Sanchez01:unfortunately we only have fayose campaigning from the south, I actually don't like that guy, but I will definitely vote against buhari come 2019 , the guy is a big tribalist . we can't just continue like this.. we have nothing in common the people up north.. I still like Nigeria, but they should let us control our resources. |
Sanchez01:even if we have southern president, will they allow it?, remember hw they frustrated GEJ. the north controls the Senate millitary this people are just so backward, hw can we be repeating same thing over and over again.. parasites they are. |
the minorities are all saying the same thing, resource control , the interest of the minorities are more protected in a well organized and restructured Nigeria. God bless our father's land. cc: ophare Sanchez01 fratermathy onuwaje |
Itsekiri leaders rose from a meeting yesterday urging President Muhammadu Buhari administration to set machineries in motion that would lead to the restructuring of the country. The leaders , who met at the palace of the Olu of Warri, His Majesty , Ogiame Ikenwoli , under the aegis of Itsekiri National Forum , said as a major contributor to the economy and as citizens of the country, they had reflected on the economic , political and social developments in the country and identified corruption , nepotism , insecurity and injustice , among others , as the problems bedeviling the nation . They resolved that Nigeria should remain one indivisible and sovereign state and that the Itsekiri people would not support or harbour any violent agitation or ambition for the split of the country or exclusion of any state or any of the ethnic nationalities presently constituting the Nigeria nation from the Federal Republic of Nigeria . The leaders resolved that the system of government is to remain democratic with the various arms and institutions managed in a cost - effective manner with zero tolerance for corruption , nepotism and undue imbalance in the devolution of powers . To this end, the Itsekiri nation expressed support for the call for a national conference with equal participation of each ethnic nationality and within a legal framework , among other critical issues for national development . The forum said that such national conference should take into reckoning the work that was done at the 2014 national conference . At the end of it all, the conclusions should lead to a referendum so that the outcome shall truly be felt by “ we the people of Nigeria . ” While seeking a government that will ensure fairness and equity for all, irrespective of tribe or religion, the leaders canvassed minority protection and development to ensure that the people of diverse ethnic nationalities in the states continue to coexist in peace , prosperity and progress as citizens of one country united by common interest and destiny. They advocated restructuring of the revenue sharing formula and devolution of powers between the Federal Government and the confederating states or regions to ensure fiscal federalism. “ We therefore advocate that the federating states must retain some measure of independence and autonomy . ” The Itsekiri leaders resolved to partner with other ethnic nationalities, leaders of thoughts , civil society organizations in Nigeria who share the same aspirations and vision for a united and peaceful Nigeria with strong democratic institutions , to contribute constructively to the discuss at all levels to establish the Nigeria envisaged by the founding fathers of the nation. eezeribe:Never in my life have I seen people with so much hate for a country and her people, it's not a must to comment on every thread regarding Nigeria independence . Even if everything seems bleek, Nigeria is still my country and my home. |
how can someone get this in warri? Dstv n greed. |
dabeto:Nigeria can't let any of her territory go without a fight, Spain operates a different system from ours. infact Catalonia is an autonomous community. The iPod went about their agitation in a wrong way, you cant defeat Nigeria with such mentality, first of all get support from other region, igbos can't do it alone, each region should request we go back to a regional government, with that it will be easier to pull out. the Kurdish still practice a semi-autonomous system, reason they had their referendum. Nigeria is designed to discourage any form of secession, why do you think Gowon created more states? the best way to go about any agitation is to first weaken the power at the center, with that each region can chant a new cause. The Spanish government are already feeling the heat, sooner or later Catalonia will be granted independence, that's my wish for them. |
you can't compare Catalonia to the one happening in Nigeria, they didn't go about dragging unrelated group into their agitation, they didn't preach hate against others, they didn't insult others with different views, they didn't tell you "Your views are inconsequential " for dragging you & your people into their agitation. Catalonia got my support, even tho some world powers like US are not in support of the secession I believe they go about their agitation in a reasonable and peaceful way. their leaders fought for the interest of their people, not touts who can't argue intellectually. One thing to note is that, Spain practice a system of government different from ours (FEDERATION) So it was easier for them to pull out, reason we should first fight to get a regional government before thinking of secession. I hope we go back to the way we were before, I hope Nigeria learns from this Spain saga, and I hope those secessionist group in Nigeria learn that you can't achieve anything by chest beating and insulting others . |
Akposy:Oniovo you have spoken well. God bless the Federal republic of Nigeria God bless us all |
Sanchez01:@ bolded what do you expect from brainwashed people who believes In lies instead of reality. can you give me two reason why Catalonia want a separate state, they control their resources, they have regional government. |
supersystemsnig:Trump is in support Spain, Catalonia referendum might not be implemented, that's what I could summarize.. you can watch the interview on ajazeera website.. |
