Why the guy no see swine flu outbreak? that is the first thing god should have shown him. |
Bloke have you ever considered it for once that while the christian faith might have been bloodthirsty in the past your intolerant religion is still as bloodthirsty (possibly even more bloodthirsty) as it was when that looney prophet of yours walked the earth. If any religion can be said to be for lunatics and psycopaths it is islam. |
Same to you too and pls stop seeing sexual fantasies in everything, a one track mind don't do much good. ![]() |
felifeli:I don't see any sexual fantasies about. If you have any you want to share or yu're feeling Hot, the romance section eagerly awaits you. |
noetic:I doubt that you sincerely mean this but if yu do, you are either: 1. Mentally retarded 2. A blatant liar and peddler of falsehood 3. A lunatic living in his own world The question is, which are you? |
noetic:You are silly, and please refrain not from doing whatever you want to do. You are being exposed for the hypocrite yu are with each post yu make from the little sense gleaned from yur babblings. noetic:What sympathy card? where have I appealed to yu or anyone's sympathy? or yu dnt knw what sympathy means? I think yu've gone bananas, yu better cool down before yu go critical and what does being new or not to nairaland have to do with this discussion when we're discussing a particular issue? eh Mr. Ontology. Meeen yu're one messed up individual. noetic:Your insanity grows by the second, here is my original statement could you please point out the falsehood I'm buttressing.
Yeesh, are yu telling me you beleive everything you hear? even your bible talks of confirming by one or more witnesses (at least some good piece of common sense philosophy worth listening to in the midst of the fantasy stories your so called holy book is full of).
|
noetic:Thanks for the compliment but no thanks for the disguised insults.
I HAVE NEVER HEARD OF A MIRACLE IN ANY OF THE THREE RELIGIONS U STATED. islam is more pre-occupied with amputation, beheading, flogging, marrying underage girls, abusing omen rights and killing to spread the gospel of "allah". I have never heard, seen or witnesed healing or miracles of any kind under the banner of islam. The same goes for budhists. The last time I checked satanists just like atheists worship themselves (atheists foolishly call theirs "free thinking" .So who is the miracle worker here? Miraculous works of the Father is a work found amongst those called by the name of Christ.
Another open display of hypocrisy for all to see, I leave others to deal with you on this.
I can accuse u of both. I think it amounts to intellectual inconsistency if u question my beliefs, but cannot define or substantiate yours. I understand u are an atheist. an atheist believes in the non-existence of Jehovah GOD. Who is Jehovah GOD? what is HIS ontology?
You think wrong and make me wonder if you understand at all what the use of the intellect is all about. The only way to reason is by asking questions and testing out assumptions using what, if and why scenarios. If you accuse me of intellectual inconsistency because I question your beliefs, then I wonder if you use your intellect at all. It matters not at all if you beleive that I cannot define or substantiate mine (even though yu did go ahead and define it in your own way) since we are all students looking for answers to questions of life. On a side note, you seem enamoured with the use of the word ontology, yu've used it so much yu're sounding like a scratched record.
This is another case of inconsistency. u dont believe in the potency of the bible, so y refer to it to justify ur rhetorics?
