IgbereTV reports that the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) has dared the Nigerian Police over the warning that its leader, Nnamdi Kanu should not attempt to return to the country for his mother’s burial. The Abia State Commissioner of Police CP Ene Okon had at the weekend warned that if Kanu returned, he would be arrested as he is still a wanted person. In a statement signed and made available to reporters by its Media and Publicity Secretary, Comrade Emma Powerful, the IPOB reassured its members that nobody can stop Kanu from attending his mother’s funeral. The IPOB said the threat by the police was an empty one that does not hold water. The statement added, “An inconsequential and roundly incompetent local police operative blabbing away from a poorly maintained office in a dilapidated building in Umuahia is not worthy of an intelligent response from the great IPOB. “However, it is important we inform the Fulani masters of this Okon that Biafra is resonating all over the world today, thanks to IPOB. “All the years of threats and brutal crackdowns have all resulted in making IPOB more defiant, determined and ruthless in our pursuit of the noble goal of Biafra liberation.” The group lambasted Abia State governor, Okezie Ikpeazu and Ohanaeze Ndigbo, accusing them of grand conspiracy and mind-numbing treachery, which he said cannot stop IPOB, adding “how much less an unknown Fulani boy-boy in police uniform in Umuahia.” It added, “It seems this caliphate servant in police uniform named CP Okon wants to use the name of our most revered leader Mazi Nnamdi Kanu to be noticed as the slave he is in order to advance his career.” According to the Kanu-led group, other police bosses in Abia before Okon had failed in their bid to stop IPOB. “The same way they sunk into oblivion is exactly the same way this talkertative will be quickly consigned to the scrapheap of used and discarded unthinking caliphate servants from the South.” http://igberetvnews.com/1175191/ipob-reacts-police-warn-nnamdi-kanu-returning-mums-burial/

IgbereTV reports that former Vice President of Nigeria, Atiku Abubakar, has attacked President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration over the increase in borrowing. Atiku said Nigeria under the administration of Buhari, has taken more loans in the last three years than it did in the 30-year period preceding 2016. He described the monumental increase in borrowings vis-à-vis an unprecedented reduction in investments in education as worrisome. Recall that on Thursday, Buhari sought the re-consideration and approval of the National Assembly on the 2016-2018 External Borrowing Plan of the Federal Government. The former Vice President said this while speaking at a ceremony hosted by the American University of Nigeria on Saturday in Yola, the capital of Adamawa. “Two weeks ago, a friend of mine, Prof. Anya O. Anya, revealed that Nigeria has taken more loans in the last three years than she has taken in the 30-year period preceding 2016. “I am a businessman. Perhaps the first lesson one learns in business is that you do not take loans except it is to expand your business. There is no justification for taking out loans to pay salaries; meanwhile, you are not investing in your future generation. “Nigeria’s greatness is not as tied to her elders as it is tied to her youth. That is where our investments should be focussed on,” Atiku added. http://igberetvnews.com/1175060/atiku-attacks-buhari-borrowing-plan/

Governor Darius Ishaku made his position known in a statement signed by his Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Mr. Bala Dan Abu and made available to newsmen. He said, “The article made spurious claims to the effect that Governor Darius Dickson Ishaku was the sponsor of that so-called impeachment plot and that he had committed N200 million Naira public funds to it. “Nothing can be more untrue. It is yet another wicked and malicious attempt to cause confusion and conflict in the relationship between the executive and legislative arms of government in the state on the one hand and governor Ishaku and Peter Diah, his political godson, on the other.” http://igberetvnews.com/1175037/taraba-assembly-speaker-diah-resigns/

IgbereTV reports that the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) yesterday alerted Nigerians on the unscrupulous activities of some business men and traders who revalidate expired rice and also repackaged local rice as foreign variety. The agency warned that expired and caked rice are unwholesome as they contain molds and microorganism that cause diseases which are of immense public health concern. The alert came as a result of a report received from the Department of State Services (DSS) by the Ogun State office of NAFDAC of ongoing food fraud at Oke-Aje market in Ijebu Ode. It said: “On the 14th of November 2019, officers of the State office in company of men of the Nigeria Police Force proceeded to the scene of the illegal activity. On arrival the suspected perpetrators of the food fraud instigated unnamed persons to unleash mayhem on the team of investigators.” The agency therefore urged the general public to be vigilant and exercise discretion when purchasing rice and other food items. http://igberetvnews.com/1169244/nafdac-alerts-expired-rice-circulation/

