough ‘good’ deeds to EARN more sex than you are presently getting from her.

Here are 10 simple, costless things you can do to EARN more naughty time:

(1) Don’t chase ejaculation when you have sex.
Most men are selfish in bed. They chase ejaculation and once they climax, it’s over. They forget that pre-intimacy is very important for women because it takes more time for them to get to climax than the average man. Start every sex session with intense pre-intimacy.

(2) Show her you miss her.
Women like to know that you love them and miss them. So make innocent, non-sexual contact, like kissing, cuddling, holding her hand while you walk. Greet with a real peck whenever you meet ... add a brief hug.

(3) Say the magic words often.
Even when you show you love a woman, she still wants to hear it. So say it often, via SMS, phone calls, greeting cards and FACE-to-FACE. She’ll see you care and reward you.

(4) As much as you can avoid her turn offs.
As a man, it is important that you identify your woman’s turn-off. When you do, avoid it like poison because she will starve you of love (and Sex) whenever you trigger it. Every wise man knows his woman’s no-go area and sidesteps it. Go there and be ostracised.

(5) Don’t run away after sex.
Many men are guilty of this offence. Once they ejaculate, they turn away and withdraw. They do not know that, in most cases, the woman is yet to be rewarded. If you want her to enjoy and look forward to sex with you, stay with her after you ejaculate. Draw her close, cuddle, kiss and even clean-up for her.

(6) Buy her random ‘token’ gifts.
Even the most modest, thrifty, unmaterialistic woman likes to get love gifts. The money value does not matter as much as the gesture. Even a hair pin, earring, lingerie, or some other trifle, will matter. So buy those for her from time to time.

(7) Play sex games and try new styles. Make sex interesting and she’ll love it. There are number of adult bedroom games you can try with her. Also be creative with your sex positions. Turn sex into a pleasurable classroom for her. She’ll be anticipating it.

(cool Give her oral.
You may not know it, but MouthAction is one of the best ways to give your woman an orgasm. If you do it right, you’ll soon get her moaning and twisting while she experiences earth-shaking orgasms. If you do that, you’ll soon have her trapped, offering sex every day.

(9) Let her opinion count in the bedroom.
Please, don’t be a bedroom dictator to your woman. Don’t go about it like a commander and he orderly. Be nice, speak nice and always ask her what she wants to do or wants you to do to her. Involving her will make her feel the sex is participatory, not one sided as it usually is. Ask her and give it to her as she wants.

(10) Appreciate her body.
Make your woman feel comfortable being naked. When you compliment her body features, she’ll feel that you like the entire package, not just her p***y. So know her birthmarks, scars and touch them. Kiss her body at odd spots and make her feel loved.

Generally, getting more love and re sex from your woman is just a matter of showing her that, though you like to have sex with her, it’s not just about sex.

You must make her feel that sex is a give and take affair that both parties involved have an equal stake and reward.

In Adamawa, Helicopters deliver apology messages from Boko Haram

Pamphlets and flyers containing confessions and expressions of regret from the terrorists were dropped in some areas of the state at around 5am on Friday, February 20.

Residents of Adamawa State have received messages from repentant Boko Haram members via helicopter, reports say.

Pamphlets and flyers containing confessions and expressions of regret from the terrorists were dropped in some areas of the state at around 5am on Friday, February 20, ThisDay reports.

The repentant insurgents stated in the messages, which were written in English, Hausa and Arabic, that they had been brainwashed by some leaders of the sect leading them to loot communities and kill innocent Nigerians.

“People began to fear, so I immediately phoned the executive chairman of the council to intimate him, who also  confirmed from security  chiefs in Yola, saying  it was military helicopters spreading peace message to residents," a resident of Gombi, identified as Kabiru, said.

“We were shocked and there was apprehension when we saw the helicopter hovering over us, dropping the pamphlets with Boko Haram inscription indicating their regrets,” a community leader, also from Gombi, said.

According to another witness, Bello Adamu, the pamphlets read thus:

“We started this jihad of Ahlis sunna lidda awati together as one. We sleep together, we eat and drink together. We studied the Holy Quran and prayed together in the early days of this Jihad. Those of us that are doing the work of God for the past 5yrs today. We have to realise today that we are being used for selfish and corrupt reasons. We have reached a situation whereby our leaders are enjoying and we are suffering in the name of jihad.’’

The messages were however signed with the names of towns, Gamboru, Damask and Alagamo, and not human names.

Boko Haram had earlier shared pamphlets among residents of Gombe State warning them not to vote in the upcoming general elections.

The leader of the sect, Abubakar Shekau has also threatened to disrupt the elections.

Literature*A Practical Example Of How The Human Mind Works* by donogaga(op): 6:08pm On Feb 15, 2015
Analysis of the Below picture can tell us a lot about how different people think.
- For young men, it's a picture of a lady with a nice arse but only the most observant will notice that she is crossing a street.

- The really observant will notice that she is wearing a thong.

- For older men, she appears to be a respectable woman - with a nice arse - on her way to work.

- The perverts among them will imagine her naked.

