Eldee, yu can take your codes and shove it where the sun don't shine. ![]() Don't need any code since yu didn't send me the H-2-H. ![]() Infact, I'm deleting myself from the main league in protest. ![]() |
follypimpi:I can pass that question back as a question as well, something in the lines of how come Barcelona hasn't signed Cesc yet? ![]() does the long drawn out transfer really tell us anything about Cesc's ability? Basically, valuations differ and player's interests also have to be considered, e.g. it was rumored that Arsenal had a deal with Benfica last season for Traore but that he couldn't agree on the salary with Benfica and of course we all know the biggest salaries are paid in the PL. Just as we are willing to now sell Cesc to Barca but can't agree on a price, like Arsene says, there are 3 parties to a successful transfer. Player's interests are less clear cut, it could range from the silly such as Tevez missing his family to the ridiculous such as Reyes feeling cold in London. In addition to what I was saying before about how much we pay those players and how much they make for the club, we also make money on loan fees, if I'm not mistaken we've already made about 500k plus on Traore when loaning him to Juventus last season and we made a million loaning Senderos to AC Milan before he went on a free and then got snapped up by Fulham. I'm almost certain Fulham wouldn't have bought him from us if they needed to pay, I don't blame them as they have to balance their own books as well. You can see for example that Bartley's contract just got renewed today, you can expect news about Frimpong soon as well. |
@Proudly I also think Myles is talking gobbledook, according to coogar's diagram, there has consistently been about a 20m - 30m differential in the wage bill between Arsenal and Manure, if yu look closely at the graph, yu'll see it started right about 2006/07 (shortly after the move to the emirates), stayed steady between 08/09 and actually seems to be increasing again through 2010 (the 2011 figures I believe will show even a larger difference) and has stayed same since indicating a clear shift in priorities. Where I disagree with cougar is in his assumption that 20m - 30m is a small amount of money, considering that at a time Arshavin was our highest earner at 8m per annum (from the 2010 forbes list of highest paid footballers), that amount would have effectively given us about 3 - 4 more Arshavin class players on the wage bill so that in footballing terms can in no way be considered little. One thing I've omitted though is the amount in tranfer fees it would cost to bring in such players. With the change in priorities as well came a change in the wage bill structure, it was also important to secure the value of those players that were seen to have potential and being developed from within in order to avoid losing them (a lesson learnt with the Flamini experience), if yu've noticed, once a player gets into the first team frame, he gets a long term contract (Wilshere and Ramsey were recently contracted till 2016 and that is the reason Vela, Denilson, Bendtner are all contracted till 2014). Now, I won't get into an argument about the amounts we are paying these budding players relative to other clubs, at present our modus operandi is not exactly like any other club in the PL hence the hate we have to live with from all quarters but all I'll say is that the board and Arsene aint idiots and the books are balanced anyway so I don't consider it anything worth raising dust over. What you need to keep in mind is that the alternative to securing the future of those players are the huge transfer fees we aren't paying when those players deliver on the initial promise they showed. A good way to look at it is to imagine how much we would need to pay to buy a player of Ramsey/Wilshere's class in 2 - 3 years time or even now considering how much 'pool got Henderson for. I agree it won't work for all players but then is there anything with exactly 100% certainty in this life? and mind you, as bad as they are now considered to be, Bendner and Denilson have delievered a top 4 finish year on year so they are not exactly as bad as they are being painted and IMO are worth the 40k - 60k per annum or so that they are reputed to be earning. |
debosky:I get the stuff about us playing a high line but honestly the boy is just damned fidgety, not sure if its because its pre-season but neither Mannone nor Fabianski came out as much as he did. I think he is very exhuberant. Imagine how far out he was when Chamakh and Vela were coming in, and he kept doing it all through the match. https://img651.imageshack.us/img651/6447/20110731174750.jpg |
