Hmmmm... when it is someone else committing the act, it hurts and we condemn it but when we are the ones in their position, it seems okay to do it. That is the sad truth. Many of us criticize and castigate our leaders for corruption but it doesnt seem wrong when it's in our own homes, offices etc. As long as it favors us, no biggie but once we no longer benefit, it becomes a problem.

Car Talk / Re: Nigeria Women Cant Drive! by Egbagirl(f): 4:35pm On Nov 04, 2013
addictiv: Cmon I have seen guys handle the wheels quite well even a one legged.

Yes yes yes!! It is possible, no one is disputing that. If I'm driving an auto, all I need is one leg no? So of course, a one-legged person can drive a car (an auto) and drive it well sef.

You are wrong. I wore 5 and a half inch heels the other day and I had to readjust the tilt of my steering wheel just so my knees would fit under. 5 and a half is not the highest I wear either. If you are wearing shoes that high and they are easy to take off it is actually safer to take them off.

Abeg, leave this guy o. He won't understand. I dare him to wear a pair of high heels and try driving in them.

jp philips:

I repeat, a good driver drives with anything including crutches.
And this is where I end it all. You really can't be serious with this post. Peace bro

jp philips:

when you cant drive with your shoes, it shows that you are no where near being a good driver.
only if you know what driving is, your shoes are the least of your worries.

There is a difference between being able to drive with shoes and actually WANTING to. undecided undecided undecided That I can do something does not mean I ant to do it all the time. If I'm driving 500 miles and I have heels on, you think I'm going to drive in those heels? heck no! Come on, let's be realistic. Heels are not that comfortable to walk in not to talk of driving. Try wearing a pair of stilettos and drive in them, then come back and tell me what you think. Abeg, leave matter.

"Gutter oil" industry takes street slop and animal scraps and renders it into black-market cooking oil.

Considering the rampant amount of food waste that occurs in America, the move toward thriftiness in regards to utilizing scraps and leftovers is a promising development.

For restaurants (and home cooks) who work with whole animals, from chickens to 300 pound hogs, rendering the fat from scraps of meat is one delicious way to make sure as much of the animal can be utilized as possible.

In China, however, that mentality has been taken to disgusting, dangerous ends in what’s known at the Gutter Oil Industry.

In a video posted on AlterNet, produced by Radio Free Asia, a woman is shown pulling slop out of the sewer, scooping up globs of crud into a bucket. “Her slop eventually winds up in a processing plant like this one,” says the narrator, the screen showing a bubbling vat, “where its combined with other animal fat refuse to create recycled cooking oil.”

Remember London’s “fatberg”? Gutter oil is basically a rendered, refined cooking oil based on similar such waste. Unsurprisingly, the cheap cooking oil has been found to contain carcinogens and other toxins. But in China, oil, a requisite for wok-cooking, is in high demand, and the cheap price of gutter oil draws customers despite the grease’s source. The video says that an estimated 1/10 of oil sold in China is gutter oil.

And that sizable market means this form of recycling is big (albeit illegal) business. As AlterNet’s Rod Bastanmehr notes, the government recently moved to shutdown black market production in 13 cities.

“The shutdown occurred after a five-month investigation yielded a reported 3,200 tons of gutter oil,” Bastanmehr writes, “which authorities estimated had been sold to a staggering $1.6 million profit.”

lol. Don't be disappointed. I am not sure if you are male or female but if you are female, your best bet is to ignore and do you. I doubt we will ever get to that point where most men begin to have a different perspective towards women (in general). Do you and be happy. If the next guy thinks less of me, he can go jump off a cliff. No time

budwizer: I think the problem with a good number of our female drivers is that they are just mostly scarred to take the next step and improve on their confidence level after they start driving. Although I've come across a few excellent female drivers anyway.
I'm still trying to convince my wife that she dosent always need to drive bare foot after 3 yrs. Lol....

That has nothing to do with good driving. It's a preference. Many times, women are wearing heels and some other crazy shoes, you certainly don't expect them to drive with those do you? Woman shoe no be d same as man own o. Woman own na fashion and fashion is not always comfy.

runzlord: serously, nigeria women cant drive, they are just to scared, when u see a woman driving note that she is driving with one mind so take minutes before they make a decision on the road. If a woman is in front of you, you would almost cry, they would want to switch lanes, then they change their mind sort off, they become confuse and end of in the middle of the road blocking everybody at her back, and note she does this without traficating, in a nut shell an average nigeria woman drives like a learner or is a learner. Usaully when people drive like that or does not drive well, we at the back would just maintain and conclude it a woman thats driving and when the person finally allow us to pass, truly truly it would be a woman. Ive never be wrong on that. But the case is not like that in orther countries.
I highly sugest women should have their own logo. Like learner is a big "L", women should be hanging a big "W" at the back and front of their car too.

alright just hold it right there! You just killed your whole rant with this. Abeg, go sidon one place.

To those who will not be compensated, it is clearly a lack of proper education and that is both the fault of the government and the people. It is the duty of the government to adequately inform its people and the it is the duty of the people to seek answers to questions from the government. That one person is well known in a neighborhood and is constantly hailed as Baale/Chief or whatever does not mean he is the government or that he knows every law of the book. Sometimes we treat ordinary people like they are the government and we treat the government like they are ordinary citizens.

Fhemmmy:

Most bosses dont even give a damn about you, it is all about what you bring to the table and if what you bring to the table draws their attention to who you are, then, likeness comes in . . . .

Exactly. In rare occasions, you might be blessed with the ones that do care about you. But they must like you first to even be concerned about you personal life or anything. I have been fortunate to have the nice ones but I am aware that it's not always the case and it just might have that someday, I'll get a horrible boss but whatever it might be, I'll still do my best to excel. When they see your worth, they'll begin to respect you and take a personal interest in you. You need to show them first.

Although... some might still not care. lol In that case, well too bad. lol
