The hoodlums numbering over 10 according to eyewitnesses invaded the community and shot the victims who were on duty.

Some of the eyewitnesses said the attack is connected with leadership tussle in the community, while others suspected it to be cult reprisal attack.

Also, a member of the Emergency Social Safety Net, who introduced himself simply as ‘commander Small Baba, confirmed the incident in a viral video.

Normally, Benin things are always extraordinary in literally everything. I stayed in Abuja for years before moving back to Benin and I can say that the cost of living in certain places like Lugbe in Abuja is less expensive, compared to living in Benin where many workers are less paid yet house rent is crazily high (perhaps because of the plenty g-guys in the state), food prices are high compared to a neighbouring state like Ondo, transport fare is another anomaly. There was a time when some folks sold an egg for close to N90 in Benin, when I travelled to Ondo, an egg was still sold for N50.

Take no offence, but sometimes, the hardships of a land are usually caused by the hardness and wickedness of the people that dwell therein. Many, NOT ALL, landlords who wake up and increase rent every year for example and business owners who derive pleasure from increasing prices for the fun of it, are the witches and principalities of Benin.
Let me correct some wrong impression you stated.

The Benin City's people in Europe,Canada and the USA are directly or indirectly responsible for the high cost of living.

On the average,Yahoo folks are not as rich as those in Europe, Canada and USA

House rent is extremely cheap in the outskirts of the city.

Abeg go sit down. No dey mention Benin for where Kaduna dey. You claimed Kaduna people are poor, do you know that, Kaduna has the biggest economy after Lagos, PH, and Kano. Kaduna also produce the larger IGR after Lagos, Ogun and PH.

Mention one major infrastructure in Benin. Mention one thing Benin People have that Kaduna People do not have surplus. Remember, all the Federal ministries and agencies staffs in Benin are majorly from North including Kaduna.

The problem is that, Benin People no dey travel. Only the few that travel abroad. Others don't travel to other states.
Benin People No Dey Travel And Dem Full Europe,Canada and USA?

How can Benin be extension of Europe? If true, why is Benin not developed at all. Benin is not even as developed as Warri. Not to talk of major Cities like Kaduna, Jos, Kano etc
The lack of excellent motorable roads is the only bad side of Benin City!

There is real wealth for those who have business mentality.

Benin City is greater than those cities you listed in terms of disposable income of majority of the inhabitants.

Go and sit down. I know Benin like the back of my hand. I was in Benin last week. Mention one area in Benin and I will tell u a popular land mark in that place. Mention one source of money in Benin apart from Ashawo and Yahoo.

Let me also mention that, Edo is the most underdeveloped state in this Country. Kogi and Abia are far better than Edo. Benin is like Upper Sakponba for where Kaduna dey. If you enter Kaduna, you will never mention Benin when Kaduna is mentioned.

Benin is the only City with poorest roads and zero infrastructure. The GRA in Benin rubbish. A GRA which is always flooded during rain. A GRA that looks like ancient 1920 residential area.
Make una cover una face with shame for that Edo. Una Governor is also the worst in this Country.

The entire Benin does not even have a standard infrastructure. No bridge, no fly over, no presence of Government. But una go dey make mouth upandan. With your ugly and incompetent Governor

Both married women and single for that State na Ashawo them dey do. Remember, last year, Obaseki ban Brothel in Edo, the people of Edo almost eat him raw. Cause Ashawo is their major source of income. Even the few Bini ladies who are based Abroad, na Toto them dey hawk like gala for Europe.

Who even know Edo for this our beautiful Country? 😂😂
You talk like an agbero!

Is like you don't know that money is power.Euro and Dollar runs the economy of Benin City

Let me educate you,do you know a street sweeper and a farm worker in Europe earn more than most university professors in Nigeria.

Prostitution and Internet Fraud are not the main stay of Benin City economy.

The same Benin that you see poverty walking on its head everyday. The Benin where ladies had to do Ashawo work to survive. The same Benin where over 90% of their youths are Yahoo and scammers. The Benin where you see a Father, his wife and 7 of their kids live in one single room.

Before you say anything, I know Benin pass you. I've lived at Limit Road GRA, Ugbekun primary School at Upper, Eweka Road etc
Is like it is not too long you got to Benin City?

Benin City is like a European country to other major Nigerian cities.Artisans from North,West,East and South come to Benin City to make it.

If you depend on only salary to make it in Benin City you're wasting your time;Benin City is a city meant for business people.

Don't let the poor motorable roads make you to underrate Benin City(Igbinedion, Oshiomhole and Obaseki have performed below average in terms of road construction).

Housing like 1 and 2 bedroom flats are insanely cheap in Benin City.