- Wiser men will ponder the presence of mind of the photographer to take the shot in the face of such beauty and be grateful that they shared it with humanity.

- For half of the women, this is an ordinary woman who should not have left home dressed that way.

- The other half will think she is a slut but wonder where she bought that blouse.

- Older women will imagine the misery that the woman's arse will cause by the time she reaches 50.

- But only children, the extremely intelligent and the celibate will notice that the white car is being driven by a dog.

HealthA New Solution That Stops Snoring And Lets You Sleep by donogaga(op): 3:26pm On Feb 02, 2015
If you constantly feel exhausted, experience headaches for no obvious reason or have high blood pressure, it could be the result of snoring.

More than a simple annoyance, snoring is also the most common symptom of a potentially serious health problem—obstructive sleep apnea (OSA).

Over 18 million Nigerians snore, and it’s related to OSA. People who suffer from OSA repeatedly and unknowingly stop breathing during the night due to a complete or partial obstruction of their airway.  It occurs when the jaw, throat, and tongue muscles relax, blocking the airway used to breathe.  The resulting lack of oxygen can last for a minute or longer, and occur hundreds of times each night.

OSA has been linked to:

Acid reflux
Frequent nighttime urination
Memory loss
Stroke
Depression
Diabetes
Heart attack
Consistent lack of sleep

People over 35 are at higher risk. OSA can be expensive to diagnose and treat — up to NGN1,050,000 — and those treatments can sometimes be quite painful. Plus, they're not always covered by insurance.

However, a recent study published by Eastern Virginia Medical School's Division of Sleep Medicine concluded that wearing a simple chinstrap while sleeping can be an effective treatment for OSA.

The chin strap, which is now available from a company called MySnoringSolution, works by supporting the lower jaw and tongue, preventing obstruction of the airway.  It’s made from a high-tech, lightweight, and super-comfortable material.  Thousands of people have used the MySnoringSolution chinstrap and reported better sleeping, and better health overall because of it.

An effective snoring solution for just NGN25,000

The “My Snoring Solution” Chinstrap is available exclusively from the company’s website, which is currently offering a limited time “2 for 1” offer.  The product also comes with an unconditional 90-day, money-back guarantee!

If you want to stop snoring once and for all, without expensive CPAPs or other intrusive devices, this may be the solution you’ve been waiting for.

SportsTop 10 Probable Deadline Day Signings by donogaga(op): 3:14pm On Feb 02, 2015
#10. Jackson Martinez to Tottenham!!!

The Colombian striker has been recently linked with a move to Tottenham. Jackson Martinez has been on the radars of Arsenal and Liverpool, but the 28-year-old seems set to snub the Gunners and the Reds for Hotspur switch. Martinez has a buy-out clause of £27.5 million. On the other hand, Tottenham boss Mauricio Pocchetino is willing to offload both Adebayor and Soldado to fund the move.

#9. Wesley Sneijder to Juventus!!!
Juventus manager Massimilano Allegri has revealed that Old Lady is interested in securing the services of the 30-year old Dutch international. Wesley Sneijder is currently playing his trade in Turkey for Galatasaray, but it seems that he wants a new challenge. As a matter of fact, Juventus has been rumored to have agreed for a £15 million fee for the services of the Dutch attacking midfielder, but the move is yet to be materialized.

#8. Sami Khedira to Arsenal!!!
The German midfielder has fallen out of Carlo Ancelotti’s favor, losing his place to his compatriot, Toni Kroos. According to the latest news, Sami Khedira is on the verge of completing his move to Arsenal. The Gunners are in the market for a strong holding midfielder and Khedria seems to fit the bill. However, Real Madrid might not be that willing to let him go, since Luka Modric is injured.

#7. Morgan Schneiderlin to Tottenham!!
The 25-year-old French midfielder has been on the radars of Arsenal and Tottenham, but the Spurs seems to have an edge over the Gunners. Arsenal’s interest in Morgan Schneiderlin is nothing new, but it seems that Tottenham are hell-bent on securing the services of Southampton’s holding midfielder. In order to land the French midfielder, Spurs are willing to spend €20 million.

#6. Cuadrado to Chelsea!!!
According to the latest news, Juan Cuadrado has agreed personal terms with Chelsea ahead of its expected transfer to Stamford Bridge. The Blues see the Colombian attacking midfielder as a boost for their roster. No fee has been finalized yet, but reports in Italy reveal that Cuadrado has agreed on personal terms to make the switch happen. Chelsea will have to spend £28.6 million to acquire his services.

#5. Ezequiel Lavezzi to Liverpool!!!
Liverpool have been one of the main suitors to the Argentine winger Ezequiel Lavezzi. The Reds came close to signing the 29-year-old last summer, but they might do so in the final days of the January’s transfer window. Lavezzi has expressed his desire to leave PSG and the move to Anfield Road could be finalized for just €8 million. Liverpool need a fast and strong winger, which Lavezzi is.

