And there is no law against carrying above $10k, you only have to declare it. There are no stories that touch any heart abeg! I have carried over that threshold several times without issue.

Plus most dom accounts (£&€) don’t come with cards. So only way of getting your money out is via transfer to a £ account with ridiculous fees or withdrawing from the bank (can’t travel with more than £10k cash in hand I think). It’s best to just use your naira account. Bank charges you less with form A. You can always find someone in the UK looking for naira when you get there. You sell to them & they transfer £ straight to your U.K. account. By then rate will come down to 470 or 500 max.

For clarity, you can get cards for your domicilary accounts and use such cards online or to withdraw outside the country.

You can also carry above $10k or £10k, you only have to declare it once it's over the threshold of $10k.

No one can predictably tell you how the currency market will go and you have to bear the consequences of it rising or falling. I had some FX last year and was thinking of changing to Naira as the rates were good but my spouse argued against it. When I needed the same currency this year, i found out i had saved above N500k by not changing as I thought I should have last year! The rate depends on many factors that no one has any control over.

I know more than 3 working now with AIB bank and what they study is not related to the job offer and the salary are crazy cool.

Student jobs in Scotland are very limited except maybe Edinburgh because of its diversity and tourism. I think the lack of student jobs has to do with racism from Scots as well. They’re not as welcoming as Brits.

Only thing like you said, it’s the affordable living cost. If you are looking a lagos hustle, don’t bother with Aberdeen.

The Scottish people are very warm and welcoming, even more than the Brits! While at Aberdeen University, there were plenty of student jobs on hand. The Scots are not racist(except maybe to those from England).

However, the cost of living is quite high as it is an Oil and Gas town. This is about the aspect that I would consider as a down side for students. I still have fond memories of Aberdeen and it will always be home for me!

The negativity on this thread is absolutely lousy and it would make you believe that as a Student in UK you can not make it but that’s actually not the truth as it being portrayed out here. I noticed those false alarms are proportionally being bLoaned by those that haven’t flown out of Nigeria before. My advise to all prospective candidates is this don’t mind what people are saying about UK here. Make up your mind to achieve the best and surely you will achieve the best. I have been in UK for less than 5 months and UK has been predominantly good to me in all entity. Atleast I don’t struggle to pay my bills and feed myself as a week work can settle all my expenses for one month. I even have a car in UK as an international student despite people portraying having a car as a big deal in UK. Go for the best and the sky will be your limit.

I admire your outlook and positivity. However, this isn't the story for everyone as most people who come to school in the UK do not find it this easy. Studying in the UK is tasking and the more technical your course is, the more difficult it is. Combining it with work only makes is more difficult. Lucky for you, you were able to get a job relating to your field of study which is evidently a bonus.

I have friends who tried the schooling and working thing and it greatly affected their studies. Why spend all that money only to come out with a pass? For many people who have "gloomy" outlooks, it is as a result of what they have gone through and what a majority of people will face.

In all situations though, positivity and determination can get you far and knowing what you might face when you get to the UK and being adequately prepared for it will undoubtedly help people who are making the switch.

My 2 cents is, you are going to commit millions to a course if study, learn to research, get your chin up and most importantly develop a relationship with God for guidance and grace and things will surely work out for you!

Stirling is a very beautiful town. I haven't schooled there but I visited several years back. Scotland is a lovely place to study in. The people are very welcoming but you have to do your research on job availability!

So I contacted the school and they told men they've refunded the money in the same January I applied for it and requested I visit my banking provider.

Lo and behold the useless bank have been sitting on my money for almost two months without informing me or crediting my account. Next thing they were say was that I should write a letter requesting for the fund and even have the gut to tell me that I would not receive all the money because interest will be charged on it.

After using my money for business

I'm sure they know what they are doing in that bank

If anyone can provide a step by step for it, I will be glad.

2. My sponsor is in Germany, He has paid my full tuition and wants to do the Edubond, He is doing this because it is difficult to get 6 months bank statement and translate to English in that country. But he is willing to share his work contract, Employment letter and 3 months pay slip.

I know I will have to provide my Bank Statement as this is compulsory but I wanted to ask if the above documents from my sponsor is enough for financial proof.

I will appreciate your response.

You need to apply online first before applying for the Edubond. You will need to state your application number when applying. If you go to their website, it's a pretty much straightforward application.

You will need all the documents you stated above when applying as well. Ensure all lodgements in and out are well explained

I doubt if that will be adequate. Even if you have funds over there in the form of an education bond, you won't get access to it immediately you get there and it might take you several days if not weeks to have access to it so you need funds to spend in the foreseeable future. However, if you have funds in your card(domicilary) you might be asked to show proof of that.

Not true. You can't deny citizenship to a child born in the US unless you change the constitution and with the country as divided as it is, that is just not possible at the moment

Most likely, you have left a number or alphabet out or added a space at the end. Try again using the correct number without a space and it should work.

No one can decide which course your sister should study. She should have certain preferences based on what she is interested in, what she wants to achieve in line, how much it will cost and what her budget is. Let her Google available courses in universities in Ireland and then she should read it up and decide.

For you, there is no family relocation website. Relocation is not automatic. It's either through schooling or work and it's very difficult to get work directly from here.

Another way to answer your questions is to read the whole thread. By the time you're halfway through, you should have a fair idea about what to do and how to go about it. No one is paid to offer solutions or you go and meet immigration consultants to sort you out. At your own risk as well

Go back to Nigeria and apply for student visa then u go back to Ireland as a student cos u can't change a visiting status while you are in Ireland

Some questions befuddle me. Travel on a tourist Visa then change to a student visa when you get there. You haven't applied for the school admission, you want to change to a student visa. Issokay!

My brother, you have answered your own question. You are not supposed to work more than 20 hours except during specified periods as stated on the Irish immigration website.
