We understand fully. We need change but we have to change for the better and not for the worse. Buhari has been there before and all he could do was to intimidate innocent citizens with his koboko. The message is that we should not be deceived by the empty promises of expired rulers who have no clear plan for the nation. We need to get it right. We cannot recycle something out of nothing. We need to move forward not backwards. Hope can only be found in the future and not in the past.

But you have made NO POINT  . . . . you are still doing the same old  . .  picking around  for substance. Again, where the evidence you have to show that power was an economic issue, as you claim, in the early 80's? All you have done is show that there were power projects running through the period but none of that supports your claim even to this point.

By the way . . . IBB did not do build those plants . . . the plans were already in place from the late 70's . . . all the government needed was to adequately fund the constructions. I mean think . .  none of these dams were built in 2 minutes . .  we are talking years of construction here. At least about 3 for each . . . use your head a bit more in this. Anyways, Jebba was online by 1984 -- shiroro was completed in the late 80's and came online 1989 – 1990.

Pro or Pre GEJ is not the issue here. The challenge was simple: PROVE THAT POWER WAS AN ISSUE IN THE 80's. The response was simple and clear. 100% PROVEN THAT IT WAS!

We have even gone a step further to show that IBB was even more serious than that joker. IBB did not need up to a year before he commissioned Jebba. Check the facts.

Electricity issue was still on the back burner during the early 80s in Nigeria. . .  Y[b]es, the government was working on building and getting plants online BUT the power issue was NOT, I REPEAT, was NOT a pressing issue in the early 80s.[/b]  There were no blackouts as you now have today  and there are so many reasons for that  . . . . lower consumption rates back then, and better investments in the start into NEPA than later on and into the 90's.   

In 1982/83 there was a global recession. The Economy and corruption that were viewed as hindering factors to growth. The papers was filled with stories of the economic woes and blunders of the Shagari regime, and appointments were ridiculed. Power supply rarely made the papers. I remember when Jebba, and then Egbin went online in 1983, Ikorodu was treated like the latest town on the map because of Egbin. There were celebrations for a couple of days and the papers went back to attacking the politicians.

If anyone, I say again, anyone has information to show that it was as big an issue as it is today,all you really have to do is show it  . . . . no need to continue to insult yourselves thinking you insult another for stating what was back in the 80s. I lived those years myself --- I had a home in a rural zone and in the city.

The point there is that blackouts were frequent and had catastrophic effects on the economy. It was a huge issue as far back as the 80's. No need to move the goalpost!