#4. Petr Cech to Arsenal!!!
Arsenal have suffered a lot in the backlines and the Polish goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny hasn’t done any better between the posts. He has been a liability in the last couple of weeks, with David Ospina waiting for his chance. On the other hand, Petr Cech has been a mere spectator since the arrival of Thibaut Courtois to Stamford Bridge. Arsenal could secure the services of the 32-year-old goalkeeper for a mere €10 million.

#3. Mats Hummels to Manchester United!!!
Manchester United are in the market for a solid centre-back and after failing to land Atletico Madrid Diego Godin, they have concentrated all their efforts on bringing the 26- year-old German defender to the Old Trafford. With Borussia Dortmund nearing the relegation zone, Mats Hummels decision to love his beloved club might be somewhat easier. United are willing to spend €35 million to complete the transfer.

#2. Marco Reus to Real Madrid!!!
While Mario Goetze and Robert Lewandowski left Borussia Dortmund while they were going through tough times, Marco Reus decided to stick with the Black and Yellows, even though the ship is sinking right through the ocean floor. However, a player of his caliber can’t risk to play in an inferior league. According to the latest news, Marco Reus has agreed to join the Spanish giants for a fee in the region of €20 million, a real bargain given the 25-year-old world-class qualities.

#1. Andre Schurrle to Wolfsburg!!!
According to the latest news, Andre Schurrle has expressed his desire to leave Chelsea for Wolfsburg. The German World Cup winner has been linked with a return to the Bundesliga since the transfer window opened earlier this month. Chelsea has put a £22.5 million price tag for the German attacking midfielder. Wolfsburg currently sit in the second place in the Bundesliga, and Schurrle is up for the challenge.

PoliticsObasanjo Laid Foundation For Corruption In Nigeria – Don by donogaga(op): 2:41pm On Jan 31, 2015
A political scientist and speaker at the 39th public lecture on “Bullet versus Ballot: Interrogating Nigeria’s 4th Republic Electoral’s Consultations,” Prof. Adekunle Amuwo, said former President Olusegun Obasanjo failed Nigeria during his tenure.

The lecture was organised by the Covenant University, Ota, Ogun State.

Amuwo, who claimed he had full knowledge of how Obasanjo emerged the President of the country in 1999, said that the former President’s rule was the genesis of the level of corruption currently being experienced in the country.

While saying the Peoples Democratic Party had not moved Nigeria forward for an inch, he described Jonathan’s rule as the legacy Obasanjo left behind.

Describing the current political situation as crucial and critical in the history of the country, he urged the electorate to change the fortune of the country by choosing the ‘ballot’ rather than the ‘bullet.’

He said, “We are in a democracy run by professional non-democrats — men and women who have the financial muscle to ‘outmuscle’ the electorate and the rest of the country because about 70 per cent of the population of Nigeria is poor.

“In 2001, Obasanjo promised Nigeria would enjoy 24/7 power supply, but he failed. His election in 1999 was massively flawed. He just had to win and Olu Falae had to lose.

“He represented the Western powers and Africa and did a lot for the two groups by providing an enabling business environment for them to thrive. But he did little for Nigeria.

“He had all the powers to tame the monster of corruption in the country, but he did not do anything.

“Things have become so bad that the United States now threatens that if we don’t compose ourselves, they would not give us visas. It’s ridiculous.”

Stating that no reforms had been taking place since President Goodluck Jonathan emerged the country’s leader, Amuwo said there is structural violence against the electorate.

“Nigeria can recover. However, the ballot should be used to do this instead of the bullet,” he said.

Some scholars had, at a consultative meeting of media scholars and practitioners on the 2015 general elections, said the security of lives and property of the electorate was important for its success.

Speaking on behalf of the Chancellor, Covenant University and founder of the Living Faith Chapel, the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Charles Ayo, said the programme was aimed at reshaping the destiny of the country in the forthcoming elections.

“This will hopefully play a major role to improve the existing security situation in the country before, during and after the elections,” he said.

Christianity EtcSyria ‘adultress’ Survives Jihadist Stoning by donogaga(op): 2:33pm On Jan 31, 2015
A Syrian woman stoned by the jihadist Islamic State group for alledged adultery and left for dead has miraculously walked away from the brutal punishment, a monitor said Friday.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said the jihadist group sentenced the woman to be “stoned for adultery” in the town of Raqa, the IS stronghold in northern Syria.

Militants carried out the punishment and “stoned her until they thought she had died,” said the Britain-based monitor.

But just as they had stopped pelting her with stones, the woman stood up and tried to flee.

“An IS militant was about to open fire at her when an Islamist jurist intervened and stopped him saying it was God’s will that she did not die,” said the Observatory, without specifying when it happened.

The IS jurist told the woman she can walk free but that she must “repent”.

According to the Observatory, at least 15 people, nine of them women, have been executed by jihadists in Syria, including Al-Qaeda-linked militants, since July for alleged adultery and homosexuality.

The IS and the Al-Nusra Front, Al-Qaeda’s Syria branch, hold large swathes of Syria and have imposed a brutal version of Islamic law in territory under their control.

