Freezle: Hey! How you all doing? Just thought I help few people here with trainings. I have a year experience in the use of PDMS and Piping design. I could teach you folks for free but that going to depend on my time and all. But for the materials you can send me a mail requsting for materials on Pdms , Piping and structure design (wilkom4real@yahoo.com or 08059013444). And also I could install the PDMS 12.0 SP6 for you .Well appreciated...would send you a mail. |

maxwello.yg:I can't believe anyone would think talk more writing that syria could win this war,...we all know syria can't stand the weapons of mass destruction that would be unleashed on them. |
I think th op should have an assistant....I don't mind taking on one or two topics to help out, thats if its okay by the op;just need this thread to continue. |
What z happening to this thread,!!!!!; z the ongoing strike also affecting it ![]() |
If u guys can take time to follow this instructor, believe me u would know the basics of autocad 2d drafting, its not easy teaching a software as complicated as autocad without physical contact but the op is taking his time to make sure he breaks it down to the basics, good job man. |
@op u said at. Least 3m deep do u know what 3m looks like, the height of a saloon car is not up to 3m, so correct that post. |
Good work man....please I have a question, though its on 3d modeling:...assuming I wanto draw on the curved surface of a cylinder in autocad(2010) how do I go about it, I have tried adjusting the ucs to the curved surface of the cylinder yet it wouldn't work, I have also tried using dynamic ucs n yet no success, what I'm I doing wrong??( Sorry for jumping into another lesson) . |
This is exactly the kind of stuffs we need on nairaland,I'll also appreciate it if other autocad gurus can share certain tips to complement this young mans efforts..good work man,I'm so in n would assist in my own lil way too.. |
Sorry, just stumbled across this thread late, 1) Attend a certified welders. Training center( u can call. NIW for approved centers). and get trained. 2)Sit for the certification exam (theory and practical) ,NIW is the. accredited national body that regulates the welding practice here in nigeria, depending on the certification u want u can either sit for fillet, plate or pipe welders certification examination. 3) If u pass the theory n practical, automatically ur given a certification(certified international welder CWI) or u can get certified to american standards (CAW) but I don't know the body that organises tht of CWA here in nigeria...hope that helped |
Scarpon: wonderful may god bless the governor of abia state. enugu governor is the worst governor of 2013U can't be serious!!! |
ujchief: Rubbish! House of reps members have immunity on the floor of the house of assembly. Anything they say or do inside the confines of the legislative house is protected by immunity and they can't be prosecuted. So I guess that means if a member of the house stabs the speaker to death he has no case to ans??lol |
How can he be declared wanted?? Don't they know is house or ar we meant to believe he is on th run....this coutry is a funny place. |
Less I forget please has anyone on this forum been to lonadek; if yes please can u kindly tell Us ur experience, n also advice us if going there is worth the cost; called to find out the cost of AVEVA certification n the lady said its bout 350k. |
gabriel212: I know of Engineering institute of Technology(3w.eit.edu.com) they will teach you the fundamentals and u will apply this in ur designing.note. they dont teach drawing but fundamental knowledge required in designing. Please was it online u did urs or u went to one of there training centers;please shed more light. |
sedam: If You truly want to know more of piping design and layout. kindly visit www.sedamengineering.com. I believe the scholarship training coming up in August and last for three months is for people like you, who really want to build capacity in this area of engineering practice. Please are u guys accredited;if yes by who? |
Kennyinusa: Where can I take the training and certification. I have always wanted to take the training, couldn't find a certified training center; except Lonadek. They keep on telling me I can't take the training because I have not finished my degree program. I'm so much interested in piping Designing. I have all the latest softwares(all thanks to MTNI don't think lonadek teaches process layout( stand to be corrected;cos I downloaded there brochure n couldn't. See anythang relating to plant layout). If u go to soceity of piping engineers and designers website(sped) the accredited training center for process layout and piping design in nigeria is matricetex( located in lagos) but there training z damn expensive (over 6000 dollars) thts a million plus in naira. Don't know how many nigerians can afford that; u can visit there web site to get more info. N please for those who would like to pursue a carrier in piping its adviceable to first get the basic knowledge of process plant layout before jumping into learning PDMS (my opinion) cos u cannot put the cart before the horse; now some people might ask why, the reason is that before u can route a pipe to standards u must know the basic principles involved in routing such pipes, things like the correct pipe elevation, safety issues in routing pipes n process equipment, where to place certain instruments like flow meter, temp sensors etc., where n how to place a pump fo easy maintenance, where n how to support the pipes etc. They are too many to mention and all these are taught in process plant layout. PDMS is just a tool for designing n nauthang more, u can know how to use the software but might not even know jack about designing a process facility as small as a filling station talk more of an offshore platform. Thanks N please if anyone know of any institute or training center that teaches process plant layout please do let us know, long live pipers!!! |
