3.  Do not allow everyone to have own opinion. Rather than ever admit that there might be multiple opinions about a particular player, event or whole game, insist in all your writing that your opinion is the only possible conclusion that can be reached.  Anyone who can’t see it is A SlowPoke.  A one line put down for someone speaking up for a player you are slagging off is the best way to deal with alternative perspectives.  Your view is that it is possible to see the world through a singular pair of eyes.  In which case anyone who disagrees is clearly not seeing the world as it should be.   (Which is why it is also important to develop an incredibly pompous style).

4.  Take as a starting point the vision that you know more than the manager, even if you have never managed a team, and never won the league title.  Likewise take also as a starting point the fact that your views are not being put into effect as proof that the manager has lost it.  Since there is only one right vision of the game, and you are expressing it, the manager is, by clear extension, a dope.   Clearly you must know more about the players’ abilities than the manager even though you don’t see the players in training, because you are critical of the manager.   In effect you have to take the vision that everything can be judged from the game.  This has to be self-evident.  What you must therefore deny is that a match can be part of the development of a side.  So if you were there watching the first games of Bergkamp or Pires or Henry you would say, “they are rubbish, they can’t score, they can’t pass”, because if you watch those first games (in Pires’ case most of the first season) you will not see the players they became.   Becoming and developing are not permissible.  Everything is to be judged on the game today.  If it is not right today, the player must go.

5.  If the manager gets it right, argue that he should have done it before (on the grounds that you have been telling him).  This again is part of the argument about being against development – if the manager believes that a player can develop and become better and better, you will not allow that.  Since no one is right all the time, the manager will make mistakes, but since you are against all development, anyone who plays for the club and is not perfect has to go.

6.  Never admit you were wrong. This is easy because you know you are never wrong.  In fact, a short-term memory dysfunction is rather good here.   Keep it simple.   Insult anyone who disagrees with you, since your approach is obviously right.  If you were part of the “Song’s not fit to wear the shirt,” brigade after the game against Fulham, just let that memory go, unless you really want to stand up against the crowd and say that Song is still no good.  But be careful – go too far and you could look silly!

7.  If we win well, say that we were lucky. If the defence shuts out the opposition, say that the opposition attack was weak and that we won’t be ok when we come up against real opposition.  In short, when we win always say, “don’t kid yourselves.”  Remind everyone of the defeats that have hurt all of us, and focus strongly on them.  A good line would be, “You can’t seriously believe that an Arsenal team that can be beaten 3-0 at home is actually going to win anything.”   It is important to ignore details.

8.  Avoid statistics, especially such things that show in numbers that Denilson touches the ball more than other players, makes more passes than other players, has more successful intercepts than other players.  If anyone else quotes stats then say, “you can prove anything with statistics.”  Alternatively make some up – for example arguing that our attacking potential is clearly useless, when we are in fact joint top scorers in  the league.

9.  Always deny that you are part of the doom and gloom mob by saying that you are telling it as it is, and that anyone who suggests otherwise is being silly or silly, or whatever insult you want.   Call any blog that does not agree with you, “an unhealthy love-in”.  But do not at any time have anything to do with humour.  This is a serious matter and must be discussed seriously at all times.

10.  Ignore all economic realities. Ignore the fact that Chelsea are run and owned by a Russian to whom the club is now £700m in debt.  Ignore the fact that Manchester United are £750m in debt and have stopped paying interest on their borrowings.  Ignore the fact that Liverpool are £350m in debt and the banks want their money back.  Ignore the fact that West Ham are living in three month bursts as they wait every quarter for the courts in Iceland to decide how much longer they can live.  Ignore the fact that a coup, economic downturn or simple bout of plain old boredom could leave Manchester City as much on the scrap heap as Portsmouth.  Ignore all these and other economic truths, and insist that the only way to win anything is by buying some of the top players of the moment at current prices.[/quote]Now examine yourself and see if you partake in any of these.

Almunia isn't bad but he isn't very good either, Tech9 is doing very well on his loan at Brentford (has had about 3 MOM performances in 6 appearances for them), he will go out on loan again in the new year and then will be back next season to take up the gloves.

All dem criticisms of overdribbling is cos he was playing on the wing. You wont see overdribbling when he's playing in CM.

I will take a player who can at least hold the ball and dribble ahead of one who just runs around all day.

Muki, its not just about scoring but the total contribution in the game and that is the root of my complaints about Walcott.

Goal or not, Eduardo has got some problems that need sorting out, I wonder if everything is as it shld be on the home front.

The formation on ESPN had Diaby as the most advanced MF player, I think Nasri will be dropping in to the center a lot, Diaby will almost play like a support striker to Asharvin while Eboue will provide width on the right. But Silvestre shld just keep his peace on the left cos he hasn't got the legs.

Statement expected from City at 7:30 today, it seems Hughes is about to get the sack and Mancini is being touted as replacement.

1. Fabregas at 16 was European U17 MVP and highest goal scorer (from a MF positions) at the U17 World cup in 2003
2. At 18 was a full spanish international
3. Was considered so good just like Ramsey, he wasn't allowed to play U18 football when he joined Arsenal at 16, he went straight into the reserves and the first team soon after.

Its not just about having your name in a victorious team but winning individual honours, can yu tell me just 1 honour Gravel has won apart from Winter's annual award for overrated players?

Sauron's statements can be very annoying atimes, he has no basis for his statements aside from an obviously biased Mr. Winter. Lets compare the careers of both players so far.

Won nothing so far
Not even a guaranteed starter in the current England Under 17s
Member of Manure's youth academy team currently lying 2nd in their division and 5 points behind leaders Blackburn rovers (albeit with game in hand).
Hasn't even played for the manure reserves (who aren't exactly setting their division alight) yet.

