When you have up to 50 domains on your Namecheap account start using the promotional code "golddeal". It cuts your $10.69 registration to $9.79. |
"Review" threads on this board are not meant to get reviews, its a trick that never gets old here. "Review" threads which are created with the aim of showcasing a design are done that way so there is a fail-safe "I'm still working on it" to fall back on should your finished design be lynched by men and gods. Only brave webmasters come up with threads to showcase the designs and title it "Check this site out and be inspired" or "See this site, don't comment just like it". These ones have come out in the open, guns blazing. P.S: I have been here since 2007 and I have seen just one of such threads. You either promote the culture or do your own part in stopping the culture. Personally I will hardly lift a finger to write a review on anyone's site here because its a time-tested, designer-proven uselessness. |
Web Design: HTML + CSS > Javascript > AJAX + jQuery Web Development: PHP + MySQL > PHP Frameworks |
greenmouse: @brand_new, you are never a better designer than my self. If you doubt me let @yewatide be our judge bring your jobs on board am waiting.-1 |
I didn't bother to read through your code since you have posted the error you are getting. You are getting that error because you have not configured your local webservers SMTP settings. Note that you will not get that particular error when you run your code online. So assuming there's no other problem with your code, there is nothing to worry about as it will work when you place it online. |
1. Browsers (Mozilla, Chrome) 2. Notepad++ - Text editor 3. Pidgin (All in one: Skype, Yahoo, GTalk) 4. Mozilla Thunderbird - Email client 5. SecureCRT - SSH client |
I like the design of your site and the text editor displayed in the screen there looks just like my "home" environment with Notepad++. The "Register Now" button gives no noticeable feedback when clicked because the registration from is already in focus on page load. If the green button is replaced by a green arrow pointing to the registration form it may pass a better message. |
Put "https://" in the address bar before www.facebook.com or whatever Facebook link that's returning blank. I don't know what the problem is, that's just a solution that works. |
Gain mastery over it, create gravity-defying layouts. Take the box model and think outside the box. As to what else CSS is used for....well the answer lies within you. Let your creativity answer that. |

Afam I am talking about CMS and opensource in the Shared Hosting enviroment. In my opinion it is a bad idea and will always wish CMS dead for this reason or better still a solution is gotten for the abuse of opensource. Host service providers cannot go chasing all its clients and flogging them to update their CMSs. All it takes to ruin xmas for a server is to implement an old vuln on a site that isn't updated or an 0-day on a site, all within the shared hosting context. I'm not against opensource however its abuse has become widespread and we don't see an end to the spread in the near future. The goal of opensource was to "see, use and extend", its abuse now is "see, look for holes and wreak havoc". |
Your site could be suspended for many reasons: Vulnerability: Since you're running an opensource script (I pray CMS and opensource dies in 2013, it may never happen but I pray) your site may have been compromised with a known vuln to be used in a malicious way. SPAM: Forums attract bots and depending on your site's notification settings, your site may end up sending several welcome and notification emails a day to the hundreds of bots you have. That can be flagged as spamming. DNS hack: Your site's DNS may have been hacked to point to a phishing site of a payment gateway or a bank. There are many more reasons. CMS and Opensource open you to endless possibilities and endless frustrations. Its an inseparable bundle. I don't see anything wrong in your account being suspended. In fact it may have been necessary to suspend the account in other to save the whole server failing. I however have a problem with their follow up process. You should have been informed once your account was suspended and you should have been advised on the way forward because even if your account is compromised it cannot be cleaned by you while its suspended. They shouldn't wait for you to ask. I also have a problem with cPanel's default "Suspension" page and I think the makers of cPanel know they were quite silly and blunt with it so they made it possible for you to edit it to something nice like "This site is currently unavailable, we will be back shortly. Please be patient". That can be done only by the root user through the WHM interface not by you. Changing host is not a likely solution. You change host, you upload your compromised site/backup to new host, they suspend you (but nicely this time) when your site shows itself. That's assuming there's a compromise on your site now. |
Yawa congrats, we will always have your back in bugs and in features. |
Odunnu: That comes as a surprise to you? I cant speak my language tooThat explains why all the love letters I sent to you in your dialect haven't touched your heart. ![]() |

Photoshop for photography. Fireworks for web graphics |
In addition to Webdezzi's post on Adwords: You can get back to the company and simply tell me they need to decide how long they want to run their ads and the daily budget they want to spend on ads. The daily amount you spend on ads will affect the effectiveness of your campaign. So if you spend terribly low amounts daily you get low traffic. This doesn't mean you should spend so much, it can backfire. Also have them choose whether to use per impression or per click. For SEO, there are too many unordered materials online for SEO (and for practically every other subject), you have to be focused. Take up one good SEO book finish it. You can learn the ropes with one good book and continue to improve on your knowledge through hands-on experience. |

albiedyer: They must be excellent in working with graphics software, like Photoshop. No they don't have to have a working knowledge of graphics software. They work with Graphics Designers collecting the finished jobs and slicing it using Html and CSS. This is by definition though, in practice one person does the work of a Web Designer, Graphics Designer and Web Developer. |
Morale: In the beginning, Apple compromised Adam's babe in the Amazon rain forest. In the 20th century, Apple compromised Mat's life with the help of Amazon. Stay away from the complexities of apples and try a simple fruit like a berry or something. Confession: I didn't read the whole article, it was too Apple-centric. iSorry pls. |
A Web Designer is one who contributes to a site's development using HTML and CSS (and possibly Javascript). A Web Designer can resort to using CMS however the use of CMS alone does not make anyone a Web Designer. A CMS user with admin privileges is called an Administrator. |
Assuming your old and new hosts run on cPanel. Log into your old host's cPanel and go to "backup". Create a full backup and store it or download it. Contact your new host and give them the backup file asking for them to place it in the /home directory of their server and help you do a restore from their WHM interface. Alternatively you could give your new host your cPanel details of your old host and any averagely nice host will be more than willing to help you do the seamless transfer. |
SureBiz: They are real, SureBiz: Just Did a reverse look up on cloudsms , its cloudhost's platform they use too,It won't take any normal person more than 3 minutes to go through your profile and see you are behind the said webhosting site. Hiding under the guise of a very satisfied user of your own service is lame. You should be coming out in the open to assure this OP that the said webhosting site has a Nairaland presence so he can "follow" your Nairaland ID and ask any troubling questions about the services he wants to go for. I am not on the lookout as to where to host my sites however if I was, yours certainly would have been removed from my list of options as the first impression I have gotten is deception. |
