Lingudy: They pay tithes too. Tithes were awarded to the Levites for their priestly service because they would not receive land in Canaan see: Num 18:19-21. They, too, gave a tenth of what they received (v. 26). . The Levites used the tenth to for their upkeeps The also contributed from it as tenth. You are right ! However no chrittian is under any compulsion today to pay tithes. 2 Cor 9vrs 7 God loves cheerful givers |

fuckJones: Tithes and offering are gifts given to God. Thus the tithes and offerings are a reflection of one’s love for God and is given freely.
The Apostle Paul writes, “Each man should give what he has decided in his heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion for God loves a cheerful giver. And God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work.” (II Cor. 9:7– .
So in my opinion, “Are you suppose to pay tithes to your own church if you’re the pastor?” . No where in the Bible is the tithe compulsory for chritians.! It is voluntary for chrstians . A christian can even pay more than tenth. As for the Isrealites it was compulsory to pay tithes. Priests and other working in the temple also made contributions to the house of God . However the Mosaic Law did not make it compulsory for them to pay thithe. The tithe was used for their upkeeps and maintenance! |

With what we have now, I don't think Tinubu will go Second Tenure with all this things that will do irreparable damage.
Meanwhile fuel is 650 and dollar is 1300.
But this Tinubu is very smart person actually, he knew he will go down if that csu release on time. No wonder he insisted to delay it. That's terrible
The only thing I've learnt from this Judgement and Tinubu is simple. Cover your crimes Properly and you will scale through no matter what and have money to cover it up perfectly.
But Tinubu is also good at covering his tracks, so before then, he may cover alot. Have you forgotten that Only SSC is needed to contest as the president. Even if yiu have only GCE results without going to a Secondary School you.can contest. BAT will use minimum qualification then. He will contest in 2027 |

oyichi: there are two point of defense that tinubu's lawyers are trying to put up, the venue of the deposition and the idea that the deponent should be in court for cross examination, for the venue of the deposition, he argued that it lack merit because it was not done in a court, atiku's lawyer is supposed to counter it by telling the judges that the venue was ordered by the judge that presided over the case and that tinubu's lawyers were there and didn't object to it, as for the registrar to come for cross examination, there is no need for that because tinubu's lawyers in the US has already cross examined the registrar and it's all there in the deposition, right now, if that dull lawyer atiku is parading can not be smart enough to face olanikpekun, then atiku should sponsor the csu registrar to come here to testify or he should just pack up because those two points will determine the case . There is a difference between what is acceptable in the US and Nigeria . Nigerian jurisprudence and the Evidence Act do not accept deposition in an office. Also surpporting documents must be tendered in a icourt by the authorities that produce them In this Atiku and his legal team failed. |

If you cannot call the desponent to testify in court, it is mere hearsay as it is assumed that the respondent didn't have a chance to ask questions thereby not defended his/herself. Is it true that Hausas/Fulanis have been able to infiltrate and influence yoruba culture through inter-marriage and religion but haven't been so successful when it comes to Igbo culture? I am a Yoruba man. We don't hate IGBOSI I have IGBOS as my friends inside and outside Nigeria. The only issue IGBOS have against Yorubas is for not supporting Obi for presidency. However Yorubas don't care if IGBOS support Tinubu or not.Let SS and SE support their children. The North will decide who will rule Nigeria. Whether IGBOS are happy or not Yorubas will spend 8 years in presidency. As for the ruling class in the two regions , they love one another. Needless to add that Yorubas cannot enjoy what the IGBOS enjoy politically in the SW.It seems the SW is wiser now. All positions in tbe SW are now reserved only for the SW.No more no less. |