Abeokuta Meeting: 5 Questions Obasanjo Asked Jonathan

The reconciliatory visit of President Goodluck Jonathan was a tensed one as former president, Olusegun Obasanjo put him on the hot seat in his Hilltop residence in Abeokuta on Monday, Leadership exclusively gathered.

Flanked by the general overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Pastor Enoch Adeboye and the founder of Living Faith Church, Bishop David Oyedepo, who were there as witnesses to the meeting on request of the Egba chief, asked him questions which he had earlier thrown up in his correspondence to Jonathan.

Questions from Obasanjo mother of all meetings with Jonathan include the five highlighted below.

The former president asked him to confirm if he did not agree to only run for one term, his slow action to tackling the Boko Haram menace when it was just budding despite warning, why he gave licence to Tompolo and Asari Dokubo to import arms under the names of their private companies and other issues.

He queried, “Tell the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth,

(1) Did you agree to run for only one term or not?

(2) What did you tell me was your reason for not going after Boko Haram insurgents even when I told you this will boomerang?

(3) What happened to Nigeria’s external reserve and Sovereign Wealth Fund?

(4) Did you give licence to Niger Delta militants (Dokubo and Tompolo) to import arms in the name of their privately owned companies? If so, for what reason?

(5) Did you not get correspondence from the United States consulate that a certain citizen named Buruji Kashamu is indicted for drug trafficking? Why did you appoint the same Kashamu as South West leader of PDP rather than hand him over to the US? And did the PDP give automatic Senate ticket to a wanted and convicted drug baron?

See LEADERSHIP Friday for President Jonathan’s response.

Romance12 Traits Of An Abusive Relationship by donogaga(op): 10:34pm On Jan 13, 2015
This is such a stunning article... I hope it can be read by as many people as possible.

“My boyfriend is jealous. He gets furious when I won’t dump my friends and spend all of my free time with him,” the weeping woman shared with me. “I was so thrilled to have a devoted boyfriend that I ignored the warning signs of abuse. I convinced myself that he loved me, and that things would get better with time. I was wrong - completely wrong.”

I frequently hear this cry from Men and Women who are in a bad relationship. Some christians often believe that domestic violence, abuse and manipulation doesn’t occur within the church, but nothing could be further from the truth. Sometimes men are portrayed as sadistic; however women can be equally dangerous. In an attempt to help singles avoid a destructive relationship or a painful marriage, This is an insight on how to detect a toxic, abusive person.

An abuser is typically:

1. Charming.
This person quickly smothers the other with gifts and praise. He/she immediately pushes for an exclusive relationship using phrases such as “I can’t live without you” or “I’ll kill myself if you leave.” A clear indication something is wrong.

2. Jealous.
He/she views others as a threat to the relationship and relentlessly accuses you of flirting. “I know you are having an affair.” The irony is that the abuser is usually the cheater.

3. Manipulative.
Abuse and manipulation go hand-in-hand. This person easily detects vulnerability in others and uses it as a weapon to control, belittle and demean the victim. “You are weak and ugly; no wonder you were abused as a kid.”

4. Controlling.
Constant checking on the whereabouts of the victim is a common trait for the abuser. “I checked the last phone call you received. So don’t lie to me.” A male controller often refuses to let his girlfriend have a job, she might “meet someone.”

5. A Victim.
An abuser doesn’t take any responsibility for his/ her poor choices. They are never at fault. When she loses her job, or he gets into a fight, someone else is to blame. “You make me hit you” or “I drink because you stress me out.”

6. Narcissistic.
The whole world revolves around the abuser and his/her needs. This person is invigorated by the fact that the victims “walks on eggshells” and live in fear of the next outburst.

7. Inconsistent.
Mood swings are a common trait for an abuser. One minute he/she is happy and sweet, the next they are pounding a fist or throwing a tantrum.

8. Critical.
Verbally assaulting others is a way of life for the abuser. “You are a stupid, fat, disgusting tramp. You can’t ever leave me; no other man would have you” or “Ha! You call yourself a man. You are nothing but a mama’s boy.”

9. Disconnected.
Isolation from family and friends is a key goal for the abuser because it forces the victim into total submission. “Your family causes too much trouble for us. I don’t want you seeing them anymore.”

10. Hypersensitive.
The slightest offence sends the abuser ranting. Everyone is out to “get him/her.” “My boss had it in for me; I bend over backwards on my job but I still got fired.”

11. Vicious and cruel.
A significant number of abusers harm children and animals as well as a partner. Intimidation and inflicting pain fuels his/her power. “If I can’t have you, no one will” or “I just pretended to love you so that you would sleep with me.”

12. Insincerely repentant.
He/she will swear to never “behave like that again.” But unless an abuser receives professional help and solid accountability it’s unlikely the abuse will disappear.

NB - After marriage these behaviours typically escalate, therefore it’s crucial to recognise the warning signs now. Tell someone you can trust, and get help. And don’t believe the lie that it’s not abuse until he/she hits you.

