The afonja lawyer was amused when SAN mike reminded him that sometime in July they argued abt the saraki case and he told him that saraki case would be strikes out. Today, saraki is a free man...
And of what relevance is that to the issue at stake?

Is this a defense for a so called SAN,quoting an old law?

Saraki/Ekweremadu's case was withdrawn(not struck out) by the prosecutors because of a similar case by another court. It has nothing to do with the facts of the case. Ozekhome is a total disgrace!

Ozekhome cleared that up.
He said the portion jiti quoted could only be admidsible where thr person, in this case thr judges failed to honour an invitation.
It is obvious that you did not watch from the beginning.

Just to clear this your misinformation, for the benefit of others:

The old law Jiti referred to, was that concerning the timing of raid, permissible by law.Whilst Osekhome was quoting 6am t0 6pm,as contained in the old law,Jiti reminded the so called SAN, that the new law empowers the search or raid to be conducted at anytime!

It is so disgusting how some people like you are aiding and abetting corruption with very despicable comments.More annoying is the fact that such comments are based on either ignorance or mischief.

Those who really watched the programme from A-z,knows that Jiti is truly a legal luminary. You can take that to the Bank!

I just can not phantom all the trash arguments and comments, thus far?

How has Ondo primaries an epitome of north ingratitude to Tinubu or marginalisation of the SW?

What is the northern interest in Akerodolu becoming the governor of Ondo state,as against Tinubu's candidate? Is Akeredolu a northerner?

It's high time we did away with Godfatherism in politics, please.

The dynamic SWesterners are too sophisticated for all these tribal rationalisations. The NWC of APC has taken a decision,Tinubu should fall in line or resign to pursue his very selfish agenda, rather than engage in anti-party activity.

The IPOB yout above me is foaming at the mouth for nothing. Tinubu has fought countless political battles and emerged victorious. If the north think they can use and dump him, he would simply realign with like minds and work towards taking power away from the north in 2019. In the end, it will be a win win situation for Tinubu and the south west
This is not a matter of use and dumb, neither is it a case of northern plot against Tinubu.

The chairman of the party,Oyegun is not a northerner,so people should stop instigating tribal politics at the slightest unwarranted opportunity.

Tinubu made allegations against the chairman, the chairman had responded. As far as I am concerned, whether Oyegun's explanations are genuine or not,he remains the chairman,a decision has been taken.I expect any unselfish party member to abide by the decision of the NWC,or honorably resign from the party, rather than engaged in anti-party activity.

If this anti-party activity story is true, then Tinubu would have exposed himself as not being a team player.I very much respect his status and contributions to Nigeria's democracy thus far,but he can not always have his way whether rightly or wrongly,in a party that is national!

Successful Institutions should NOT be built around one person,if Tinubu decides to destroy a national party he had jointly built with others, that is his own kettle of fish!

Selfish leaders are better suited for regional parties like AD,and not national parties like APC!

My little research on Naira land, concerning Edo elections, revealed that MOST people in support of Obaseki, are really located in Edo state, whilst MOST people in support of Iyamu are located outside Edo state.

Now I am convinced that Obaseki really won in Edo whilst Iyamu won on Nairaland.

Also I had lived in Edo state before now,and I realised that the SILENT mass majority of Edolites(MOSTLY the low to medium income class) tend to lean towards the progressives, whilst the very VOCAL minority, the G.R.A,Benin(MOST low to medium income people in Benin, who are more, supports APC), type of people, are MOSTLY in support of PDP. No wonder why it seemed that Iyamu was more popular than Oshiomole(whether you like it or not,Obaseki apart, those who voted for APC did so because of the better performance of Oshiomole, when compared to the evil days of Igbinedion)

it won't be a surprise if APC wins even without rigging. The truth is that Nigeria is not a normal country. I have travelled to so many countries but I have never seen anyone like Nigeria.
If Nigeria is a normal country, APC should be losing election for the next 2-3 years not because PDP is better but to make a statement of disapproval of the current situation of things and that should have made them sit up. But Nigeria is different with abnormal mentality that defies all logic and that is why nothing works here.
Ajala travel all over the world! It seems you are the only one that had travelled to many countries, nonsense!

If A party performs well in a state,as evident in EDO,compared to the evil days of PDP then, but currently having challenges at the federal level, then what should happen? So you expect Oshiomole(with at least a better performance than Igbinedion) to be disgraced by the Edolite because Buhari is currently facing very serious challenges, abi?

Your trash could have made some sense if it were to be a federal election, like the National House of Assembly, just like what we witnessed recently in the USA.

