 56-year-old Paul Horner has been sentenced to one-year in prison after he refused to wed gay couple. The sentencing of Paul, a Christian priest at the Proctor Church in Vermont comes shortly after the Supreme Court’s 5-4 decision ruling that states must allow gay-marriage.

Paul Horner’s attorney, Tom Downey also said: Horner was just using his best judgement according to his rights and religious freedom in this country.’

During the court hearing, Honorable Myron Danus handed down the sentence saying: ‘Religious freedom goes both ways, Mr. Horner, It is not your place to deny individuals the same rights that everyone else has, rights that were passed down and agreed upon in a court of law.’

‘The ultimate court, the Supreme Court. It is not your decision whether or not you agree with the law but more importantly that you follow it and enforce it.’

In previous articles, Nairalander's discussed things that men secretly love, as well as things women secretly love. Some, admittedly, aren't so secret. But many of these points were general and it's a worthy conversation to get into the specific things men love about the woman in their life, but may not tell her (though, they should).

When a man is falling in love with a woman, there are many small or less obvious things about her and her personality that will bring a smile not only to his face, but also to his heart.

What are some things the man in your life probably loves about you, but may not have told you?

1. HE LOVES THE WAY HE SMILES WHEN HE THINKS ABOUT YOU.
It doesn't matter if he's stressed out at work, stuck in traffic, or just bored scrolling through Facebook. If a man is lucky, he will have a woman come into his life who can make him smile without even being in the same zip code.

Just the thought of her or hearing her name will light him up like fireworks. What's not to love about that?


2. HE LOVES WHEN HE MAKES YOU SMILE.
Have you ever noticed a guy who seemed to pick up momentum when he's being funny? Even sorta-semi-funny, but not really, but damn he was trying?

A man loves to see the woman in his life smiling, laughing, and having a good time. And even more, he loves to be the source of that smile, even if it means making dumb jokes for her to laugh at.

3. HE LOVES BEING PHYSICALLY CLOSE TO YOU.
Whether the two of you are cuddled up on the couch or standing next to each other waiting for your cab, a man loves being close to the woman in his life. It's a great way to feel connected with someone -- physically and emotionally.

It's hard to beat the feeling of the woman you care about laying on your chest or resting her head on your shoulder. Don't ask me why, it's just science.

4. HE LOVES WHEN YOU PLAY WITH HIS HAIR WHILE HE'S DRIVING.
I wish I could give you a reason for this, but all I can say is that it's the best thing ever.

Men, like anyone else, crave the feeling of being wanted. Many times, we're the pursuers in a relationship and we feel as though we're consistently trying to prove ourselves in order to get attention, a first date, a second date. You get the idea.

When we're with a woman who we feel really wants to be with us -- who gives us the same affection and effort we give her, who we feel might just fall in love with us -- there's no better feeling in the world.


7. HE LOVES WHEN YOU DO THAT FUNNY LITTLE THING YOU PROBABLY DON'T EVEN KNOW YOU DO.
Maybe you crinkle your nose when you laugh, or maybe you hit him on the shoulder when you're (a little) mad. Maybe you play with your hair when you get a little nervous.

8. HE LOVES HOW NATURAL THINGS FEEL WITH YOU.
I was going to call this point "he loves how he doesn't have to try" to convey the idea that things should come easily, but obviously, every man (and woman) has to put in consistent effort and try to make a relationship work.

But two people can just be completely comfortable together and their relationship will feel natural. They'll be content, but not in a complacent or bored way. They'll be content in a deep sigh, and look into each other's eyes and think, "So, this is how it's supposed to be ..."


9. HE LOVES GOING TO YOU FOR ADVICE.
When you really respect someone for who they are and the things they think, you value their opinion in ways that trump the thoughts of others.

You want to get their advice. You want to hear what they think about your latest conundrum. You want to get their input and perspective. If the man in your life not only asks for your opinion, but really takes it to heart and factors it into his decisions, take it as a great sign.

10. HE LOVES WHEN YOU GET PHYSICAL WITH HIM.
No, I don't just mean sexually (though no guy will complain about the woman in his life initiating sex); I'm referring to the little things -- the random hugs, the random kisses on his cheek, the random hand on his knee while you're sitting next to him, or the arm around him while you're walking.

