NairobiWalker:He just said AMHARAic hehe |
. |
PROVERBZ:I don't have the Amharic keyboard, I don't know if this works for you. . . just wait few minute. I will write that down in Amharic for you |
tlann:In short, they want to split and make their own country. I don't want to talk about all they have done to us, they are just unbelievable. . . sometimes I doubt if we had common ancestors.God give them what they deserve. . . I am speechless |
genieluv:Yea, I heard about your election. . . something actually happened during campaign or stuffs like that.. . ?? You think Buhari will make it this year? I don't think he is going to. Who will you vote for and why?? We celebrate the culture day wearing our own traditional cloth. Students won't have class in the afternoon to celebrate it. There are concerts and different festivals. It's fun, I will try to check if I could get pics, It has been years since I have celebrated. Ethiopia issue is very complicated. Abiy may not succeeded in keeping Ethiopia one. The Eritrea-Ethiopia peace deal was a great news. None of my relatives are Eritreans but I have Eritrean friends and neighbors. When we had party in the neighborhood, all the songs were Ethiopian and Eritrean songs. It was nice |
tlann:I do hate the bad ones not all Tigray people. I won't unite with them. Soon our PM will also get rid of them. They had to change but they still don't want to. They are saying prayer for the devil and we are saying prayer to God.They are unbelievable. . .you know nothing about them |
tlann:The so called 'the bad Tigray' people. They are on my black list |
tlann:Okay. . . then. I have now cleared the Oromo issue with Kenya but the other ones on the list stays. |
tlann:What is a 'borana king' doing there?? If someone has to visit a country, that should only be the leader. Tigrayans carrying picture of Sudan flag and now Oromo doing this. I am so lost. . . hati13, help me out here. I am feeling like Ethiopia is 9 and am the Addis Ababan. It's a good thing having the Oromo visit Kenya but I don't like the move. I DON'T LIKE IT AT ALL |
tlann: Oromo king Oromo ain't got a king. When did this visit happen?? Abiy was in Oromo city today. . .if that is what you mean. . . |
tlann:lol. Me have no idea |
tlann:Really? I've never seen Dubai airport. But I know that our airport isn't bad |
genieluv:Yes, too much argument is taking place here now. Am happy for you (your job)!! Ethiopia is doing fine. Today was national culture day and Addis Ababa was the host this year. Abiy Ahmed is our saviour but we can't be sure if we are still safe. . . I think he is famous in Africa now. Almost every African know him How are things over there?? |
genieluv:Where have you been? This place isn't fun as it used to be lol |
@genieluv, how are you doing? Long time. . . |
Hati13:Mazegaja is designed very carefully. All the spaces are interesting. . .check it out then you will understand. Which temama building? Is it the temesgen building which looks like it is falling down? It isn't the first time I am hearing the name but I can't remember the type of building it is |
Theophinio:Ohhh, I have never lived in Bahir Dar. I don't have friends who live there too. I only know that the people are peaceful. I will try to ask anyone who have been there. . . You may have a hard time making freinds there because of language problem. The city is new, I mean it started developing fast recently. So, it could have an advantage for making business there. I have heard someone say that the city isn't comfortable as Addis Ababa when it comes to shopping because they don't have plenty of goods to sell there. Probably, this is going to give you a big opportunity for making business |
Hati13:@NairobiWalker Any time you build a building, the 5 consultants you have mentioned are required. I don't mean to talk about these consultants Here, there are so called 'consultants' who are just there who are educated mainly in civil engineering with very less architecture skills. @Hati13, there are many people who promote themselves posting on different building, promoting themselves as consultant. Keep looking, you will see their post. . . THESE consultants are profitable because the client brought them a picture of a beautiful building then they easily draw the floor plan so he can construct it. Architects don't do that because that isn't the job of the architect. THESE consultants require less money too. Architects won't allow to do this job because they are the creaters of buildings not copying. I have many friends who have quitted making building for this reason. If you want to take pics of buildings in Addis, don't try it. The building owners won't let you because they fear their