@op, I may not really make much sense with my post, so I apologize in advance. But how do you expect someone who slapped you in the past and you did not retaliate, to start calling you aunty in the present/future. I don't know about others, but if I started calling you by your first name from the very beginning it will take more than an order from you or anyone else to make me change that attitude. If the worse were to happen, I will simply stop greeting you. |

abeg make we learn how to call a spade by its real name, instead of describing it as a farming tool. I am Igbo, but if truth be told I will say that our excessive love for money will soon be our collective ruin. How on earth will two biological brothers team up to kidnap their father, all in the name of trying to raise money for their business. Yes evil happen in other parts of the country, but our own don dey turn to another thing. Umunne m' wepu nu aka enwe n' ofe tupu oburu aka mmadu. |
I will like someone to indulge me, my girlfriend has a job as a staff of a Local Council. The job is such that she can be away from work for upward of 2 weeks and no questions asked. But equally they are being owed 4 to 5months salary. What suggestion can you people give about a suitable business she can go into and still cope with her 'job'. The idea of someone sitting at home watching nollywood or visiting friends during working hours makes me cringe. |
”My husband had nothing when I met him, and I was the one taking all the responsibility at home. ”When things started getting better for him, he neglected me
bla bla bla, all the woman's grouse is actually centered on the above sentence. My advice to guys is to try and build themselves, educationally and financially before getting married. When kasala bust in the future, no woman will say the above about you. Then, they can be able to say the what the real problem is. |
I heard on sunday that a family friend of my sister was kidnapped. |
manny4life: He's being sarcastic...I guess some people need to take extra lessons in English/ Literature In English. Sisi-kill, that was sarcasm at its best. Tell them ohhh make them hear. |
@op, in this sentence lies your answer. Reasonable as you call them, know that they are RESPONSIBLE for their actions or inactions. |
u mean am? ....
you got me cracking with that post. The punishment taught me a valuable lesson. |
This topic reminded me of what happened when I was in school. Out of the magnanimty of my heart, I decided to help. After writing the answers on another question paper I threw to the back, but one stupid babe wey no suppose be beneficiary bent down and picked it up. The annoying thing is that the lecturer didn't see me throw the expo, but just percieved that something wasn't right. So she started coming towards us, but then I have finished and was preparing to leave the hall. In front of the lecturer the stupid babe bent down and picked the paper and when they caught her she pointed at me. I was already at the door, leaving. We were both asked to repeat that very 200 level. Imagine because of one paper, a whole year was canceled and I spent an extra year because I decided to help. |
meamanda: Love is not meant for cowards...they just pretend to fall in love..have sex and move on...And such people shamelessly call themselves 'a practical'Thank God some people are getting the point. Love is an action word and not a passive word. When you Love, you will fight any obstacle that tries to stand in the way of your love. Like I said before, Eloping may not be the word. But moving out of prying eyes and people who meddle in your affairs. It is better to Love and fail, than to never have Loved at all. @meamanda, I concur, Love is not for cowards. |
These days we are celebrating divorced cases of once a big society wedding, having the blessings of both parents. If it were true love devoid of interferences.... I doubt divorce will be so rampant. |
Smartie gurl: Some persons here amuse me. . . . . . When you eventually elope and maybe at the end of the day thngs becomes difficult for you two.. . . . . .lol. .i wonder who you wil run to. Your parents that were against your love affair? Your friends? Jst curious. Some people mistake Infatuation for Love. You will only regret your actions if you were infatuated. But if it was true Love (which is very rare) no matter the difficulty, you will never regret any actions you take in defence of that love. Even death or eventual break up with your partner, cannot make you regret actions taken in defence of true love. |
I will rather not use the word ELOPING. I would rather say that sometimes the parties involved need to move away from prying or meddling parents. I once heard of a woman who never got married, because the man of her dreams was opposed by her parents. As a result the relationship has to break up. After the break up the woman left the country. Though she now has a daughter, but she never did get over that heart break. |