Jack Wilshere: born 01 January 1992
Victory shield winner with England at U16 level
FA youth cup winner(U18) at 17 years old, (with multiple MOM awards and still eligible to play in it for the next 2 seasons)
FA Premiership academy league winner (U18) at 17 years old

At this stage last year, Jack Wilshere had won Man of the match awards during Arsenal's Carling cup run including beating Wigan a PL club 3-0 in the carling cup (given bottles of champagne he couldn't drink cos of his age), even if you allow for age, Morrison is yet to achieve such a feat this year and even seems to find it difficult holding his own against his age mates.

Both Sauron and Mr. Winter must be on some very bad pills, I think the only youth matches Mr. Winter watches are those involving manure and he definitely has his red tinted glasses on during those matches.

You dey dere too that day? I think say na only me see am. The reason Arsene isn't playing Jack now is because we already have too many youngsters in the first team and he still a bit behind physically to compete in the PL at the level expected of Arsenal.
I have so much faith in that boy. I wldn't bet against him going on to have a stormer at any team he goes on loan to, the boy is that gifted and his game is so matured that he needs to be playing. I understand Arsene's fear but Wilshere is not the type of player yu hold back, I wld be more comfortable with Arsene giving him game time than Theo as he can't do worse IMO.

You dey mind Sauron, he is on a wind up misssion. I actually saw a post where he was trying to convince our resident Nazi that England had talent and the first name he had on the list was Wilshere. 

If Wilshere had emerged 2 seasons ago, I'm sure he wouldn't have gone on loan, we have a lot of young players all coming through at the same time (even our first team is actually full of young players who need playing time). I think its a good idea for Wilshere to go on loan and it is indicative of his rating that a PL team is actually asking for him.

Walcott is still developing - he's only 20 and no footballer's development can be said to be complete at that age. Let's judge him either after sufficient games or at the end of the season before we say he's a failure or otherwise.

It is unwise to compare player development in certain guises - people proceed at different levels. That Cesc and Ramsey seem to be doing pretty well at 17/18 doesn't mean everyone will.

Theo has needed significant operations - two shoulder operations (that have modified his running style) and the knee op in addition. Let him get a consistent run of games and we'll see his quality shine through.

Of all the points made in Theo's defence, this is the most valid so far, as I said previously I am surprised someone who was so highly rated could now be looking almost out of sorts on a football pitch. I trust Arsene will give him his chance as much as possible particularly because we need to prove our credentials with developing English talent. I wish Theo all the best but I'm glad we have Ramsey and Wilshere so close to the first team.

FYI, I believe Aaron Ramsey at 18 is already twice the player Theo will ever be which basically tells you all there is to say. I can almost count the number of good games I've seen Theo play in. Yes you've got the occasional moment when his outstanding pace is put to good use but it is his contribution over the duration of a match and over a season that I question.
And why exactly is it that Ramsey and Song went on to have the games of their lives when they played in this so called inconsequential match while Theo didn't? I'll give you an explanation, he can't hold the ball and can't pass, doesn't know what to do with the ball if he isn't running at or away from someone, he is only good in counter attacking situation just like against liverpool and while that is a nice variation to have, that is not the main Arsenal style.

I won't talk much about Merida and Theo, just watch as their careers unfold. In a footballing sense, the distance between them is just too great even if its just in versatility alone. Merida was on loan to Sociedad in the spanish Segunda and walked into their first team as a playmaker and nearly earned them promotion. Do you know how many spanish clubs want him? or why do you think Arsene is loathe to lose him?

One of the hallmarks of an exceptional player is to be able to fit into multiple roles and I've seen Jack play across the MF to wide forward and he has been good anytime he plays (He might not be exceptional in a game like at Olympiacos and he obviously has a lot of physical development yet to do but he wouldn't be crappy). He doesn't depend on any one attribute, passes well, has good vision, can beat his man with skill and generally makes it look all simple.

For me, its about optimizing the use of your resources, I saw Theo with basically a reserves team and he looked like the worst player on the pitch, I dare say Diaby has never looked like that. If he can't shine in a team of reserves, how does he justify his first team shirt and why exactly should he get more opportunity ahead of the likes of Merida who have never looked so crappy?

For the avoidance of doubt, here are Theo's appearances in the first team since he joined us in 2006 compared to Diaby.

You can see the steady growth in appearances year on year, meaning he is considered a first teamer now and should no longer be judged as a developing player.

That's the crucial fact that is ignored so far. Someone who has delivered in UCL semis and against BIG teams is being slated like this? Yes we all have high expectations and should rightly be disappointed, but writing him off is patently unfair.
Most of all by duduspace - if Diaby can be given time, then why on earth should we give up on Walcott?

I'm not saying he shouldn't be given time and I still believe he is going to be a PL quality player. He might just be the right player coming at a wrong time. Arsenal at this stage can't afford to be carrying passengers, it is you folks who will blame Arsene at the end of the season if we end up trophyless.

I have always stated my opinion of him even before now when the clamour for his head is growing. I also don't believe we are getting enough for what we have invested, if it was Vela who has been given the first team run Theo has had so far, I can't begin to imagine what manner of player we would have in our hands by now.(Theo has been in the first team frame since the 07/08 season)

I agree its not everyday precocious talents like Cesc, Messi or Rooney comes along, Theo was seen in that light previously but he has not developed further. I don't believe in form players who blow hot and cold, I believe a player gets to a level of performance which he then maintains like Song, Cesc and even Traore in recent times.  I see basic flaws in Theo's game that have been there since he arrived and are still as glaring.

Don't say what you know nothing about, Owusu did not go much beyond his initial Pro contract extension before he was sold, Aliadiere never did well on his loans and never really got into the first team.