This is pitiable and could only have come from the Davidylan school of "Win the argument by all means possible" what in that statement has anything to do with the potency of the bible? shows you are just shouting and not listening at all. Read the statement again without your fanatical mind and bias filled googles. |
felifeli:And what happened to those inconsistencies? they've suddenly become consistent?, you sound like you need to have your batteries recharged cos yu seem to be hearing non-existent laughter. felifeli:Yes the great atheists are gone, dead and long buried but their revealing insight and philosophy live on as evidenced on this forum. It is however also true that the age old mythological creation of the "Collective unconscious" called god has also survived mostly in areas devoid of development such as the developing world. |
Well, it is not a sin until the 11th commandment is broken. |
noetic:As Jesus said in the bible, "You said it", I must point out though that in light of the dearth of information, what you have pointed out is a distinct possibility that was playing around somewhere at the back of my mind. noetic:Having a pre-conceived opinion that prayer works denies you the ability to objectively analyse a case, hence your coming to hasty conclusions in the dim light of inconclusive evidence. A clear indication of your bias and hypocrisy would be your inability to extend the same mindset to reported cases of healings by other religions e.g. islamic, buddhist, satanists e.t.c. You can accuse me of bias my dear but you can't accuse me of inconsistency. noetic:Yeesh, are yu telling me you beleive everything you hear? even your bible talks of confirming by one or more witnesses (at least some good piece of common sense philosophy worth listening to in the midst of the fantasy stories your so called holy book is full of). |
felifeli:Interesting felifeli, what can I say? I do wonder how come such an awe inspiring event did not get much publicity, you possibly should write a book about this and you should be inspired to find out how your miraculous/unexplainable recovery came to be rather than coming to (what I consider to be an hasty conclusion that it was due to the prayers offered on your behalf). I say this because of the statement in bold, in which you stated that friends and family prayed "all over the world" as this is too wide a sample space to draw any definite conclusions, I'm sure you would prefer to take a single tablet of panadol to cure an headache than to peel the bark from all the trees in the forest to make a concoction that would cure you? Also, I must point out that even if what you have said is true, there are still a lot of possible explanations as people have been misdiagnosed in the past (yes, mistakes do occur even in the developed world and I knw you are well aware of that with your anti-british tirades on the forum) Anyways congrats on getting through such an harrowing period, please do remember to go for regular check ups and don't fall into the trap which some people do who claim to be healed and refuse their medications which subsequently leads to further complications. |
felifeli:We would be so honoured to have you recount one you have witnessed. |
God did not speak in only one language, the Bible was not written in only one language. It is not unusual that God revealed himself to other nations as well.
At any given point in time I meant, and why don't the words all align? why didn't he speak to africans? why only greek and Aramaic? he is the all powerful, ominipotent, omnipresent and omnianythingyucanthinkof? surely it can't be so difficult for him to do some type of broadcasting can it? If we human beings can develop IT infrastructures such as Certificate authorities to verify the authenticity of digital documents, why can't God give us a mean of authenticating his own words? He seems to be a very puny and incompetent being. |
mazaje:I'm good, still settling into my new surroundings but its all good sha. |
Krayola:No they don't, he offers a trial and then collects payment when it is offering time. ![]() |
davidylan:Why are you embarrasing yourself like this just to prove a nonexistent point? the statements in bold are totally false. Geese have been shown to follow the first moving object they encounter (even though it is usually their mother) how does that translate to determining what action is conducive for survival? and a baby would suck anything you put into its mouth even if it is a nail or poison which would kill it. The actions might be conducive for survival but there is not determination on the part of the individual because they are innate instincts unlike the conscience which is not innate but developed due to social conditioning. Don't confuse issues, the subject in dispute is about the knowledge of right and wrong in a baby/child. |
davidylan:Just as I thot, the idiot fell right into the trap. The response to flee from a lion is actually learnt by a gazelle. A gazelle brought up in the proximity of lions from birth would never flee from a lion and would be eaten by a wild one. A gazelle however would flee from the heat of fire in response to the pain stimulus. I deliberately did that even though your answer is contradictory to your earlier statement which I will repeat below.
If a child is blank as regards the concept of right and wrong . . . how did he come born with a survival instinct which in essense is simply a concept on how and how not to survive?