debosky:True word, Bartley will get the bad press of an own goal but Eboue was majorly culpable, the way he considered the corner was embarrasing and then not showing enough awareness to pressure Henry quickly in the box was pretty shoddy. Rosicky can still do a job in the middle but Arsene must make sure he never plays him wide again, he no longer has the legs Afobe had a very encouraging game, impressive pace to go past the full back on occasion and a level head to choose the right options in the box, a pity nothing came of them. Szczesny is a cocky and supremely confident individual but I hated the way he kept coming out of the defence when we were on the attack almost like a sweeper, if he continues with it, he will be embarrased some day by a long punt like one of those Xabi Alonso half line lobs. If our current lot of players need any further motivation to apply give their all to win trophies, they need only look at the reception Henry got today, that man is a god at the emirates. |
Ibime:So I finally learnt today from some old man we got talking to where we parked. He got the boo treatment again today. Rooney don punish us no be small, I'm sure his younger brother would deliver the message from Arsenal fans. ![]() hannie:Same thing I was thinking o (grasping at straws) until I checked the last time we didn't win it was 08/09 and in that season we looked like going out of the top 4 until Arshavin was bought ![]() I'm not too bothered about the fact we didn't win it though, a lot of experimentation was going on. I hope Arsene acts on what he learns from it. |
Was at the game today, points I noted. Samir couldn't be bothered to play in the first half, only put in a bit of effort after taking on the captain's band in the 2nd half. Kept pulling out of the 50/50 balls. Anyone who thinks JD is better than Kos needs to have a rethink, I could personally count 3 times Kos had to clear up behind him in the first half before being pulled off and he did cost us at the end of it all, at this point in time our first choice CB pairing should be Kos and TV5. Frimpong might pull off a Wilshere this season, Song cannot afford to be complacent with the way the boy is coming up. He effectively marshalled Riquelme along with Wilshere until he tired out towards the end of the 2nd half and wasn't helped much by Ramsey who kept up his bad habit of losing the ball in dangerous areas, I'm undecided if he is so good or if Wilshere made him look so good. Chamakh looks to have gained a bit of form, work rate was back today and a whole lot of commitment. Vela finally showing glimpses of the initial promise and like he has knuckled down, the boy deserves an opportunity to show what he can do with a consistent run in the side, his run which set up Ramsey's goal showed the kind of guts he's been often accused of not having, he took a couple of knocks and had to go receive some treatment shortly after. Other players like Jenkinson, Traore, Arshavin and RVP did what one would expect of them, Gervinho was effective from both wings but the culprits for today were Squillaci and Djorou. Funny moment of the day, in the first match between PSG and NY red bulls, the bull's brought on a substitute named John Rooney and a loud boo rang round the stadium, after a while people burst out laughing cos he wasnt Wayne Rooney and someone said he was guilty by association. ![]() |
Why did AVB say City's spending is unfair? ![]() |
dayokanu:DK, how can Badstuber be good when his name starts with Bad? can anything good come out of something that begins with bad? ![]() |
@ritchboy Thanks jare, honestly don't have the appetite for all this digging up of what people said in the past, seems I'm not as vindictive as some people on here but I hate being misquoted and my words twisted, damn even a primary school student would have understood what the references to Randall and Rossi meant but some blokes just had to create a storm in a teacup. Sheesh. |
proudly9ja:If Debo were Wenger, neither Wilshere or Szczesny would be playing for Arsenal today or does he want to deny his arguments with me in 2009/2010 season on same issue? Only I don't have time to go digging up old things that are long gone unlike some idle people with so much time on their hands to go digging up posts made in 2007. ![]() |
Not worth responding to, can we have the indices by which this ranking came about first of all and then maybe a worthwhile discussion can ensue. |
