I salute u all, the automatic transmission oil level dip stick has a cold and hot region. At what level should it be on the dip stick after a drain and refill when cold(engine turned off over night prior to drain and refill). My concern is that going by the oem recommended quantity in service manual, it ends up above the hot region on dip stick. So should the reference quantity be the amount added or the level on th dip stick.

Greetings bro.. Sorry for the late response o.. The Nigerian Castrol is made in Nigeria o and it's called magnatec .. While the USA is called magnatec Gtx.. Personally I will go with the USA brand. Better quality and obviously made in the USA .. So you rest assured that quality control is followed... The USA Castrol has better varies weight of oil to choose from. Example 0w20, 5w20, 10w30 these are all Castrol magnatec gtx .. Made in the USA ...

Nigerian made castrol has few weight grade even the Nigerian 5w30 is hard to come by ....


PS.. Let me ask you funny question.. Can you tell the difference between the Nigerian digestive biscuits and the Uk brand.. You know that the UK brand digestive biscuit gave a lincense for it in Nigeria.. I tasted the UK brand and the Nigerian brand.. The UK brand is way better than the Nigerian brand.. Keep in mind it is the same brand of biscuits, but made in two different country. .. I hope you getting my point

Any difference in terms of quality between the USA castrol 5w30 and nigeria castrol 5w30 blended by eternal oils.

Well u should not be so worried as long as u revert to coolant as soon as u can. Just drain the water from ur system (radiator and engine)and refill with recommended coolant and ur good to go.(Also don't forget to bleed the system ).

Scan and post code,but I doubt the code has anything to do with the water in ur radiator.

The chilled air coming from dash is ok that i close the rear vents, i wonder why u need the vents.

Its obvious he's cooling system is not efficient and he's hoping adding and extra vent would boost chilling which I doubt. I use an LE 09 though and can't remember when I drove at lowest temp settings yet the vehicle chills perfectly under hot weather.

Is this project worth the stress,why not just get an xle on ur next purchase,looking at past history of ur cooling system I won't attempt such modifications.
If rear passengers aren't feeling the cooling effect,I'll advice u tint ur side windows to reduce effect of external radiation. That's a cheaper and safer option.

I removed the airflow meter cable and put it back while the car engine is still on but the car engine didn't off.
that's why I'm suspecting the airflow meter is bad

Well that is not a valid test cos "some" cars would run even with a disconnected MAF sensor.MAF sensor only measures the amout of air coming into the engine,this figure is thus used to calculate the amout of fuel to suppy for "stiochiometric" combustion in the engine. Disconnect the sensor and the on board computer just assumes an air reading.
To be sure u have a faulty MAF senor, get a scanner,even the basic 3k scanner would give a clue whether u need to replace ur MAF sensor or not.

Hello house,I have been having a serious issue with 2010 toyota camry , v6 , 22 pin gearbox for the past two months now and I need help and advise. I was traveling and on my way I discovered my engine was revving but my accelarator was stalk on 60, so I stopped, off the car and put it back on but it didn't engage in drive or reverse so I had to roll the car,the gearbox mechanic said my oil pump , filter and torque converter was bad so we changed all of it and put WS oil. It worked but it was in one gear, so we got another TCM gearbox brain box and then it selected but right now whenever am entering gear 2 at Lowes speed , the car jerks and when am deaccelerating, it jerks when its about to come to gear 2 , also it like it using power to pick up when in drive. Another gearbox mechanic said we have to change valve body because in addition to the previous problem when the car is parked over night , it won't reverse or it sluggish when entering reverse , he said its the valve body that is making it jerk when entering gear 2 and also making it not entered reverse. I have spent close to 200k fixing this gearbox, I know realize I would have been patient, save up and buy a new gearbox but right now am totally broke, the last money I have is what am about to give him to change the valve body because he said using a bad valve body can lead to burning the fibre. Please anybody out there with similar problem using 22 pin gearbox to please advise me.

I'll advice at this point u stop wasting money on repairs,save up and get a tokunbo gearbox box with at least 1 week test warranty.

One red flag. Compare the neatness of the plate number with the body of the car. The two don't match at all

Thanks for the heads up..verified plate number on frsc verification portal and it's valid and registered to a red Corolla. I think the dealer is clean

That's about 10mpg,very crazy milage for a small engine unless the user sleeps in traffic with ac on regularly;tht could be the only excuse for such reading.

Yes, over filled oil can lead to froth formation, (air bubbles) making it difficult to properly lubricate moving parts as well as difficult for the oil pump to do its job. Drain excess to prevent stories.

With that budget u would get a good 07/08/09/10 Kia rio or 09/08 elantra.
Whichever u decide to settle for make sure u inspect using a reputable mechanic before purchase.

If done by an amature, ur likely to land into lots of electrical problems. Just ensure all electrical related components are properly covered. As for me, I use rag and Soapy warm water;I cannot shout

Asides electromechanical related issues one or more of the following must have changed; drive habits/pattern(0-100 in less than 10sec and 100 to 0 in less than 5sec ), vehicle load (do u carry more passengers/load than usual), traffic situation(do u get stuck in traffic than usual).
Do a self audit before fiddling with machine parts and sensors.

Both brand and weight are good to go, but ensure u be on the look out for imitations.

Good day gurus in the house. Please I need advice, my battery seems to be discharging when parked overnight. I have been to different re-wires, I just end up spending money and the problem keep re-occurring. One of them even recoiled the alternator, the problem still persists. Probably a parasitic drain within ur electrical system. Any electrical repair history prior to this issue?? U would need a technician to diagnose the source of drain or in the interim remove the negative terminal before going to bed

Try switching tire position, replace the two front tires with those at the rear. Test drive at 70-80km/hr and check if there's an improvement.

OK... Please can you put me tru please. Because I have done my tyre balancing, alignment, changed my ball joints and checked d brakes. And it only starts at about 70km and it swerves to the right slightly even after doing the alightment more than once

Before this issue occurred,did u by any chance; 1)enter a pothole on high speed,2)hit a curb 3)had an impact with an object on high speed. Cos a bent rim could cause vibrations at certain speed, and becomes more noticeable as u go faster.

I opened the hood of my corolla 2010 car today and found out that the radiator coolant in the reservoir is empty.
1) Do I just top up the coolant or do I need to totally flush and replace it.
2) What brand of coolant should I use

Top th coolant if it drops within a short period then u have a leak.
OEM recomends toyota super long life coolant.

All I can see it heavy metals welded together on top 4 tyres bought from China
The welding sef doesn't look neat

So I wasn't the only one who spotted the poor welding..really shabby weld work indeed.
