jaxxy: As the governor, there where boots on ground already confirmed. Shoots fired and many injured yet the army says they weren’t there
And we shud believe their statements The army didn’t say they weren’t there, so critical thinking; shots stated way before the curfew was to begin at 9pm, check it I’m not lying, who was shooting, the military then came to clear the situation by shooting in the air but by then people were already injured from the unknown gunmen that attacked earlier, this is when switch started the live, she assumed maybe the men shooting were the army and when the army then turned up when the curfew was to start that apparently confirmed her intentions. That video of people shooting looks absolutely suspicious, the video was taken from behind, why would a military person among them release it if they truly killed hundreds, did he want to go to jail or was he their driver? Or was he among the dead people apparently that then came back from life just to take the video.... think, anyway I expect the truth to come out, as for now in a criminal court of law, those videos won’t hold weight without more witnesses, victims and the absence of doubt. Now they’ve started looting and the military can’t do anything if not people would talk, why would the Military have started shooting before 9, |

Have you handled a gun before for you to know that its visual report doesn't look like fireworks?
So because you're a nairalander, you have the epistemic certainty that protesters weren't fired on, abi? Leave matter for Matthias, if there’s solid evidence they should come forward with dead bodies and families of victims for such a solid accusation. Not rumors here and there, they should bring proof and sue the army for damages, abi all the ‘70’ people that died don’t have family or Army wiped out their family too. |

I mean I don’t have an agenda, I can’t be said to be talking from a biased view, I’m also not a Northerner so not like I benefit from the Government in any way, hating this Government doesn’t mean lying just to spread a narrative. You believe a soldier took the video? The video was from behind, so must be among the entourage as the crowd was in front, so a soldier that was among the ‘massacre’ then took the video to expose them. Wonderful, I believe this is political, anyway I advice you guys not to listen to fake news during this period, it’ll all play out. |

This is part of the "Operation Crocodile smile", they copy the Chinese tactic popularly known as "50 cent army" to inundate social media with falsehoods and confuse people.
This is planned, this is the Nigerian government using false information tactics. It’s a lie, I am an active Nairalander and I know it’s fake, what the video and listen to the sound well, it’s off. Also look at the gun shooting in the air, it looks like fireworks. Also who shot the video, was it from behind? Was it a fellow military man? Use your brain |

YerYer: Forreal bro, earnings trade is borderline gambling tbh. It can be exciting however. I also took a stab at Netflix (NFLX); bought the $497.5 put expiring Oct23rd. Netflix is down 5.6% after missing earnings expectations. I chose an OTM strike price, i'm just hoping theta doesn't drastically reduce the premium tomorrow. If the stock keeps falling, I should etch a small profit.
Also, Pinterest (PINS) reports earnings on Oct 28th. A ton of advertisers who boycotted Facebook, spent all their ad budget in snapchat and Pinterest. I might buy a few call options or shares in Pinterest as an earnings trade. You’re very shrewd, how did you know to buy a pit in Netflix. I’ll be selling my snap as soon as market opens, how to get a tidy profit. |

YerYer: Snapchat (SNAP) reported stellar Q3 earnings today - 250 million daily active users up 18% YOY - Quarterly revenue beat estimate - Company posted a surprise profit of $0.01/share
A couple minutes before the market closed, I bought the the $28 call options expiring on October 23rd. This was an earnings play, hit or miss. I felt like snapchat hasn't been involved in all the drama affecting other social media companies. Facebook (FB) has had its spats with the President and now congress is accusing the company of being a monopoly and threatening to break them up. Twitter (TWTR) has also been in the crosshairs of congress, they've been accused of censorship and being an arbiter of truth. Tiktok is in a legal battle to continue operations in the U.S where the president has accused the company of sharing users' info with the Chinese government. Snap has manged to avoid all the drama quietly while growing its user base and attracting advertisers looking for a safer platform to place ads.
SNAP shares rose 24% to $35 afterhours, if it holds or goes higher before market open, these call options will be worth something tomorrow. I plan to sell at market open, as we've seen stocks temporarily sell off post earnings. Whoa, that’s certainly worth a fortune. I took a Gamble but just with a little money |

