Au Senegal, Ils le mangent bcp... le yassa (une sauce d'oignon qui est just des oignons avec la moutarde et viande/poulet/poisson), la salad etc. Maman, elle m'a dit que c'est bon pour la peau.

jidegirl12: I don't wash any poultry before I cook it .. I dump it in the pot add spices and onions and cook right away.

With young kids touching the counter top countless times everyday ... Food poisoning is no joke.
I mean I guess the germs and all that stuff are killed from the heat anyway but still... I'd like to give my meat a quick rinse before.

nikkyshyne: The argument doesn't add up. I am washing the chicken directly at the sink bowl and not making a mess of the kitchen while washing.

Even if we were to go by their rules, while cutting the chicken aren't we making use of knives, boards and the like? Won't we end up washing the utensils too? Unless they are trying to say chicken cooking should be done outdoor.

Rubbish!
a little bit of water is bound to splash around thereby spreading/splattering bacteria around. studies suggest bacteria can fly up to 3feet

Egba people no dey carry last. Give this guys some books, and some money and he is on his way to inventing many things!! Brains! That's what this guys has. It is a pity Nigeria is the way it is. No interest in research, science or tech. smh.

E try sha and I'm sure if he had proper funding, he would have done much better.

Is it okay if I wear gloves all the way up my arms, and washed it outside, removed my clothes, before going indoors to cook? or maybe I should just cook it outside as well?

chukyrooy: I just came across this link on Jaguda.com, it was a reply to the video and its titled:Re: Why Wouldn’t I Leave Nigeria?; A Response To The Video By Kola Olaosebikan.

I want to just highlight the point I have been trying to put across. Now I have no problem with maybe the intent of the video, or calling to light issues that we all know happen in Nigeria, but the execution and method of doing this comes off as nothing but very insulting to Nigerians, and I’m tempted to say, sadly ignorant.

this is the link;

Absolutely love what this Aribaba guy wrote. Sense!

I just wish we could have discussions/arguments without adding sentiments and all this emotional, tribalistic, and religious nonsense. Enough of these silly arguments that focus on the poster and the points he/she raised. Na wa o. Smh

Thank you Naptu2 for your input o jare. Instead of some people to read and understand better...

bloglover: The man get swag...but he shouldnt force his children into music if they dont want to, they are kids and dont know what they want for themselves now
And you know they were forced how? Who says they don't know what they want? You grow up around a man who plays an instrument and performs around the world and you think you wouldn't be interested in playing the same instrument and wanting to be like your father?
I don't think they were forced. They might have been encouraged and that's a different case. If they did not want to, they wouldn't be on stage.

Anyway @OP, nice!!! I'd like to see them perform some day.

ShymX: Never that, I was just messing about on the thread. You should know I like messing with Ibadan people whenever there's an opportunity to do that. grin

ShymX: Hey you, I read somewhere that Ibadan used to be Egbaland, but the Egba's were chased out of there by the Oyo's and Ijebu's, hence why your people moved to Abeokuta - how true is that?

PS: Will read the reply tomorrow - off to bed now. tongue wink kiss
angry angry angry you want us to fight abi?! Lol. We both know that's not true.

Syenite: My Dear that is how your Abeokuta looks from an aerial view. grin
Lol I agree but like I said that's only one part of it. I mean I've been seeing that picture since I was a kid. It's old. I'm sure many of the pictures you posted are more recent. Do a better google search and I'm sure you'll find more. Did you see the pics Dayokanu posted of Ibadan? Compare that to the one you posted. Make people no come yab my hometown o.

Fhemmmy: Yes, cos i remember how people never used to have babysitter . . . You going out, you just send the kids to the neighbor grin

naijababe: Community based society in Nigeria?! Abeg my sister, I no wan laugh grin
Lol in fact I get more surprised each day. It's very sad.

Fhemmmy: Haba . . . Nigeria is not that bad, in Nigeria people still have that kinda spirit, i will agree that it has reduced drastically compared to when we were kids.
Yea it's reduced drastically and that is a cause fur concern
FashionRe: Chris Olwage Of New-Zealand Is Mr Gay World 2013 by Egbagirl(f): 8:07pm On Aug 08, 2013
And where is the Nigerian contestant?
TravelRe: A Shocking Video Of A Nigerian Abroad by Egbagirl(f): 8:06pm On Aug 08, 2013
Fhemmmy: That is why i have no idea why we making so much of what has been said, on the other hand, i am glad she said all that she said oh, cos i think the more people does, the more we get angry and feel like doing something, We - In Nigeria are too used to the current situation that we are forgetting how it ought to be
Okay now I think you misunderstood me. I said she had better so as to redeem herself (not like bothered) but no one has forgotten the problems. How is it possible to forget them when you live them everyday. And I'm saying it again, this video won't cause people to get angry the right way or feel the right type of anger. She was just ranting and it got angry quite alright but not about the problems.

Lol I think the only part we agree on is the problems she stated are true. Lets agree to disagree abi how do they say it sef? Lol

Ugosample: at last, someone who thinks like me. In my uncle's house (a block of 12 flats) he suggested that each block contribute a certain amount to raise a big water storage that will serve all houses. The neighbours kicked and refused. Some of them went from behind to lift their own tanks which is more expensive. As i speak, there are 8 different tanks in the air (an eyesore) and 8 different pumping machines which, i reiterate, costs much more than the big storage tank. The reason for this example is to show you how warped the mindset arround is. It's anti development. And also selfish. Is that the mindset that is requisite for development? I give up.
That's just really sad. It's such a selfish and individualistic mindset. No sense of community at all. So much for a the noise were always making about bring a community based society.

Lucasbalo: . People are just criticizing the girl for jo reason. In my humble opinion, the young lady is absolutely right. I have been very fortunate to travel extensively all over the globe due to the nature of my job and to me Nigeria is one of few countries regressing instead of progressing. Nigerians deserve better.
See honestly, I'm not saying that she's lying o. We all know that she stated a lot of truths but! I've also stated why I did not like the vid and her approach/attitude.
