I don't care about the petty exchanges but Owerri is presently in a neglected state.
Virtually all the roads are failing. World bank axis(new Owerri) is totally a wreck.
All the major roads have a signature pothole.
The traffic lights are for fancy.
Sanitation is subpar. Security is deteriorating.
The state needs an overhaul. |

dulux07: It arguably d green mamba. Cos that is d major green snake common in west africa. It is not the green mamba. Look closely at the scales and you will see that it has no intermediate black under skin that is characteristic of the west African green mamba. Also the West African green mamba is not as lush green as the eastern one but has a yellow green ventral surface. This particular snake is fairly common in grassed areas even in urban centres and they are empirically known to be harmless. We need our own local ophiologist or herpetologist to help in identifying some species which may not have been previously identified. |
Nairaland General › Re: My Grisly Experience In My Room Yesterday by eaglechild: 12:22pm On Jul 04, 2015 |
tetraman: Someone mentioned the green mamba. It seems to be the one.
From Wikipedia : The western green mamba is a very alert, nervous, and extremely agile snake that lives mainly in the coastal tropical rainforest, thicket, and woodland regions of western Africa. Like all the other mambas, the western green mamba is a highly venomous elapid species. Its venom is a highly potent mixture of rapid-acting presynaptic and postsynaptic neurotoxins (dendrotoxins), cardiotoxins and fasciculins. Some consider this species to not be a particularly aggressive snake, but others have suggested that they are extremely nervous and are prone to attack aggressively when cornered. Conflict with humans is low compared to some other species found in the region. Bites to people by this species are quite uncommon. Their mortality rate, however, is high; many of the recorded bites have been fatal. Rapid progression of severe, life-threatening symptoms are hallmarks of mamba bites. Bites with envenomation can be rapidly fatal. Case reports of rapidly fatal outcomes, in as little as 30 minutes, have been recorded for this species. That is definitely not the green mamba. tetraman: Someone mentioned the green mamba. It seems to be the one.

Politics › Re: Enugu, The Pride Of The East. by eaglechild: 6:51am On Jul 03, 2015 |
ZeroTolerance: The population of Enugu city is around 700 000, that is less than 20% of Enugu state's 4 million population, so the earlier you accept that your population theory does not hold watter, the better. Besides, repairing the few remaining bad roads in Enugu does not the govt him from constructing/repairing roads other places. I don't know where you got your population stats from but Enugu state has an estimated population of about 3.26million with a density of 460/sqKm, while Enugu city has an estimated population of 722, 000 with a density of 17, 000/sqKm. What i'm simply trying to make you realise is why your analogy is flawed. Abakpa and Emene are more densely populated hence road construction there will impact more lives than it would in the rural area both in economic and social terms. Of course like I said earlier I believe the government should be able to handle rehabilitation of Obollo Afor roads, but in a situation where they have to choose we all know where the priority lies. |

ZeroTolerance: More of Obollo Afor... As you can see, people actually live in these rural areas, contrary to what some fools say. More people live in Abakpa and Emene. I hope the government deals with all (which it hopefully should be able to) but if not, it is clear where the priority lies and where more impact can be made with less funds. |

Even if a warning of very graphic is added when such pictures are put up, there is a limit to what can be shown in such a forum.
This man has relatives that are still alive and would rather forget this gruesome ordeal.
It think such pictures should not be put up at all.
If one can notice professional TV stations do well to leave out gory details. This is mainly done to protect the grieving families.
Please lalasticlala, Seun etc take down or sensor the picture. |

The Toyota is cheaper to maintain, is more durable(by virtue of our mechanics being more comfortable to work on it),and has a better resale value. |

ZeroTolerance: Are you saying Emene is the only road he can repair in the next for years? What is clannish about what I said? I am not from Nsukka and I spoke for all rural areas in Enugu. You are a confirmed fool sir. He has to start somewhere. I am not against him developing Nsukka but you make it seem as if his road construction in Emene is an overkill. Which is not. Emene is the state's industrial layout and if you are hoping to attract investors that will grow the state's economy, Emene should definitely be in a decent condition. |
Politics › Re: Enugu, The Pride Of The East. by eaglechild: 8:30am On Jun 29, 2015 |
InyinyaAgbaOku: Development of emene, abakpa and 9th mile shouldn't hinder developing the rural areas or their revenue potentials. You ppl make it sound as if all revenue is only possible in the capital . UDI can serve as a tourist heaven if those attractions are turned into commercial tourist sites and a city will sprout from there too. I agree with you. I was replying to a post that implied that the governor's road works in Emene was laying too much emphasis in Enugu city when the governor had already promised he would also give Nsukka a proper make over. |
