I think its very irresponsible to diss the whole of society just cos ur chasing a sell out crowd at ur seminar. I think what you just did, on its own, is one of the major flaws of society; where people will say anything or do anything just to make a buck. Try to point out the flaws of society without seeking to benefit from them, then I'll treat u with some respect. |
I've actually seen worse! Was watching a documentary about trafficking in women, on Al jazeera and a retired Ho took the Al jazeera crew to the school she attended in Edo state. That school has to be the worst in Nigeria. Definitely not this one. |
I support the communist party 100%. Religion, especially a fanatical one like Islam, should be brought under state supervision and control. If you feel a special need to act out of the norm and worship a foreign deity or God, travel to Mecca or Jerusalem and stay there. If you're in china, live and obey chinese law. The Saudi's would never allow a christian or Buddhist to make even the faintest noise about their religion. Same with the jews that practise segregation and apartheid in Israel. The state has every right to control and censor the beliefs of its citizens and make sure they are in conformity with accepted norms. |
dasparrow: @PostArrant nonsense! There is nothing cultural about eating with your hands, its backward. All civilizations worldwide started out eating with their hands until they discovered that it was unhygenic. That's why the Asians started out with the chopsticks and the Europeans, the spoon and cutlery set. Eating with your hands aids the spread of germs and diseases. is it that disease is now a culture in Africa? Why won't Africans join the rest of the world in adapting values and traditions that prevent and not aid the spread of diseases. Disease is not our culture! |
Bibol: HBD to a figure head VP. Don't worry NLders, his administration has got everything under alarm, no need for control!Hilarious! |
antitpiah: Dont believe everything you see. Common people like you are only meant to see a couple of secretly armed police which may not be obvious from the photograph above because of the angle from which the pix was taken. There are no doubts that there are armed MI5 agents, armed plain clothes officers, armed bodyguards and maybe a few James Bonds all nearby and mixed in with the crowd, in the train, and on the ground, stationed at all his stops; they are all trained to notice potential threats and counter them before they become real threats, and they are all trained to blend into the background and not be noticed. Just try grabbing the prime minister and see how far you get. If you look closely enough, the passengers around him were carefully selected and werent too close to him. Again, dont let Oyinbo fool you.Abeg stop being melodramatic. You're talking like someone that does nothing other than watch james bond movies. |
billante: Una go jump fast to go and snap where roads are bad but will turn blind eye and hiss when una pass tru d ones dat has been reconstructed and good! The benin-ore expressway, nobody is talk about that one again because it is getting better! You're a cow! They steal our billions and leave us with useless roads and then just to make it seem like they're working, they award contracts to their friends and construct one 'patch patch' road and then fools like you will come out and clap for them in excitement, like baboons. Sorry for you and the person that brought you into the world. |
Seriously I didn't see any quote from the bishop threatening his sister's life. I think the writer of this story could have devised a more straightforward way of telling us about oyedepo's sister's situation than manufacturing quotes and slandering him. I'm not a fan of Oyedepo's kind of lifestyle but the truth is you can't defeat dishonesty with dishonesty. If you want to be critical about someone's lifestyle choices, you have to assume or possess a higher standard of morality. Its either that or you're just being a hypocrite, like the writer of this article. |
I hate rappers and all but I'll go wit ricki on dis one. That deposit was non-refundable and those shoddy nigerian promoters in the UK are just angry he didn't renegotiate. Nigerians are phoney and shoddy people whether in the UK or Nigeria itself. |
Seems d new NSA has made a deal with someone cos these states are nowhere near safety. Compromising the lives of people in the entire north by making suspicious deals appears to b d strategy of the new NSA. |
Its pure simple common sense. It means MTN is the only telecom coy in nigeria filing the corrects returns with the regulators, the others are submitting doctored returns to rip us all off. So apart from ripping us off with their poor quality service, they're also ripping the government off with taxes |
Ranking tantalizers ahead of Mr Biggs or chivata ahead of Five alive, and who d hell is MUDI anyways. Whoever posted this sure has his head up in some cloud, maybe over south america. Definitely not nigeria |
Na wa o,these our okoro brothers av brought their kidnapping bizness west |
winnie-G:The level of stupidity of some people is just amazing. Here we are languishing because of the effects of this rubbish zoning to the south south thing through which jonathan assumed the presidency and someone is suggesting ww zone to the south east again, even mentioning chris ngige! Who the hell is chris ngige and what the hell has he done to merit being president? Nigerians will never learn from their mistakes. Country of stupid people. People get the leaders they deserve afterall. If you like, ignore the likes of fashola and other competent hands in 2015 and vote for ngige. IDiots! |
ebamma: r i p sani abacha,we always thought u were the nigeria's best looter but now we know that u were just a pickpocket,ROFLMAO! BTW I remember the day he died, spontaneous celebration in my neighbourhood. We actually thought he was the cause of Nigeria's problems. How wrong we were! If I were to compare jonathan's regime to Badluck, I'd say life was paradise with Abacha. Nigeria as it is now is worse than a condemned Molue |
humblebee: im in the aviation industry, private sector though.. and i can say this is the best aviation minister we've ever had. I don't need to give facts but its my observation and im not benefiting one naira from her ministry but the truth should be told.150 people die in an air crash due to the negligence of the parastatals under her ministry and she's the best aviation minister ever? That plane had serious issues for christ sake and it was still allowed to fly! That's even apart from the well publicized corruption allegations against her. Its either you're her press secretary or you're just plain stupid. No respect at all for the people that just died. Shame on you! |
Something tells me the girl is being more than a gf to the guy. Who knows, he cud be paying to have his brains blown out everyday wit s...x. |
