ShobayoEmma: Something is still not right about this tstv ish of a thing. Or why dishing out 5000 decoders for free when millions of people are already ready to buy your decoder for all it cost. I don't if you are sure of the quality of your service, i think you wouldn't need any promotional mix for now. Anyway, my 6k is already in the oven for your decoder o.
The real questions are; Who exactly are they giving the decoders to? What qualifies one for a decoder? These are things they haven't explained yet.
Eggcelent: South East & South South Are Still Parts Of Nigeria. Ain't They? So May We Understand Your Points?
You lack critical thinking. The point is that all those terrestrial cable providers will be tackled by DStv once they decide to expand to a larger market such as Lagos.
Do you think those cable providers don't want to serve a larger market? They know the implications hence restricting themselves.
toluxa1: Have you personally bought.? Can you link me up with the dealer you bought from? And you didn't upload pictures of the decoders. Have you tried the internet? How's it?
The picture probably doesn't belong to the OP. It was taken at TStv's office. Take everything he said with a pinch of salt. Ask yourself why he hasn't shared more.
MabraO: Who has noticed TStv has edited the phone nod of all their dealers on their site?
You are right. I just confirmed it now.
Let's be honest with ourselves, something is amiss, and TStv isn't forthcoming about it all. But once you air an honest opinion on this forum, everyone tags you as a DStv agent.
The coming days will truly be interesting as events keep unfolding.
vivvianne: The original longer length video has been taken down, but I managed to find another version of it, though its not as long as the one I watched. Here it is below, you guys can clearly see the idiot that was shot and his friend shouting 'oya shoot, you no fit shoot' at the sars-fool, and the sars-fool running backwards away from them:
vivvianne: Lets all try and learn more about a situation before we cast judgement. I hate the entire Nigerian police in general not only SARS. But I watched this particular video on YouTube a few weeks back. The idiot that was shot was actually the one chasing after, challenging, and practically 'begging' the SARS guy to shoot him.
I mean, you see hungry-looking SARS policeman wey carry loaded AK-47, you still dey chase am, dey pursue am, dey tell am "shoot now, you no fit shoot, shoot me if you be man, shoot now, oya shoot". You chase the sars mofo comot for filling station where una dey para, the mugu come shoot u for leg, u come here dey shout police brutality. You be bloody idiot! You lucky say no be army, na cobra twisting your portion for be.
Could you share the link to the video?
OP, there is no way SARS would see you and start harassing you for no reason. People always do something wrong, but when SARS reacts, they start screaming abuse.
maitse: I just confirmed from a friend in Abuja that Tstv Decoders are on sale at Sambrix Communication ,Suite C3,Abuja Shopping Mall, Wuse Zone 3. He has installed his and all the channels advertised are working perfectly.Tstv is real!
Could you ask him to send you pics of bein sports being watched on it?
oz4real83: I blame NCC!!! I have always wondered about the rationale behind granting the sole broadcast right of any tv content to one company. This was what killed hitv. Can't NCC make it open to every company thereby eliminating monopoly? Dstv has bought almost every right to all the good stations leaving other companies with nothing. Is it crime if all companies have individual rights to broadcast EPL,Laliga, champions league, other sports and same programmes at the same time? Let them only compete with broadcast quality, service quality, affordability. NCC needs to wake up!!!
Get yourself informed before displaying this level of ignorance. League broadcast rights have nothing to do with NBC, which is the rightful government regulatory body in this case. It's totally up to the English FA to give exclusive broadcast rights to any successful bidder. Right now, Supersuper Sports has exclusive right to air EPL in South Africa and sub-Saharan Africa, which includes Nigeria.
Cable providers such as ABG and CTL/Trendtv are tapping bein Sports from another satellite provider, and MultiChoice hasn't tackled them simply because they aren't a threat yet. That is why CTL/Trendtv has refused to expand to a larger market such as Lagos.
Mynd44 made very logical, intelligent submissions. but, as usual, if you even as much as try to reason with these ipob miscreants, they'd pour all the venom that ever existed on you.
Daboomb: That is the typical Nigerian environment and business climate! DSTV would have preferred TsTV to join them in their monopoly game while exploiting and denying Nigerians access to cheaper televeison viewing.
Govt should have a special agency that monitors and breaks any gang-up/monopoly, in any of our industries or services.
But it appears that the NBC is not happy and is likely going into cahoots with DSTV, to sabotage TsTV.
NBC and its Director General, Nigerians are watching your actions keenly
How is NBC not happy about this development? Did you even watch the launch? The NBC representative commended TStv and promised to do everything possible to make sure TStv succeed. In case you didn't know, TStv has been given 3-year tax free waiver. What else do you want the government to do for them?
It's now left for TStv not to fail and disappoint Nigerians who have been eagerly anticipating its launch.
Ezigbonmadu: You can only have 4G internet services from wireless broadbands. Other wireless protocols are WiMAX, Long Term Evolution (LTE), WiFi, GPRS, 3.5/3.0G. While satellite bands are ku and c bands (and their derivatives). I'm a Communication Engineer. TSTv claiming to provide 4G on a satellite platform is impossible and ridiculous. Except there will be SIM cards on their devices which is what I suspect because he mentioned 2 things:
1. That their decoder is Android. 2. That the device doubles as a router.
Essentially what they will offer is a smart phone in a big box. They will depend on your local GSM coverage and data for their data uplinks while downlinks are handled by their satellite feed.
My conclusion: 1. Their data speed will be terrible. Hence people buying the device just for data will be frustrated. 2. They are just a third party service provider. They don't have their own satellite feeds. They will also resell internet from main one (according to Dr Bright, their CEO). Thus, as resellers, they can't control or guarantee quality.
Well, according to TStv's CEO, the data service will be handled by MainOne cable.
obi58: For some of you who have long memories you would remember that Dstv then had an internet provider in mweb. Today where is mweb? Back in South Africa.
Believe you me nothing will gladden my heart better than to see Tstv succeed but let's face the facts: it's nothing more than a pipe dream.
TStv's data service will be handled by MainOne cable.
