Some casts are busy posing on red carpets all over the place while I'm waiting for them to get back to shooting ![]() DAVE5:I'm looking into your recommendation sir. sirjake:I agree with you sir. Will continue to contribute my own 'widow's mite' as much as possible sir. Amen. GOD bless you too sir. ![]() |
tunnex190:U are welcomed sir. Wish I could help but unfortunately, Dubai matters isn't my turf. Hopefully, the few sincere Dubai based people here will attend to u soon. Ur fifth point got me laughing. Just a little patience sir. ![]() |
It's getting increasingly scary to visit this thread. You never can tell the next thing you will read here. The world over, Nigerians are the foundation of their problems. Until we start looking inwards and pointing at ourselves instead of other people for our problems, we will not move forward or experience true and genuine progress/growth. |
*setting up camp* I must not miss this one ![]() |
Gooci:Wish I could help but Dubai matters isn't my turf. It's better people based in Dubai handle it sir. I only hope you don't get a ban before then ![]() |
Gooci:LMAO!!! ![]() Nairaland is really full of drama. |
samstel:You are welcomed sir. I'm quite sure there's no job attached to the visa. That's the way the get the visas. If you decide to go ahead with the move, indicate in this thread when you are set to go so I can give you tips to affords pitfalls that are newcomers fall into right from the airport. Also, start asking your agent if he has someone on ground that will attend to your needs when you arrive in the country. All the best. Now...so many hidden posts again? Why I'm always missing this dramas? ![]() |
samstel:Mr . Samstel, I don't think you read my initial reply. I just told you there's really no cause for alarm about some of the issues you have raised. 1.it is true dat I will still pay some money in qatar for mai residence permit?coz mai agent didn't tell me dat,I got dat here. Yes, you will pay for your residence permit yourself. The fees shot up around slightly over a year ago. Different companies charge different amounts but prepare for something in the range of 2500qrs to 3000qrs. 2.During d cause of d processing my agent took mai SSCE result to Abuja for attestation, now dat heard dat it is important pls can I attest mai ND coz is original and mai HND statement with mai transcript coz I study elect/elect. You can do the attestation of all your certificates before coming down. Will come in handy for some jobs. That's not to say you can't get a job without attesting them. 3.on mai visa dia are some tinz I need ur help too:it is d company dat did d sponsorship that will employ me? I don't know what your agent told u but if you didn't negotiate a job along with the visa then you will have to search for a job when you get here. On the flip side, the agent can also tell you that there's a job waiting for you with the company but in reality it's not. The point is that you should ask your agent if there's a job attached to the visa. Let me know what he tells you later. ,on d visa also on profession it is written there as laborer hope am nt gonna b enslaved Don't get yourself worked up about what is written on the visa as your profession. It doesn't really count and you won't be enslaved. The visa is just a business transaction between you and the company acting as your sponsor. Once you get here and get a job, the company will give you a release document. The profession indicated on the visa also doesn't determine the kind of job you will get. Once you have the right wits and skills for a particular job, no one is going to ask you what is written on your visa. Asides that, you can only change the job status later after you know your way around the system. and lastly I heard mai passport will be with mai employer is dat true? Your passport will not be with your employer. The reason to give your passport to your company is when you want to do your residence permit. After it's done, it will be returned to you. If you get a job, the employer won't hold on to your passport because the company isn't your direct sponsor. All things being equal, if you think you have the courage to take the plunge, don't let these concerns stop u. All the best |
@ Samstel Calm down Mr. Samstel. I just need to ask u a few questions to clarify things. From the little u have shared, I don't think u should get urself worked up that much. |
I once replied an executive director of a media firm who asked me this question " U can't pay me what I'm worth sir so tell me how much u think u can afford". The look on his face was . Ofcourse, before u answer this way, u must have done ur homework very well and know that u have many advantages to negotiate and secure the job. |
Chiaka:Your post is very revealing. I doubt if the link u posted was there when this thread started else we would have found. If I didn't, the OP would have. Nice to meet a Coker from the SL side. Some pictures of the family house and some members were published in the family book few years ago. One of them, a Doctor, was elected as the President of the medical association in West Africa around that time I think. We are also well estabilshed in Gambia. I was shocked when I met a Coker with a yoruba name back in Uni who said she's from Gambia. It was quite an experience. Thanks for wishing the OP luck. She was quite lucky at the end. |
