ZeroTolerance: You are a very big idiat, when did I say Nsukka should have priority over Emene? He should remember the rural areas in his roads construction, that is all. I am not asking for dual carriage world class roads, simple passable roads will do, people are suffering. You are the fool here sir. You implied that all the roads in Enugu city are in good shape when someone said that the governor is working on Emene roads. Then you said unless he wants to start demolishing the already good roads, he should not forget Nsukka. That sounds rather clannish. |
Politics › Re: Enugu, The Pride Of The East. by eaglechild: 7:03am On Jun 29, 2015 |
ZeroTolerance: Since majority of the roads in Enugu city are already in good condition, what do you suggest he governor do? Demolish and rebuild them? You are not making sense sir. On what basis do you decide where the roads are mostly needed? Do you realise that more people will gladly remain in the rural areas if they can get basic amenities like good roads there? It is not financially feasible to have the same amenities in the rural areas. In any case if that happens it ceases to be rural and becomes urban. Abakpa, Emene and 9th mile are about the densest parts of Enugu and are in dire need of good road network. There is a reason why Enugu is called the coal city state. Enugu city is the state's major attraction and revenue generator. It must always remain the priority. I am not saying that Nsukka should be neglected but suggesting that it should get priority over Emene which harbours an international airport with a cargo terminal and is the major industrial layout of the state and thus a revenue generator is just plain folly. |

Some people see the name for an independence from Nigeria why other don't. What I won't support is for one idiot to be inciting people to violence. Thank you so much. Many people are totally missing the point. |

discusant: Your usual and trademark short sightedness in demonstration here.. They are using violence to intimidate all of Nigeria to embrace a particular religion, and you are turning the other cheek.
I don't know who Nnamdi Kalu is, hardly listened to radio Biafra, but instincts tell me that Igbos that talk favourably about Biafra keep the rest of Nigeria mindful that there must be a limit to anti-Igbo sentiments, religious ideologies and politics in Nigeria.
Those Igbos that march for Biafra wherever they are, they are the most brilliant, most politically educated, and most thoughtful about Igbo future generations; not people like you who see some urban development in your once village domain, then believe that all is well with Nigeria as presently structured and governed. You have not listened to Radio Biafra and yet you jump on a thread you have NO information about. What has Boko Haram's violent ways got to do with Biafra's actualization. Are you suggesting we copy them? |
Politics › Re: Radio Biafra And Nnamdi Kanu: A Threat to Nigeria's Stability. by eaglechild: 11:37am On Jun 25, 2015 |
MAYOWAAK: Radio Biafra is an avenue for those with a siege mentality to vent, it must not be banned or sabotaged. -
The call for a ban on Radio Biafra is an irritating distraction for the following reasons.
1. Biafra Radio operators are guaranteed free speech and do not operate on Nigerian airwaves, they are free to agitate for the State of Biafra so long as they do it without violence, call to violence or promote violence against persons, or promote ethnic war against others.
2. Agitation for the State of Biafra is not a crime as individuals/groups can advocate for a right to self determination, what would be wrong is for them to dismember themselves from the territory of the Federal Republic of Nigeria without the consent and agreement of the other federating units. Biafra agitators would have to wage a war against the Federal Republic of Nigeria to do that and would have to be prepared for the consequences (Positive or Negative) of such action.
3. Banning Radio Biafra would just be playing into the agenda of the operators who are making a kill financially from those who buy into whatever agenda they promote, a ban will increase the funding and drive sympathy to the platform.
4. Radio Biafra and other voices should be encouraged to speak openly rather than drive agitators underground.
5. MASSOB (Movement for the Actualisation of the Sovereign State of Biafra ) is a good example of how lame the power base of Biafra agitators are, like most other pretentious platforms, Radio Biafra will end up like MASSOB and should be left to be.
6. Best way to counter the narrative of those who operate Radio Biafra is to treat ALL Nigerians equally irrespective of region, religion, tribe, sex or political affiliation, if that is done, platforms such as Radio Biafra would remain an avenue for those with a siege mentality to vent and let the steam out and they must be allowed to let it out in a peaceful way. I love your write up but the whole essence of this thread is that Radio Biafra has continually breached your number one point. They have unapologetically encouraged and called for violent means. I cannot agree with that. |