The truth is that many Nigerians, including EDOLITES, appreciates the fact that the current challenges at the federal level are summountable and cannot be as a result of ineptitude of the FG.

Even the best economists in the world could not have saved us from Recession: Oil price crash, economic sabotage from NDA,Boko Haram, etc

The FG is fighting many battles, and a very reasonable and sensible electorate should exercise more patience!

It is sheer stupidity to expect APC to clear the mess of 16years in just one year plus,it may surely get worse before it gets better. The building with a very shaky foundation must be pulled down, to lay a more solid foundation, take it or you leave it.

It was under the same 16 years of PDP rule our foreign reserves grew and we witness economic growth after military rule .
Just before you mislead the public:

Nigeria was not importing fuel during Abacha period or when Buhari was the chairman of PTF.

Even the worst economists in the world, know that economic growth without economic development is nonsensical. And that is why we are where we are today as a nation.Economic growth, yet no economic development via productive and efficient local refineries.

Did bother read his comments,

But they said how can we devalue? We will not devalue.

In economics timing very important, if the government had devalued earlier, thing won't be this bad.

But they shamefully devalued using the term floating of the naira, when they realize they couldn't handle things anymore.
So can you give us the exact date and time we should have devalued the Naira, for us to have averted recession?

For God's sake monetary policies alone could not have averted recession. The government responded early enough with some fiscal policies like the ban on some imported goods for forex. But unfortunately,we could not avert the recession because of the inevitable importation of Fuel which is the major cause of the pressure on forex today. The FG could not ban the importation of fuel because we were virtually not producing any, locally.

I am stating with full authority that the only way we could have averted recession was if we were not importing fuel!!!!! Is that Buhari's fault?

16years of PDP rule has plunged us into the only OPEC member importing fuel!

Even USA ,with all the best economists in the world, could not avert economic downturn. It took Obama more than 4 years to turn the economy of USA around.

Textbook economist like Utomi should please shut up an let us have our peace. What contributions did he make to avert the recession?Talk is very cheap indeed. What leadership did Utomi provide to save Volkswagen and BankPHB from extinctionhuh

The fact about economics is that there is never any best way. There is always a lacuna in very economic policy adopted, and that is what idiots like Utomi are capitalising on to attract very cheap publicity.

Borrowing against assets?Earlier devaluation in a very import dependent economy? How easy and certain are these, as perfect solutions to averting recession?

The same sort of economists would have told us that the devaluation of the Naira was too hasty a decision,if otherwise.

Millions of Nigerians who watched that debate saw how Pastor Ize Iyamu schooled and drilled Obaseki on the rudiments of Governance.

In that same Debate, Obaseki open his big fat mouth to say" Local Government councils in Edo State are autonomous "

Obaseki was stammering, fidgeting and incoherent throughout the debate.

Obaseki was trending on Twitter for stammering and shaking.

Pastor Ize Iyamu won the debate hands down.

Only zombies will think otherwise.
Total trash.

The constitution preserves the autonomy of local govts. Autonomy should not be confused with control.E.g.CBN is autonomous, but under the control of FG.

Obaseki was driving a point home that as far as EDO is concerned, that autonomy(not control) enshrined by the constitution is preserved

Obaseki is the arrow head of Oshiomole's economic team which has transformed Edo state to a much more buoyant and prosperous state, unlike the very dark ages of PDP in Edo.

Even the best economist in the world could not have taken Nigeria out of the inevitable recession within 2 years!

The economic fundamentals are very glaring. When your forex revenue drops by 60%,Forex scarcity cannot be avoided. And with an import dependent economy(Is it Buhari's fault?),we are bound to have have import induced inflation cutting across all sectors.

The only way out of recession is enhanced productivity across all sectors of the economy.

Those asking the finance minister to be sacked must be sick in the head! The Finance minister can only MANAGE AVAILABLE FUNDS and funds and probably window dress and manipulate figures, like what Okonjo was doing,as a way of damage control.

Do you sack your company's Chief Financial Officer(CFO) or your Chief Marketing Officer(CMO),if major company revenue drops and your are no longer able to pay your bills like salaries,raw-materials,etc.A sane CEO would go for the jugular of the CMO and definitely not the CFO.

There is a very wide and wrong misconception about the functions of a Finance Minister.

What is the minister of trade and industry doing about creating enabling environment for trade and investments to flourish in Nigeria. How about the minister of PRODUCTIVITY and labour ?
What is the Agric Minister doing?

However assuming they are all working,it is still too early to start feeling any way out of recession.
It is surely a long way out of economic recession!

But a sudden jump in oil price to say $100 would surely bring us out of recession, quote me anywhere and remain blessed!
