When I was paying for my HITV, I told myself that I was only paying for Football and News and Christian programing. I didnt bargain for much more(If they come, good). Last sarturday, Hitv had 5 live matches on while Dstv had only one. Tuesday and wednesday, there were live matches as well and I watched football till I slept off long after midnight. And the Spanish La Liga(which they have exclusive rights) and Seria A havent yet kicked off. So, you need to know what you want. Do you want football and News and some God Tv? Then stay with hitv.No need paying for what you don't need. But if you are a tv person and can stomach all mannar of *Entertainment*, then go for Dstv. But don't lament when you don't watch the premiership and laliga. I must say that they havent got enough content yet(hitv) and they say they are going to be adding more content as time goes on but that is not a problem for me. If I pay three thousand to watch all that foot ball plus cnn and bbc(sky news and eurosport news coming soon). I can't complain. And for the guy that asked if the licence is for a year, note that hitv has the package A for premiership for the next three years. So If you are on Dstv for premiership, forget it. |
Just like the story that male students were being picked up for having braided hair, I would not take any story from PM news seriously(moreso when I have not read or seen it on any other responsible medium). They have a way of distorting the real news and sensationalising it. Yes, the church could tell its members(*Workers*) to stop wearing skimpy or tight things but am not sure they would order for the total ban of trousers. Jeans trousers that are not tight are actually decent loking on ladies and are appropriate for some kind of outings. Untill I get the real jist, I would take it as one of PM news' stuff |
@emini 30 cscs website is www.cscsnigerialtd.com |
You know, Its funny that no one here has posted a link to a story where the govt. officials and police are reported arresting students with braided hair and girls with skimpy dresses. I admit that I didnt read through the whole posts but if someone posted a link somewhere, I would like to know. Please, lets read such a story from any of these sources: Guardian, Thisday, Dailyindependent, Punch, businessday and then we can be sure of what we are saying. Even channels tv news(which I follow religously), has not reported this and they never side anyone nor cover up the truth. The fact is that the women seen above are actually prostitutes and they confirmed to it(Report on channels tv). The other major reason they were arrested is that robbers use their rooms as hideouts to which a couple of em admitted. I cannot believe that KAI or nigerian police in whatever form could have gone into *UNILAG* to arrest male students on account of braided hair without hell and highwater being let loose. The story of braided hair arrest started when some area boys on mainland were arrested and among them were their members with braided hair. I have a neighbour whose braids are very thick and prominent and no one has arrested him. For goodness sake Fashola is a SAN and knows what human rights means and knows the implications of some actions. Having said that, any pointless arrest, would most definitely be from some overzealous and misinformed(illiterate) local govt. officials and would not necessarily be an order from Fashola |
Guys(males), get off this thread. Its a girly thing .Imagine getting all mushy over a song, apologies or not? ![]() |
This looks like a girly thread. *Does a quick head count* *Walks away with hands in pocket* |
Since someone here has pointed out that its a private event, I wouldnt begrudge them for organising it. My issue was Thisday trying to make their private event a national thing by inviting government officials. It has to be clear what they are doing. Not to say today in the news that its charity and tomorrow, another person says its a private, profit taking event. And yes, there ought to be some sort of corporate responsibilty. More so for a news paper house. Every thing they do, ought to reflect this .So part of proceeds going to some reasonable cause, is in order |
Its time to ask the question, What exactly is the Thisday Music festival for? Is it for a cause? What Cause? Why spend millions to pay and bring in international stars just to go and have a good time? If its just to bring stars and make profit from ticket sales, then its good its a flop. The last time , I heard Snoop Dog was on stage with Weed, and even invited people to join him and take a whiff? Thats absolute nonsense. Didnt anyone have the discipline and principles to tell him that its illegal here? Once again, what is the festival for? If its just to indulge and *have fun* and make money off ticket sales, then Thisday should not make it a National event by inviting government officials to come grace the occasion. I for one think its a total waste. Just thinking of the collosal amount(in dollars wasted), and the hundreds of individuals that would have benefitted if the money was used to set people up in their endeavours. I am also disappointed in GTB for sponsoring that indulgence. Am sure someone will jump in to tell me its for charity but we know better. After the last one, maybe they can point out to us, the charitable things they used the proceeds for. |
I hate those things on tv. Whever you turn(tv channel), you find one. Someone be talking and his mouth saying something else. It irritates me. And the confessions of love and the general language and conversations are so terribly unreal. And whats with the double-barrel names? Don't they know how to answer one first name? ![]() |
9ja4eva:@9ja4eva He has been released on bail |