Harkynkunle:Calm down sir. Remember people that contribute here have a life outside Nairaland. Someone will come around to reply when they have the time. ![]() |
Abee79:Sir, u nailed. The "...have u given ur life to CHRIST..." got me really choking with laughter. I can imagine the looks on their faces. If the same person still pushes further after that, the next thing I'd probably say is " I think u need deliverance" ![]() |
justi4jesu:Lol... I trust u. Hope I'd get some. U know the thread is ur own turf so u are hosting. Where's ur BFF? |
justi4jesu:Just thought of bringing this to ur attention only to discover u are already in a front row seat ![]() |
Hmm...interesting thread. Better late than never *spreads mat* ![]() |
We need to see their faces. Shouldn't be censored at all. So sad but yet many will not learn. Some people just keep making things difficult for Nigerians in the region. |
nattyspice: Hello house, what are the prospects for heavy duty truck drivers(TIPPER,TRAILER,LOW LOWDER, TANKER) in Dubai ? I don taya for police ,VIO ,FRSC,agbero,Local govt tout harrasment.Any info will be kindly welcomed .Very funny man. U have really passed through a lot in the hands of uniformed men lol |
Hmm...a word is enough for the wise they say. |
frostmate: Thank you for the info.U are welcomed sir |
UNLEASHED: Where's Qatar on the list? That airport is massive!very true about the size of Qatar's airport. Massive doesn't even describe when u compare the size to the size of the whole country itself. What the OP has however done is based on traffic handled by the airports based on 2011 figures. That's why Qatar's won't make this least cos it just only opened few months ago and is yet to record traffic for a full year. ![]() |
frostmate: Hello sir. What's the cost of living in Qatar compared to UAE?I've only 'passed through' UAE but from my interactions with people and from what I read here, I'd say cost of living is lower in Qatar. The difference might not be so much but it's lower sir. As for ur second question, it does count very well as they are quite similar environments in more ways than one sir |
uyigue1: Hello pals thanks for your good work here, am really impressed...........................i have 3 questions pls about Qatar visa is it possible for someone to get a good job over there, secondly is it possible to marry a Qatari citizen over there and get paper, thirdly how is social life over there and is it possible to cross to any Asia country later in future as i plan and how is their attitude towards foreign nationals.thanksHate to burst ur bubble sir. Ur number 2 question got me really laughing ![]() It's possible to get good jobs...but then everyone has their own definition of what a 'good job' is. As for ur third question, Qatar isn't a prison. U can always pack ur bags and leave for anywhere u desire in the future. I obviously know what u have in mind lol. Take one step at a time sir. The world is a big place. Just to point out something. Some months back, Georgia opened it's doors to Qatar citizens and anyone with a valid R.P. Before u start packing ur bags, ask urself what's in Georgia? ![]() |
icedbreez: I hope transit visa is not needed if you re going to dubai and happen to pass through Qatar airport for 6hours on ur way to dubai? It depends on the passport u using. Certain passport holders even qualify for tourist visas on arrival. If u are using the Nigerian passport, u would have to wait out ur stopover hours within the airport. U can checkout this Qatar airways link for further information http://www.qatarairways.com/global/en/visa-and-passport-requirements.page |
justi4jesu: Lol you pass Nepa oh. Abeg try dey give us news from that side too.Lol...I really need to put some work into this then. Getting compared with NEPA is bad enough...being worse than it is just totally ugly. There isn't much happening here really other than the ban on Nigerians getting stiffer. I'd answer any questions on Qatar to the best of my abilities. Is there anything specific u want to know? |
justi4jesu: We dey wait for you na...Please furnish us with Qatar visa updates ohh as DrDre is off and On.Madam Justi, ha! That's harsh and unfair o I felt like NEPA/PHCN erratic power supply immediately I read ur post. I hang around here most times but there are really no questions on Qatar so I prefer to just learn and observe ![]() |
tuffgongjo: And do you know how much fifa stand to loss if one or two fans die cause of d Qatari heat?No one will die cos of the heat. This is the same heat many Europeans travel thousands of miles around the world to get during their holidays. Besides, have u heard of any European that died in Qatar because of heat? There are thousands of them in Qatar living good and comfortable lives. This is just one of the excuses to wrestle the hosting rights out of their hands. Did FIFA just suddenly wake up and discovered that Qatar is in the middle east? If the weather is their excuse then, let them fix it around the cool period so the fans can go to the stadia in jackets and sweaters lol |
I hope this doesn't happen. The effect of canceling Qatar's hosting right can't even be imagined. After all the hype, fanfare, billions of dollars worth of contracts, influx of expatriates, etc? FIFA, be careful and thread carefully o |
Never imagined the location for such a show. Really nice to see people treating their dogs well. Sadly, I can't imagine having my eldest dog in this atmosphere ![]() |
