OjukwuWarBird:I pity your shallow knowledge. So your definition of terror exclude that used by Niger Delta or Islamic militants? Many Nigerians are so lazy to read or carry out their own independent research, such that they become so gullible to any trash thrown at them, either mischievously or ignorantly.. The FBI uses this definition: "Terrorism is the unlawful use of force and violence against persons or property to intimidate or coerce a government, the civilian population, or any segment thereof, in furtherance of political or social objectives." According to the oxford dictionary: Militancy is the use of confrontational or violent methods in support of a political or social cause: Boko Haram and Niger Delta Avengers and the likes are all terrorists! It is high time we stopped all these nonsensical affiliations. What is bad is bad.Terror is terror, whether by Niger Delta militants or Islamic Militants! We should also learn to distinguish freedom fighters or agitators, secessionist, etc, from militants. An agitator, freedom fighter, rights activists, secessionist, etc are normally expected to be non militant or non violent. But if they now apply non provoked violence, terror or militancy, they become what they choose to become:militants or Terrorists! SMH . |
This is a very mischievous write up with a deliberate attempt to mislead the public. The FBI uses this definition: "Terrorism is the unlawful use of force and violence against persons or property to intimidate or coerce a government, the civilian population, or any segment thereof, in furtherance of political or social objectives." Boko Haram and Niger Delta Avengers and the likes are all terrorists! Militancy refers to both of them.We have Islamic militants and Niger Delta militants, who use terror to achieve their objectives. If you are one of those hoarding dollars speculatively,I would STRONGLY advice you to sell it off before Monday,20.6,2016 ,at the black market. The new Forex regime is surely going to improve the dollar supply, with an expectant crash in the black market rate. The new market driven forex rate to the dollar, is expected to hover in between the current official rate and the black market rate, some where between 200 and 300. Heed to my advice and thank me later! |
The issue at stake is MUHAMMADU V MUHAMMAD as per what was written in his certificate. Those still hinging on this certificate issue must be foolish indeed |
Davvymavvy:Hope we have the same CBN guidelines.I am not aware of any attempt to FIX the rate on Monday. But I am aware that the rate would be DETERMINED at the market's first trading session on Monday. |
agarawu23:Higher exchange rate doesn't imply bad news.We should stop importing what we produce. What ever the rate, would reflect the true value of the NAIRA |
agarawu23:So what's the parallel market rate for the Dollar and pounds in the US and UK respectively? Over sabi de worry you |
Davvymavvy:And you are tactically wrong! Devaluation is a deliberate reduction in the value of Naira to a fixed and specific rate.E.g N300 to 1 Dollar. But what CBN has done is to allow market forces to determine the real value of the Naira which is unknown yet,to he determined by the forces of demand and supply. Thus the Naira could either appreciate or depreciate, determined by supply and demand. |
freeborn76:Thankyou.The best comment so far.unfortunately Nigeria has been turned into an ethno-regional battle field, where what you say or do is weighed against your ethnic or regional origin. Both Amechi and Kachikwu are victors, arguing from different perspectives, one economic and the other, social. Those who see Amaechi as a traitor are the real ethnocentric traitors against the unity and progress of Nigeria. |
Lumiere91:Do you know the definition of terrorism? So you are not a terrorist until you kill someone? SMH ![]() |
deebsman1:For GOD's sake, what has PMB got to do with indefinite postponement of CCT trial? Is PMB the one trying Saraki,or you want him to interfere in the case? PMB once said that the judiciary is a stumbling block hindering the fight against corruption. |
TippyTop:The most stupid commentary, liked by the most stupid citizenry! SMH. |
Has the schedule changed? I taught his visit was fixed for June 6? |
N23000cash UBA cheque book India hemp ![]() Only an insane person would not realise that the sponsors of these criminals are only fighting for their pockets. Genuine fight for freedom does not incorporate Deliberate criminality and terrorism. Genuine struggles normally involves protest, civil unrest's etc.Violence comes in only as a matter of self defence. The BIAFRA and IPOB struggles are a better epitome of how genuine agitations should be conducted. Bharam and NDA are typical examples of selfishly motivated acts of terrorism that should be condemned by any sane person. Come on our gallant soldiers,go wipe them out! |
LONG LIVE THE FEDERAL REPUBLIC OF NIGERIA! |