alphaNomega: If you attended a Nigerian university, I can tell you for free that you have nothing to regret. Learning computer science in these schools would not give you the knowledge and insight required to build world changing applications. The creator of paystack did not acquire his knowledge from his Nigerian teachers. See how you downgrade yourself, they both attended Babcock University from where they created Paystack, the founder of piggy bank schooled in Nigeria. Not achieving anything has nothing to do with schooling in Nigeria or not. |

CSTRR: Yes, a billion dollars is peanuts when you consider that YouTube is worth $300b today.
If the cost of maintaining YouTube was great, he could have gotten outside investment without completely losing ownership. Zukerbag was just a student when he founded Facebook. He did not sell Facebook because of the cost of maintainace even when bill gates made an offer. He was smarter than most grown men.
Yes, the previous owner of YouTube IS a millionaire by all standards. But he could have been a billionaire today without needing to invest in various start ups. Bros I’ll keep tagging you till you stop this useless argument, Elon Musk was among the sellers of PayPal to EBay for $1.5 billion and used the funds to achieve greater investments and Tesla is now more than 9 times worth than EBay that acquired PayPal so dead that talk, those young guys could go on to develop things with the cash in the future that would even surpass Paystack. |

CSTRR: YouTube was sold to google for peanuts and the previous owners regret It till today.
That is typical Nigerian behaviour.
I don't see how not selling off our best tech companies stop Nigerians from getting jobs from abroad.
In fact , if companies like paystack grow to be world Standard, it would do better in marketing Nigerian programming skills. It’s good saying that in Hindsight, what certainty was there that YouTube would have so much acceptability back then in 2006 when it was acquired, it wasn’t even the first and only video sharing platform. It might have been mismanaged or went under due to lack of funds, being acquired also creates the right ecosystem for a company to thrive. |

tensazangetsu20: YouTube was sold to google bros. Besides acquisitions aren't always a bad thing. A lot of companies are acquired by big tech giants daily. It speaks good for Nigerian ecosystems and the talent we have. If this continues, a lot of Nigerian programmers will be able to get remote jobs with companies abroad and also funding for their own ideas which would lead to upward social mobility. Rejoice!!!! The shareholders will smile to the Bank, but that is all. The country is worse off.
When I read that canal+ acquired Rok studios for $100m, I realised that Nigerians are very short-sighted.
Nigerians would have sold apple or YouTube when they were still struggling. Create yours and get offered money to sell it and don’t sell it, see your mouth like Nigerians are short-sighted. Nairaland that was offered money to sell it and refused, see how useless Nairaland is, nairaland that should have been as huge as reddit in Africa and expand through the whole Africa. To place an advert on Nairaland you have to make a bank transfer, what nonsense. |

afroxyz: If the economy fully opens I expect it to drop. Peloton does not have a unique competitive advantage as the service it offers are also offered by competitors. The price of the bike is on the high side. Besides the lack of stimulus checks would affect orders for this quarter. But you are right regards the community because revenue from existing customers increased last quarter. I'm keeping an eye on its earnings call The economy has opened or what do you mean by the economy opening, no vaccine is coming for months and that’ll become more clear as time passes. Anyone with science knowledge knows this and told Trump, vaccines can’t simply be made in months, JnJ and Lilly have recently paused their trials over safety concerns.. we’ll see more doing so over time. An innovative company would innovate with the cash they have, saying peloton would drop because they don’t have a competitive advantage is like saying tesla doesn’t have a competitive advantage, they’re other electric vehicles as there are bikes but it’s not just the bikes, anyone can buy a bike from Walmart but the content/community differs. |