Jonathan's fault! If the price of cement was lol, people would'nt be cutting corners and using substandard materials. :d |
smile4kenn: President Jonathan photographed wiping tears from his eyes at the site of the Dana plane crash today. He cried so much today that everyone began to console him. Take heart Mr. Presido. We know you love us all so much.Naaah! That's just a face wipe for the cameras. So uncle reuben will have something good to report about tomorrow- 'caring president, he even cried!' |
ifihearam: Sometyms I wonder in my quiet time what most you here will gain in always talking down on the president. Your ill comments will not in anyway diminish his high level of societal respectability within Nigeria and Africa at large. To make matterz worse there is nobody I repeat no punk arse today that can be better of that GEJ come 2015.This is the most irresponsible, nonsensical and idiotic comment I've seen on nairaland. You have a so called president that is running the country aground with his incompetence and you're here giving excuses for him. As in, for christ sake, people are even saying that this period in our history is comparable or even worse than the period during the civil war. To make matters worse, the guy is stealing money and allowing others to steal. In other climes, we'd have had a referendum or a snap election or passed a vote of no confidence on his sorry ass and booted him out. But no, this is Nigeria! People like this idiot are even saying he's trying his best. Imagine! Complete and utter nonsense! |
edicolove: The plot is getting clearer by the day. This peeps who criticize the president on NL do not care about the country or about good governance. They are just doing propaganda and it doesn't really matter how they achieve it. All is fair in a quest for power and loot. Disgusting!Propaganda? U mean hundreds of people dying everyday through insecurity is propaganda? U mean the criticism that trailed the fuel price increase was propaganda? U mean the massive corruption with our oil blocks is propangada? Nigerians getting frustrated with the absence of electricity is propangada? U mean Nigerians getting frustrated with a president that glaringly lacks confidence is propaganda? I think the only propangada going on here is the one you are executing on behalf of your boss in aso rock. If with all the short comings of this administration, you always find something good to say about your boss, you must be the one on a propangada mission. |
owobokiri: Is it possible for us to be objective for a split second in a place like this? With deu respect to those who lost their lives, how can you compare the STATE SPONSORED massacers under IBB/Abacha/OBJ in such places like Ogoni, Odi, Zaki Biam, Choba, Okigwe, Anambra etc? In these places, blood thirsty commander-in-Chiefs emloyed the coercive instruments of the state to level communities while unleashing deaths in thousands just to prove a point. Here, under GEJ, waths and all, we ar talking of violence initiated by third parties or accidents. How can these men who ORDERED the killing of their people be better than the man who tried but couldnt stop the killing of his people??FYI it was during jonathan's presidency that the military invaded the town of Ayakoromo in the niger delta and committed genocide, against his own people. So when you're mentioning or quoting Nigeria's list of 'presidential killers' don't leave out jonathan. That's even apart from the one going on in the north now. Smh |
Under obj we had plane crashes, hell the sultan even died in one, we had the militants in the delta kidnapping and blowing up pipelines on a daily basis, but still somehow, you could feel things were getting better We had an assertive and domineering leadership, we had a president who put his nose in almost everything and who put square pegs in square holes. Obasanjo spoke about Nigeria with passion. He could discuss anything and any aspect of Nigerian life with the media with passion. The difference with jonathan is he doesn't seem to be in control, his response to important national issues. Has been disappointing, he doesn't look like an intelligent person, doesn't ooze confidence, always looks like the position was foisted on him, and truely so. He has my vote as the worst president in Nigeria's history and I don't blame him. I blame those who voted for a man they knew nothing about. I blame those who instead of voting for competent hands, voted along ethnic lines. I blame those who foisted someone. With 'accidental' and 'lucky' leadership credentials. Finally, I blame those who voted for 'jonathan and not PDP' shame on all of you! |
Dagods: Am driving 2ward oja-oba in abule egba, with sm friends,we r heading 2 d crash site,i really want 2 c things 4 myself the second time, yesterday tears could not let me put myself in other but 2day"i wil try & be a courageous man. I'll gist u guyz live "its day 2 @ d crash area.Pls sit in ur house and monitor events from there. Typical nigerian busy biody. Wonder who send u message. You're part of the people hindering rescue efforts at the scene. Please stay at home! |
Let's just organize mass rallies, shut down this country down, get rid of the current administration, and turn this country into a giant construction site. Nigeria, the way it is, has consumed too many lives already. Its time for mass action, its time for change and its only going to come through us! |
And how many days of mourning for the ones that died in the suicide bombing in bauchi? How many for the ones that died in the communual clash in Nassawara? How many for those killed in the road accident in oyo? How many for those killed in the communual clashes in cross river? This 3 days of mourning is just for the cameras cos the attention of the whole world is now on Nigeria and our 'able' president wants to be seen to be doing something. BTW its june already and bombs are still going off? |
This is the BBC world service. It has just been reported that a passenger plane has crashed in Nigeria's commercial capital, lagos, killing all the passengers on board. More details later Still in Nigeria, more than 15 people were killed in the early hours of sunday morning following an apparent sucide bombing outside a church in the North of the country. Details to follow And yet still in Nigeria, it has just been confirmed that at least 30 people were killed in the northern state of Nassarawa following clashes between rival ethnic gropus. Details to follow. Still in Nigeria, a road accident in the western state of oyo has killed more than 20 people. Details to follow Finally and thankfully moving away from Nigeria now, an axxra bound cargo plane has crashed in the Ghanian capital killing more than 10 people on the ground. The plane was from...guess where? NIGERIA! |
It just had to be from Nigeria. Before I clicked on the thread I was thinking finally, some bad news from somewher other than Nigeria, only to open and see that its actually a Nigerian plane overshooting the runway and crashing in a foreign country..smh |
