The problem is that most cars are not registered and not tied to their owners. Here in Europe, if you run a red light all they need is the traffic camera taking a pic of your license plate and you will get a mail with a huge fine. Police may even knock on your door the next day.
We still have a long way to go

Here's my opinion

Ask your friend to apologise to your girlfriend, for beating here up (a man shouldn't beat a woman in the first place)
When she has accepted the apology, you will take both of them to the DPO father and settle the issue
When all these have been done and you and your girlfriend are back I your house, you should REBUKE her for calling her DPO father first- that move was uncalled for. I don't think she would have done that if her dad wasnt a police officer.
You will also need to call you friend to register your displeasure at his display of foolishness.

I think you should draw a plan scale of how long you want to work there, gather your self and come set up your company, then talk to your mum about the plan, make effort to convince her. Are you in a serious relationship? This will really help by introducing her to your mum with the assurance that you can't leave her and marry a white woman.
Also you did mention that you can be running your company and working, earning 200k monthly in addition to what comes from your company, can you still get the offer when you return? So many things to put into consideration. Then chose the best considering your family

BTW: you can help a sister look for job, I studied Mech. Engr., good at piping design, and very dedicated to work with so many other skills. God bless you

Thanks for your advice I appreciate.
1, iam no in a 'serious' relationship
2, if I get a heads up for any engineering job, I'll let you know

I fit swear say na Rad or Med Rehab.

First off: Guy march.

Next, run the numbers. What is the starting salary, so you can estimate the tax (it's highly unlikely your effective tax rate for a start will exceed 20% but VAT go do you strong thing)? Where is the hospital located, so you can have an idea of the rent (na the major expense)? Then go to any expat or pro forum to estimate the cost of living in that specific location.

What you want to find out is the amount of savings you could be looking to make annually. Your salary might look nice when you punch it in the calculator, but after the expenses, it may not look that amazing. In any case, e sure say ur savings go at least equal your Nigerian salary, while your skillset improves immeasurably.

Also have a long term plan. How long do you intend to work there? Coming back to open a private center is a good idea. But that doesn't mean there aren't opportunities for specialists in Nigeria. Get the right connect back home and you could be paid like an expat. Not a hearsay.

Good luck.

Good. Since you’re a medical professional and your job is in U.K., from the information you provided I assume that you’ll be earning at least £35,000 before taxes. Depending on your standard of living, taxes, rent and bills etc, you may be able to save up to £5,000 annually. Note that This would be much lower if you had a stay home or student non-working wife and child. If you’re also ambitious you’ll probably see the need to enroll in more study to upgrade your income and level in the organization, and that is your introduction to debt management in form of student loans etc.

This is just a rough estimate and perhaps doesn’t give a near true picture of the reality, but I just want to give you an informed idea of what your decision parameters should be based upon. The fact that the income is much higher does not mean the whole money is all yours to save, not at all. But overall, you’ll have a much better value for your hard work.

As per making money quick and starting your own business, you need to give that time. By the end of the first year, you’ll see how much is in your bank account and you’ll realize that there’s a good reason people went there but didn’t run back quick with trailer load of money after the first year.

All the best as you make the best decision for yourself.

Thanks for your analysis. The pay is actually more than that(pre-tax of course)and iam more concerned about monthly savings than annual savings. Iam meticulous when it comes to money and expenditures. Like I said it offers a better pay, better working condition and a whole lot of experience.

@donsiqua thank you for sharing your story. Before you get a balanced advise, it would require more information. You started well by stating that the job pays 200k. My questions are:

1. What’s your profession? I mean what’s your expertise? Electrical engineer? Software programmer? Etc.
2. What country abroad? Ghana, Dubai, UK, US, Spain? Abroad pass abroad you know
3. What is the title of the job abroad? Dishwasher, Customer support, Elementary Teacher, Level 2 Electrical Engineer? Just examples
4. How much is the job abroad?
5. Are you single?
6. What’s your motivation for planning to travel abroad? Do you want to migrate permanently eventually? I ask because you mentioned you’re the only son.

Finally, you mentioned something about making money to start your own business. This is a good thought, however, note that you’ll hardly make enough money to start your own business and nurture it especially when you have rent and bills to pay and family to support, if that’s your only major motivation for going abroad, think again. Usually people save for many years (at least 10 years or more) before quitting their jobs to start a business from their savings especially if you still lived with your parents or didn’t start your own family immediately.

On a side note, there are benefits of living and working abroad (depending on the abroad is) including getting access to better healthcare, infrastructure, higher education and better standard of living.

Iam a professional, I work in the medical field. The country is U.K. and the job pays at least 10x my current salary plus benefits.

I Need Serious Advice On The Path To Tow

I am currently confused right now on what to do. I need advice.

I got this job that pays 200k+ a month plus a decent accommodation. Iam very good at my job and I have been planning on opening my own. As a matter of fact I have planned to start buying the equipments needed for the company by October. Although if everything goes as planned the company would begin operation by middle of next year. I also have the intention of combining my job and running the company(it's no big deal). However I ran into this sure link of getting a very high paid job abroad. The link is legit and very sure, all I have to do is accept and I will leave ASAP but my problem here is that my parents wokldolet me step out of the country cause I'm their only son. I needed the abroad job as it would boost my income and enable me achieve what I had planned. If I should follow my initial plan the company would run on a small scale. However, with the fund from the away job I could get enough money to go into full business.

Iam thinking of defying them and go ahead with the abroad plan. But one mind is telling me to hold onto my initial plan.

Please what do I do?

Ps I have already been offered the job abroad all I have to do is to accept it. And I don't have much time left.

I need sincere inputs
Negative comments are welcomed too

am fairly intelligent. I just needed more time for myself to read for my tests and exams. Relationship problems and all that.
Relationship problems??
And you want to make first class?shocked shocked oh my God!

If you want to make first class
1 Repeat your first yr or go write JAMB
2 Leave off campus and go back to the hostel
3 Delete all social media accounts
4 End all relationships
5 Attend all lectures and make sure you understand every topic even if it means staying back after classes
6 Do all assignments, projects, term papers etc
7 Read at least 6hrs everyday
8 when you are writing an exam; aspire for A's, accept B's and manage C's. Any other grade don't exist for you apart from those

Good luck!
