Look at the tracking number on the ups form given to you, enter it on their website and you should know when your passport will be delivered

It is not compulsory to use any Visa if you do not want to. In some cases, it might actually help establish that you're not looking to "run away"

It's not on my acceptance letter for UCD...

If you have paid in full and have an acceptance offer, it should most likely be on it!

Hello, nice work on this thread. I want to ask about the Education Bond for Irish study visa. If I get a bond receipt, would I still need to submit my bank statements and my sponsor's statements?

I have paid school fees in full and want to use the bond for a proof of living expenses.

It is best practice to still submit both your statements and that of your sponsor(s) if any. It is better to have more than enough documents than to have less than and that document turns out to be crucial

There's an app I used from the Google Playstore called PTE TUTORIALS, it was extremely helpful. It contains hundreds of timed mock exam past questions in the exact PTE format as well as their answers. I totally recommend it and it is completely free as well.

E2 PTE ACADEMIC's YouTube channel was also very helpful as well, there are tones of YouTube videos out there claiming to offer pte tutorials most of which are complete rubbish, but these offered such practical advise in their videos as well as tips, tricks and scoring information. All I used was the app I mentioned and the YouTube channel and I was able to get an overall score of 75, with perfect scores in writing and listening.

Would have scored higher notably in Speaking but the PTE center at UKEAS was small and got very loud when we all started the speaking section together, which was very distracting.

Yeah, I know. It can get distracting but upi just have to concentrate on your own. The time.also goes pretty fast so don't take too much time on each question.

Google PTE exam Nairaland and a thread will come up. The last 6-10 pages has several links for materials. Also type in E2Learning with Jay on YouTube. I used his training methods and was able to score 90 with his tips. But you will need a lot of data

You can go online and check the rankings of each school to help you make up your mind. Also factor in living costs yo arrive at a decision. Most schools have great records and the choice of school has minimal effects on getting a job

Hi ..I think you initiate your visa application online...and save.there will be a visa application number for the initiation done...that can be filled out on the bond site and submitted...to move funds...generate the payment slip via transfermate.. and pay via form A from any bank ..hope this helps

Before writing PTE I was a bit scared. However, I practiced and eventually got 2 perfect scores and 2 near perfect scores.

The first thing is to Google PTE test nairaland. Click on the options and download the practice materials on page 0. Attempt 1 round of test first then proceed to YouTube and type in PTE test with Jay. Go through each video and practice over and over again

Once you are done , be calm and subdued during exam and you should be fine

For those who have done the educational bond, will the receipt show only the name of the student or the person that paid the funds in, in addition to the name of the student. Asking because, someone is paying in the funds on my behalf

I did mine with UKEAS on Opebi for #52k. The actual fee is #46k but I think they take 6k as fees. Anyone saying #65k is trying to rip you off

My appreciation to everyone especially the one that started the thread and black orange that responded to my queries. I sat for my PTE recently using the materials here and my results came out very good; reading 90, writing 90, listening 89 and speaking 83.

What did I do? I downloaded the materials and tried the first exercise. I found it scary at first and then I proceeded to learn online via YouTube. The particular series that i learnt and practiced their methods was by E2learning by a facilitator named Jay. You can get there by typing pte exam practice with Jay and it should pop up.

If you follow his steps and then practice with the links above, I'm assured that you should do well.

Hello all, so I arrived Toronto just now, passed border, immigration, collected SIN and waiting for RobertQ bus to take me to London.

And a wonderful Nairalander offered (infact 2 people) to take me from the bus park in London to the hotel provided for me by my school for 2 nights.

I will give full details of everything when I settle in my hotel later today. God bless nairalanders, the show of love is out of this world. Infact someone even offered to drive all the way from London to Toronto to come pick me from the airport to my hotel.

It is imperative that you mention it and thoroughly address it. That's the major reason people are asked to get their GCMS notes; to address/tackle any issues raised therein.

On you changing your course of study, ensure you can tie the new course to your previous study or your current line of work and thereafter ensure your SOP is airtight.

I hope you read page 0 very well! When sending mails to supervisors try not to use the same mail with just a little editing. Write to each person uniquely to avoid such a situation.

You're almost good to go. Package your documents well, write a strong SOP and read up page 0. Use what you've learnt to complete your application and then enter into prayer and fasting.