When an abuser loses control they often react with rage and the abuse intensifies. Therefore, make a plan before breaking off the relationship. Contact a counselor or local domestic abuse hotline and/or safe house for help

This insight is for whom it may concern. Over the years, I’ve watched numerous abusers deceive and manipulate the church. He/she often knows exactly what to say and do to get the church “on their side.” Although Christians are called to be loving and kind, we should not ignore toxic, sinful behaviour. That is neither love or compassion.

PoliticsWe Need A Total Transformation In Our Dear Country. by donogaga(op): 7:30am On Jan 05, 2015
Was privy to an info about how an infrastructural development project in Nembe (Bayelsa State) was awarded to the highest bidder. The JV Operator was basically forced by the Federal Government, despite all propositions to award the job to the most competitive bidder. This has left a sour taste because not only was the contract sum reviewed upward several times but the project has been abandoned!
This ought not to be so... Nooo! not in Nembe, not in Bayelsa State, not in the Niger Delta and certainly not in Nigeria.

We need a total transformation in our dear country.

Oh... I pray and I look forward to a great Nigeria...
A country where:
- Contracts are awarded to the most competitive entity.
- Projects are completed and not abandoned halfway after monies have been disbursed.
- Infrastructures are built to world class standards and supervising engineers don't take PRO and shut their eyes to compromises in quality of works being done.
- Competency and hardwork, rather than criminality and stealing rewarded.
-The security, safety & life of every individual citizen is as important and taken seriously as that of the politicians.
- The diversification of the economy from oil based will not only be rhetoric.
- The drivers on our roads are saner and maintain basic traffic rules.

What kind of Nigeria do you want to see my friends? It's possible. The change must start now. We can and must contribute.

Christianity Etc10 Reasons You May Not Hear The Whole Truth In The Church…. by donogaga(op): 6:17pm On Dec 31, 2014
The answer is very simple and direct – the church of today is built on a BUSINESS MODEL that cannot sustain the hard reality of the Gospel of Christ. Truth is a hard pill that everybody claims to want, but few are willing to swallow. In John 6:66, many of the disciples of Jesus deserted Him when He stepped up the level of truth He was telling them. If Jesus had depended on them financially, His ministry would have been severely jolted. But, instead, Jesus ran a tight, modest ship. Paul, and the other Apostles, followed His steps. For that is the only way that the integrity of the Gospel can be sustained – away from the corrupting influence of mammon.

The church is described as the Ground and Pillar of Truth (1 Timothy 3:15). However, if the church will indeed preach the undiluted truth of the Gospel, we dare not continue to follow the business model we are using today. This business model thrives on using ‘wisdom’ to manage the following 10 factors. (Space may not permit me to develop these points fully, but hopefully I may be able to re-visit this in the coming days, God willing).

(1) A GOOD PRODUCT WITH MASS APPEAL: The true Gospel of Christ is not designed for mass appeal. Jesus made it clear that the road that leads to life is narrow, and FEW will be found in it (Matthew 7:14, Luke 13:24). The way of Christ, though bountiful in the final analysis, begins at a cross and winds its way through several avenues including tribulation, suffering, persecution, reproach, trials, temptations, self-denial, etc. This will be a tough sell in our hedonistic age. So for strategic marketing reasons, the Gospel has been re-packaged to tone down the hardship of the cross, and highlight the positive, eternal values of the Gospel – prosperity, abundance, health, happiness, etc. With this re-packaging, the ‘Gospel’ now attracts sheep in large numbers.

(2) BRAND PROMISE: To enhance a high volume of loyal sheep (customers), there has to be a consistent message – a good brand promise – that is dangled before the sheep to keep them happy and hopeful. And that is why most churches present God, MAJORLY, as the happy Father that is waiting to solve all our problems, kill our enemies, make us very wealthy, make us famous, and keep us happy in this world. (Those who truly know the Gospel will testify that this is DEFINITELY NOT the heart of the Gospel message. As a matter of fact, it is contrary to the heart of the Gospel.)

(3) A CHARISMATIC BRAND AMBASSADOR: This is a critical aspect of the business model, because the Brand Ambassador must be revered and authoritative enough to influence the sheep to part with their resources with as little resistance as possible. This goal will succeed on the twin-platform of the exaltation of the Brand Ambassador coupled with the gullibility of the sheep. This is why Pastors are today ‘higher’ than the rest of the sheep – contrary to 1 Peter 5:3, and the clear biblical pattern that churches should be led by a team of elders (Acts 14:23, 15:22, 20:17, Hebrews 13:17). Welcome to the era of celebrity General Overseers and Pastors!

(4) ACCESS TO SLUSH FUNDS: Slush fund is generally described as money that is not openly accounted for, and can be used for all sorts of purposes, including personal expenses, and other expenditure that is beneath the radar of general scrutiny. It is relatively easy to get, and is completely tax-free. Doesn’t this sound like church revenue to you? We really shouldn’t be surprised that many churches are springing up everywhere. There is easy money in this business model!

