Yeah bro, I quite understand that coding falls within the tech industry, and opportunities in this area are usually dependent majorly on competence. But what do you do when you find yourself competing someone else with the same skill set in addition to university degrees? Sometimes you may not even get to be shortlisted without the necessary paper qualifications, especially in this country.

What I'm saying in essence is, if you have the means and opportunity to get the degree, do not ignore it. A graduate/postgraduate programmer will always be respected and paid more than an SSCE holder programmer anywhere, except you develop your own apps or set up your own company.

The Europeans really had some ideas of painful deaths meted out to lawbreakers in the medieval times.

Another painful death was the bloodied eagle which the Vikings or North Europeans used on murderers. The person would kneel and the executioner would open up their spine, bring out their lungs and hang them on the victim's shoulders. I saw it in the Vikings series.
