Let me tell you this, no politician need to appease to the Igbos because the Igbos only play one-directional politics. They face one way, no matter the circumstances, their votes will always be one way. So why do you need to appease them?

I’m not saying it’s a bad thing. It’s very good and I hope the Yorubas can think like that too in our voting pattern but it just seems we and the Igbos are totally different people and both method have their advantage and disadvantages.

The Yoruba way of having a distinct mind and ability to vote differently is one of the greatest advantage because it makes politicians appease the Yorubas. You will have a mind that, this people might vote me and they might not. I can appease to 35% of them to vote me and leave the 65% to do what they will do either ways. Jonathan did it in 2011 and did it again in 2015. Atiku did it in 2019 and Atiku/Obi did it in 2023.

Like you said, Tinubu told his comrades that they don’t need to invest too much in campaigning in the SE because he knows there is nothing on earth he can do that will make them vote him. So to him, the SE is useless to his success and when he eventually won, he is not bounded by any fears of SE voting against him in the next election like he would towards the North. Infact he may choose to not construct one single runway in the SE and still win the next election. That is the danger of one-directional voting as a bloc. When you do that, you better succeed coz if not, politicians will see that the voting bloc is useless to them.

But if her parents are divorced, and live in the same area, and she lives with both of them.

It's not just in Rivers state alone, Peter Obi's actual votes were massively suppressed in Lagos. The margin was so wide that Tinubu, Sanwo-olu, MC Oluomo and the rest of Lagos APC stakeholders got mad and went on rampage to prepare for the Governorship election to avoid losing Lagos completely.



Sanwo-olu after seeing the actual huge margin Obi used to win Lagos became humble overnight that he started doing all sorts of things to convince Lagosians that he was different from Tinubu while MC Oluomo charged his agberos to take the laws by their hands and do whatever it takes to win Lagos for Sanwo-olu to avoid extinction of their decadelong Agberoism extortion in Lagos.

The Nigerian environment tends to subsidize a lot of unhealthy marriages and then tagged a "happy marriage".

That reminds me of a draft dissertation of a Nigerian Psychology postgraduate student, I read and it was really insightful as it focused on the breakdown in marital relationships of some Nigerian migrants to the UK as the focus.

The project detailed how the UK system hits hard on Nigerian husbands who are so high on control and submission as the UK system deflates these. The researcher also brought up the demystication of income which counters many threads here that advocates a man should not let his wife know how much his income is but here in the UK, the wife knows it before it even reaches the man's account and the system forces the couples to be more open about their finances and they are forced to make joint decisions as it forces accountable leadership on husbands as against the lordship status, they "enjoyed" in Nigeria ....d person write many, many for the dissertation.😆😆😆😆