By Omeiza Ajayi The ruling All Progressives Congress APC has dissociated itself from the “charlatan” who instituted a court case seeking a Constitutional Amendment to allow President Muhammadu Buhari a third term in office, saying it has commenced a process of identifying the said character with a view to expelling him from the party. The party in a statement by its National Publicity Secretary, Mallam Lanre Issa-Onilu on Thursday in Abuja said it read in the media “about a purported legal action taken by a self-proclaimed member of the Party, Charles Enya, seeking an amendment of the constitution to allow President Muhammadu Buhari run for a third term in office”. Also read: INEC’s admission on card reader shows Kogi, Bayelsa polls were rigged – PDP APC said it had initially chosen to ignore him, it that it has become important to send a clear message to him and such other agent provocateurs, adding that the initiator of the suit might have been sponsored by the “misguided opposition”. “The Party is, however, by this statement sending a strong signal to such other busybodies like Charles Enya who may be contemplating testing the resolve of our government on our mission to work for the best for our country to be ready to face the law. “We would follow this new enemy of our country, who is most likely being sponsored by the desperate and misguided opposition, every step of the way, using all legal means to thwart his devilish efforts to create chaos in our country. “As a party, we would not take kindly to anyone or group causing an unnecessary distraction for this administration through anti-democratic actions. As a country, we are several years behind where we ought to be. President Buhari-led administration is focused on the onerous responsibility of delivering good governance. We are focused on revamping our moribund infrastructure, growing the economy, fighting corruption, creating the right environment for our teeming youths to deploy their creative energies, and providing adequate security for all of our people”, APC said. The party added that it has no room for anti-democratic forces and would always abide by the tenets of democracy. “We have tried to find out the status of this character claiming to be a member of our party. If he turns out to be our member, we would ensure the party organ that has the responsibility to act on this matter promptly commence the process of expelling him. We are a progressive party and we do not have space for anti-democratic forces and charlatans. “At the last National Executive Committee NEC meeting of the Party, President Buhari didn’t mince words and he is not the type that talks tongue in cheek. He pointedly said he would abide by the constitution and uphold the oath of office he took, swearing by the holy book he believes in. This is he said was beside his advanced age which made such an idea beyond his contemplation. “The NEC meeting highlights released to the media by the party equally quoted the President admonishing APC members, leaders and elected officials to reposition themselves in their respective constituencies so as to sustain the administration’s landmark legacies beyond 2023 when the President’s constitutionally permitted terms end. “The president said history would not be fair to members of the APC collapses after his second term. What better proof is required of the President’s resolve to abide by the constitution on term limit?”, APC queried. https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.vanguardngr.com/2019/11/breaking-apc-to-expel-charlatan-seeking-3rd-term-for-buhari/amp/

SECURITY IgbereTV brings to you 10 trapping methods used by criminals and how to avoid and escape them 1. Grab trap The elbow is the strongest point on your body. If any assmmailant grabs you, use a very forceful elbow jab to break free and run, preferably in a zigzag manner 2. Wallet trap If a robber asks for your wallet and/or purse, do not hand it to him. Toss it away from you. Chances are that he is more interested in your wallet and/or purse than you, and he will go for the wallet/purse. Run like mad in the other direction 3. Car boot trap If you are ever thrown into the boot of a car, kick out the back tail lights and stick your arm out of the hole (or tear your clothes) and start waving out of the boot like crazy. The driver won't see you, but everybody else will. This has saved lives 4. Shopping list trap Women have a tendency to get into their cars after shopping, eating, working, etc and just sit (doing their checkbook, or making a list, etc). Stop doing this. The predator will be watching you, and this is the perfect opportunity for him to get in on the passenger side, put a gun to your head, and tell you where to go. As soon as you get into your car, lock the doors and leave 5. Hijacking trap If someone sneaks in your car with a gun to your head, do not drive off as he directed. Instead of driving to the destination of the gunman, rev the engine and speed into anything especially a concrete or metallic item like pillar or mast, wrecking the car. Your seat belt will save you while the assailant will get the worst of it. As soon as the car crashes, bail out and run. Your life is more important than any car 6. Parking lot trap Look around you, look into your car, at the passenger side floor, and in the back seat. If you are parked next to a big van, enter your car from the passenger door. Most serial killers attack their victims by pulling them into their vans while the women are attempting to get into their cars. Also, look at the car parked on the driver's side of your vehicle, and the passenger side. If a male is sitting alone in the seat nearest to your car, you may want to walk back into the mall, or work, and get a guard/policeman to walk you back out. It is always better to be safe than sorry (and it is better to be paranoid than dead) 7. Staircase trap Always take the elevator instead of the stairs in high rise buildings unless there is no elevator. Stairwells are horrible places to be alone and the perfect crime spot. This is especially true at night 8. Sympathy trap Stop being sympathetic with your car by offering lift to people you don't know. It may get you raped (note that men now rape men just like they rape women) or killed. Don't offer lift to any man or woman you don't know 9. Crying baby trap If you hear a crying baby on your verandah or gate entrance in the middle of the night, don't come out to check. Android phones are easily used by criminals to create baby voice to lure you out of safety 10. Water tap trap If you wake up in the middle of the night to hear all your taps outside running or what you think is a burst pipe, do not go out to investigate. Criminals turn on all your outside taps full blast so that you will go out to investigate and then attack you Summary Safety starts with you. Keep yourself secure by keeping yourself safe https://www.hsenations.org/2019/07/01/10-trapping-methods-used-by-criminals-and-how-to-avoid-and-escape-them/

The Coordinator of the Presidential Amnesty Programme, Prof. Charles Dokubo, yesterday said President Muhammadu Buhari has kept his promises to the people of Niger Delta towards the enhancement of peace and human capital development in the region. Dokubo, according to a statement by his spokesman, Murphy Ganagana, said this at Okochiri, Okirika Local Government of Rivers State on the sidelines of a ceremony to mark the second coronation anniversary of King Ateke Michael Tom, the Amanyanabo of Okochiri Kingdom, Okirika. Dokubo, who commended Buhari for his conviction on the Amnesty Programme as a vehicle to transform Niger Delta, expressed optimism that beneficiaries of the programme would become change agents not only for Niger Delta, but across the country and globally. “We’ve done a lot of training. I was here recently for the graduation ceremony of our beneficiaries trained in oil and gas. The Niger Delta environment is most populated with oil and gas facilities; what we do is to empower our youths so that our people also will be qualified to compete and have the competitive edge with the basic technology in Niger Delta. “And I strongly believe that because our people feel the positive impact of the Federal Government’s outreach, the promises kept, they are very happy. If we keep to promises, which President Buhari has done, there will be sustainable peace in the Niger Delta”, he said. Dokubo noted that the mandate of the Amnesty Programme is to train and empower enlisted beneficiaries as well as to deepen peace in the region through human capital development. https://www.dailytrust.com.ng/buhari-has-kept-his-promises-to-n-delta-dokubo.html