ollah1: I didn't want to comment initially but i have to input this. This Biafra Radio of a thing is very dangerous and delicate. This was how boko haram started now they are uncontrollable. You guys need to watch hotel Rwanda(Tutsi and Hutu). The movie talks about everything that might happen if this thing continues, when the war started no foreign aid came to their rescue. They only helped their citizens.
War isn't the thing we should be wishing for at the moment. In times of war the gullible and poor are those that suffer. Do you actually think Asari or this kanu et al would be on the battle field? You guys need to ask urself the real questions.
During the civil war, where was ojukwu? Was he in the battle field? Who are the sponsors of this fraud?
I thought he was a leader, he was supposed to lead them to the war with is presence but the coward left the country for the gullible ones to fight and die. The sponsors of this fraud are either abroad or rich enough to fly out with their family when things is about getting ugly.
What this kanu wants is power. Let the war begins, he seats in his apartment in London and tune in to CNN, Al Jazeera, BBC and watch how people are been killed and murdered. When the war ends after a couple of years, he flys down to Nigeria to lift the flag of Biafra claiming to be a boss. Don't be deceived. An average IBO MAN CARES ONLY FOR HIMSELF
I laugh in swahilii. I do not subscribe to Radio Biafra but you have a rather simplistic and biased view of the issue. |

discusant: The author of the article is most unreasonable.
Author is worried that. talk of Biafra could bring political instability to Nigeria. But author couldn't see beyond the nose that Nigeria is one of the most politically unstable countries in the north.
And That a politically unstable country hardly develops. Political instability ws built into Nigeria by those who rigged the country's political structure through proliferation of states in one part of the country, and through the process denied some other areas equitable political representation on all of Nigeria's affairs.. Actually the writer is worried that the psychopath Nnamdi Kanu may succeed in brainwashing some gullible peeps to start a violent movement. He lacks any form of diplomacy and spews raw hatred. That is not what us needed. |

Billygee2u: what can you say about Akiolu and "THE LAGOON "? What Akiolu said can NEVER justify the calls for violence by Nnamdi Kalu. Are you saying it is right to reward such (Akiolu) with violence in a civil society. Nnamdi Kalu is psychopath that should be shut up ASAP. I can NEVER ascribe to such methods, what different is he from Boko Haram when he is calling for violence. Violence does not appeal to me and I am sure it does not appeal to the overwhelming majority of Igbos. That is why I find radio Biafra utterly disgusting. And he should do well to change that name cause he does not represent what Biafra stood for. When was he even born. |

s3nn2x: I listened to the programme and was shocked to my bones. Those people supporting the Senators should have their heads checked.
Is he the only Senator in the country or does he have two heads? The Senator was rude from the onset. The Presenter introduced himself and tried to strike a conversation with him, but the Senator kept telling him to keep quiet and not to call his number again. The Senator should be polite because he doesnt know who is who.
Can any of you compare Senator Effiong and Senator Abaribe? Both of them were called during the programme and both answered different ways. Even, Senator Effiong was kind of insulted by the Presenter but he did no lose his cool.
The only reason Senator Abaribe called back was because someone told him that the Presenter insulted him on air and called him an idiot. He only called because he was doing damage control and nothing else. At the end he did not even say anything.
Most people commenting on this thread do not listen to the programme and do not know what happens. Besides, the presenter did not insult the Senator even when his co-presenters we trying to make him say something against the Senator. You do not put a public officer on a live interview via phone without any prior information. The senator also has his own rights. They should learn from Channels. |

In fact when he picked the call, the first thing the senator said was "Is This Channels TV". When D Presenter Introduced himself as "Ordinary President" or something... The Senator told him not to call his line again. As the presenter kept trying to explain, The senator said "Shut Up" that he's busy... #Lets Not Get It Twisted#..The Senator's position was that he should be called before hand if they want to interview him online or send him an sms because he receives a lot of spam calls daily. "Ordinary President " what kind of introduction is that. He is probably under the delusion that everyone knows him which is very annoying and naive. |
