andrewbaba44:Wrong. Holland are in the same predicament Tunisia are in. Both Holland and Tunisia are playing their last games against the second best teams in their groups, Norway and Zambia. These teams fell out of form at some point in qualifying, then regained momentum and are out for blood. Norway and Zambia both need wins to qualify. The problem though is with the other best teams in their groups, Turkey and Equatoreal Guinea respectively. Both teams have relatively easy last games, making the pressure higher on the other teams. I predict Holland to scrape through, but Tunisia to draw with Zambia and get kicked out by Equatorial Guinea. |
Surebaba01:Lol... There was a time in the game Iheanacho played a through pass and a Liberian defender wasn't marking. The coach shouted, "Look over your shoulder, do you want to kill us?" ![]() Rohr with a disasterclass today. Didn't make any sub after the Ejuke sub until 86 mins, then put in Musa for no reason I can fathom. Osimhen should never have played 90 mins, considering we have a more important match on Tuesday that we need to rest our players for. He should have removed Collins and Nacho since around 70 mins at the latest and then Osimhen for Onuachu around 80 mins to rest him for Cape Verde. Clueless coach. |
Watching this game was painful. The only reason I stayed till 90 mins was because it was my country playing. We need to up our game if we are to compete with the big teams in Africa alone, let alone in the world in general. |
Subzero047:I thought it was only me. Collins is a stinkbomb. No football sense. Look at that play where he was supposed to shield thhe ball and clear it out. He played a stupid short pass to Maduka who was under pressure and we gave the ball away deep in our half unnecessarily. The second time, he gave the ball to Balogun who immediately fell and bought the free kick like any defender with football sense would do. The guy is a serious liability, him and Ekong. I would start Bassey or even Zaidu over Collins, Akpoguma over Ekong, and Aina as the right wing back instead of Simon. In this game, Iwobi should come out for Ejuke. Guy looks lost. Later, Chuks should come in for Nacho. Then, Onyeka and Onuachu and switch to 4-3-3. |
Danielnino00:3-5-2, Maduka, Awaziem, Ekong, Balogun, Simon, Collins, Ndidi, Aribo, Iwobi, Iheanacho, Osimhen. |
andrewbaba44:I am not a Chelsea fan and will never be. I am just stating facts. These are the results of a worldwide vote by the ICC to determine who the current best keeper in the world is. Guess who won. I wonder how you can be voted as the best player in the WORLD in your position and not be WORLD class, or maybe world class has a different definition for you than for me.
|
Icon79:You could use ESPN+, but it is monthly and doesn't show Serie A anymore. Only boring La Liga and Bundesliga. |
Icon79:Try Luxembourg. |
fabyom:This is not the fault of the team, it is the fault of the coach. You could say the same for our team too. We have lost or drawn virtually all games Osimhen did not play in after he became our 9. Cameroon friendly last year, our team was piss poor because Osimhen was injured. |
andrewbaba44:Setting a Champions League clean sheets record as a GK doesn't make you world class? I wonder how you guys determine what players are world class and what players are not. |
With Rohr, we will never get the free flowing attacking football our players are capable of. He is just too conservative. It is not his fault though, but if we want to move forward, we need a Belmadi-esque coach that can play organized, disciplined, free-flowing attacking football. |
Onyeka’s game has really improved. Why don’t we try Aribo further forward like he does at Rangers (definitely not as a RW where Gerard usually plays him, maybe as an Iwobi replacement at AM)? |
fabyom:Stop having delusions of grandeur. If we meet Mali with our full team right now, I doubt if we can come out with a draw. We don’t even have up to five players in UCL, teams like Morocco, Senegal and co. with actual world class players are not even making mouth like this. The good thing we have is decent squad depth, and hat is mostly in attack. Midfield is lean, defense has plenty names but mostly poor players really. The only promising players in defense are Zaidu, Awaziem, and possibly Zainab/Bassey. The rest have reached their ceilings. |
