Ghana Cedi had a 20,000 note before the redenomination.To make the cedi look strong, they removed 4 zeros from their currency, so 20,000 GHC became 2cedis.
Even with the redenominations, inflation has continued to devalue the currency.

After the redenomination GHC0.92 exchanged for one $1, today GHC5.48 exchange for $1, a 700% increase. In comparison, N120 exchanged for $1 in 2007, today it's at N360, that's a 400% increase.

What is happening is the border closure came without any announcements so the already left trucks had to be prevented from entering. That is why the minister is telling the ambassador to inform your officials to allow those trucks already there to enter because currently, Nigerian trucks keep entering into Ghana without any stoppage.If you have issues with Benin, don't involve Ghana. Your ambassador has understood it that Ghana is not the target so he will inform the authorities to allow those trucks to enter.And we don't depend on any Nigerian market cos we already have international buyers and Nigeria cannot afford to even buy our exports worth over 17 billion dollars yearly.
