I thought by now the whole world would have recognised Jerusalem as the capital of isreal. It's funny how most people reason, you are stealing someone else's land and you expect the whole world to clap for you, because One is Islam and the other is a Jew.

Wrong is wrong no matter who is involved , I am glad every country kicked against this wicked and oppressive attitude of the Israelite on Palestine territory.

It is called domination, the rest of us are still learning at the hands of the Yoruba on that one.

Thirdly, Economically, SS and SE are inter-dependent on each other and need to work together to attain Economic Efficiency.
You clearly don't want to learn.. am done here, you call the history of the itsekiri people fiction, What nonsense, no respect whatsoever.

Geographically the itsekiri's are also related to Yoruba, We also have itsekiri village in Ondo and also Edo.

Modified : Itsekiri has no link whatsoever with a man from SE, how can IMO be of economic importance to Itsekiri when we have ondo ?
PoliticsRe: Biafra: Referendum Posters Flood Major SE/SS City's(photo) by Efewestern:
hammer6F:
Yoruba cannot have Itsekiri becos Itsekiri and Ijaw are far more closer than Itsekiri and Yoruba, besides Ijaw land runs into Ondo from the western end of Itsekiri land.

Itsekiri belong firmly in the SS as with Urhobo and Ijaw, none of them are Oduduwa, if we want to tell ourselves the truth.
Itsekiri are related to ijaw than Yoruba ... lol.. dude what kind of weed do you smoke.. grin

I will take my time to educate you about the itsekiri's, maybe you know little about them that was why you lots keep lumping them in your Map.

I will start by saying the itsekiri's are unique people , who are related to Yoruba, Urhobo & Edo.

The itsekiri's migrated to their present location from Yoruba communities, notably Ijebu, Ilaje, ikale, and igala . the itsekiri's came into a virgin land, and occupied the riverine areas, Then a bini prince came and unified them ,that was how the itsekiri nation came into existence , note that the itsekiri language is still a major branch of the yoruboid language, and it also retained some lost yoruba words due to it's isolation in the Niger Delta Region.

The ilaje of Ondo state are kith and kin to the itsekiri's, the ilajes can communicate freely with an itsekiri man with little or no difficulty, same can't be said with ilaje and an Ewori man.

The Ijaw vs itsekiri Relationship
Just like other neighboring communities, The itsekiri and ijaws are only connected through marriages, nothing more.

I can see you so much dislike yoruba, but don't infect everybody with it.

I think that some people are twisting this referendum thing into something else. What is at stake here is independence. You think any ethnic nationality is ready to fight for the freedom of another? No.

Referendum is not something that is compusory to vote in same as it is not a must that one must vote in an election. So what is the problem? If Anioma votes by a majority to join their kith snd kin, they leave, the rest of you continue with Delta state in Nigeria. So what is this arguement about? I thought you people would even be happy with referendum as it will finally give you people your own separate state
First of all we are not voting in any referendum, YOU CAN HAVE ANIOMA, you only conduct referendum if both parties are interested in what they are voting for.

Did any itsekiri/Urhobo man tells you he wants Biafra?, Why then you forcing your Biafra referendum on them?

I asked you a question, Yorubas are currently fighting to have the itsekiri's into their fold, so because they share same state with Anioma should they conduct Oduduwa Referendum in anioma land?

And where does Anioma figure in that equation? If you people have no problem letting Anioma go then I see no problem with letting a referendum happen in Delta state. A referenfum must be held in Delta state. We are not leaving one inch of Delta Igbo land behind!
Why are you illogical?

You said you need Anioma, we said you should carry them, we won't stop you, why are you stressing on Referendum, are we holding you guys?, or Anioma land extend enter our land?

So because we share same state we must vote in a silly referendum, dude be reasonable, do you know the Yorubas are fighting to get itsekiri into their fold due to Cultural and Historically ties, So you mean Yoruba will then ask anioma for Referendum just because they share same state with itsekiri?

I might be hasty but I'd love to go with the natural land grabbing strength of the 'Fulanis in the South South'. These lands must have been ceded to them after a long tussle.

Apart from the government not paying attention to them, I doubt their political strength in Bayelsa, which would be a disadvantage. Something similar as this play out in Rivers now whereby a particular tribe (mum) is totally sidelined and regarded as inconsequential. Since 2012 till date, I'd love to believe the Bayelsa state government does not give a hoot about the Anibezes.
Funny enough most ijaws just deny the fact that Other ethnic groups were carved into bayelsa state, reason I keep documenting each and every of our land in that state, for future references.