fabyom:Sarr is good. Diatta too. Senegal have young strikers too, Habib Diallo was dragging highest goalscorer with Osimhen in Ligue 1 and he's young too. Boulaye Dia is doing it with Villarreal this season. Niang and Diagne are also decent back ups. Where Senegal really edges us though is in defense. You have K2 who is a world class CB, along with Abdou Diallo competing in a star studded PSG side. Bouna Sarr is at Bayern, Kouyate is at Crystal Palace. Ballo-Toure who is one of the best young fullbacks in Serie A currently at RB. You then have the best goalkeeper in the world currently in goal. Complete backline. My only problem with Senegal is their coach. The guy is disciplined, passionate etc, but he isn't tactically sound. It has been exposed multiple times, today for example. He is basically a younger version of Rohr tactically. If Senegal can get themselves a coach on the level of Belmadi tactically, they will enter top 10 globally in no time because the talents are there. |
Blueelf:Osimhen and Ndidi will not make CAF first 11. That's a fact. Midfield alone has Kessie and Gueye, not forgetting Bennacer and co. You can't leave any of these guys out for Ndidi (Bennacer was the best player last AFCON, Kessie rated as one of the best players overall in Serie A etc). In attack, Osimhen has not done enough to be considered yet. If he continues in his current form until the end of the season, then we can have that conversation. Mane and Salah must be in the front three, and you can always fill in the last with Zaha, Auba, Mahrez, etc. Hell, even Slimani and Ziyech are rated higher than Osimhen in world football. The reason we celebrate Osimhen so much is that we see his potentials, what he could become in a few years if he is consistent. |
Arabiandude:Awoniyi is not good enough at the moment to be in that list. Ejuke needs to move to a bigger league where he can become a Saint-Maximin (who was at Nice some years back dribbling as he is now but no one knew him then because Ligue 1). Same with Moffi. I personally rate Sadiq higher than all our strikers except Osimhen. He showed his quality right from the Olympics at 19. I have a feeling that he will be the next Nigerian attacker to make a big money move. Guy is pace + finishing + football sense combined into a large frame. If he can work on using his strength well, he could be a young Ibrahimovic. |
elyte89:S/A are one of the best teams in Africa when it comes to frustrating the big guns. I see the game ending 1:1, S/A to qualify. |
Icon79:Bazunu, their keeper too. Just 19. Man City youth keeper. |
Utonwanne:Bachmann is Austria's number 1 goalie. He impressed hugely at the Euros this summer. The only reason he has not been starting too many games is because Foster is more experienced. Both are very good keepers Okoye can learn a lot from. However, he is nowhere near their level. |
zuchyblink:He won't bench Foster and Bachmann though. He should just keep going back to Rotterdam on loan until the road is clear for him to come back to EPL. |
Subzero047:I said he plays like Aribo but with zero work rate. That clearly indicates that Aribo has a very high work rate. Understand. |
Maduka Okoye joins Watford.
|
mostob:Kane is higher than or equal to Lukaku, and you cannot tell me that Lukaku is not world class. Hell, even Dzeko and Mertens are considered world class CFs, let alone Kane. |
A certain Destiny Efosa on Fiorentina bench against Juventus. Edo people dey try for Italy o. |
Dortmund without Haaland play like Nassarawa United. |
Nkunku and Chuks are extremely similar players. They even look alike. The only difference is that Nkunku's end product is much higher than Chuks. |
Nwakali nowadays plays like an Olise or Aribo with zero work rate. It is almost as if he makes bets before games that he is not going to fall throughout the game, so he doesn't tackle, run, or track back. |
Philosopher1979:You don’t know Rohr then. Rohr that I know will take out Ejuke to bring in Lookman. He will tell you that having too many dribblers is not good for the team. |
So you mean to tell me Rohr left out an attacker with 6 G+A in the Premier league in 9 games this season and a striker who is the fourth highest goal scorer in the Bundesliga and the third attacker to reach double figures in goals in all comps in the entire top 5 leagues this season to invite a striker playing in the Saudi League because he "smells football" (in Rohr's words)? ![]() In a sane country, such a coach should not have a job. Unfortunately, Nigeria is Nigeria. |
Meliforme:Sure. Maybe bite burgers and chin chin. If you mean defenses though, then we are finished in Nigerian football. Also, why is Bassey not on the list? Let’s not have another Alaba scenario on our hands here. |
Where is Maja though? Is he injured? |
elyte89:Senegal coach is also clueless, albeit a bit better than Rohr tactically. If Belmadi coached Senegal, they would have won the last AFCON convincingly. |
