ItsMeAboki: What an ungrateful lot.
If not for Gowon, they would have been slaves till today; he brought the policies of No Victor and No Vanquished, and the 3 Rs: Reconciliation, Rehabilitation and Reconstruction, to ensure Igbos were welcomed back into the folds of Nigeria without any recrimination and with equal opportunity - how else could have their leaders Ojukwu and Ikweme subsequently even dreamt of, talkless of vying for the highest office in the country, the presidency; had they otherwise been treated like a vanquished/conquered ppl.
Its ironic how they are still yearning for the same presidency under One Nigeria yet calling for their Biafra; while rejecting Nigeria yet being the biggest beneficiaries of One Nigeria, spreading and settling in almost everywhere, including least places you would expect to find them - don't be surprised now even to find some in Sambisa Forest.
Its unfortunate, there is nothing anyone can do to satisfy them; they are just natural haters, they simply love to hate and so let them be. The above post is a classic junk from a pig-headed gull. |

Nctrice: if Gowon attends that event and anything happens to him (which I doubt) then the Igbos should forget about any dream of them occupying the Aso Rock some day in the nearest future... But if this Move by the vice Chancellors goes down well then the Igbos would have started their journey to Aso Rock... Please do me a favor, shove the Aso Rock. |

Bode George, Obanikoro, etc. I keep telling people, lagos is better and working under tinubu's control than being in the hands of this aforementioned. Jonathan likes division. Wants to use his dollars to divide the yorubas n the rest of Nigerias. Nigeria today is more divided than ever in its history. Jonathan and PDP are certified failures. Thank God people are wiser. Buhari’s camp from Ibadan consisted bunch of turncoats and backstabbers. |

Why did Abacha have to die first?
Why did Abiola die next?
Simple, Abiola wasnt ready to give up his mandate. He was already hopeful of getting power when Abacha died.
Nigeria wouldnt have known peace had Abiola remained alive.
Yorubas gave Abacha hell until he was no more. The Gani Fawehinmis, Femi Falanas, Wole Soyinkas etc etc They made sure he never had it smooth. The detained MKO also ensured he didnt know peace. Maybe you were quite young at the time.
Next time, be careful what you type. Someone like me will treat your fck up anytime anyday.

It takes “clueless unsteady miserable bunch of kleptocrats” to recognize another bunch hence they refused to include Yoruba in the government. |

Politics › Re: I Never Plotted A Coup Throughout My Military Career - Buhari by Duru1(m): 9:44pm On Mar 19, 2015 |
Rilwon: Shagari was overthrown. I was invited to head the government after the coup as the most senior officer. It was not a Buhari coup. I never plotted a coup throughout my military career. I was not a coup plotter. I was invited.
I was in Jos. They sent a jet to me flown by one of General Gowon’s younger brothers. He was a pilot. He told me that those who conducted the coup had invited me for discussion.
I went to Lagos. I was flown to Lagos. Yes. And they said ok, those who were in charge of the coup had said that I would be the head of state. And I was.
Twenty months after, same colleagues who invited me changed their minds. Some claimed part of what they said when they took over power was that I had become “too rigid, too uncompromising and arrogated knowledge of problems and solutions to yourself and my late deputy, Idiagbon.
Well, I think Nigerians had better identify those who did that and interview them so that they can tell what happened. From my own point of view, I was the chairman of the three councils, which, by change of the constitution, were in charge of the country. They were the Supreme Military Council, the Executive Council and the National Council of State. I was the chairman of all.
Maybe when you interview those who were part of the coup, they will tell you my rigidity and whether I worked outside those organs: the Supreme Military Council, the Council of State and the Council of Ministers.

