The young woman not only got a unique profession, but managed to break the cultural barrier by acquiring a higher education which is quite unusual for girls from her area.

Really? I think some people need to be educated about Nigeria. The writer doesn't seem to know what he is talking about.
Career › Re: Fidelity Bank Sacks Over 500 Staff by dustydee: 3:37pm On Feb 20, 2015
Our labour laws need to be strengthened so that companies that want to embark on massive sack must go through a process which will last a minimum of 3 months and also prescribe a minimum level of compensation based on the number of years served. These are the things the NLC and the National Assembly should be looking at.

You were a child and didn't mean what you said. As a child I sometimes used to wonder if my parents were my parents when they discipline me but now I know better. As children we have all said something we later regretted. please move on, I am sure it wasn't your "innocent" wish that killed him. He died and may his soul rest in peace.

THIS IS WHAT IS STILL KILLING THIS COUNTRY, AFTER 50YRS OF INDEPENDENCE!

No wonder we are saddled with mediocres, people without a clue, running our country aground, all in the name of "Federal Character"!

If we are actually "ONE NIGERIA", why cant we have the best brains amongst us, running the show, irrespective of where they come from?

We have tried it in football and it worked (at least not so brazenly, at times, the team like the current women team in Germany, is 70-80% Igbo, and who gives a hoot, as long as they deliver?), why cant we try this on other forms of our national life?

The only reason "Private Enterprises" like GTBank, MTN, e.t.c are successful is because they dont give a hoot about your state of origin, they give a hoot about what you have in your head, what the best men out there can bring to their bottom-line, Period!
Why must we keep giving inept people or sore losers whose performance is below par, an undue advantage?

Do we wonder why we are having a failed state on our laps?

BTW: This is nothing against the candidates, l wish you all the best. Be calm and collected.
You may not agree with the Federal Character but that someone from a different state scored less than you doesn't make him/her less competent. As long as the person meets the minimum requirement he is qualified and should be given a fair opportunity.
I am from the North, I don't know how high I ranked compared to my colleagues in the 2007 recruitment. But during our training, The person that was fired for poor performance was from the South and the that was fired (My batch) for forgery was from the South also. When I started working, some of the best Engineers in my department were from the North (they probably wouldn't have gotten in without the Federal character). We have different academic backgrounds but intelligence is what you make of your brains.

Politics › Re: UPDATE: Figures And Percentage Of PVC Collection As At February 13th, 2014 by dustydee: 5:58pm On Feb 17, 2015
ogb5:
Your analysis will not work in the north. On election day the cards collected by proxy in the north will be given to children and other unregistered people to go and vote. You will have massive crowd of ineligible voters at the polling station who will be initially denied accreditation, but with threats to the life of the polling agents, they will allow them to vote skewing the results in favour of the northern candidate.

Unless INEC find a way of removing votes that do not have corresponding valid accreditation.
And the finger print? Where will the proxies get that from? To be successfully accredited, your finger print needs to match that on the reader.
Politics › Re: UPDATE: Figures And Percentage Of PVC Collection As At February 13th, 2014 by dustydee: 1:57pm On Feb 17, 2015
From those figures, I see the polls slightly in favour of the PDP. This is because the high collection rate in the North is due to collection by proxy which will be useless if the cards do not get to the actual owners as INEC intends to use biometric card readers. Those in the South I believe were mostly collected by the actual owners and so even though the rate of collection is lower than in the North, the number of actual voters may be slightly more.
I just hope the politicians educate the electorates on the modalities for voting or else "their eyes go clear" on election day. This new system by INEC, if properly implemented will massively reduce rigging and peoples votes will count.

2. Where his wife claimed she used her money to buy the drugs.

AustineE1:
am surprise that all of a sudden everyone in the opposition is seekng for justice in this case but same people are totally against any form of investigation and subsequent withdrawal of Buhari from presidential race, first for having lied under oath, forgery and failure to present an ordinary sch.cert!..didnt they say that 'what is good for the geese is also good for the gander'.if we must come to equity,we need clean hands!! nigeria i hail thee.
If Buhari lied under oath, then he should be prosecuted. But at the moment, there is no evidence that he did. The Military never denied that his certificates were with the at one time or the other, they said it was not in their practice to keep the certificates then which could imply many things. Did they destroy the certificates after it was given to them? Curiously too, the officer that made the revelation also said he was not aware of the recruitment process then so how did he find out about the certificates not being kept then? Also, which this allegation of government officials using the military to achieve their selfish objectives, how sure are we that they were not ordered to deny Buhari's certificates are with them?
You see, there are many if's and but's so an impartial and thorough investigation is paramount and that is what a serious government would have done.

If only we had a serious government, an enquiry about the Ekiti allegation would have been investigated and culpable parties sanctioned but if "stealing is not corruption", who am I to expect sanctions for anyone found guilty?

If I may ask, who told you he borrowed N27 million? Buhari never said that, it is a deduction of the media. He recently debunked the claim that he borrowed the money (watch the interview he had with ebony life).
In any case, we should find out where the money came from first. Obviously it is not from the Federal Government.