Now That he has been released, Lets watch and see just what and who these Militants are(I strongly believe they are not Nigerians). I am waiting to see them prove me wrong that they are Terrorrists just being lawless and extorting money from foreigners .How can you explain kidnapping people who are trying to construct roads in your area? Telecommunications companies trying to extend services to the areas? I comment the youth at Eleme who have had enough of these millitants who are causing them to lose jobs. I suggest they go ahead to start exposing the sponsors. The struggle has turned a whole load of criminality. They are not fighting for us anymore but for their selfish reasons and for the good of their sponsors. |
I am amazed to read the starter of this thread using "Flash Heavy sites" as a yardstick . My enphasis is on the word, "Flash Heavy". If by design and with full awareness of the meaning of those words, you go ahead to make sites "flash heavy", then you really dont know much about the topic of which you are engaging in. 1) Those sites that you listed, take sooo long to load that serious minded people who are looking for info, would have left your sites before they finish loading. 2) Do you have any slightest idea about S.E.O? Search Engine Optimisation? Cause if you have any slightest idea of what it means, you would be really bothered that the sites that you create for clients are not measuring up in that area and unless they have money for serious advertising, it would be very difficult for search engines to list them. 3)Its only kids and new comers to the web and online business, that are thrilled by flashy content. If you must do flash, reduce it to banners or image headers of sites thereby getting a good mixture of aesthetics and usability as well as S.E.O(This you are supposed to know being an online marketing company). Not everyone can wait for twenty seconds for any of your sites to load. And like I said, its only kids and new comers to the business that will stay for that amount of time admiring your animations. What about databased applications that do realtime processing? You mentioned Union bank as one of the bad bank sites but what about access bank and UBA and GTB? are they not handled by nigerians? Or do you expect banking sites to be a mess of flashing things with no room for functionality and usability? Banks are not music sites or model sites so why would they go that line? Even check bank sites in The states and elsewhere around the world. The empasis is on usability and sites that validate. I dont understand why the people who are answering you are bothering to send you their portfolio as u demanded. There is really no point in that and its childish. @Webworks, Please as someone pointed out, increase those fonts .They can hardly be read. The site may look nice from afar but it may not sell you many jobs? My little advice. |
The leader of the Niger delta Volunteer force, Alhaji Asari Dokubo, is to be released ant time from now(sources say). The government says its on health grownds but I know its a compromise that needed to be reached. The issue now is will the MEND, Movement for the Emancipation Of The Niger Delta, and all the other groups that have evolved, drop those weapons? The Mend have been calling for the release of Dokubo. But there are other groups that have come up who are just there to take hostages and demand ransome. If the hostage taking continues, even in the face of genuine efforts by the Yaradua govt., then the MEND will have to let us know who and who make up their organisation and who are the others who are just there to take advantage of the rough security situation to take hostages and demand ransome. The Masterplan that Yaradua pledges to work on, the effort at bringing stake holders together as well as this latest gesture, should not be spat upon by the MEND. This will indeed show if the various groups in the Niger Delta, are Fighting for the well being of the people or are just there for their selfish interests. Also, this will determine whether or not the sympathy the Mend and others are getting from the generality of the people, is deserved. |
Hello ppl, The levy is on high capacity generators, the capacity of 5 kVA etc . Those of us that use the pure water(tiger) and the other variations as well as the regular bigger ones, are not affected. But the issue is that we must make our voices heard in the face of callous laws like this. I live and work in Lagos and the area boys and rent collectors are growing and getting more and more brazen by the day. It is as if they are trying to let us know that they are now much more in charge. There are some criminals who stand at the Adeniran Ogunsanya roundabout, claiming to be from local/state govt, just extorting money from hapless motorists. They actually cause the driver to make a mistake by one of them pretending to direct traffic onwards just for another to jump out and stop you saying that tou moved when you were not supposed to. This broad daylight robbery must stop. We dont only need the mails of newspaper houses, but also the contacts of the New Governor of lagos state. We need to demand to be heard. I once agan call for a pressure group to start from now. There are issues that need to be addressed but no one is speaking out. Someone needs to collate the postings here and write a mail to whoever here are email adds of some News papers : info@thisdayonline.com , editor@thisdayonline.com , mail@businessdayonline.com , info@independentngonline.com |
So what kind of website are you expecting to get when you wont even pay a penny for it? Do you really need that website? Its a question everyone that seeks to have a website should ask emselves and answer. Questions should be: Am I hoping to do business with my site? What is my area of interest? What is my target visitors? Even if its a community thing or a social group, you still need to get some degree of acceptabilty in aesthetics for your site. If you can answer these questions effectively and in the affirmative, you wont be looking for someone to do a website for you for free. Yes there are tools for web designing everywhere but it still needs some time and effort to put together something good. The bottom line is, not everyone needs a website. And if you trully need a website, then you will understand that free is not always good. There is a boom in web business and companies are getting online more frequently now. Any webmaster who knows what he is doing, will not have the time to do free website for now, cause he/she will be busy doing *paying* jobs. Good luck with your adventure sha |