Good day everyone. Kindly put me through on this. I hope to apply for a Canadian Study Visa (will be attending MUN). I am married and I have 2 kids. My cousin (Canadian citizen) promised to stand in as my sponsor with her bank statement for the visa application. Though we both have an agreement that she won't be sponsoring me. I'd source funds for the 1st semester fees before I leave, after which I'd rely on paying subsequent fees from whatever jobs I'm able to get once I'm issued a work permit.
The challenge I have here is that I really cannot have more than 200k in my savings account, and someone was saying that as a married man, its not possible for me to get a visa while presenting documents that shows a family member is going to sponsor me. He said my marital status makes it difficult bc they'd expect me to sponsor myself.
Can someone help to clarify this?
This is my true situation and I'd like to learn from those who have had similar experiences.

First of all, funding for your studies and upkeep with the limited number of hours you'll be working will be extremely difficult and bordering on impossible for you to keep up with. If you work more than the specified hours it will impact on the course of study and affect you negatively. Without working more, it will be impossible to meet the needs highlighted above. Working more than the allowed hours also gives CIC grounds to cancel your visa thereby making you a fugitive and trust me, they will find out at some point.

Your best bet is to get enough to pay for your studies and some of your upkeep while you hustle the rest. Or get your sister to sponsor you and you repay her once your done and settled.

First and foremost, you quoted your name and I won't be surprised if the VO's don't scrutinise ANY application from you going forward, based on your assertions.

Secondly, any application concerning Canada will involve you having funds. A lot of it or access to a sponsor with funds. With what you've said, I don't think you're prepared for either study or work.

There are several threads on NL that tackle either so read away and get yourself educated and prepared.

Honestly, I can't thank everyone enough for the words of encouragement and support or advice.

I intend to reapply and refire and will work on the specific reason given in the gcms once I get it. @Makano and @jnyuwa, I hope you will find time to go through my SOP and LOE once the time comes but I'll forward the current one for you to peruse in your spare time and comment.

As stated the denial was for purpose of visit but I know that CIC won't determine what direction I need to put my business through and I'm looking at several other options as well.

Sorry for your delays. Why are you spending money unnecessarily? You don't need an immigration lawyer to help you file an application. You have a big study gap I am imagining? Meaning a long time since you last attended school. It is an incessant problem. People who have left school, 5-10 years of study gap, face serious problems with CIC and are often marked down for purpose of visit. So in your next application you might want to work or demonsrating to the VO the seriousness of your intent to be bona-fide student. If you are denied again, I will definitely recommend judicial review if you have the cash for it. Costs bout $3k and it's a two part process of challenging CIC's decision before the federal court in Canada. I will definitely recommend it. Part of why CIC continues to act in ridiculous ways to Nigerians, not processing our application in a timely fashion and denying us eventually in arbitrary and capricious ways, is because they know we do not usually take them to court. Nigerians say they don't have money and yet go on a repeated circle of reapplying to CIC when refused and trusting in for a miracle. While I will tell you of a lever that needs to be pulled also--the lever of judicial review-your miracle might also lie there. Trust me, if they know a lot of people take them to court, they will read applications carefully before they utter one jargon. From some of the decisions I have seen out here, I am of the personal beleif that CIC sometimes doesnt even read people's SOP. Something someone spent a lot of time and effort venting their hearts out only to be ignored. God help these people. Long story short, if anyone is refused, take CIC to court. Yes visa is a privilege and not a right. But there are times when it becomes an abuse of people's privilege and it's appropriate to take them to court. I have seen one person who after repeated denial took them to court and succeded and her visa was issued after 10 minutes interview in Lagos. Just imagine if a lot of Nigerians did this. It would be a movement and the visa officers would think twice and do a thorough and well thought out and reasonable review of files and never take us for-granted again!

Thank you Jnyuwa for the comments. I am seriously thinking of the judicial review. You are right about the study gap. I want to also correct the person above who said the application wasn't well packaged. It was even though I say so myself. Each of the four reasons for denials were totally tackled and explained thoroughly.

Funding was more than enough. I paid my fees and my spouse and I showed deposits that more than covered accommodation and feeding for the duration of the course. We have extensive travel history together and separately and I lived in the UK for a considerable period of time. We have our own property fully paid for and my home ties are my spouse and children who are not going with me. We also have considerable pension amounts which we will not abandon to go and slave away in another country.

The reason I started a trade was because I saw a gap in the industry I'm in that isn't being addressed and the training is comprehensive and will benefit me immensely and this waa well explained in the SOP as well.

If you feel the review will be better then I'll consider it.
