dont8: I just read a very nice write-up by Mynd_44 in a Romance Section, but which ofcourse, he didn't finish, huh thereby putting a lot of people in suspense!

Going by that, I now remembered a very interesting movie by Mainframe Production titled 'Yellow Card' which was shown by AIT in 1997 or thereabout which has part ll and uptill now I've not seen it.

Another one is an American season film 'Commander-in-Chief' and so many others.

So, let's have yours and possibly, how to get them.
u know, i must really tell you to get your mind off that mynd guy. rumour has it he did some time at yaba left and since then there has been this thing bout his mind taking time in rotation to dwell on issues and in the course of it all, some things are forgotten entirely. my suggestion is for you to get over it and move on...thats how i deal with such issues...get over it

candieangel12: Yeah, true but I'd rather be safe than sorry. And anyways I dont really know anyone from my villa, so its not like I call it my home. I don't plan on setting foot there ever, unless its 4 a family members funeral or wedding.
i grew away from home and have very few friends there apart from family. these friends i made myself but above all these, the feeling that am home and the comfort from the fact that where ever i call my name am not only known but strangers become brothers is second to non. it may not be the case in ur place though and when i say brother, i mean against anything external but within, u still have to battle the evil of man. in ii other words, 'the witch wey nearly suck u dry for night go follow you fight stranger for morning...wierd, right?
TravelRe: How Often Do You Visit Your Village? by dubem3(m): 6:53pm On Nov 14, 2012
candieangel12: Erm, because they believe that some people in our villa are out to do more harm than good to my siblings and I, like with their black magic and stuff. I've heard stories of weird things happening from my cousins that used to live in the villa, but I don't know if I truly believe it. But to be on the safe side, me and my siblings just stay away from the villa.
you know, i dont deny the existence of all these maliciouness but what i do refuse to agree with is the fact that some people who are too cowardly to make themselves known will chase me away from home, mu place of final retreat nay...i had a few encounters but i still go home. in the long run, its God that protects...did u ever ask urself what you will do if the located you in the city?
will you keep running?
them cant do natin but hide inna the darkness

Torch1: So are you saying that mkpisi ukwu or mbo okpa is wrong Igbohuh?
they are both correct
weda ukwu or okpa
the number of homophones and homonyms in the igbo language is amazing and that accounts for part of the reason its diffcult.to learn

ifyalways: I think that's about the closest we can get for the noun Being.

Living being= eke di ndu
non living being= eke na adighi ndu
supreme being = eke kachasi
eke di ndu - living liver
eke n'adighi ndu - dead liver
eke kachasi - the biggest liver
grin grin grin

ogugua88: What are the pronouns and some common verbs and negations?

I know:

a = I
i/gi = You
o = he/she/it
anyi = we
unu = You

I don't know "they". Some verbs I'd like to know are "be/to be", "can", "will", etc.

As per negations, is it always "ro"? As in, "o di ro nma" (it's not good)?
unu is plural for you ie refers to more than one person (if am not mistaken)

ItsModella: Where I'm from, we would say "kedu ife ina akpalili mmadu"
ife, ihe, ive - something (all na the same)
mkpali, mkpari - insult (same thing)
a major difference between pronouciation in the anambra and imo dialect is the exchange of L for R and F for H

literarily,nnanyi means our fada

more recently,its been used for a variety of reasons as the users fancy dictates

afam4eva: If you must change your name due to it's perceived negative meaning, why not change it to another name in your dialect. Why must it be changed to a foreign(mostly english) name. As for me as i used to bear an English name but had to stop using it. I hate English names.
i had to relegate my English name too
i may change my surname but
cetainly to another native name
never contemplated another English name
the one i got without my consent is one too many

honeric01: none of my siblings argue with me, both young and old, i store things i see/read or hear and hardly forget a thing. My girlfriend thinks i'm an alien.
unlike you,when questioned i may not always be able to give you the answers. these answers i get go into my sub conscious and guide my actions together with the environment in form of premonitions...its wierd sometimes when i can tell you what you want to talk about or where you are going to or even how an event will turn out. this does not happen all the time though.