(5) REGULAR INCOME: Any good business man will tell you that a regular, guaranteed cash-flow is the soul of any business. So the sheep in our business model must commit to a regular, steady, compelled donation. Impoverished sheep must pay this donation – even if doing so will mean they cannot pay their rent, feed their family, or pay hospital bills. Behold, welcome to the world of the monthly tithe system in the church. This is why most churches do not joke with tithes, and will often lace non-compliance with curses from Malachi 3. (For those that know the Bible, giving in the New Testament dispensation of grace is ‘as every man proposes in his heart’. This is why God loves a cheerful giver, not a constrained giver!)

(6) EXPANDING INCOME: Apart from the regular income, a franchise that will succeed and thrive must know how to devise means of widening the revenue stream through strategic thinking. The Old Testament contains several ordinances on diverse offerings and gifts COMMANDED BY THE LAW: first-fruit offerings, first-born offerings, prophetic offerings, etc. By exhuming these ordinances, the church is getting richer every minute. Hey, did Jesus Christ not become a fulfilment of the law so that believers can be elevated to a higher form of life where our ALL belongs to God because He has purchased us with His blood – along with all that we own? Sshhh… (be quiet) – most sheep find this ‘revelation’ really offensive. (They need to ‘tie’ God’s hands with the self-justification that comes with obeying the law! So, for instance, God MUST open the windows of heaven BECAUSE they pay tithe!)

(7) READY, WILLING MARKET: This is also a critical factor in our business model. And there is indeed a ready market. The Bible has guaranteed that the last days will be perilous. Believers will not want to hear the true Gospel that will challenge and stretch them. With itching ears, they will scout for teachers that will feed them with fables (2 Timothy 4:3-4). So, already, there is a ready market of sheep that is happily waiting to be exploited. And where there is demand, there must be supply. It is a game of numbers. So, unscrupulous shepherds are cashing in big time….

(cool AN EXPANDING MARKET: This is where it gets more interesting. Sheep that are being fleeced will go out and scout for other sheep that need the magic brand promise of ‘miracles galore’. And due to the harsh economic reality and uncertainty of third world countries, there’s an unending pool of sheep to entice to the sheepfold. Special anointing services, miracle vigils, enemy-slaughter nights, etc, are the induction centres for catching new sheep, and tantalising old ones.

(9) BRAND LOYALTY: Business thrives on competition. And our church business model is not much different. Have you ever wondered why there seems to be little unity among the big franchise churches in Nigeria? (If they are all truly building the same Kingdom of God, shouldn’t there be more oneness?) To facilitate brand loyalty, sheep are forbidden from donating their tithes to any other franchise. “You must pay it into the storehouse where you are being fed….” Haven’t you heard that before?

(10) A SPECIAL REQUEST: If this write-up makes any sense to you so far, please, please pray that the Holy Spirit will help you to discern if what is going on today is indeed of God, or if empire-building has been mixed with the Great Commission of Christ. If the Holy Spirit gives you a new insight, that’s your No 10.

Beyond this half-ironic piece lies a great truth. Disciples of Christ should be more discerning in these last days. We must learn to see beyond the façade of religiosity. We must learn to look beyond the stature of men of God. Like Berean Christians, we must go back to evaluate what we are hearing from the pulpit. Is the Spirit of Christ in you in harmony with the general thrust of the message of the church today? If not, would you please pray that the Lord will chase out all those that are buying and selling in His temple; and give us men that the allure of filthy lucre has not entrapped. It is only then that the true Gospel of Jesus Christ will return and flourish in our land.

Thanks for reading, God bless.

wunmi590:
Good day house,

Some times it baffles me why some married men go out to cheat on their wife, despite being married.

I was with my friends one day so we were discussing about girls, but don't know how I started telling my guys that I can never cheat on my wife, even now I don't do that so why would I do that when I get married, I don't know may be because am a catholic and it's in the doctrine of the church that when you sleep with another women after being married you stop receiving the body of Christ (Holy communion) please catholics I am stand to b corrected on this...

But I told my friends I can't just imagine finding myself untop of another woman/girl while I am married, my friends started abusing me.

But house please is it good to bleep other woman after being married?
Nice piece. However, We must understand that Cheating is not a mistake, its a choice!!!

Hence, It is high time people start taking their marriages serious, everybody knows him/herself very well, if you know that you have problem keeping to your marriage vow, then, please remain single, it's better than making a vow and not keeping it.

I don't know the party that is more involved, be it husbands or wives, but please, if you're into extra-marital affairs, please, stop and retrace your steps. Also, if you're planning to get married, ensure and decide to keep to your marital vow, and as you're doing so, you're doing yourself a lot of good as well as putting a stop to all ridiculous stories we hear, see and read about couples cheating on each other.

Apart from the fact that cheating on one's spouse is unhealthy in every aspect one may look at it, it is also full of regrets at the end of it all.

A food for thought for us all, treat your spouse the way you want him/her to treat you.
Family10 Types Of People YOU Shouldn’t Bring With You Into 2015... by donogaga(op): 7:08am On Dec 23, 2014
Here is the LIST OF LIFE. This is indeed a must read for everyone, who wants to be successful in 2015. This year has flown by in the blink of an eye and we’re on the verge of yet another year — a year full of possibility.