You already know what's going on in Benin and Aldja

This is a another eye opener. Although this isn't the first time if hearing the name, it is surely the first time if knowing that they belong to the Isoko tribe. I'm really amazed at how one would find a different people in an environment far different from theirs. Questions such as; 'how did they get there?, how have they been able to survive this long (cultural wise)? Among a host of other questions.

They have been complaining about the erosion plague since 2012 and it is strange that nothing has been done up till date.

Beyond the Ofonis, we have the Anibezes now. Impressive discovery. Wve kobiruo, Oniovo.
Exactly, i see no reason why some urhobo and isoko communities should be in Bayelsa, no correlation whatsoever, boundaries should be adjusted and our people transported back to us.

You will be surprise that the Bayelsa state government cares less about the erosion going on in that town.

THE isoko people are people of Niger Delta who are located In Delta state and some part of Bayelsa state, I once created a thread about the Urhobo speaking People of Bayelsa. https://www.nairaland.com/2289624/meet-ofoni-people-bayelsa-only

Isoko land is a key centre of Nigeria's crude oil and natural gas production with a population of about 1.5 million, making the Urhobo / Isoko population to be 5 Million.

The isoko language is a branch of the urhobo language, thou unique in it's way. The isoko people shares similar culture and believe with the Urhobos.

Anibeze is an Isoko speaking community in Constituency III, Sagbama local government area of Bayelsa State. It settles along the Forcados River, on lower Niger River.

Their closest neighbours are Patani in Delta State and Adagbabiri community in the same Sagbama local government, Bayelsa State.

The people’s main occupation is farming, with some fishing too. The community can be accessed through the River or motor bike from the East/West Road.

https://vanguardngr.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/04/road-a.jpg

Plight of the Anibeze People

For the people of this riverside settlement whose very existence like several others in the predominantly riverine state is now hanging in the balance on account of the devastating erosion caused by the tempestuous River Forcados, a tributary of the magnificent River Niger, this certainly is not the best of times.

As the people go through the motions of daily life, the troubled look in many eyes betray layers of unspoken fears and uncertainty. Nobody is sure whose house would be the next to be swallowed in this predominantly farming and fishing settlement by the river.

Sadly, the people no longer have enough land to farm due to the devastating coastal erosion which has eroded about 70 per cent of its landmass. Also fishing which the people could have relied on for survival has suffered tremendous neglect due to the precarious situation in the community where families are constantly relocating due to the erosion menace which has swept away several buildings.

deomelllo:
That's up to your state to decide, Lagos state government is empowered by the people of Lagos state to make and enforce laws in Lagos state, not Delta state.

Lagos state doesn't function or exist based on what the people in Delta state are doing or not doing.
Laws made in Lagos state will somehow affect someone from another state, Especially regarding this Bill .

Let's assume 70% of non yoruba don't have a pass in Yoruba and hence can't seek admission into any of the state uni, they will be forced to go to their state to seek for admission, on getting there they will still end up competing with the students from other states , It actually means that you can't school in my state until you understand my language, but I can school in your state.

Again, LASG did exactly what the FG and the National Policy on Education (NPE) recommended, it is up to Delta state to follow or ignore that recommendation, but stop acting as if you know more than the framers of that policy.
FG encouraged promotion of our local language, but not to use it as a criteria for admission.

That's the individual choices people have to make and if it's so important or necessary for Yoruba students to school in Delta state, well, they have other options because I'm sure they have a Federal University in Dleta state without such requirements.

They also have a FG university in Lagos without such requirements.
Should every state follow this trend, I hope you know the implications.

No, I posted your own comments on different threads and different topics bashing, insulting and denigrating Lagos state and you even did the same thing in this thread even though this thread about Yoruba language Law in Lagos state, you still inserted your hate and disgust for Lagos by letting us know how dirty Lagos is instead of the topic of discussion which highlighted our true intentions and disdain for Lagos state regardless of any Language law or the main topic of discussion.

How hypocritical, absurd and contradictory asking how I translated your comment into hate speech, shouldn't you be asking yourself how you translated the topic, Yoruba Language Law in Lagos state into Lagos is dirty?
I said there are matters that needed urgent attention in Lagos instead of this language law and I used the refuse dump as an example .

What you feel was generalization and ignorance since the whole of Lagos is not a slum and last I checked, they have slums in even the most developed countries around the globe.
if you noticed I didn't limit my criticism to Lagos alone, sometimes I do call warri names, I don't know why you were so concerned about lagos, and the last time I checked a huge part of lagos still looks unattractive, all thanks to our/Your "Good" leaders.
