Pls house, Is it possible to bring back a baby to Nigeria and then do d baby's US passport in Nigeria. (A woman did this abt 8yrs ago wen custom stamped just one month stay for her.) Dunno if it's still possible now.
In my case I was stamped in for 3months. So I have jst 3/4weeks to process baby's papers. It takes abt 3wks to get BC alone in Virginia nt to talk of passport

It is possible but if you put effort in you can get the passport in 3 weeks. Once the BC is in, drive to the passport office in Washington, get there early and do express. Explain your circumstances to the officer and your passport should be ready in 2 days. That's what we did although we had booked for our appointment before the BC came out but found out we could have walked in if we'd been there very early

So please do I go with Wakanow or buy ticket by myself? Airfrance or BA? What are they like with pregnant women and women with infants? Flight with one stop for 4hrs or two stops first for 8hrs then 3hrs? Two stops is obviously cheaper but without accommodation? Traveling by myself, worried it will be stressful. Airfrance two stops has Delta Airline in between, any issues envisaged with using another airline to connect.

Interview was in Lagos.

I would advise that you buy directly from the airline. In the event of any change in the itenary you will not be shafted by the agents as they charge an arm and a leg to change dates

Hi @olukemiyemi pls when you had your 1st baby @Virginia, how long did it take to get birth cert, SSN and U.S passport.
I'm currently in Virginia, awaiting baby's arrival. Did a little research and found out expedited birth cert and passport here takes 2-3 weeks min for each. ie 4-6wks after delivery! Any advice?
All Virginia mums pls help! I only planned 3wks stay after delivery

Virginia is a bit slow when it comes to getting the BC. My daughter was born on the 14th and we received the BC on the 30th. But we made a lot of calls and submitted our application early at the hospital. Keep on calling the records office and keep praying!

Well justwise since urs is because of those paying ads here, what then is the importance of this thread if useful info of a budget friendly location and where to go can't be found here for those who aren't agent. We also spend our mb coming here to read and that is money generated to the owners of the platform.

In all honesty I feel pple should be able to share their experiences and drop the price. They can exclude the name of the hospital and Dr. But dropping the state Wont be bad. If one needs to get the name u can then pm the individual privately that way it won't be publicly announced.

Else the thread will be for visa and Poe transcript, not cost and procedures to birth on the USA as the name implies.

Someone might mistake your response for someone who likes to be spoon-fed. When my DW and I had our sojourn last year, we had a lot of research done and made a lot of calls and in the end the correspondence gave us confidence that helped us to get through the episode in peace. At the POE no question that would be asked that we were not confident about answering. Even other things like account opening, renting a car getting about and other things, we were 'veteraned' enough to be able to get research on anything and have it without any stress.

Secondly, with the paid adverts on the page, Just wise has been empowered to clamp down on free adverts. The thread exists because of NL and they have the right to monitor and control as they deem fit. Just my 2 cents though.

This is why we ask for people to read the thread before asking questions. Dr Akere has been blacklisted and a read of the current thread would have confirmed this. Deal with him at your own peril!

Just make sure you have enough money wen travelling and have a Dr n hospital..... So many people here applied and didn't state dey were pregnant intentionally or not...

No one is trying to discourage anyone. The message is, if you'd liked before, there was no need for it and to be truthful going forward. Also pointing out that it may be difficult to renew ones visa but by all means, do try! Your story might be different, just try to be truthful going forward

Please help! For those who used or plan to use innova Fairfax or innova alexandria. Help with a doctor's email or how did you get correspondence. Did they share email correspondence or acceptance letter? Nova group for women have just been posting me asking for me to send a fax of my records before they can accept me and they don't have an email address. For Dr T-chabo have searched for an email address and none. Pls help guys or advise in the right corner. The hospital seems to be one of the closest to Maryland and there's isn't much info on the thread. I don search tire o! Thanks.

A lot of people won't give you emails unless you're committed to them financially. When you pay the hospital, a receipt will be issued which you can use at the POE. However, I won't advice you pay until you have your visa.

Inova has a lot of hospital's not just Fairfax. There are others in Alexandria and a few other places that might be closer to where you'll stay. You would have discovered this if you'd researched on Inova online. Anyone who doesn't have or give their emails, call them and get the information you need. You're going to be spending millions and you need to research well before committing yourself.

I have sent a mail that should help but you need to also do some research yourself.