What you will accomplish next year greatly depends on the people you surround yourself with. Or, in other words, it greatly depends on which people you decide not to surround yourself with.

When bringing in the new year, be sure not to bring all your garbage with you. Leave these toxic individuals in 2014; you’ll feel much lighter, allowing you to get a great running start on the year to come.

1. The people who make your life more stressful.

Stress isn’t necessarily a bad thing — in fact, it’s what you make it out to be. If you believe stress is bad for you, then it will be bad for you. If you use stress as the motivator it is, to motivate you to act, then stress can actually be rather healthy.

However, you should aim to only be stressed by situations and not by people. If you have people in your life who are constantly managing to stress you out, that’s your mind telling you — and trying to motivate you — to remove them from your life.

Life is stressful as it is. You don’t need someone making it more so.

2. The people who use you.

To be fair, everyone uses everyone — and usually it’s OK. We interact with others because we find that it will benefit us in some way. If we didn’t believe it would, then we wouldn’t find sufficient reason to interact with them.

Sometimes we find people in our lives who use us in ways that end up hurting us. Most people will use us and by doing so, either maintain or improve our wellbeing.

Then you have those toxic individuals who use you and leave you worse off, sucking you dry and feeding off you like a parasite.

These sorts of people have no place in your life; don’t bring them into 2015.

3. The people who don’t respect you.

Every respectful person deserves to be respected in return; that’s how respect works. If you find that you have a person or people in your life who have difficulty giving you the respect you give them, tell them to buzz off.

Have enough respect for yourself to never allow others to disrespect you and remain a part of your life.

4. The people who always manage to hurt you.

People can be silly sometimes. The people we keep a part of our lives are the people we care about — or at least, that ought to be the case. Some of these individuals, sadly, end up hurting us and causing us pain.

The problem is that when others cause us pain, we’re reminded of how much those people mean to us. If they could hurt us emotionally, we must care for them and what they think of us a great deal — so we allow them to remain a part of our lives.

Often, we’ll even allow these individuals to take up more room. People hurt other people — it’s just the way the world works. But if you have someone in your life who can’t manage to stop hurting you, do yourself a favor and cut that person off.

Pain is only good if it teaches you a lesson. In this case, the lesson is to stop allowing others to use you as a punching bag.

5. The people who can’t seem to stop lying to you.

Everyone lies. In fact, within the first few minutes of meeting a new person, that person is likely to lie to you a handful of times. Most lies are harmless, but that all changes when the people who are lying to you are the people you trust.

Fill your life with trustworthy people and you’ll be far better off. You can find lies just about anywhere. Finding the truth, on the other hand, is much more rare.

6. The people who smile to your face and then insult you behind your back.

These are the scum of the scum, cowards that don’t have the guts to speak their minds. These individuals enjoy pretending to be your friend while telling the rest of the world that you’re a piece of sh*t.

These people will ruin your reputation and, as most of us now know, reputation matters a whole lot in the world we live in. Only idiots would start a new year with these sorts of individuals in their life.

7. The people who don’t care about you, but love to pretend they do.

We’ve all had people in our lives who act like our friends only when it’s convenient for them.

These toxic individuals are “pseudo friends” — a lot of fun to hang out with, and more than willing to accept help, but when you need their help they’re miraculously nowhere to be found.

These individuals are especially toxic because they give you the illusion of a safety net. You think you can lean on them for support, but when you reach for their shoulder, you fall over and hit the ground.

8. The people who drag you back into your old lifestyle.

Life is only interesting and exciting if it’s constantly progressing. Only when we’re constantly moving forward, constantly improving ourselves and our surroundings, are we able to find contentment and happiness.

Most people always manage to keep people in their lives who are holding on to the life you once had.

You have worked hard to progress and make changes, but these individuals prefer life the way it used to be, and do their best to bring you back to the cave you just crawled out of.

Be wary of these folks, they’re often difficult to pinpoint and always manage to revert the progress you worked so hard to make.

9. The people who hold you back.

There’s a fact to life that I’ve grown to accept over the past few years — a fact that isn’t especially pleasant, but nonetheless necessary to accept as truth: Many people in your life, the people you call friends, shouldn’t be a part of your life.

As time passes, we change as individuals. Our hopes and goals change, often leaving the relationships we have in place outdated.

Many of the people in your life likely don’t want to live the life you’re building for yourself. Because they’re egocentric, they’ll do their best to create their version of their ideal life and drag you into it.

Most times, people fail to create the life of their dreams because they surround themselves with people aiming for something entirely different.

If your goals aren’t aligned, your lives aren’t either.

10. The people just taking up space.

Everything in life is limited. Resources are limited. Time is limited. Space is limited. What you can accomplish within a lifetime is limited. We can’t, and never will be able to, have it all.

This is why you have to be very careful with not only what you choose to do, but with whom you choose to do it with.

You can only maintain a handful of strong relationships at any given time — you just don’t have the time, energy or mental focus to handle more.

