esonuu: Some peeps kips talking ill about GEJ wenever any story with a caption "EFCC docks so so person 4 so amount of money" cums up here..i'm not a fan of neither gudluck nor buhari but i fink we need to talk like people who gat brain..jonathan was clueless and corrupt yet there was little/no inflation in price(s) of guds under his administration, only very few firms retrenched, buhari is gud, not corrupt and kips recovering stolen money 4rm ppl yet firms kips downsizing, prices of guds kips going up,things kips getn worse & sum peeps here who claims to be learned stil praises him You wouldn't understand. Nigeria is an import dependent country. So need FOREX for virtually everything we use. FOREX is gotten from export which crude oil forms the major chunk. During GEJ'S tenure at an average of 2.2m barrels per day at $100/barrel. Calculate everything that's like N13trillion annually. Subtract the budget of about N5trillion Naira that's N8trillion GEJ was supposed to be saving annually. Now it's like 1.4million barrels per day at $40 a barrel, that's a little over N3.5trillion Naira annually. Barely half of the budget of N6trillion. But they looted, squandered and looted some more. Now that there isn't enough forex we all have to suffer for it. But it should interest you to know that looting and squandering are been tamed successfully by this administration. |

tete7000: Then you no longer practise Islam but Chrislam. As a muslim you said you have an 'updated' version of 'words of God' but yet you won't stop consulting the 'outdated version'. Is the 'updated version' not suppose to have corrected your supposed confusion? Doesn't it sound to youfrom logic that you might really be the confused one here? You claim you have a gold yet you won't leave alone one you think has a brass. Which one is more valuable? Gold or brass? So why don't you just be contented with you gold? It doesnt interest me whether you believe in bible or not and as far as I am concerned I don't see Quran as containing words of God. Can you see we hold divergent view now? - The reason why I told you I am not interested in arguments that lead no where and do no one any good.
Thanks. No am not practicing any "Chrislam" but the true Islam. It's obvious you don't know anything about Islam but that's not the point. Am only required to believe in Jesus and that he was given a scripture called Injeel in other words The Holy Bible. Same with Moses and Torah, Daud (David) Zabur and so on. The bible was corrupted over time by omission and addition which is why the Quran (the update) was sent by the same God. So anywhere the Bible agrees with Quran it's the correct part of the True Injeel, where it contradicts is the corruption I mentioned. Because I have gold doesn't mean bronze is valueless. |

OK, but so you know I do believe in the Holy Bible as well. in fact I can't be a Muslim without believing in it. Understand? Well I think that's what the OP and most of the commentators are trying to do. UNDERSTAND the many confusions in Christianity. Anyway Bye. |

tete7000: Because at that point on the cross he bore humans' sins and since God cannot behold iniquity, he was abandoned under the weight of humans sins. Just as Isaiah 53:5 wrote 'He was wounded for our transgression, he was beaten for our evil''. If you are interested read the entire chapter.
I hope you are not one of those who called themselves atheist and doubt the veracity of the scripture and thus always looking for who to engage in senseless argument? If you are I am not interested in your argument. You can choose to believe whatever you want That doesn't answer the question. and I have read the whole chapter, nowhere it says he was abandoned on the cross by God if anything that same Isaiah 53 10 assured that it was God's will that he suffered. I use a more updated and accurate source of the story of Jesus and God, called the Quran. In it, Jesus was never crucified rather God made someone to look like him and replaced him to the Jews and Jesus ascended to heaven while his replica was crucified which justified his crying "...my lord why hath thou forsaken me?" Oh yeah am a Muslim. |

tete7000: Paul killing wasn't a punishment for his sin. He died a martyr, died for his faith. Christ was the first to die this way and he told everyone who wants to follow him to be willing to pay the same price. So many others who never persecuted the church have died as martyrs, infact it is a belief that of the twelve apostles, only John didn't suffer martyrdom. It is highest point of a christian living. Then why did Jesus shout "my lord my lord why hath thou forsaken me?" |

grossintel: No they don't. What you shouldn't forget is their educational system prepare them practically. All the companies in Nigeria invite expertrates to fix up their machines and maintain them. Nigerians can't handle a single mistake from a nuclear plant. I don't know how else to explain this to you. Technically they are very much ahead of us their is nothing to be ashamed of its the truth. Can't we go and learn it from them? Aren't there Blacks(Nigerians in particular) working in those facilities in those countries? Dangote employed 50 indigenous engineers for his refinery and are now undergoing training in India. They will be the pilots of the refinery when they return. Even South Africa has running nuclear power plants generating about 2000MW for them. Not to mention Iranians, Brazilians and Indians. There is no justification saying we can't operate the plants after been built and taught how to, well except inferiority complex and negative thinking. |

euromilion: Bros thanks for letting us know that u are a chemical engineer, that s a breath of fresh air,but am sorry,I still don't have faith on Nigerian trained professionals,as you can agree with me that many are just half baked, just imagine all the chemical engineers in naija, but they still import fuels, imagine all the doctors, but they still have many medical tourists, many engineers and houses are collapsing left, right and centre.
I know that you are smart enough and/equal to the task,I trust you bro,but am sorry that I don't have faith on your colleagues.
Nigeria is still not ready for such developments yet,pls think of what you and your coleagues can do for us with the winds, water and the sun.those things we have in abundants.
Thanks again.
Still say no to nuclear centre. Lol I get your drift. we have to get used to getting the best hands for every job, that's the only guarantee for a job well done. A childhood friend of mine is among the 50 engineers employed by Dangote refinery currently undergoing training in India. All of them are Nigerians painstakingly chosen to be able to pilot the refinerys operations when completed. So you see its only a matter of determination to do the right thing or get the right people to do the right thing, and am confident we'd get it right. If Nigeria finally gets the financial and political will to start the nuclear plant it is going to be constructed and started by the Russians using 2016 technology. All we have to be doing is sitting in front of computer and monitor/regulate the operations. Do you know that a petrochemical refinery is 100times more complex than a nuclear power plant? We have been running and operating them for decades now. What scared people like you is the severe dangerous repercussions if there were to be an accident. Our failure to develop despite having plenty engineers and other professionals is entire the fault of our leaders who do not care wether a project is executed correctly or not. Let's hope for development for our country, but sometimes we have to take bold steps. Take care. |

pjc: Sadly, at a point when most EU countries like Sweden, Australia, Germany approaches 100% renewable energy supply, Nigeria wants to just start research on Nuclear and resurrect coal mining to the detriment of the future generations. Seems we didn't take home any lesson from Japans nuclear mishap...yet. Japan was a natural disaster, there is nothing one could do about it. All those countries you mentioned aren't major generators of CO2. USA and China alone account for over 60%. So you just direct your preaching to them not us who are trying to generate enough power to survive. Enough of this inferiority complex. If we don't develop the country now (which power is the backbone) how are the future generations gonna enjoy the renewable clean energy. They will be where we are right now in the future. |

euromilion: Do u really undastand what nuclear is?abeg Africa can't handle such thing for now.if u doubt us,then go ask chinorble people what they think of nuclear.
By the way Russia has more land mass than Nigeria,so why can't they do it in their own country? Am a certified chemical engineer, so I know what nuclear is of course. And that accident you are referring to (it's spelt Chernobyl btw) It's an accident just like car, plane, and any other accident which is bound to happen naturally or artificially but can be minimized by putting more precautions and safety measures. There are hundreds of nuclear power plants in the world two in South Africa and have functioning fine. So why can't Nigeria? FYI we already have a nuclear reactor but it's a research model not commercial power generation. |