Hello; I've gone tru all the post on this thread quite informative i must confess. nevertheless, nobody has mentioned anything concerning process plant layout training, cos I think for one to effectively design a process facility using these software(autoplant, PDMS etc),one has to know the basics of plant layout techniques. cos I believe there are codes meant to be followed in routing pipes n these codes are treated in plant layout(I stand to be corrected). I know a company that teaches process layout though its quite expensive( over 1million just for level one ie pipers bootcamp). Secondly I haven't read any thang about certification by professional bodies such as AVEVA,SPED,etc or is it after the training we all go home without any thang solid to show for it; cos seriously I can't imagine myself paying 150k plus fo a training n nuthang to show fo it ( n I don't mean a certificate given to me by th training center) Please I'll be grateful u guys can shed more light. Thanks |
What's actually the benefit of this NYSC program this present time?? Cos in my opinion the aim has been long defeated |
I'll advice u to think towards being ur own boss, cos th truth z that there are thousands of people like u that would be passing out so th chances of getting a job without knowing somebody in higher places is limited. So wht I'm I saying?;think towards starting sumthang of ur own. Wish u luck man |
Jonathan indeed...thts one hell of a funny poster. lmao |
kayusbrown: Ignorance smells all over your post. It is folks like you that continue to perpetuate this evil discrimination because of the fear that HND holders might outshine their degree holder counterparts if placed at same level.Hahahahah...fellow please take out time and google this sentence "who is an engineer". Thanks |
sisipelebe: y wont poly gradute rub shoulders wit u guys? Can u imagine a Bsc graduate n elect/elect cant even instal dis liltle wiring connectn nd dey claim 2 b eng. Engneer my ass.... I kn d fact stil remains dat polytechnic graduate ar regarded as technologist/technicians.... Wen it comes it comes 2 skills we r beta dan our counterpt!Laughs.... My sister don't take it personal, speaking on your comment; I think its not the function of an engineer to wire a building,an engineers function is to draw the wiring diagram( design the wiring plan) while the technician does the actual wiring; so don't be surprised if the managing director of PHCN cannot wire his house(laughs). |
P.Stacks:WORD!!! |
brightk: Are u sre u went 2 school, cos if u did den u shud know d different certificates possessed by this piple u ve mentioned and the ones dat re comparableWith all due respect I don't think this lil argument should lead to insults,I just gave my take on th matter..n as fo ur question, yeah I went to school. FYI poly deg holders are trained to be technologist or technicians as th case may be so why rub shoulders with engr deg holders. If u feel inferior u can go fo pgd n convert ur title to an engr. @ the topic; good move by the senate house |
ishmael: Polytechnic students should not just wish for the strike to end for them to go back to school; they should pray foremostly for government to meet the demands of the striking lecturers, especially removing the discrimination against polytechnic HND holders, who in recent times have been relegated to the level of NCE as against being at par with University Degree holders; even when the polytechnic is known to have a better curriculum than the university. The injustice is too obvious and too much. Let government also establish a national polytechnics commission to monitor and regulate academic activities in polytechnics as against been lumped up together with technical/vocational colleges under the NBTE. May God help the polytechnic lecturers and government to reach a positive conclusion.Young fellow,u can't expect to be trained as a technician n wanto end up answering an engineer,u should know better. In the field of engineering, we have the engineers, the technicians, the technologist, the craftmen, and the artisans. So u can't be trained to be a crafts man or technologist n come out tomorrow n wanto rub shoulders with an engineering degree holder; I don't think its done anywhere in the world(u can quote me on that) Moreover before applying to go to a polytechnic, I think u should have been aware of th degree u would be given at th end of ur program, so please let's stop all these sentimental bullshit n play our roles according to our academic background. Or tomorrow u should not be surprised when a brick layer comes out n start making noise tht he can build houses while a civil engr. cannot do so, so therefore they should be allowed to answer th tile of an engr. (Lol) |
I'm considering a career in piping design layout, but now my problem is this,if u are not a certified process plant layout engr, of wht use is it learning PDMS....cos the way I see it one has to first have the knowledge of plant layout process before venturing into using soft wares to design a layout,so do u guys teach process plant layout?? |
temisansire29: can it go for 400k? is this bullet or bulldog? The op said a civic; bulldog or bullet are accord |
I think th problem we have with our Muslim brothers in th north z illiteracy,I see no reason why a religious preaching will make a man kill his fellow man,...common sense should tell sum one that killing aint right n even if th koran says so( wich. I doubt) ones human instinct alone is enough to know that it is wrong,...plz let peace reign supreme in nigeria!!! |

). I have been trying my hand on them but still think standard practice is fundamental.