These are things that, dare I say, are more intimate than sex. Any two people who are attracted to each other can have sex, but the smaller physical gestures are things you only do with someone you really care about.

They're things that literally connect the two of you together. They're things that combine your energy and make "you and me" into "us."

11. HE LOVES LOOKING INTO YOUR EYES.
Looking into another person's eyes can be a little awkward. You're not really sure where to look, which eye to look at, or maybe you should just look at the bridge of their nose.

But not with you. The awkwardness dissipates and is replaced by excitement.

It's replaced by hope. It's replaced by love -- a love that can only grow between two people who open the windows to their souls and allow one to reach through embrace the other. A calm serenity that makes you want to hold your gaze, not turn away.

When a woman is right for a man - and I mean, when she is really right for him -- there will never be a list long enough to explain all the things he loves about her.
There will never be a word strong enough to describe how he feels. There will never be a way for him to communicate how deeply he cares for her.

All he will be able to do when she asks him, "What's that look for?" is smile, shake his head, and say, "Oh, nothing ..." Because sometimes, that's all he can muster.
But believe me, it's just his way of telling you that no words will ever suffice -- only love will.

50-year old South African woman, Lerato Pitso is believed to have the biggest backside in Africa. She shares the ordeal and challenges of having a huge buttocks and her near suicidal thought.


 
Life seems to be full of imbalances, while some people complain of too much, others never have enough. As some women cry over having small backsides and head for implants, some women somwhere in the world are having too much of it.
 
This is the case of Lerato Pitso, a 50-year old South African woman who is regarded as the woman with the biggest buttocks in Africa.
 
This endowment, she says has been almost like a curse on her as she bemoans about not getting real love from men, who only see her as a sex object.
 
 
“At one stage I wanted to commit suicide because I felt like I’m not good enough. Men only want to sleep with me. They don’t love me. Sometimes I hear a camera’s shutter and when I turn to see what is happening, I see people taking pictures of my backside,”
 
Pitso is currently on a crash diet and intensive physical excercises. She strongly hopes to meet the man of her dreams one day. She participated in the City of Johannesburg’s Weight Loss Challenge that literally saved her life. At the time of the contest she was weighing 120kg and had serious health problems.
 
“I’ve been battling with my weight since I was a teenager. I was on the verge of committing suicide. This challenge saved my life.
 

 
“I was tired of people being unkind to me, whispering as I walked past and others taking photos of me from behind. That was humiliating. I tried several diets. I would shed a few kilos only to put them back on because [the fitness trainers] never taught me how to eat properly”, Pitso said.

A private satellite has been designed by South African teenage girls and it is scheduled to be launched in the first quarter of 2016.

South Africa must be buzzing right now with this inspirational achievement by teenage girls involving the design of the first private satellite in Africa. Popular reports state that the satellite will be officially launched in the first quarter of 2016. It is more than a mere project of technological innovation in Africa but also a positive shift in the participation of the African girl child. This has been described as an aberration to the norms of the past with the boys being at the forefront of such deeds.
 
According to sources, one of the teenagers named Nina-Rose Clarke of Pinelands High school has increased tremendously in confidence which can be testified to by young women.
 
I never thought building things could be this interesting. I am loving this experience. It’s so exciting to be exposed to more than just drawing and studying ideas. Constructing stuff is so much better,” Clarke said.
 
Pupils from across Cape Town witnessed the launch of this project backed up by the Meta Economic Development Organisation (Medo). In the course of the programme, they were tasked with engineering their own ‘jiggy-bot’– an electrical device, using diverse mechanisms to light up a bulb and move. The next segment would be carried out during week-long camps over school holidays called SPACETrek, sources say.

At this stage, young women who make it through the earlier workshop will create their satellite payload experiments, and test them with the aid of high altitude weather balloons and radio communication. This programme is expected to inspire young African women, while equipping them with the knowledge they need to face the challenges of a previously male-dominated sector.
 
This is an indication of a better future for the African race with the influx of more technologicial innovations of this standard.