sunny t: Doesnt that mean u dnt trust ur parent's judgement? Anyway, if my parents say NO to my union, i will ask them to convince me, we shd sit and share logic. I trust themI believe you have not seen or heard cases of people being opposed based on sentimental reasons. "He is too short ___ short people are normally temperamental". she is from Ijebu ode, those people are normally high sense people. |
sexkillz: There are cases of parents reporting the child's boyfriends to the police even when they have never contmplated eloping. Eloping is not the best option, but moving away from the opposing parents may be a sensible option. |
sexkillz: Did the bible also encourage eloping?Must everything be written in the bible, why did God give each and everyone of us a "common sense" |
sexkillz: Not only is eloping a very bad idea, it also shows that the two people eloping are extremely childish and unreasonable. If parents are against your union, for any reason apart from religious, there is nothing better than respectfully explaining your stand to them and letting them know you have to be with each other. Handling the issue as maturely as possible. There are some parents that are just stubborn. When I say stubborn, I mean it will take almost a death occuring event to change their view point. When you meet such parents, the best you can do is to move away from where they are or where their eyes can reach you. I have heard of cases where brides parents will reject both husband and their grand children. |
sunny t: I’ve also been wondering why people elope when everyone is against their union, but I see it as a sign of not being thoughtful and loving with the heart.( There is diff btw loving with the heart and loving with the head,) I know most young people can do it so let me explain b4 u buried me.I take it that you have never been in Love. If you have ever been in Love you will know that even when you have had a 100 love affairs, you will never feel the same thing you felt for your "one true love". Society just like things to remain normal without ever changing that is why they oppose certains things they tag abnormal. |
jidegirl12: brand new so where precisely .... her story sounds like a neglect abuse and makes me very uncomfortable cos I kinda relate with her story....Jide, the story sounds too familiar to be true. The mum abandoned one and focused on the younger... so the younger will also abandon her elder sister whom she has been suffering with. Now NL a faceless forum is now the lender or helper of last resort? Well I do get a lot of these sob stories in my mail every now and then. |
BPosted on Thursday, January 24th, 2013 at 10:57 AM By Patricia Omolayole On a sunny Saturday afternoon my girl and I were having dessert at our favourite restaurant chit chatting and catching up. All of a sudden Bisi dropped her spoon and says out loud “OMG I forgot to gist you” at the top of her voice. I must say I was really embarrassed because by now people were staring in our direction with the ok so you want to gossip look. Anyway she goes on to tell me how she was cleaning her boyfriends room and found a bank teller with his ex’s name on it. Apparently she was stark raving mad about it. Bisi and Deji have been dating for over 2years now and according to my dear friend their relationship is such that they tell each other EVERYTHING (yes she emphasized!). Her point was how come she didn’t know this? Secondly why is he giving her money? After confronting Deji about it, he said he did not tell her because he didn’t know how she would react and his ex needed the money because she was strapped for cash. Bisi being the no nonsense hot tempered babe she is, decided to punish Deji by keeping malice for as long as she can. At this point I figured that the dessert she brought me out for was to bribe me into giving my own opinion about the situation so she knows what to do next. All my friends know that as much as possible I try to stay out of their relationship drama. However, because of the large bowl of strawberry ice-cream and waffles in front of me I had to say something. First and foremost, I asked Bisi what the relationship between Deji and his ex is like and she said “cordially civil” i.e seasonal greetings, birthdays, hello, hi etc. Knowing the type of friend I have I can assure you that she would make sure it’s just cordial and nothing more. Obviously I gathered that Deji and his ex aren’t exactly besties so Deji should be her last resort for cash abi? I did not want to give her my opinion immediately because frankly speaking I was a bit confused as well. I told her I’ll think about it. While driving home I thought to myself….. ex may have tried other means to no avail or she might want to visit an old “ATM” and is he lending or giving away? So ladies and gents please help me out. Would you be mad if you were in Bisi’s shoes? Is it any business of yours what your partner does with his or her funds? I need answers fast because this chick is on my case and I might have to pay her back for dessert at this rate. Culled From Bella Naija. |