WTF is tpia saying here? I've often heard that women are the source of their own problems in this country but this takes the mickey. what the hell is gbese le or not gbese le? Is this silly King not aware that the Nigerian constitution overrides any customary laws he may claim to be following? I particularly find this statement of your's disturbing: you know if a monarch publicly announces a thing like that , the girl will run away asap.So you are quite comfortable with the monarch blocking the poor girl's only way of escape or what? ![]() what exactly do you consider to be violation and what sort of weird thinking is this? |
http://www.goal.com/en-india/news/2175/la-liga/2011/07/29/2595390/real-madrids-cristiano-ronaldo-kaka-offered-by-spanish Wahala dey o, CR9 and Kaka as collateral for loan, is someone about to start another credit crisis? ![]() http://www.heraldsun.com.au/sport/soccer/nicklas-bendtner-to-leave-the-gunners/story-e6frfg8x-1226103976450 Bendtner to Sporting for 9m looks like a good deal, I'll miss the cocky boy though. Emirates cup from tomorrow, who dey show? |
No need to cry Kandii, I'm here, need a cuddle? Just caught up in other stuff, I must learn this language. Something must be up with Mukina2, she's not usually away for this long. You in touch with her? I'm sure she'll be fine though. Nayah:Yes, I love the toothy smile, gives me the chills. woo hooo. ![]() |
debosky:If you see a backtracking, that is a figment of your imagination, brainwaves out of sync and other stuff I'm not privy to probably, If your eyes work well, I also drew a parallel with Mark Randall who is in Chesterfield, but obviously your all seeing eyes missed that. My words speak for themselves, feel free to continue ranting. .And yes, JET is a talent who like Rossi has moved to get better opportunity elsewhere, how you choose to rate him in reference to Rossi is your cup of tea I don't want to get involved in, there was never a consideration of or reference to talent levels in my original assertion so there is no backtracking involved here except that which exists in your mind. |
coogar:I'll give that the minutest of thots after yu've gone to lick Wilshere's boot clean with your tongue at the emirates for daring to compare him to Morrison. ![]() debosky:A comparison of circumstances? YES A comparison of ability? NO Surely yu're able to distinguish between the two No? ![]() You think I'm sad about JET? far from it I'm happy the boy will now start getting games, yu can have all the talent in the world but if there is no place to express it, its of no use. Where were the likes of Henderson when JET and co were winning the Youth cup? Infact I dey go pub now sef go drink a few pints to the boy's transfer and more money in the bank. Wanna tag along? ![]() |
dayokanu:Gbenu e soun jare and concentrate on your team. wetin concern parable for this matter? abi parable resemble paraga for your dictionary? wetin be your position sef wey you dey talk? ![]() Eldee, its you I'm talking to jare. Wey my H-2-H code? abi did I miss a few digits from that account number you PM'd me? hasn't your bank balance reflected the payment yet? ![]() |
coogar:When he wins WPOTY, no when he wins PFA play, I mean PFA young player of the year, I'll come on here and give you an unreserved apology. |
debosky:obviously you missed the concluding path of that statement, Learn this today, the full meaning of that often misused phrase: Nec audiendi qui solent dicere, Vox populi, vox Dei, quum tumultuositas vulgi semper insaniae proxima sit Interpretation: And those people should not be listened to who keep saying the voice of the people is the voice of God, since the riotousness of the crowd is always very close to madness |
debosky:And did he not leave Manure when he had others ahead of him? You know I'm not like you weasling out of anything, if you choose to take the path of least resistance I don't. I stand by anything I say and I own up when I miss it and even stay on here to take any diss you lot want to throw. ![]() The point I made was not to compare the talent level of Rossi with that of JET, that is not a discussion I want to have with anybody, I've got better things to do. All I've said is that their circumstances were similar with their path to the first team being blocked by others the manager considered better with the solution being to release them so that they can get valuable playing time which is also required in the development of a player. Hold whatever opinion you want to about JET but don't come on here and imply I said things I never said. |
I like that JET has been allowed to go and develop elsewhere. The likes of Rossi were also sold by Manure and went away to make it elsewhere. It is better than rotting on the benches and becoming another Randall.