machinegundammy: Former Nigerian President, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo has predicted that Maj. General Muhammadu Buhari will be elected on 28 March as Nigeria’s new president, to succeed incumbent, Goodluck Jonathan. At the same time, he dismissed fears of any election annulment as it happened in 1993, under the Babangida administration, when the election of Moshood Kashimawo Abiola was annulled by the military junta.Obasanjo spoke in Abeokuta, Ogun state today, when he met a group that styles itself, Concerned Citizens of Nigeria.According to the former Nigerian leader, there will never be a repeat of what happened in the country in 1993 after the Presidential election. Obasanjo declared that he has confidence in the All Progressives Congress,APC Presidential candidate, General Muhammed Buhari because he was a trained military officer. The group called on the former President to intervene in the country’s looming political crisis before matters degenerate. “We have come to express our deep concern over series of dangerous political miscalculations currently going on under Jonathan administration. “We are afraid that crisis is seriously looming and it is like another June 12 crisis is on the way and it may be very tragic for the country. We want you to as a matter of urgency intervene into the matter before it is too late sir,” the group opined. In his response, the former President allayed their anxieties, saying that the 2015 election will never be like the June 1993 election. “You need not to worry about anything. There can never be any June 12 annulment again. Buhari is not Abiola, he is a trained and highly intelligent soldier. “Oyegun is not Anenih, Osinbajo is not Kingibe. Jega is not Nwosu, Jonathan is not IBB and this time around, Obasanjo will not support any interim government. “Obasanjo will rather support a free, fair and credible election.”

ttorkaka: http://leadership.ng/news/415386/we-will-overrun-pdp-in-26-states-buhari-campaign-coordinator
Lagos State coordinator of the Buhari-Osinbajo Presidential Campaign Organisation, Hon. James Abiodun Faleke yesterday said All Progressives Congress (APC) has done vigorous political campaign to sweep the polls in 26 states of the federation in the forthcoming presidential election scheduled for March 28.
Speaking at a press conference to herald one million man march in Lagos tagged ‘Marching for Change’, Faleke, a member of the House of Representatives said the party is not in any way jittery over constant campaign visits of President Goodluck Jonathan to the South West region.
He said, “We are not worried about President Jonathan’s visit to Lagos, let him continue to share his dollars, as far as we are concern in South West, it is Buhari at all states. Buhari will win in 26 states across the country.”
Faleke added that Nigerians are ready to vote for change, saying “The present administration has done nothing; they could not deliver on constant power; and we can’t allow them to continue ruling the country like this, its certain that Nigerians will vote out PDP at the poll.”
He said that APC national leader, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, Buhari’s running mate Professor Yemi Osinbajo, Lagos State governor, Babatunde Fashola would lead the million man march for Buhari slated for Saturday March 7.
Faleke explained that the walk will commence from Maryland through Ikorodu road to terminate at the Teslim Balogun Stadium, Surulere.
He added that the walk is to showcase that residents were ready for the general elections.
“It will also give psychological reawakening to the electorates.
“It is also to say that Nigerians reject the return to the dark age of Temporary Voter Cards (TVCs); there is no going back on PVCs as it is the practice in civilized countries,” Faleke said.
He assured that the walk would be guided and would not disrupt commercial and business activities.
Faleke assured that all relevant agencies and security operatives have been adequately mobilized to ensure hitch-free political walk The above nonsensical and goofy statements usually lead to political riots and dissensions when such lofty dreams fail to come through. I know James Abiodun Faleke is inherently loudmouthed but there comes a time when modesty serves right. |

size38: This same message goes to Igbos living in Rivers state and port harcourt in particular. I Hear some of them say Nyesom Wike, the PDP candidate is their choice. They have right to choose their preferred candidate. But they should have these at d back of their minds that if Nyesom wike becomes the governor, non Indigenes doing Business in Rivers state and port hatcourt will suffer it more particulary the Igbos. This is because when Nyesom Wike was d chairman of Obio/Akpor LGA, he introduced all manners of tax and levies, development levies, matching ground, building permit, touts everywhere. Shop owners and commercial car drivers saw hell then. property developers were beaten blue/black in their sites and working tools impounded. But Governor Amaechi came in, he stopped all those mess. He asked developers to arrest whoever that comes to the site to ask for any development levy. Right now, there is plan to introduce property tax by nyesom wike if he wins for d settlement of his foot soldiers. Non indigenes will bear d brunt I swear. because no Ikwerre man will accept to pay that kind of tax. You could be correct with the above post. However the case of Nyesom Wike, Rivers State and APC is likened to a deal of devil and deep sea. The name, Nyesom Wike, apparently indicated a case of an overfed ninny who had tried very hard to change his/her Igbo name. Nyesom Wike is a useless entity and I say thanks to Nigeria/Biafra civil war, Rivers State and Nigeria. |