Thonyb2: The Supreme Court will today (Monday) commence hearing on appeals filed by Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Mr Peter Obi of the Labour Party and the Allied Peoples Movement, APM, seeking to unseat President Bola Tinubu of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC.
.ng reports that Atiku, Obi, and the APM had filed separate appeals at the apex court seeking to nullify the outcome of the February 25 presidential election after the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal upheld Tinubu’s victory.
The Supreme Court communicated the hearing date through notices sent to all the parties, last Thursday.
Atiku and Obi had faulted the verdict of the tribunal and subsequently filed appeals at the Supreme Court.
The PDP candidate also filed for permission to tender a copy of Tinubu’s academic records released by the Chicago State University, CSU, USA, which he said showed that Tinubu submitted a forged certificate to the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC.
The former vice president is also seeking to get a Washington, D.C. court to order the FBI to release documents on President Tinubu’s $460,000 forfeiture case.
.ng recalls that Tinubu had on October 13, asked the Supreme Court to discountenance his Chicago State University academic records attached by Atiku Abubakar.
The president opined that the development was alien to the judicial proceedings in the country.
Tinubu asserted that the CSU discovery was not part of the record or the judgment of the Presidential Election Petitions Tribunal, urging the apex court not to admit it.
President Tinubu further said that Atiku had the habit of first filing a petition and afterwards hunting for evidence, noting that the former VP had exhibited that while appealing the tribunal judgment.
The president in his response to Atiku’s appeal filed by his lawyers led by Wole Olanipekun, SAN, held that the claim that his credentials contained discrepancies was merely cooked up by the PDP candidate.
.ng reports that there are concerns whether the apex court would admit fresh evidence or not.
However, a legal practitioner in Rivers State, Mathew Abakpa revealed that accepting Atiku’s fresh evidence at the Supreme Court is “legally possible”.
In a chat with .ng on Sunday, the lawyer simply said, “It is legally possible for the Supreme Court to admit the fresh evidence and I believe it will be admitted but what the Supreme Court does with the fresh evidence thereafter is entirely a different thing.”

SoNature: Yoruba Nation agitator, Chief Sunday Adeyemo, fondly called Sunday Igboho, yesterday, issued a seven-day ultimatum to Fulani herdsmen in the South-West to vacate the region, over the killings of some farmers in Oyo and Ogun states.
He also tasked security agencies to fish out and prosecute herders, who allegedly attacked farmers in Iwere-Ile, Oyo State, and some communities in Ogun State, recently.
Igboho, in a statement, said farmers in Yorubaland and in any part of Nigeria deserve safety from criminal herders and others who will not allow them farm in peace.
The statement reads: “We are calling on the Police, the Department of State Security, DSS, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC, and the Nigerian Army to address the security breaches now before the situation gets out of hand.
“We are saddened that the killings of our farmers innocently eking their living have started rearing their ugly head again. This worrisome development calls for sober reflection bearing in mind the current hardship in the country.
“The recent ambush and killing of operatives of Amotekun Security Corps, including other security agents who were trying to restore normalcy in Iwere-Ile community after the suspected Fulani herdsmen have murdered our kinsmen in Iwere-Ile must be investigated and the culprits must be made to face the music.
“While we commend Gvernor ‘Seyi Makinde of Oyo State and his counterparts in Ogun State, Prince Dapo Abiodun for their efforts to ensure peace and healthy developments in their respective states, we are challenging the heads of security agencies to act now before the situation worsens.
“However, while we believe in the peaceful coexistence in Nigeria regardless of tribe, religion and political cleavages, we are issuing a-seven day ultimatum to Fulani herdsmen killing our people in any part of Southwest to vacate our communities now. This warning is very important. We are not going to take laws into our hands, but they must leave.
“For now, we have belief in the capability of the Federal Government under the leadership of President Bola Tinubu to ensure and guarantee the safety of lives and properties, particularly farmers in Nigeria. We must not tolerate any act that can further push up the prices of food and other edible commodities.
“Nigerians and our farmers in agrarian settlements need security presence now so that they can engage in small or large scale farming activities for food production. These killings must stop now for the benefit of all.”
