Just listen to the clown, Shittu: He said: “I will be a bastard to be defrauded out of a primary process and still behave like I am a slave. I think it does not make sense.
“I have been a foundation member of APC and twice I have run the primary for governor.
“In 2011, I aspired. I was defeated by the incumbent. In 2015, I aspired, I was defrauded, and I challenged that primary that gave Governor Ajimobi a second term.
“I went to court, and I was still in court when my appointment as minister was announced.
“That meant I had to abandon that suit, but the governor, instead of thanking his God that I did not continue with that suit, sponsored a campaign to stop my confirmation.” Well, you proved you were a bastard already for a pot of porridge the moment you accepted the post of a Minister in 2015 and abandoned your original suit against your party. Come o...
Why is it that it is mostly Buhari's political associates from the western part of the country who were originally with Buhari in their party - the CPC - who now want to form emperors in the states they currently happen to govern or serve as Ministers from, thereby causing Katakata in their party, the APC? Just why? What kind of coincidence is this?

cucumbae: I suspect say una won rig that election. This one wey lie mohammad dey brag say jubril don already win election wey never start.Make he sign am so that the card reader go fit help the tribunal to find out.The inclusion of card reader in the electoral bill is what the national assembly want the president jubril to sign so that it can be made reference to in the tribunal if buhari rig the election. After the 2015 election and when the politicians who lost at that time challenge the winner and demand that the card reader should be authenticated, the court turned it down by saying that card reader was not constitutional. If buhari jubril believes he will win the election credibly,he should sign the electoral amendment. Listen, during the back-and-forth with the amendments, it was the lawmakers who actually deliberately removed the provision for the compulsory use of the Card Reader in the proposed Bill. It was the President who had to point the omission out to the lawmakers and force them to put it back in. So, what's your point regarding that, actually? Secondly, the accepted convention worldwide, not just in Africa, is that you do not make a substantial change to an electoral law less than six months before a scheduled election. This is so that all planning, preps, budgeting, e.t.c. regarding an election would then be based on the law that will govern an election. How many times would this have to be pointed out to you guys? And as Festus Keyamo just pointed out, a general election was cancelled by the Supreme Court in Kenya recently for a similar reason of an inappropriate timing of their electoral law. However, I agree with President Buhari on this issue. It’s way too late in the game to start changing the rules. It’s not wise to start the electoral process with the 2015 Electoral Act, and conduct the general election using the potential new law.
I wholeheartedly the bill should only be applicable to elections after 2019. I endorse this statement wholeheartedly. ........ P34c3 ..... ... |

Saraki is just shouting on this issue for nothing. If he and his colleagues had honest intentions, they would have gotten the Bill off the ground way before this time.
In any case, the African Charter states that any law that will be used to conduct an election should be in place not later than six months before the election is scheduled to take place.
That's only fair, because all the preps and rules towards the election would then derive from the law. In this present case, most of the rules and preps and equipment provisions and associated budgets have been locked in based on the Law that was used for the 2015 elections, which elections and outcomes were adjudged fair by all sides.
So, why change the rules of a game in the middle of play? That should not be allowed in a proper democratic setting, and I belief that's the spirit behind that aspect of the African Charter on Elections I referred to earlier.
BTW, Mr. Falana (SAN) had supported this African Charter under reference, and had warned about the present lacuna, once it occurred to him the process for the conclusion of the new Bill would not be in place earlier than six months before February 12, 2019, or thereabout.
As things stand, the new Bill will have to wait to be used for elections that will be scheduled to hold not less than six months after it may have become Law.
