tommy t,

Is it just me? But I don't think that joke is very very appropriate for a thread like this.

Maybe if they are stock/business related jokes, it would sound better(loma would do it that way)

smiley

Once again, it may be just me but the joke just sounds one kind for this thread.

No hard feelings bro

urfriend, the fact that it was in the paper is besides the point.

The point being that its not the first time you said that new channels , upgrades, etc, are coming to Hitv.

Its four months now since you said zee and the rest of the channels are being added.

@urfriend

You said the exact things last year and you gave a time frame of December ending.

This is April. So how are we supposed to believe this?

If it happened during a break up, why did you allow the break up in the first place.

Have you forgotten that she had a 9 month nrelationship with this other guy? You are refusing to understand that there was bonding. he learnt her a shoulder to cry on when you abandoned her.
There is feeling.

I know of a girl who was sleeping with a priest and she repented. Was undergoing deliverance.
She tried to stay away from the priest but some how the priest came back and talked her into sex again. She cried her heart out and that was the end of it.

It happens. It takes a lot of strength to break from an old flame especially when you did not separate because of quarrel.

The fact is that it wasn't during the break-up

You talk of 'old flame', So which of the guys now is the Old flame?

She had a 9month relationship with the new guy? Then she should make up her mind on who to stay with.

why sleep with two people at the same period?

Are you all actually praising this girl for doing wrong? i mean i know no one is perfect but for God sakes, if you were in her fiancee's shoes would you be praising her for comming forward with the confession when it shouldn't have happened to begin with."

The above statement is the only truthfull statement so far. The guy did not leave her because she had a relationship with another guy in school. He left because she SLEPT WITH THIS GUY EVEN AFTER THEY WERE BACK TOGETHER. I can not blame the guy that much because most guys rarely forget such things in a relationship.

I can forgive anyhting but I still can't picture staying with a woman that I know while I am with her, she slept with another man. If it happened during a break-up, yes I understand, but otherwise no
Thanks jare!

On the face of this post I would say agree that he was rather harsh on walking out after your confession but something tells me there's a missing fact: Are you sure you and this guy were not together during those time you were sleeping with the school boy? - that will be the only reason he;s so hurt

If your answer is sincerly 'NO" then i suggest u move on- You 2 are never meant to be
A lot of the people here don't understand the issue here.

The guy didnt just walk away because of her past. Everyone has a past and anyone who doesnt have a past is probably some kind of phantom.

The real issue why the guy walked ,according to the poster's story, is that she slept with the 'school boy' after they(she and the main guy) made a decision to date/court.

Thats the issue and not her past.

Y'all should stop behaving like the guy is some kind of undeserving monster cause he is actually the one at the wrong end of the stick
RomanceRe: Thank u all by Egavlas(m): 3:18pm On Apr 01, 2008
@ poster,

I sense some naivety on your pat in thinking that all you need to do is confess to cheating on your fiance and all will be well.

Men find it hard to swallow such.

Forget all the allusions to the maturity or otherwise of the person involved.

I assure you that you will not find any man that will just part you on the back and tell you its ok after you cheated on him.

The fact remains that he would be thinking that you cannot be trusted in marriage if you can sleep with someone else, even while you were engaged to him ,and probably sleeping with him too.

Whats up with that?

It would be understandable if he was still out of the picture.

So is your relationships about sex?

You mentioned he became born-again too. Could it be that he decided not to sleep with you till marriage, and you on the other hand , couldnt bare to stay without?

I am curious cause you could have been more disciplined and avoided this.

I would think very seriously about having anything more to do with you if I was in his shoes(and so would most of the men sounding "correct" here).

Men are wired differently from women and things like this are hardly forgotten.

If he remains with you, he would always answer his own questions of :

1) Was I not man enough that she had to go sleep with someone else?

2)What was the attraction for the other guy?

3)Why would another man drink from my own cistern and fountain and the bearer gave it willingly?

Its all about the male Ego and it wont change. Especially if the guy in question was faithful to you at that time.

So move on and stop pestering him with your calls.

Let him have the time to clear his head and make his decisions.

If you make him come back half-heartedly, he will punish you in many different ways cause he would still be nursing the pains.

Face your sturdies and finish your schooling .

Hopefully , you will become better informed with this lesson.

Check your USB connectors, power supply adapter, plug and the battery
My power supply and battery are all ok.

I think they know its a problem from their end cause they keep saying they will work on it.

I wanted to get Starcomms because of the current promo but they only have the Aircard.

Most new laptops dont have provision for those large card slots but for a lot of USB ports.

And they had the guts to tell me to get a converter(another 35k) just to get connected.

Anyways, when this Visafone is on, its quite fast but the incessant cutting-off is killing me.

I got the visafone EVDO(3G-presumed), and its always cutting off in the middle of work.

I maybe uploading or downloading stuff and it would just seize transfer while still indicating the blue signal.

I then have to start my work all over again.

This is quite frustrating.

When its on, its fast but this issue is really really bad for a company that just started.

I am on EVDO Gold which is their highest offering for now since the Platinum is not yet available.

Please I want to know if any other person on here is using visafone's EVDO and if he/she is having the same issues.

Have called the customer care a number of times and its always "we will work on it".

