the emirs are important and collectively should have the authority to decide what is right for the north, its historical and it should apply today, we can't afford to get ourselves in a ditch for the sake of a failing concept
Not true. The Emirs will never be in a position to force candidates on their people. These should be discouraged - same goes to the Igwes, Obas and chiefs.

This is Democracy the power is with the masses and Buhari holds the swaga as long as Nigeria today is concern. We are ready kick out corruption and its manifestation.

Exclusion Of Bashorun Dele Momodu In The Presidential Debate Scheduled To Hold March 29, 2011
Posted: March 28, 2011 - 21:26
By Femi Falana
We are Solicitors to Bashorun Dele Momodu (hereinafter referred to as “our client”) on whose instructions we write.

Our client’s instructions are summarized as follows:

1. Our client is the Presidential candidate of the National Conscience Party (NCP), a registered political party in Nigeria.

2. By your letter dated March 7, 2011 our client was invited to take part in the presidential debate scheduled to hold at Abuja on Tuesday, March 29, 2011. He promptly wrote to accept your invitation.

3. However, without any legal justification whatsoever you have excluded our client from the debate and thereby caused him untold embarrassment and denied him the opportunity to take advantage of the programme to sell his programmes to the electorate.

4. By the unlawful exclusion of our client from the Presidential Debate you have recklessly violated section 100 of the Electoral Act which states as follows:

“1. A candidate and his party shall campaign for the elections in accordance with such rules and regulation as may be determined by the Commission.

2. State apparatus including the media shall not be employed to the advantage or disadvantage of any political party or candidate at any election.

3. Media time shall be allocated equally among the political parties or candidates at similar hours of the day.

4. At any public, electronic media, equal airtime shall be allotted to all political parties or candidates during prime times at similar house each day, subject to the payment of appropriate fees.

5. At any public print media, equal coverage and conspicuity shall be allotted to all political parties”

5. The illegal exclusion is also a violation of the fundamental right of our client to freedom from discrimination on political ground guaranteed by Section 42 of the Constitution and Article 2 of the African Charter on Human and Peoples’ Rights.

In the light of the foregoing we have our client’s firm instructions to sue you at the Federal High Court to claim substantial damages for violating his fundamental right to freedom from discrimination and initiate criminal proceedings against you pursuant to pursuant to Section 100(6) of the Electoral Act which provides as follows:

“ A public media that contravenes subsections (3) and (4) of this section commits an offence and is liable on conviction to a maximum fine of N500,000 in the first instance and to a maximum fine of N1,000,000 for subsequent conviction”.

Yours sincerely,
FEMI FALANA

And if we press on now and show that his delegates during the negotiation state for the debate made such demand, two actually:

- Question to all the participating candidates and
- Restriction of the members of audience asking questions

All he will do is find someone among those representatives (or even this loud-mouth Maduekwe) to sack, in order to save face. Mr President or do I say Mr Maduekwe, you lied again - I don't know if Mr President will accept he approve this one, when it turns against him grin grin grin
Politics › B B Ticket: Religious Harmony In Nigeria by egift(op): 3:05pm On Mar 28, 2011
There are many things Nigerians can be divided about - one of them is religion. Every man holds his faith dearly. I have never in Nigeria's Political history seen Nigerians tolerate each others religious views as is the case on Buhare/Bakare's ticket.

- Before the campaign started, there was a week long praying and fasting both in the mosques and churches.
- "In Jesus Name" and "Isha Allah" go off at the same time when Nigerians pray for the actualization of BB ticket.
- Christians and Muslims celebrate together for the same ticket.
- Buhari's acceptance in the South is growing faster than many anticipated.
- Buhari is passionate about his religion while accepting and tolerating others; same for his vice, Bakare.

And many more. I see a religious crises in Nigeria reducing to the possible minimum under Buhari/Bakare's administration.

What do you think?

Don't be deceived by brother. In a free and fair election Buhari will win by landslide with tangible votes in the SS.

Let me ask you: What is the unique thing Jonathan have done for the people of Niger Delta considering the suffering they have passed through over the years?

Why should the people of ND vote for a man who don't have a single accomplishment for them - if not that he is from their tribe?

Vote Buhari lets stop corruption and build a great Nigeria.

papa ejima:
I am from Rivers State but I will vote for Buhari because I think he is the best suited, among the prominent candidates, to tackle the issue of corruption. Any Nigerian who has a brain knows that the biggest impediment to our development is Corruption and you can not fight corruption when you are corrupt. For me, that is the only problem we have as all the failings in every sector can be attributable to it.

I am an opinion leader in my area but when I tried convincing my people to vote for Buhari, many could not understand why I am asking them not to vote for Goodluck, their own. I do not blame them because they are not enlightened or educated enough to see the bigger picture.

We have been complaining of bad, corrupt leadership for ages now but when the opportunity comes by to make a change, we look the other way. Gani offered himself to us but how many of us came to vote for him? Maybe, we are hoping that God is going to come down from Heaven to change the situation of this country for us. If we still allow this same set of corrupt and inept leadership to continue, then we have no basis to complain afterward.
God bless you. Am Igbo and in full support of Buhari grin

So when they roll out that PDP Rigging Robot, Nigerians will be waiting - I pity any maga that attempts snatching the ballot grin grin grin

Its okay to disagree. But to insist Buhari will not raise at-least 25% is a denial of reality - even the Northern population in Lagos is more than enough. Let alone when those of us from other ethic groups vote for him.

When a gathering doesn't favor them, they start crying,  If the meeting was to endorse the clueless GEJ, there is no need to place them under security watch. But now that they have feelers that they are gathering to endorse Buhari, they become security risk to the country. Does this make any sense?

Even if they are there to endorse a candidate, don't they have a right to do so? These are retired warriors, they can't be intimidated except if GEJ will be consumed.
Gbam. Thank you. Well said.