Adenike Adeleke is launching her own reality show to be called ‘Keeping up with Nikos’

Looks like haven’t seen all yet from the popular Adeleke family from Osun State who have blessed Nigerian music lovers with Davido and his cousins, B-Red and Shina Rambo.

NET gathered that another member of the family who is also a cousin of the HKN boss, Adenike Adeleke is set to launch her own reality fashion show. Titled ‘Keeping up with Nikos’, the reality show is a series which is being planned to air periodically on YouTube.

Adenike is the younger sister of HKN acts, Shina Rambo and B-Red and days ago, Davido also intimated fans about the upcoming show which got many fans excited.

In demand that President Muhammadu Buhari breaks his silence on the lingering National Assembly crisis, members of the Femi Gbajabiamila-led faction of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the House of Representatives were in Aso Rock on Wednesday night to meet with the president.

In an hour closed-door parley with 29 other aggrieved colleagues, Gbajabiamila raised the alarm that the recalcitrant members are indeed plotting to defect to the rival Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). They urged the President to call the Speaker, Yakubu Dogara to order, especially over his refusal to heed party directives, which led to the commotion in the House, soon after its June 9 inauguration.

The group recalled that Buhari and APC state governors had severally admonished the House members to abide by the party’s decision, but that Dogara and 38 other APC lawmakers continue to collude with the PDP to disobey the President, bringing the APC and its government to ridicule before Nigerians. The group told Buhari:
“The conduct of the 39 APC members colluding with the PDP is tantamount to affront, ultimately targeted at polarising our party so as to give room for many of them to decamp to the PDP.

It is therefore imperative for Mr. President to take a stand and save the integrity of the party, by calling to order, the 39 members, which inciude the Speaker and the Deputy Speaker, to respect, honour and obey our party leaders and their directives.

We, as loyal party members, shall continue to abide by the party constitution, respect and honour our party leaders and their directives. We strongly appeal to you to direct the Speaker to return to our fold and be truly elected Speaker on APC platform.

He should be directed to announce the other four party Principal Officers positions as directed by the party as it has always been the convention.”
Gbajabiamila later told newsmen that the President’s response to their demands was reassuring expressing enthusiasm that the party’s will would prevail in its effort to resolve the crisis.

The Central Bank of Nigeria has warned bank customers to guard carefully their ATM cards so as to avoid being victims to fraudsters. CBN discloses series of ways by which fraudsters can defraud customers.


 
If you operate a bank account, then you would not be ignorant of the fact that fraudsters have severally attempted to defraud bank customers via Automated Teller Machine popularly called ATM.

Speaking at  the closing ceremony of The Central Bank of Nigeria's stakeholders’ engagement sensitisation programme  tagged; “Promoting Financial Stability and Economic Development”  held in Asaba Delta State, Director of Corporate Communications, Ibrahim Mu’azu disclosed series of ways by which fraudsters can defraud customers.

He said three information on all ATM Cards are unique which the fraudsters only need to know to succeed; the number on the ATM, the expiring date and the pin numbers, adding that “ it is better to memorize it than to write it down where it can be seen”

It was also explained that if the fraudsters get the information, apart from hacking into the account of another customer’s account, they can use it online to transact business while the victims account would be debited.

The Director explained that if a customer’s ATM jams in another bank, it is the responsibility of the original bank where it was registered to destroy it, save the information from leakage and protect the customer’s account, adding that “if anything happens to the customer’s account, the bank has the liability to compensate the customer”.

Mu’azu, however said the apex bank would no longer tolerate the attitude of some commercial banks neglecting customers’ complaints, threatening that it would not hesitate to sanction any commercial bank that fails to address customers’ complaints within two weeks.

The former Benue state governor Gabriel Suswam has been arrested by the Metropolitan Police in the United Kingdom for allegedly battering his wife.
 
After his arrest, the Metropolitan Police Domestic Violence Office immediately booked him into its London detention centre, where he was to remain in detention.
 
The resident judge at the time however set a £5,000 (N1.5 m) bail bound for him before he was released.
 
He got arrested when his wife, Yemisi placed an emergency call to the police from their house in London to report that the ex-governor had physically assaulted her.
 