And if you don't see the contradiction in your statement in light of the example given of the Gazelle then you are dumber than I initially thought. |
noetic:And what (if anything) does this have to do with discussions in this thread? Seems like some members of the "Brotherhood of the deluded" engaging in some back slapping, why don't you go hang out in a gay bar while you are at it? |
@Lady I'm sure you do know that the human mind is feeble and people will come up with anything to explain away their actions or inaction. What I'm sayin is, if this didn't happen to you don't for once be a 100 percent sure it is real. In fact I will only accept it as a possibility with a chance very near to 0. A love potion is as real as a fail proof aphrodisiac, I'm sure in Nigeria one night stands would be explained away as being the effect of some spell being cast by one of the participants. |
Faith is an unwavering belief in something (rational or irrational) that is yet to happen, when time and chance (probability) conspire to make it reality some folks attribute the success to religious beliefs and explanations but when it doesn't, you are either ridiculed or told that your faith is not enough (if you are alive in the aftermath that is). |
davidylan:I'm still very much amazed a scientist could talk like this, are the brain and CNS of a lion the same as that of a human? and just so you know Hunting skills are learnt in Lions and most other Carnivores (watch any feature on your documentary channel if you have one) davidylan:Silly questions not worth answering, I repeat again that the blank slate referred to the understanding of right and wrong. davidylan:Speak to the man in the mirror davidylan:Am I to assume (based on this statement) that a Gazelle with the survival instinct to flee from a lion also understands the concept of right and wrong? Your use of the word "EVERYTHING" shows your tendency to deal in absolutes, an early indication of a fanatic, an inflexible mind or plain obstinacy. davidylan:Please look at my response and wonder whether you use your brain at all. |
noetic:and what is your point exactly? did I mention anything about the Devil? I only pointed out someone utilizing Sci-Fi concepts to explain why the devil must go to hell. Of course, the Devil must go to hell just as the Terminator has to be defeated so that John Connor could live. Story telling is almost as old as man you know? |
davidylan:The "Artful Twister" and erudite scholar of the "By any means possible debating school" is at work again, the blank slate statement by Tudor was made in respect to the knowledge of right and wrong in a baby at birth (i.e development of the conscience). Is this the only snide remark you could come up with? don't tell me you've run out of peer reviewed articles to twist and selectively pick from. |
tpiah:Oh, so you now agree your so called cast-iron assurance of salvation is as worthless as beleiving in the Terminator franchise stories or the Star Wars Trilogy? i.e. you are all groping in the dark and looking for possible explanations to things you don't understand while claiming to know what you know nothing about. Not so surprising anyway since you always have a way to twist and turn through obvious inconsistencies in your long yarn of meaningless rubbish. Pray, when did your fear of going to hell become a need to perpetuate lies at all costs? |
Like I said, some more research needs to be done by mazaje if she will make claims.
Seriously, is mazaje female? have to go check. |
Question: If I write a book using codes/language for only a set of people to understand, will you be the one to tell what is being said or will the people who understands the language/codes be the ones to tell you what is said? Seriously answer the question.
You are spot on here Lady, but why would God (who made everyone) decide to speak in only one language (while himself supposedly scattered men's languages after the Tower of Babel debacle)? You should then agree that God himself is responsible for the confusion in the world (yet he is still a perfect God?) |
@mazaje "Behold, These are coming from afar. These from the north and the west and these from the land of Sinim" was said by prophet Isaiah, an come to find out that Sinim is the name for China in Hebrew. hmm, go figure. http://www.pbs.org/wgbh/nova/israel/losttribes3.html Now I'm not saying that it is true. I am only saying others who have also done their research will disagree with you. So maybe some more research is in order? Just suggesting.
Abeg, is there a record of the Ooni of Ife, Alaafin of Oyo, Sultan of Sokoto e.t.c. The writer of that passage of the bible was caught in some exaggeration. Lady my dear just admit it, we can excuse him on the basis that he was probably a politician with an expansive vocab. If you can't defend the bloke, then no one can. |
He has been judged and a verdict has been passed. Eternity is different from the time on the planet here. Its good satan is satan, that way God`s children are strengthened.
Surprise, surprise, I thot christianity and Sci-fi don't mix, my oh my we'll soon be having Jesus and God existing in alternative universes or parallel time lines. |
No difference at all, they are simply different cadres in a profession of lies. |
Yep Lady, if you're caught with your hand in the cookie jar you can always claim to be returning one. |
vwvw:No surprises, religion itself is fraud and like begets like. |
I wonder o, brein seems to be in his own world, no wonder why he beleives he will grow wings and fly one day. Abeg make the guy no live for penthouse o, I no fit shout. ![]() |
