davidylan: how did you get into the phd program with no particular research focus? Actually I do have a focus, just need expanded views from multi disciplinary backgrounds that i may incorporate into what I already have to thicken the "Conceptual Framework" Davidylan, thank you for your anticipated input. |

prince3009: My mum received a call this morning while lying on her sick bed, it was someone who claimed to be an FRSC official. He claimed that there was someone involved in a ghastly motor accident whom she (my mum) knew and that she should call back...i was already all set for work so i decided to call the number. When i did, the "FRSC" man asked where i was and i told him i was in Abuja. He then said that there was a ghastly motor accident which occurred along the Lokoja/Abuja road and a woman whom we supposedly know was involved.
He said he got my mum's number from the woman's phone and that though she is alive, she is in a very critical condition. According to him, the 3 people sitting down beside her died on the spot and the woman needed urgent medical attention. He further inquired if i knew any Red Cross number and i said no. I told him to simply use the woman's number to call me so that i would be able to ascertain her identity by tallying it with the contacts on my mum's phone or mine so we could know if she was a close relative but he responded by saying that there was no credit in the woman's phone and that he tried the "Call Me Back" method which did not work. He finally broke the camel's back by saying i should send MTN Recharge Card of about N400 to him so he could load the phone and call me back with it. I told him that i would send him just N100 but he insisted it must be N400 or at least N200. That was when it dawned on me. I was so upset cos my mum is a High BP and Diabetic patient which culminated to a stroke months back and was still recovering in my house only for them to spring this up on her. I managed to calm both her and my younger sister down by telling them it was a prank call from a scammer and related my reasons to them.
If you are reading this and got a similar call, please share your experience and for those who have not, be wary...IT IS A CHEAP SCAM! JEHOVA bless you! |

ceaz4r: Kai, I de laff in Arabic! ...
Ifeanyi(from Asaba, Delta state): Abunam onye Igbo (I'm not Igbo)
Tejiri (from Abraka, Delta state): No, is a lie, you are Igbo!
Ifeanyi: No, I am from Anioma. Emeka (from Abia state): is Anioma not Igbo language, which means Good/Beautiful Land?
Ifeanyi: No, is not Igbo language but resembles Igbo language.
Tosan (from Warri, Delta state): Even your name Ifeanyi is Igbo! So what are you saying?
Ifeany: well.... Emm..
Preye(from Bomadi, Delta state) All we know is that Delta state belongs to these three tribes: Urhobo, Itsekiri, and Ijaw!! So anybody speaking Igbo language or what resembles Igbo language (as you 'smartly' put it) is not part of us in Delta state Ooo! Know that now.
Amaka (from Anambra state) : So Delta Igbos (or Anioma people), where do you people belong?! These people have made is clear to you people in several ways that you are not part of them (Urhobo, Itsekiri, and Ijaw). See how Warri and environ is being transformed into a mega city, one would think its the state ccapital!! While Asaba is just there in name as the state capital. Even Oghara rose from the sub-urban into a mega town!! Delta North, SHAME!!
Joseph: Wait, but how can a people who speak a language that belongs to a particular Tribe claim they are not from that tribe!!
Chukwuma (from Obiaruku, Delta state) because our parents say it is the Igbos that caused the war when they did the first coup in Nigeria. And this made the Delta North people to suffer much during the war especially Asaba people.
Adamu (from Kogi): The Soldier who plotted that coup was Maj Chukwuma Kaduna Nzeogwu from OKPANAM, ASABA, DELTA state, do you realise that? So in the real sense of it, you people caused the trouble you blame the Igbos to have caused!!!
... Really wanted to spill my rage on you, but very painfully changed my mind. |

irukandji89: Do you mean while its still attached?
If so, don't worry abt that.
Plants also "breathe"
Just follow ∂ instructions.
Make it tight. After some days it will collect moisture by itself.
Try it, and see how easy it is. *Smiling* kkk. Thanks |

nellyxyz: Can a day past with people mentioning the case of in Nigeria but today was something else in Banks at Umuahia. I was trying to enter the bank hall when a security guard ask me to wait with an automated machine in his hand. I stopped to turn back He use that machine flinging it at my face, at first I was scared but I halted to know what they are doing. When I asked the man why the exercise, he said that they are checking the Ebola by using the automated machine to check body temperature, that if the body is above 38OC that the person will be suspected of carrying the Ebola Virus. So will they detect the virus by that means, what of some people that do have rise in temperature at most time? Will they be isolated in our society cos stigmatization have already started in the Banks. whats your take about this? Visit: www.echioma.com for more Info Really Laughed Out Very Loud @ the Bolded. Naija is really scary; The guard may have no idea, the principles behind the operation of the machine, but would have bundled you up if your BT was higher than 38. |
