Forreal bro, earnings trade is borderline gambling tbh. It can be exciting however. I also took a stab at Netflix (NFLX); bought the $497.5 put expiring Oct23rd. Netflix is down 5.6% after missing earnings expectations. I chose an OTM strike price, i'm just hoping theta doesn't drastically reduce the premium tomorrow. If the stock keeps falling, I should etch a small profit.

Also, Pinterest (PINS) reports earnings on Oct 28th. A ton of advertisers who boycotted Facebook, spent all their ad budget in snapchat and Pinterest. I might buy a few call options or shares in Pinterest as an earnings trade.

A couple minutes before the market closed, I bought the the $28 call options expiring on October 23rd. This was an earnings play, hit or miss. I felt like snapchat hasn't been involved in all the drama affecting other social media companies. Facebook (FB) has had its spats with the President and now congress is accusing the company of being a monopoly and threatening to break them up. Twitter (TWTR) has also been in the crosshairs of congress, they've been accused of censorship and being an arbiter of truth. Tiktok is in a legal battle to continue operations in the U.S where the president has accused the company of sharing users' info with the Chinese government. Snap has manged to avoid all the drama quietly while growing its user base and attracting advertisers looking for a safer platform to place ads.

SNAP shares rose 24% to $35 afterhours, if it holds or goes higher before market open, these call options will be worth something tomorrow. I plan to sell at market open, as we've seen stocks temporarily sell off post earnings.

If the cost of maintaining YouTube was great, he could have gotten outside investment without completely losing ownership.
Zukerbag was just a student when he founded Facebook.
He did not sell Facebook because of the cost of maintainace even when bill gates made an offer.
He was smarter than most grown men.

Yes, the previous owner of YouTube IS a millionaire by all standards.
But he could have been a billionaire today without needing to invest in various start ups.

YouTube was sold to google bros. Besides acquisitions aren't always a bad thing. A lot of companies are acquired by big tech giants daily. It speaks good for Nigerian ecosystems and the talent we have. If this continues, a lot of Nigerian programmers will be able to get remote jobs with companies abroad and also funding for their own ideas which would lead to upward social mobility. Rejoice!!!!

If the economy fully opens I expect it to drop. Peloton does not have a unique competitive advantage as the service it offers are also offered by competitors. The price of the bike is on the high side. Besides the lack of stimulus checks would affect orders for this quarter. But you are right regards the community because revenue from existing customers increased last quarter. I'm keeping an eye on its earnings call

Just know that after this quarter, PTON may be dicey. This quarter would be a blow out because orders that were not fulfilled in Q2 were pushed over to Q3. So keep an eye on their earnings call. Besides PTON has many competitors and the price of the bikes are on the high side.