Thanks

SEC SUSPENDS TRADING ON Afroil and Capital Oil shares INDEFINITELY

The Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has suspended Indefinitely trading in shares of Afroil Plc and Capital Oil Plc across the floors of the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE).

A release by SEC's Head of Media, Mr. Lanre Oloyi in Lagos, said that the suspension was a fall-out of the investigation conducted by the Commission on the activities of the two companies.

It said that the action was to protect the investing publics and warned stockbrokers to avoid trading in the shares of the companies. SEC questioned what it called "illogical and astronomical rise in the share prices of the companies'' when they were not submitting statutory reports.

The Commission said its investigation revealed that during the period of the price growth, the two companies were basically out of business.

"The basis for continued trading and rise in the prices of their shares on the NSE no longer exists and the investing public must not be deceived,'' SEC said.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) recalls that SEC had, on February 14, 2008, said it was conducting investigation into the activities of five companies, accusing some of them of insider trading and price manipulation.

BusinessRe: Hotel Or Private School: Which Business Is More Profitable? by Egavlas(m): 9:52pm On Mar 19, 2008
@Poster

For you to start a Private School, you must have a different mindset and orientation from where you currently are.

Its people who have the desire to impart Knowledge, teach and nurture others and build a legacy for his or her wards that should go into opening schools.

If you go into it just as a business venture, then you would ultimately mess up the lives of the kids that are placed in your hands when the 'bucks' are not rolling in as planned.

People who have been known to be successful in running schools are those with the innate passion to nurture and impart knowledge.

This translates into well tutored lives, and by extension, happy parents and then comes the financial rewards.

But if its just a business venture, then the reverse would be the case : Unhappy parents, terribly run school and ultimately, a failed 'business venture' .

Hope this helps.

I have always been among the guys asking disappointed people to give Hitv a chance but am becoming progressively fed up myself.

I dont even bother turning on HiNolly anymore. In fact, I find myself tuning in more and more to our local channels.

Right Now, there are two Premiership matches going on: Manu vs Bolton and Chelsea Vs Tottenham but Hitv is busy showing motor racing and some silly match that is probably weeks old on hi soccer.

The frustrating part is that they boldly placed on their site here: http://hitv.com.ng/league_fixtures.php that they would be showing the matches.

Was it an oversight? How can you pay for something and forget to show it?

The only reason people are even looking Hitv's way is because of the Premiership and if they cant even get that one right, then its a hopeless case.

And please, Rahym and urfriend, beg the people in the controls or whatever name you have for them to please(in the name of God), stop those fillers that they put in between programmes that we get to watch so many times that we hear and see them in our sleep.

Robert Redford, George Cloony? My goodness do you guys watch your channels with us?

Hello All,

wanoj, pumping, windywendy, yodiyokun,fatherof2, aktopgun, loma, Napoleon and the other people who have been helping out here, No matter how it is, please, please dont quit what you are doing in here.

I just cant understand the sudden unfortunate wind that blew into this place. Its more baffling cause the number of posts of those that refuse to let go of this bad issue, indicate that they are very new comers.

If its true that Napoleon deleted his posts, its very unfortunate cause I for one was learning a lot from him.

Some posts back, I made a joke about pumping and some insurance stocks and he took it in his usual calm and amiable manner.

He keeps helping out and aiding people.

At a certain age, people are supposed to behave with a certain degree of maturity.

Some of these new people have gone so low as to post rubbish about others and even going to youtube??

I know Seun takes no prisoners and people who are in here to just scatter the good thing going on here, will soon find emselves outside.
RomanceRe: Why Do Guys Lose Interest In Relationships After The Chase? by Egavlas(m): 11:34am On Mar 07, 2008
Seun summed it all up.

The whole "playing hard to get" scheme has been elevated over and above a sincere, conscious and serious consideration of the person asking you out.

If a lady is not interested in a guy or starting a relationship, she should tell him in no uncertain terms and mean it.

Its really a put-off after all the rigmarole, for the guy to realise that all he was wasting his time on was not what he wanted.

If you, on the other hand, are interested, then by all means , appear to be. The whole playing hard to get thing isn't in vogue anymore.

People don't have enough time in a day to waste anymore.

Besides, like someone already pointed out, why would a guy call you so many times in a day and send various and diverse sms messages without a real acknowledgment from the recipient ?

The missed calls issue may just be coming too late. After the guy had decided to move on .

SEC Probes 6 Firms Over Shady Dealings

The Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has begun investigations into the activities of six companies over allegations of price manipulation and other sharp practices aimed at ripping-off investors.

The Commission, in a statement on Thursday signed by Lanre Oloyi of its corporate affairs department, gave the names as
1. African Petroleum Plc (AP);
2. Big Treat Plc;
3. Afroil Plc
4. First Aluminum Plc;
5. Capital Oil Plc; and
6. IPWA Plc.

SEC vowed to deal decisively with any operator found culpable of price manipulation or insider dealing.

It reminded all operators that insider dealing was a criminal offence in the capital market and urged them to always operate within the confines of the rules to ensure transparency and integrity of the market.

DO YOU HAVE ANY KNOWLEDGE OF ANY COMPANY WITH POSSIBLE LINKS TO SUCH PRACTICES? KINDLY WRITE TO OUR INVESTIGATIONS UNIT FOR MORE WORK - news@proshareng.com
