@debosky

these boys are young and not getting good advice from family. Mikel did settle at Chelzea and not everything in the press is true. I still think our chances with that deal is high. Its not dead only sleepin. :-D

@Proudly

To be honest, that generation has been productive for us so far, JET was one of those I believed had everything to make it from that generation but Wilshere & Szczesny are already first teamers and we have Frimpong, Coquelin and Bartley all knocking loudly in my opinion. I wouldnt call Lansbury as being from that particular set as he was about a year older but he did play some U18 games with them as well so if about 4 of them end up in the Arsenal first team in the long term that would mean our Academy is very productive, that would be considerable saving in terms of players we would have been buying (considering Henderson went for 20m).

@Debosky
Seems the Campbell deal is back on, in fact I don't think it ever went totally off, its only the boy's family that needs to be convinced. I think we already have a deal with the club and we have them on our side, their director has always been positive in all its statements about the deal

I don't think fans will turn on Gibbs - fans have very selective memory. I keep emphasising, Ramsey lost us about 5 points compared to the extra two he secured from the goal against Utd, but despite the persistent errors, he can do no wrong to most Arsenal fans.
Stoke was one of those where he cost us but remember he was on an honeymoon period then after his injury. grin grin
If he persists at it, in time fans will catch on to it I think when it starts to cost us points or progression in cup games.

Where is Dr. Kit? I don't think he'll be glad to see this. As talented as JET is, attitude problems and a partying life style seems to be the reason for his departure. I don't think he could have done much more than what he did at Cardiff. I think Arsene has learnt his lesson with how people like Randall turned out rotting on the benches so they want to release him quickly so his development isnt stunted. My only grouse is that rather than these sell-on clauses, why aren't we also putting buy-back clauses when we sell some of these promising youngsters?  undecided JET is one of those I will keep my eyes on in the future cos he has everything to be a hit in the PL.
Seems Arsene has made his choice then of all the emerging forwards from the Academy, it seems its Benik Afobe who is going to progress. I expect to see Sanchez Watt released soon as well cos he isnt even near JET at all and I hear Rhys Murphy is also likely going to Boro.

@Eldee

I will never be one to say that Theo isn't intelligent, how far he has come from the debacle of 2 season ago to now says a lot about his intelligence. If you read his recent interview where he commented on Ryo, you'll find out he is one who does a lot of self appraisal and is quite in tune with his own capabilities.

I will say it and continue to say it and I believe Theo himself knows it hence his insistence on a central striking role, can you honestly compare Theo to players like Nani and Tarrabt playing from wide positions? I think it is wrong to say Theo has no football intelligence (whatever that means) IMO he is just too one dimensional. I strongly believe Theo can do as well as Hernandez if played from the middle (in terms of goals) and I doubt Hernandez would do as well as Theo from a wide position but that Ryo boy is a born wide player, I'm glad JJCD can see it, he might even fumble for some time at this stage of his career in terms of trying to do too much (remember Taraabt was sold by the spuddies only a season back, now he is someone PSG is willing to pay 13m for also remember for how long even Manure supporters hammered Nani) but all the ingredients are there and I'm sure we'll all see it unfold.

@JJCD
I was one of those who believed in Gibb's getting his chance, but I'm having a rethink on this pre-season performance. I still think he should get his chance, its no use sending him on loan now, the English media will only hate us more. grin I think Arsene's reasoning is to have him and Traore fight it out and have Vermaelen available as cover if neither of them works out. If we get this CB he talks about we'll have a lot of CBs and be able to do that rotation.
I'm in total agreement that not replacing Clichy is a massive risk, but if Gibbs is the future for both England and us, when exactly are we going to play him if not now that Clichy's place needs to be filled? undecided

Why won't I disagree? If Debo was Arsene's adviser both Szczesny and Wilshere would be planning for their 3rd loan spells by now.
Ryo deserves a chance to stake his claim, I didn't compare him to anyone.

lool@Cesc like pass. This guy ure obsessed with Ryo honestly.

The jury's still out though. I saw some things Theo did at Southampton at age 15 and 16 and yes he may have been a one trick pony at the early stages at Arsenal, I still think Ryo can't be compared to Theo at 18/19. But maybe Im being unfair to the guy. Like the other new signing, Il give him a few games to warm up and get used to the EPL. Sadly though, not sure he'l get enuf games especially if Nasri and Cesc stay.

@that move you mentioned. It was a counter attack and I remember wondering how the opposing defenders would be able to catch up with Ryo and Theo  grin grin grin
But proudly, you saw that pass no?
Ryo is a fooballer who has pace while Theo is pacy and is being taught to play football, difference dey o. the only thing Ryo hasn't shown much of so far is his shooting technique but in crossing, dribbling, and decision making, I tell you I've seen enough to show me he will be a better winger than Theo injury permitting.
The unfortunate thing in all these is that he is not likely going to even get the Work Permit just like my man Wellington who I believe to actually be the best of the lot. Just keep an eye on that boy for Levante this season if you can and note what I said.
Like you said, Ryo might not even get much playing time if he earns a WP so a loan might do him a world of good.

In fairness to Theo, he has been injury hit but even back then his figures indicate more of a goalscorer/striker than a winger/MF player. The difference between Theo and Pedro of Barcelona is that one of them effectively blends both, if you need to play keep ball as we do, he can and if you need a swift counter attack with spot on decision making he also can, effortlessly transiting between the two. For the Arsenal team to really reach where they want to be, we need players of that type who combine both but I personally don't think Theo is one of those.

Miyachi? Send him back to Feynoord (I'm biased though cos I'm yet to see how he's better than Theo at that age). If he can get a loan move to championship side, good enough.
Seriously Proudly? you didnt happen to see that Cesc like pass he gave to Theo? that Theo should have passed first time to Chamakh but chose to go for goal himself? He did that in just 15 minutes on the pitch. That boy has got skillz man, he might still need experience but I am almost sure that boy will do what Wilshere did last season and become a starter if he gets the opportunity. All the ingredients are there.
The guy gets lost in games because he's always far out wide. He needs to learn to come in and join the midfield fray when he's not seeing much of the ball.
He does it to keep the width of the pitch, draws the full back out and that boy's delivery is pretty good into the box. He is going to be a full back's nightmare cos there isn't much he can't do. Don't forget this is only his 2nd start for Arsenal and he played only 15 minutes. The one thing Ryo has over Theo is that he can be dangerous from a standing start, Theo needs to be already be on the move.

On another note, is it a biased view of mine or is Wilshere getting even better? The way he was slicing through that Koln MF was impressive and that ball to Gervinho was suave, right now he is deservedly ahead of Ramsey.
What the hell was Song doing getting involved in Ramsey's madness of losing the ball? undecided

Dudu space should be banned completely and anyone who lost interest in their team should be deleted.
Haba, what is happening here?
The late slump that occured in Dudu Flames last season is not enough reason to relegate the club? It was due to financial issues which have since been resolved with the signing of a multi-million bottle endorsement deal with "Ageless" sports drink and the subsequent rebranding of the club.
I hereby suggest that the Manager of Kaiser FC focus on his club, get them properly registered first and stop his voyeurism towards a club with such a proud history. tongue