The Ugbekun in Upper Sakponba you mentioned is an old part of the city, just go to the new parts of the cities to see good housing.

Real business men know that Benin City is greater than both Lagos and Abuja!

Majority of Benin City families operate a kind of Europe economy.

Benin City is in a league of its own and there is stependous wealth to be made if you have a business mentality.

Don't forget that I was born and brought up in Benin City.

I left Benin for Kaduna few days ago. I noticed that People still buy pure water for #10. In Benin, pure water is presently 2 for #50.

I also noticed in Kaduna that, only #50 has been added to most of the drops of transportation. For instance, Sabo to Central Market is now #200 as against #150 before subsidy removal. Both Bikes and Keke also increased their transport fair by #50 only.

However, in Benin the price hike is above 200% in most routes. From Ring Road to bypass used to be #300 before subsidy removal. But it has now been increased to between #500 and #1k. From Ekiosa market at 3rd to Aduwawa used to be #150 before subsidy, it is now between #300 to #400. Same applies to all routes in Benin.

All pure water raw materials are the same. I wonder why pure water will be cheaper in Kaduna while the same pure water is 3 times higher in Benin.
Note that, fuel cost more here in Kaduna than Benin. Some fuel stations sell above #700 here. While the same fuel goes for between 580 to 620 in Benin.
Let me school you a little!

Benin City is in Nigeria but it is an extension of Europe .

Funds from diasporan remittances is the life line of Benin City economy.

There is stupendous wealth in Benin City.

CardinalStone is another very good registrar.
I remembered when I wanted to claim my outstanding FCMB dividends.

I was asked to fill, sign and send the e-dividend mandate form through my email to the company's email.

This was how I got my outstanding dividends without any stress or delay.

There was a time I filled the transfer form and e-dividend mandate for the TRANSCORP shares, and I also attached evidence of purchase; and this is like 3 to 4 years ago.

Every time I remind them of non payment of my outstanding dividends, they always tell me to repeat the process I have performed above. This is very ridiculous of Afriprudential registrars.

In addition to Coronation registrars, what are the registrars you don't have to fill e-dividend mandate before you get your dividends?
InvestmentRe: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by EDUECO(m): 10:36am On Jun 05, 2023
thesilentone:
Contacting them long before dividends are paid is still the way to go. Fill their e-mandate forms and then wait.

A few registrars (very few) are quite efficient, some are just utterly useless and should have no business being in business.
You don't need to fill any e-dividend mandate form for Coronation registrars, because I got dividend for Access Bank without filling any e-dividend mandate form.

In the US equity market,it is automatic;you don't have to fill any e-dividend mandate before getting your dividends.

Won't it be sensible for one to offload his fbnh @ current market price and use the proceeds to buy UBA or Access?
One will even get more shares of Access or Uba @ the current market prices.

Access and UBA with better yearly dividends also point to the fact that Access and UBA have better management with intergrity when dealing with the shareholders.

I don't think is about any politician taking over. I want to believe it is all about sustainability. FBN needs to retain more money to shore up their capital base for improvement in CAR. the last time I checked they have the lowest CAR among the first tier banks.
If what one is looking for is a good dividend yield it is my opinion that FBN is not where one can get it for now..
Current management of First Bank has or have the mentality of an average Nigerian politicians(they are known for eating alone);and that's why they have been paying average/poor dividends for like the past 10 years .

Access or UBA is better than FBNH with respect to dividend payment.

Correct.

I call dividend staying power, when you buy a stock with an intrinsic value of N20 for N10. The stock might not get to that value in 2 years, but the dividend earned gives the investor the staying power to hold on and the cash flow to buy more.

Suddenly, like a thief in the night the stock will get to its intrinsic value and even exceed it.

Success in stock market Investment requires patience, regular dividends allow investors to have the patience, financial peace and to also get Investment income while waiting
Baba, this is why I love shares with dividend growth,it gives you dividend and capital growth in abundance!

Money is like water in the river, water in the river flows around!

Increase in the salary of government workers will enable them to continue to spend money on goods and services (like buying food stuff from market women or taking a bus ride when going to work);and this is how it gets to those who are not employed by government.

Subsidy removal is good only if it can be transferred to the government workers inform of increase in salary.

The subsidy money paid to government workers inform of salary increase will eventually get to those in the informal sector(bus drivers, market women, manual labourers etc)through the purchase of goods and services by the government workers.

I don't buy the idea of investing the funds realized from subsidy in infrastructure or agriculture sector;most of the funds would be embezzled.

From the withdrawal from federal government dollar reserve, efficiency in taxation, issuance of bonds(both local and foreign), borrowing from World Bank and China.
