I can make a wild guess that your lappy is a HP right? I think you just lost your motherboard bro. I experienced this way back on my HP Pavilion DV6000 and since then,i have seen it happen to about 6 laptops all being HP! You can take your PC to a certified technician to confirm sha but just brace yourself for the bad news. Sorry in advance.

Windows 7 Starter is just the base OS of Windows 7. It just gives you a 'feel' of what Windows 7 looks like. Some of the disadvantages include but not limited to
-Inability to set a custom desktop background (You cannot change the desktop background)
-Inability to use the Windows Aero Effect (No transparency)
-Inability to create a wireless Peer to Peer Network
