PoliticsRe: Nigerian Refineries To Resume Production In July 2015 by dustmalik(m): 7:09pm On Jun 18, 2015
We should be glad that we now have a responsible government in place, not trying to defend those who deliberately caused this country more harm than good.
PoliticsRe: Nigerian Refineries To Resume Production In July 2015 by dustmalik(m): 7:06pm On Jun 18, 2015
Isn't it obvious that these refineries were deliberately sabotaged? Why are all of them, all of a sudden, about to resume production? these are refineries that haven't function for years.

I think we should strive to read through the article. It isn't too long. I carefully ensured that. Even though I anticipate change with PMB, there is no way a travelling president that has prioritised security and who does not have a government team yet can take credit for up to 10% of the completed turnaround maintenance of 4 Nigerian refineries with all the attendant Nigerian issues about them. Since it takes between 3-4 years on the average, I think the Otuoke Team have this.
Rubbish. GEJ's administration deliberately sabotaged those refineries. Here is a quote from Daily Independent publication today:

"The source who added that the establishment
received crude oil consignment last in 2012,
noted that crude oil supply to the refinery was
stalled by the immediate past government.
This, the source added, resulted in massive
importation of refined products by the Federal
Government in preparation for their full
privatisation.
He further disclosed that all the machines for
the take off of production were also last Sunday
switched on in readiness for production works
in the company.
According to the source: “Yes, it is true that the
Warri Refining and Petrochemical Company
limited is set to commence the refining of
petroleum products. The production will start
within the next 14 days from now. All the
production machines were since last Sunday
switched on in readiness for the production.
“I also want to inform you that the
management has received crude oil for that
purpose this week Monday. For over two years
now we have not received crude oil as it was
being sent to foreign refineries from where
they were been imported back to the country
as refined products.
This started soon after the alleged planned
privatization of the refineries by the
immediate past administration which was also
said to have targeted the sales to its selected
cronies thereby placing the workers of the
refining and petrochemical company on
permanent state of redundancy for the past
two years
,” he added
Everywhere all over the world the secret service has the duty of protecting the head of state, except in a military government.
If the president is uncomfortable with the secret service, simply change the top echelon and replace them with people you feel comfortable with, shikena!!
This Damba somebody who has appointed himself security officer should stop taking decisions by himself.

Mr President, Sir, Nigerians would appreciate clear and precise statements made by you in a press briefing, to confirm or refute all these media stories flying freely. We would appreciate it if you make the briefing yourself, because the media claims you don't also trust your press people. Mr. President, please make these briefing as soon as possible to avoid misinformation, thanks.
If you take your time to read through this publication, you would observe that it has no integrity. Most of their assertions are based on other publications by other media outlets. They are simply trying to project a negative impression, and nothing else.

Now, about the BG duties being replaced by military personnel; we don't know the full story. There was also a publication about bugs and some other spy-wares being found within the Aso villa, speculated to have been planted by the DSS officials, hence the reason they are being sidelined for now. So, like I said, we don't know exactly what is going on there. I'd disregard this publication.
PoliticsRe: Anxiety At NNPC Ahead Of Buhari’s Massive Shake-up by dustmalik(m): 5:42am On Jun 18, 2015
google1:
Otti, according to some NNPC sources, took a sick leave; others merely said he had not been seen in office since Buhari was inaugurated as President.

Before the inauguration, there had been arguments on the legality of Otti’s appointment.

Another source said: “There had been unease in NNPC over Otti’s office. The appointment of a Deputy Group Managing Director is unknown to NNPC statute; it is illegal and whatever document or contract the man had signed as a holder of this office is untenable in law.

“The management staff have been having a sort of cold war because it is an aberration to combine the post of Group Executive Director, Finance and Account and the office of Deputy GMD.”
This man is obviously someone's stooge, placed there for all the wrong reasons. Imagine only him holding three offices, one of which is illegal - an office unknown to NNPC statute.

Buhari really needs to probe NNPC thoroughly. This institution is riddled with corruption.

In this country, anything is possible. I suspect that he simply picked two people he doesn't like and lied against them. JonCina:
To everyone ranting about this issue, let me say few things as one who is concerned.

This recruitment started in 2013 with a widely publicized advert for academic & Non-academic Staff. It was to be a massive one based on the advert.