You are beginning to sound like those Profs who got their English language PhD in victorian times Debo, If you interpreted that to mean comparing JET with Rossi, then you need to go back for a refresher course in English. We will remove your title o. ![]() |
coogar:What sarcasm? that you told a lie or what? or that every venom that drips from your gob is meant in bad taste. Oloshi, o go o fenu ora. ![]() just checked and Ravel Morrison is still with Manure. be careful what you wish for. |
coogar:You go come start to dey deny the boy abi? Its only the ones who make it you want to know. ![]() My twopence is that the boy is actually very good infact, from an offensive perspective, he had something Wilshere hasn't shown much of recently in that he got goals (not sure if that is down to Wilshere playing a more withdrawn role nowadays). But some people are lost causes, all that drama in his personal life were bound to be trouble. Maybe Ole red nose should have persevered with the boy a little more to see if he matured with age. I don't think drugs can give you skills you never had and I doubt he took those drugs as performance enhancers, he is just a talented buffon in with the wrong crowd. On Another note sha, it seems there is some brainy chap at work in Ipswich, that is some serious talent they are getting in at good age ranges, if they can get those boys to hunker down and play, dem go hear weeen for Championship. They are really using the money they got from Wickham's sale to improve themselves. |
proudly9ja:I am on my knees pleading for that not to happen, and those boys are Arsenal fanatics. Lansbury should be playing for Arsenal. We need some more players who will go mental on the pitch for us than seemingly begging Cesc to stay. ![]() proudly9ja:Thank you o my brother, I wonder what part of that is so difficult to understand. |
coogar:You're welcomed to your opinion. Ravel Morrison nko? ![]() |
chamotex:And you go still hear am again. I never get time come una thread yet, I dey cover my bases first. ![]() |
dipo2much:I nor understand o? ![]() DK dey idle so devil dey find work for am. ![]() You can see Sharon and his assumption again about JET and Rossi again. Some people dey idle, if they choose to jump on my posts abeg indulge them jare. eldee:That season, Theo was looking pretty clueless jare. Even then I'll still play JET as a centre forward ahead of Theo sha. There are some players that Arsene sells and you wonder why. That Nordtveit boy we sold last season is better than this Jenkinson boy we just bought. The only reason why I don't question them in the long run is because at the end of the day, he is the one who works with them on a daily bases. |
coogar:And JET called you yesterday and told you he wanted to make the Arsenal bench his permanent abode or what the hell are you on about? ![]() JET is not angling for a MF position, he is now settled on a forward position. |
@Eldee Wey my code naa? do I have to pass envelope under your hotel door or wetin sef? |
dayokanu:What does a remark made about U21 strikers at that point in time have to do with JET's transfer to Ipswich? ![]() Why chose to neglect the main thrust of the statement about Jack Rodwell? ![]() Mind you, at the time I wrote this, JET had just gotten 5 goals in 12 games for Doncaster 2 seasons ago as an 18 year old, even Andy Carroll's return for Newcastle at that time wasn't as good. JET's growth got stunted due to the options ahead of him at Arsenal with Arsene unwilling to trust him and I think his leaving is a good outcome. Theo still doesn't play as a Striker JET's career is not over, infact it is just starting and he can still be better than than all those players, the boy is just 20. I expect him to be back in the PL in max 3 years. B52 is being pushed out of the Arsenal Squad, only its not JET doing the pushing. I hope DK will also remember to paste this when the boy breaks out. I like that JET has been allowed to go and develop elsewhere. The likes of Rossi were also sold by Manure and went away to make it elsewhere. It is better than rotting on the benches and becoming another Randall. If the boy sorts his issues out, he will be an elite player and I don't even think its issues like a big ego, its more about his work ethic, he's never come across as someone with a big ego every time I've listened to him, actually sounds quite level headed. I also like that he has gone to Ipswich because he will get games, he has basically gone there to replace Connor Wickham who has been sold to Sunderland. |
chamotex:Wey the table sef? una just dey make mouth nor comot table. ![]() chamotex:Erm bruv, it has happened in the past. Don't ask me the name of the club that profited from it sha. ![]() @Eldee Before Kasala burst for this thread, send my code o. ![]() ritchboy:Just tell me the topmost item on your bucket list is to go and make a big poo at the centre circle of the Allianz and I'll give you the money free. ![]() |