She explained to the police that during a minor argument in which she confronted her husband’s questionable relationship with possible mistress ‘Shidoo’, Suswam battered her and thus made her to run for her life.

Ever wonder what might happen if a python ate a porcupine? Well, wonder no more. One of these giant snakes recently dined on a porcupine and didn't live to brag about it. See its journey to death.

What happens when a python eats a porcupine? Hint: It's not pretty. A hungry snake in South Africa just found this out the hard way when it ate a porcupine for supper and died less than a week later.

On June 14, a cyclist riding along one of the mountain bike trails at the Lake Eland Game Reserve in KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa, spotted this engorged snake.
 
No one knew at first what the snake had eaten; just that it must have been something fairly large. Park rangers suspected the python feasted on a small warthog or a baby impala. 

Less than a week later, on Saturday, June 20, park rangers found the python dead near the bike trail. When they cut it open, they found a 30-pound (13.8 kilograms) porcupine.
 
It still isn't clear if this python's spiky meal was actually responsible for the predator's death. Rangers found the snake underneath a rocky ledge, where it had apparently fallen. On impact, the quills inside its engorged belly may have pierced the python's digestive tract, which could have killed the animal, Jennifer Fuller said, general manager at the game reserve.
 
Believe it or not, pythons and other snakes do sometimes eat porcupines. However, many snakes end up regretting their choice of snack because the porcupine's quills can pierce all the way through a hungry snake's body.

(4) A 20-year-old girl from South Africa known as Sarah “Saartjie” Baartman was recruited to work in a Paris zoo because of a genetic characteristic known as steatopygia — protuberant buttocks and elongated labia. Whites went to the zoo to look at her buttocks and at other naked Black women with the same shape.


(5) This is one of France’s many “Negro Villages.” It was said the village would often display Blacks to dehumanize them and compare them to animals.

(6) This is another “Negro Village” in France. It was called “The World Fair,” where nude or semi-nude Black women and children were presented in cages.

(7) Black Africans are shown participating in archery in 1904 in St Louis at an event whites organized called the “Savage Olympics Exhibition.”

( A “Negro village” similar to PT Barnum’s exhibition of Joice Heth, an enslaved African-American who was blind and almost completely paralyzed. Barnum lied to the visitors saying she was the 160-year-old nurse of President George Washington.

(9) Pygmies were made to dance during numerous exhibitions to entertain visitors at zoos in both Germany and England.

(10) This is a Somalia village exhibit at Luna Park in St. Petersburg, Russia.

(11) A Black African mother is shown with her child in a “Negro Village.”

(12) At the Parisian World Fair, this was a part of the 1931 exhibit that was so successful that it drew 34 million people that year.

(13) A Black mother and her child at a “Negro Village” in Germany.  This exhibit was known to be very popular and was even visited by conservative statesman Otto von Bismarck.

Rapper, 50 Cent was inspired enough to stop and purchase a $300k Rolls Royce before driving around New York City with MTV presenter, Nick Grimshaw for music show, ‘Soundchain’ not long ago.

50 Cent ‘needed’ to buy the $300k car moments before being interviewed by Nick for the MTV show and the Effen Vodka boss was said to be running late for his meeting with a British TV presenter because he had to make a quick pit-stop beforehand and treat himself to the luxury vehicle.

The presenter, Nick who was filming for the ‘Soundchain’ series – recalled: ‘We landed Friday night and then we went to film on Saturday and it was a really beautiful spring, summery day in New York. He was a little bit late and his people were like ‘Oh he’ll be here’.

‘Then he came and was like, ‘I needed to stop to buy something’ and it was a $300,000 convertible Rolls Royce. But it was said as if it was ‘Oh i needed some water.’

‘He arrived in the Rolls Royce, actually drove himself there. I was quite intimidated because I loved him as a fan.’

50 offered Nick a ride around the city and the star-struck TV presenter was amazed at how many people showed the New Yorker their love and admiration.

He said: ‘Then he took us out for a drive around in this car, and I mean he is so famous in New York. Every single person, everyone was running out of the shops and their buildings and there were kids chasing him up the road with no shoes on!