After that, interview was conducted in the 2nd half of 2014 and the offer was given in April 2015. I may not know the remote or immediate cause of his action but coming up to spew trash about a recruitment that has lasted about 2years may not be wise.

I was one of the Academic Staff employed and I had already told my employer I would resign my appointment and was to hand in my resignation letter in May but something just held me back from resigning my current job.

Everything has been sealed: offer has been made, acceptance sent, biometrics done, Identity Cards collected and Salary account opening commenced. I had even met my H. O. D and together with new guys in the department awaiting instructions of what to do.

I think with this background information, a number of us who want to be objective can comment now.
Thanks for sharing, and I wish you all the best. Unfortunately, the TANoids on here are too childish, and don't care about what happens to those that were sacked. Those are 3 hundred people out of job, and from what we hear, there are still more to go. It's saddening, to say the least.

it's so obvious the op of this topic is one of the people that milk this country dry in one way or the other, why should we have a force that isn't patriotic, and engagged in illicit activities, yet we have a gcaf that allow them remain in service while they encourage giving their jobs to touts and criminals, there is never a justification to give out d job of d armed forces to militants or militias under any circumstances.
So the cancellation of d contract is d best, we should build a loyal, sincere and patriotic armed forces. SIMPLE.
lawyer:
Nonsense. This is a sponsored post by an OPC or Niger Delta Militant sympathizer who has benefited immensely from the Billions of Naira given to them by the GEJ administration. Your contract has been revoked and you can do nothing about it. The Nigerian Armed forces will now have to play its role in securing these pipelines properly. Lest you forget OP, the Military is now going to be heavily funded to deal with issues like this and with Buhari's interest in the Petroleum sector its no longer going to be business as usual for individuals who think they can milk the country dry due to their selfish interest.
P:S I am from the Niger Delta and not an APC Supporter but in the best interest of Nigeria, we have to move forward and i support this move by the President to cancel the contracts and secure it well with the armed forces.
Rumpelstiltskin:
In other news, this article was sponsored by militants benefitting from oil pipeline vigilante contracts. Issokay.........that's none of my business.

My business is.........OP, please how can I apply to join either of the pipeline vandals or the militants protecting the pipelines? Where do I send my CV to? Please help! embarassed cry
The OP thinks we are s.tupid. Any sensible person can see through your antics.

If the Senators were truly 8, then I can authoritatively tell you their names. Kwankwanso wasn't among them.

Lemme list them for you:

1. Bukola Saraki himself (Kwara Central).

2. Shaaba Lafiagi (Kwara North).

3. Rafiu Ibrahim (Kwara South).

4. Dino Melaye (Kogi West).

5. Ali Ndume (Borno South).

6. Danjumoh Goje (Gombe Central).

7. Tayo Alasoadura (Ondo Central).

8. Ahmed Rufai Sani Yerima (Zamfara West).
You are right. Kwankwaso was never in Saraki's camp. On the day of Nass leadership elections, if you had noticed, you would have seen that he came late because he went for the supposed meeting the APC leadership called for. Also, he was among the senators who endorsed Lawan the weekend before the elections.

Olumidzti:
Whether we have military or democracy, I fear the results will always be the same. The main problems we have is selfish interests & greed. What happened on Tuesday was a total mess. That was another consolidation of the fact that most of our politicians are unpatriotic. It displayed how apc's house is so scattered contrary to unity of broomsticks displayed by the broom in their logo. Apc had candidates for two posts but party members went against it. Where does that happen? They wanted to curb Tinubu's influence which is a good thing but is that the democratic way? If they wanted to curb his influence, saraki & dogara should have won their party's primary. What Saraki did may be legal but it showed one of the loopholes in democracy. It is very funny how some people are justifying Saraki's action because of Tinubu's overbearing attitude. Tinubu's overbearing attitude is not the biggest issue here, but Saraki's betrayal & its effect on Nigeria's image is. What do you think of a man who dumped pdp for apc because pdp was 'bad' then because of his ambition connived with the 'bad' pdp & sold his 'good' apc out. And that is the man that should be Nigeria's number 3 citizen? What effect does that have on our image? Positive or negative? Do you think that on evidence of recent events someone like Saraki will sacrifice anything for the good of this country? With educated snitches like that at the helm of affairs, the hope for change is a mirage and the biggest loser is the average Nigerian.