Skye Bank is still doing well. Am elated about this. Even Ecobank is still moving up. I am loving it ![]() |
She sounds like a troubled person. Be careful! You have done well up to this point. Its now time to cut it off. I dont suggest you be too nice about it. Make a clean break. If you keep being friends, I am sure you are going to find yourself in the same situation as you did on that night. |
Allcorrect:@allcorrect Whats the beef about ,bros? |
easimoni:Why wema bank? |
enolose:You are right. Two weeks ago , I went to my broker and asked him to buy Skyebank and Ecobank shares for me from my account with them. This was when both shares were at 7.15 , 7.30 . He asked me why I would want to buy those shares and I told him that I belived the two shares were not at their peak prices and that going by what I saw with Skyebank, that it was going to appreciate. He went ahead and bought them for me and now, whenever I call, he picks my call immediately and pays me a lot of attention. This is because, the same thing happened with some other info I gave on some shares that turned out true. I am not an experienced hand in investing but there are somethings that one can put two and two together and add up. I must confess that our stock brokers don't think for us and really don't do the work that they ought to. Some other stock broker who is just a friend, was really sad for me for leaving other "better" shares to go for Skyebank and Ecobank. |
50kobo:I think we should annoint someone here who is good at writting and let him convey our fillings in writing and send it to newspaper houses as well as government houses both federal and state. |
@tasiana Its for high capacity generators. |
I dont know who Fashola's advisers are but he has started on a very sour note. This is nonsense and uncalled for. Is this how he wants to payback the people that voted massively for him, in the face of a serious PDP threat? What a shame. And has anyone seen how the area boys and fare collectors , have almost doubled on the streets of Lagos? I think we should start forming a pressure group to pressurise the Federal government to look into this Lagos issues. We are Nigerians and no one should treat us like an extension of his backyard |
Gunners for life: Eto should come over. Reyas should be brought back from Real and Baptista sent back. Berbetov will complete the attacking options since we found it hard scoring and converting chances in the just ended season. Senderos, song, flamini, aladiere should all be sold as a bargain to get a Central defender like Nesta(I wish) |
@ayala Please what do you think about Thomas Wyatt? Do you have any useful info on them? Thinking of buying the shares |
@ CrazyT IMHO, I think its time to make some money from your afroil shares |
Maybe u should try em and find out. I would advise you not to host any enterprise application or website for a big client on it. By looking at that offering, its clear that they are targeting small resellers. And with all that features and capacity at such a low price, what readily comes to my mind is *overselling* . Alot of hosting companies do it. They offer unlimited everything on hosting platforms believing that no one would ever use up to half of the features that they offer. What happens is that people crowd into those hosting packages and since its definitely shared hosting, peformance of some sites(especially data-based) will be hampered. You just need to try them and see if theirs is different. I dont see any money back guarantees so you understand |
lawyerchap:Its obvious like you said and I quote *i'm obsessive-compulsive when it comes to grammar in written communication* . I guess I was just typing directly as I usually do in discussions with pals. Note taken. But even if you were trying to be condescending, it wouldnt bother me. I would be the saddest person on earth if I let any words typed by anyone behind the computer on the *world wide web*, get to me . ![]() Am still as real as ever. And yeah, definitely no beef |
lawyerchap:Did I hear u say millions of people love the make up? .Do u love her make up or do u like the fact that she sings well? I like the fact that she sings well but the issue is that being an idol is about the whole package. Presentation and all. Try and look at her when she is shown prior to any performance(when she is not on stage). And do a comparison and you would see that she is not doing herself a world of good. Its my opinion and that of many others here. If we are all not *well-informed* on this, then we must all hate Omawumi right? Not so, cause one person that feels strongly about her make-up not doing her good, is also a strong fan of hers. If those pros are the ones handling her make-up, then they are not doing well at all. In fact, I believe the contestants also have a say in what they wear and how they look. And Omawunmi, being someone who likes to dazzle ,may be the one who asks for a little more of everything here and there. This also shows in her choices of outfits. Its no beef bro. Am keeping it real as well. |
Hi fabrics. What fabric are u made of? .I don't have a problem with warri girls. I don't have a problem with her personaly but I still think someone should teach her how to make up(since she is now in the public eye). Its terrible. Looks like where my little niece practices on a doll |
Someone should please teach Omawunmi how to *make up* . She always comes out with too much heavy make up and the irony of the whole thing is that I saw her when she auditioned(without all the make up), and she was looking very pretty. Where are the House Of Taras of this world? Someone please teach this warri girl how to make up. Its awful ![]() |