I pledge to Nigeria,my country To be faithful, loyal and honest To serve Nigeria with all my strength To defend her unity and uphold her honour and glory So help me GOD Fellow Nigerians, the restructuring of Nigeria should commence with a total, individual and collective commitment to the national pledge. A faithfull, loyal and honest Nigeria will not loot the common treasury.Neither would he be happy, irrespective of political affiliation, that his country is being destroyed To defend the unity of Nigeria,no one will call for secession, kill or blow pipelines To uphold. the honour and glory of Nigeria,we must all support the fight against corruption. Nigeria shall. Be great again! |
Boko Haram are terrorists NDA are terrorists We were all united to denounce Boko Haram. But now because of sectional and political affiliations, some idiots are supporting the destruction of their fatherland and the killings of our very precious soldiers. The last time I checked, the definition of terrorism does not embrace the legitimacy or otherwise, the reasons for terror. And whereas the effects of Bharam terror could be sectional, the devastating effects of Niger Delta terror is national. Any person supporting niger delta terror is as evil as that supporting BHaram . Bharam wanted sharia NDA wanted resource control and recently, seccession So should the legitimacy or otherwise of these demands distort a collective will to denounce terror? Sadly, religion, ethnicity and political affiliations have overshadowed sense of reasoning. I weep for my dear country |
MaziOmenuko:Only idiots are happy that their country is being destroyed and are supporting terrorism. The same idiots will tell you not to negotiate with terrorists, whereas the definition of terrorism include both boko haram and the Avengers,no matter how legitimate or otherwise ,their demands. I weep for my dear country . |
Firefire:Did the conference recommend sovereign state? Nonsense! |
sanandreas:The same idiots that liked this comment would also tell you not to negotiate with Terrorists, whereas by the standard definition of Terrorism,Both Boko Haram and Niger Delta Avengers are terrorists,no matter how legitimate or otherwise their demands! I weep for Nigeria... |

DaudaAbu:South West nko? |
Some effects of Niger Delta Terrorism: -Near zero revenue to Nigeria -Inability of government to cater for the poor -Big and small businesses fold up as a result of lack of power, fuel and high cost -Rising rate of unemployment -Millions of Nigerians die of poverty, more devastating than the effects of Boko Haram -Poverty will drive millions of Nigerians into criminality that could lead to further deaths of millions of Nigerians -The rich will also cry from insecurity Is PMB's government the architect of the present and very unfortunate predicament of the Niger Delta?Where will the government get funds to address their plight if national assets are already destroyed? By the way are these criminals really fighting for the Niger Delta or for their pockets? Nigerians think, say no to Terrorism! LONG LIVE THE FEDERAL REPUBLIC OF NIGERIA |
No matter how legitimate the demands are,how on earth will a Nigerian be happy that his country is being destroyed? And is PMB's government the architect of the present and very unfortunate predicament of the Niger Delta? I weep for Nigeria...... By GOD's grace,LONG LIVE THE FEDERAL REPUBLIC OF NIGERIA! |
pendusky:Another idiotic comment. Vengeance on a very false premise. For your information, this statement was made by a PDP chieftain, even though it has nothing to do with Boko Haram.these links are still relevant: http://ends.ng/fact-it-was-pdp-that-promised-to-make-nigeria-ungovernable-in-2011-buhari-never-did/ http://newsrescue.com/pdp-affair-revealed-man-promised-make-nigeria-ungovernable-jonathan-wins/ Oh my God,Idiots every where |
scribble:The same idiots that liked this comment would also tell you not to negotiate with Terrorists, whereas by the standard definition of Terrorism,Both Boko Haram and Niger Delta Avengers are terrorists,no matter how legitimate or otherwise their demands! I weep for Nigeria... |

NLC now stinks. NLC strike should be against the FG and not APC. The anti APC placard shows a politically motivated protest. This is FG of Nigeria not that of APC.I am sure that very sound minds appreciate my line of reasoning. |
I am suggesting a new paradigm in trade unionism. I am not aware of any government all over the world that execute policies with the aim of DELIBERATELY putting hardship on it's citizens! But what I know for sure is that because of man's imperfection,no policy is also perfect. Therefore, the first approach of any antagonism to any imperfect government policy should not be a strike but an alternative solution.Strike should be a last resort where government refuses to bow to superior alternative solutions. I am also not aware of any Superior alternative solutions that have been forwarded by NLC to resolve the oil sector crises. All we hear is that the hardship is to much for us to bear. Yes I totally agree that the pain and hardship is too much, but then what are the alternatives? Is fuel importation by a major oil producing country, the making of this present administration? ''After hardship, comes ease.''-Quran 94:6 |