If you’re filling your life with half-assed individuals, you’re bound to create a half-assed life. If someone isn’t adding to your life, then, by default, they’re taking away from it.

Leave them in 2014 and build a better inner circle.

Christianity Etc1 Thessalonians 5 Vs 16 (rejoice Always/evermore) by donogaga(op): 2:15am On Dec 21, 2014
Most of us find it easy to rejoice when things are going well. But as I'm studying this verse this morning I'm reminded rejoicing isn't about our personal victories in life, its about a spirit subjective to the joy God freely offers, always.

So this word "rejoice" ...

The 're' means ... do it again.

The 'joice' means ... joy.

I believe God gave us this verse because He knew finding joy would always be a battle for us. But each day we gotta "do it again…" get in His presence to find our joy, find our happy place, & find our way to un-numb our hearts towards His goodness.

This lasting joy ... it's what He offers and wow, I want that.”

Christianity EtcBehold, The Atheists' New Ten Commandments by donogaga(op): 10:42am On Dec 20, 2014
I love some of these commandments actually (Particularly number 2, 6, 7, 8 and 10). To be precise, I'm not an atheist but I feel as though I try to live my life like this anyway.

What if, instead of climbing Mount Sinai to receive the Ten Commandments from God, Moses had turned to the Israelites and asked: Hey, what do you guys think we should do?

Considering the Hebrews' bad behaviour in the Bible, what with the coveting of neighbours' wives and murdering their own brothers, that might have been a disastrous idea.

But in our own more enlightened age, we're perfectly capable of crowdsourcing our own commandments -- or, at least, that's what a new project would have us believe.

Lex Bayer, an executive at AirBnB, and John Figdor, a humanist chaplain at Stanford University, delivered their own 10 "non-commandments" in a book they co-wrote: "Atheist Heart, Humanist Mind." Bayer said the book forced him to clarify and articulate his own beliefs, and he thought others could benefit from doing the same.

"A lot of atheists' books are about whether to believe in God or not," he said. "We wanted to consider: OK, so you don't believe in God, what's next? And that's actually a much harder question."

Enter the "10 'Non-Commandments' Contest," in which atheists were asked to offer modern alternatives to the famous Decalogue. And, to sweeten the pot, the contest offered $10,000 in moolah to the winning would-be Moses. (If it helped boost atheists' public image and drum up publicity for his book, all the better, Bayer said.)

The contest drew more than 2,800 submissions from 18 countries and 27 U.S. states, according to Bayer and Figdor. The proposed "non-commandments" ranged from the quizzical ("Don't follow your nature"wink to the quixotic ("Thriving in space is the ultimate goal"wink.

A team of 13 judges selected 10 of the more sober and serious submissions, and announced the winners Friday.

There's nary a "thou shalt" among them -- nothing specifically about murder, stealing or adultery, although there is a version of the Golden Rule, which presumably would cover those crimes.

If they lack faith in the divine, the atheist "non-commandments" display a robust faith in humankind, as if Silicon Valley had replaced Sinai.

Bayer said humans are hardwired for compassion, and the scientific method and wisdom of crowds -- or the tribes that gather online each day -- will weed out bad ideas. In other words, this is an open-ended, and hopefully progressive, process, he said.

So, will the 10 ideas form a new moral foundation for atheists or build a Tower of Babel? Take a look and see what you think.

Here are the "Ten Non-Commandments" chosen as the winners:

1. Be open-minded and be willing to alter your beliefs with new evidence.

2. Strive to understand what is most likely to be true, not to believe what you wish to be true.

3. The scientific method is the most reliable way of understanding the natural world.

4. Every person has the right to control of their body.

5. God is not necessary to be a good person or to live a full and meaningful life.

6. Be mindful of the consequences of all your actions and recognize that you must take responsibility for them.

7. Treat others as you would want them to treat you, and can reasonably expect them to want to be treated. Think about their perspective.

8. We have the responsibility to consider others, including future generations.

9. There is no one right way to live.

10. Leave the world a better place than you found it.

FamilyRe: The Average Nigerian Man Is A Hypocrite by donogaga(m):
firstEVA:
The Average Nigerian man of today expects his wife/girlfriend to not depend on him financially, she should be an independent woman, she should be like the women from the west who would pay the bills when they both go out on a date.

On the other hand, the average Nigerian man of today wants a humble, loyal and submissive woman a woman who MUST NOT behave like women from the west who would challenge his authority as head, argue with him and even give him a slap when the argument becomes intense, no, mba. In other words they want gender equality but do don't want gender equality.
Isn't this the greatest hypocrisy of all times?
The average Nigerian girl has a wierd mindset. I have always held to a belief that any girl who expects financial assitance, commendation, praise, eulogy, or credit from her boyfriend might die a frustrated wretch. If he assit you financially, fine... If he doesn't, fine. Don't base your relationship solely on that.

Its wrong to see your boyfriend as an ATM.

Be that as it may, My only goal in life right now is to be happy. Genuinely, intensely and consistently happy, regardless of what that looks like to others. This should be everyone's goal in life.