design will be copied. I have also seen a talk show made by the 5 consultants you have mentioned and they clearly told that it is the bad consultants who are messing the city. And as an Architecture student, it is very very very easy to tell which building is constructed by real Architects and I gotta say that there are few. Hati13, Doesn't many Addis Ababa buildings annoy you? If you have ever passed through Bethelhem plaza in megenagna in the afternoon, the window creates a glare which could make you go blind. Have you seen 'french kiss' building? Starting from the name, it is disgggustting. The building is just crazy. Almost all buildings are just made to make money. They are just flat ugly structures. Only the Churches has impressive looks. I admire Emperor Haile Selassie on this. Almost all the buildings made at his time are just perfect. You can easily tell which buildings were construed at his time. @Hati13, have you seen 'Mazegaja bet' Please check it out. . . then you will see the difference. |
Hati13:Because they require less money and that in Ethiopia, the consultants volunteer to do anything the client brought them. |
Hati13:No I don't. But it is always good to be suspicious. There are million questions unanswered in Ethiopian politics. Don't trust anyone in there. . . |
Kenyanstar:on the second pic- is that a cross on her forehead? It looks like that |
@Theophinio I forgot my gmail password, this is where I can help you. Bahirdar is a beautiful city located in the north. It is one of the peaceful cities located in Ethiopia. The weather is good too. What are you planning for there? Are you thinking of a visit or settlement? |
Hati13:Do you guys celebrate ende? Wendoch tigachewn yizew siyafetu new enji siyakebru ayche alawkim lok |
Lionessza6:Are you smiling when you are writing? I don't know why but I feel like you are smiling the whole time. . . I just don't know why. . . kikikikiki If you do that, you'll be living longer than any one of us here. Bandtrua I think is doing the opposite |
Kenyanstar:B.E.A.U.T.I.F.U.L!! Even the ladies look like habesha. The best part of knowing about culture isn't just about knowing about culture. . . it tells you that all of us descend from the same place. From the pictures you guys shared me, some of your people look and dress like Oromo and Afar people of Ethiopia. Southern Ethiopians have similarities with West Africans. Amharas and Tigray people share many things. The Tutsi people of Rwanda are the Oromo people of Ethiopia. Keep counting. . . The more you know about culture is the more you understand that we are 1! I just don't know why the reverse is happening!! Here is a picture of Ethiopian singer dressing like a Kenyan on Coke studio She is on the right. . . .@kazikazi, that's Nandy from your country. She has amazing voice!
|
Kenyanstar:I like all the buildings but especially the first one. Many mega projects in Africa are now being made by Chinese. . .to be honest, they are good at it. Are these buildings made by Kenyans? What are the building restrictions in Kenya? Nairobi has great buildings as I've seen so far. . .You guys have done a great job considering the urban context. Your buildings tell that they were made by real Architects. Here in Addis, most of the buildings aren't made with the hands of an Architect but rather consultants. Hati13, have you noticed? I think Kenyans has set rules on building construction and they are applying it properly. The same I have noticed with Tanzaina |
The difference of Ashenda and Shadey is very little. It is both celebrated by Northern Ethiopians Here are pics of Ethiopian Artist shopping for Ashenda The third pic- jewels for Ashenda The last pic is Amhara lady celebrating shadey It is one of the biggest tourist attraction in Ethiopia. @TayserMahiri, they play their song and dance. I don't celebrate it and I've never been to places where it is celebrated. Tigrayans take it seriously, it would have been easy if we had had a Tigray here
|
@TayserMahiri here are more Ashenda pictures. . . the pictures I have posted before haven't satisfied me cuz Google pics weren't that cool Ashenda festival is for Tigray Shades is for Amharas. Amharas use no make up but Tigray do on the festival. Here is a dressing for Ashenda
|
Hati13:Poor hailemariam. The best thing he ever did is resigning. Even though he wasn't on power. . . at least he passed the 4 prime ministers to Dr. Abiy kikikiku |
TayserMahiri:I think Addis Ababa is the host this year. I still don't know why only ladies celebrate Ashenda. . . . but it isn't because men don't care. Yes, I really like the lady on the second pic |
Theophinio:Okay, I will try and am edNited |
Theophinio:Okay, I will try |