@maidez, Just write a normal formal letter stating what you want! I don't get all these requests for format for writing letters!

Use a birthing centre at your own peril. If you read the thread thoroughly, you will find out that the use of such facilities is discouraged as you stated/will state that you have enough funds to birth in the US during your interview

All the OBGYN I contacted were asking that I send medical record via fax before I can even correspond with Dr. Some even asked I send it before they give price and then Dr will know whether to accept me or nt. My DW and I used Inova Fairfax which is about 3.5 hours from Norfolk so I don't think I'll be of help. You can start by searching for hospital's in your area of intended stay and then calling them up or searching their websites

However I need your advice on the following.

1. Affordable Hospitals in Maryland (that's where i can be accommodated). Have heard Maryland is expensive but i'm sure someone here would have eventually gotten a good deal. Please help with any link or direct contact to the hospital/doctor. i have googled and filled in contact forms but no revert. i have called but they keep directing me to their insurance company so please i'm crying for help.

2. Is or Was there anyone who planned to stay in Maryland however give birth in another state that's more affordable and not too far from Maryland. When did you leave Maryland for the place and when were you fit to travel back to Maryland after delivery. Also hospital details (especially cost) and contact to Doctor

3. Any other information would be helpful.

Compared to other states, Maryland IS expensive! You can get $5k in some states but need much more in MD. Use the search button and load your phone. You might be the pioneer, MD people are waiting for

I shared it earlier but I think Just wise took it down. I used Dr. J-G Tchabo. He isn't cheap but is very experienced and you'll really enjoy his services. PM me for more info

When the birth certificate came out,did you have to book an appointment at the passport office?

We got the passport from the passport office in DC. We also got the Naija passport also from DC. Got both in 2 days. Call and book an appointment as early as possible although if you can get there before 10 you can do walk in but you can't get the passport same day. Best you can get is after 48 hrs.

From your exertions, your main intention is to go and give birth there which is not illegal. So be upfront about this if you have no intention of going for the 'these'. If you state that your intention is to go for the birthday and then you then want to change to go and give birth, then you open yourself to insecurities in the future either at the POE or when you want to renew.

We believe in stating the truth here, and if your aim is to get someone to encourage you to lie at your interview, well you've come to the wrong forum. Plus, VO's read this thread and you've showed your hand already!

I have to reply here as I can't seem to PM you. Just call the office of vital records in Virginia, Richmond I think! They'll tell you 6-8 weeks but if you call them several times, it'll come in 2 weeks. The 6-8 weeks is just so you don't sue them if it comes in late. When you call, give them your child's details and that's all. Our child's came in the mail after 2 weeks even though they told us 6-8 weeks

Hmm! So what Twoods and co have been giving isn't advice? The truth is this process has and is always being abused and that fact being pointed out to change the mindset of most Nigerians is not out of place! Remember, the child you're going to give birth to will become an Americana, so if not corrected will pile up problems for them in the future. I will say that you should take your own medicine, advise them and stop castigating other people, who are trying to do right!

My own advice is for them to use the visa for the purposes they were gotten for and then proceed for the childbirth after. Otherwise, get ready to face the scrutiny at the renewal! As you lay your bed, so..........

There are several hospital's in MD, it depends on where you'll be staying there. However, MD is expensive to birth and you have to weigh your options well. Read from thread 3 and you'll be fine

Morning Kunle. You would be best served if you put in a little work first. Have you googled hospital's in Indianapolis and called them? Gotten the delivery rates and the doctors attached to the identified hospital's? You can also use the search button above and type in Indianapolis and childbirth etc to see if Indianapolis has been a place of destination for past contributors. Personally I don't think it is common but you never know.

Finally, read from thread 3/4 so that you can have a complete picture of what you need to experience a smooth POE and delivery for you and your wife.

That is how Qatar calculates theirs. I'm not sure about other airlines!

My dear you can start reading from thread 3 or 4. All questions will be answered and all doubts will be cleared. We give this answer because you can't enumerate all the possible questions needed to have a stress free journey. You best alternative is to read and arm yourself!

I think it can only be done at the airport. Try and get there early though as it can be quite a lengthy process.

IAD is okay. Go along with your correspondence and answer truthfully and you'll be okay. Try and book wheelchair to fast track movement if possible. My wife did just that and was able to get quick attention! Best of luck!
