Now take a look at both attached pictures (daily drivers); Lexus IS is at 159,510 km (almost at 100k miles on the dot), Merc E320 is at 376,527 km (236k miles or so). Lexus still runs on factory recommended oil, Merc runs on 15w50, thinking of changing to 20w50 if oil shortage intervals increase beyond the current threshold.

You should also note that these oil manufacturers have specially formulated oils for even the engines that has seen better days as you said. Those with better protection and besides, manufacturers do have a reason for not saying you should choose cheaper or heavier oils if engine is close to end of its run cycle in the manual.

If an engine is still putting out optimal or close to factory performance, use the recommended oil - short and simple! If your engine has seen better days and nearing the end of its run cycle, it makes no economic sense whatsoever to use expensive oils for lubrication.

Nice info regarding the anti-freeze part - I'm not a cheapskate when it comes to vehicle maintenance, but then again, that depends largely on the vehicle's condition. For example, my Benz shorts a litre of coolant every 800-1000km (a minute leak, i haven't been bothered to trace), a quartz every 2500-3000km. And I move around a lot, infact I average well over 800kms weekly with that car, so I use the cheap coolant for it. Also use 15w50 oil on it, for other cars I go by the book and stick to manufacturer recommendations.

I don suffer this level well. Check that adjuster very well, check it again, in short replace it with the rollers. And try to get an original fan belt while you are it. Contact Aunty Radu for one.

There's nothing to diagnose there again, keep small lite change for radiator and coolant tank (very certain you'll change that also) - With 15k-20k, you can have that vehicle towed to her workshop. Even with traffic won't take up to 90 mins. And be prepared to wait at least 2 days - hope you're aware, other miscellaneous expenses could set in (assuming one or two hoses are gone or even the water pump or thermostat). Also keep money for Mobil 1

First and foremost, I apologise for the inconveniences you've faced. Not making any excuses but you've raised some salient points, I'll try to address. Besides, that Infiniti won't start immediately, if you turn it off. A CPS issue, which I am yet to fix. Couldn't leave the vehicle again because of that. Managing it for the time being.

Secondly, there's no justification for their actions or inactions. But, it's no secret that club managers or supervisors have a monthly target to meet, and the last thing he needs is anyone undermining his authority unnecessarily. You had a verbal agreement, good and fine, but the budget you informed them of initially is different from what you are proposing to spend today.

Finally, no offence but clubs sell tables, a birthday on a Friday night will take up precious space - and the profit margins or price markups for your selected drink outlay isn't commensurate with the space that will be occupied, infact some of those drinks aren't sold in the VIP area.

I'm glad we've spoken and settled this, happy birthday bro. Next time man up and post with your main moniker or this method of seeking redress won't work.
